How can your account be suspended but still able to write in the forums?
Well, I just wanted to check if anyone else had a similar problem, because that’s the first time I’ve ever heard of a case like this. I do know there were a lot of problems with Gem Purchases in the last week, but I can’t imagine all those people getting banned because of a problem with aNets bank system. I’ve also never heard of the support being unable to unlock an account and thought I’d share this with you.
Oh yeah more dinosaurs.
And all those different version of griffons, I cant see why they weren’t added yet. And the rainbow phoenix from gw1 but I guess that one’s extinct
It’s your fault for making Quip in the first place. Quip and Dreamer players need to get banned!
You did forget about Moot I think
I’ve had the same issue, led to my other account being suspended for a week, still going. My account was supposed to go online again, but nothing happened so far.
So, about a week ago, my brother’s account (I write for him since he cannot participate in the forums atm, of course) was shut down for unknown reasons. He wrote to the support about the reasons for the ban. They told him there was a problem with his bank account or something, but nothing specific about the reasoning. He then explained to them, that he wanted to buy something of the Gemstore and wanted to pay for the gems via his bank accounts. His two personal account’s weren’t accepted, so he tried his fiancĂ©s, which was neither possible. So he decided to buy the gems in a local store and get on with it. A few days later, the account was suspended. So far so good, the Support worker told him that they had to wait for an answer by their bank partners about the failed attempts to buy things or something.
A day later he got an answer that everything is alright with the bank. The support worker said that his account was unlocked again – however, his access to the Heart of Thorns Expansion was locked.
My brother then proceeded to ask what the reasoning for the blocked access was – as he wanted to purchase his missing Living World Chapters with Gems, not the Expansion, which he bought in a local store here, not the gemshop. He also wanted to know what would happen to the things he did in HoT until this point, achievements, collections, and most important of all, his revenant.
Another support member then took over, telling him that they would not cut his access to his HoT was still active. He was supposed to log in and check if everything works fine or not. That was yesterday, but the account still doesn’t work. When he tries to log in to the forum, it says “You don’t have access to Guild Wars 2”, and when he tries to log into the game, it says something along the lines of “Connection Failed. Try again” with error code 1076:4:5:2405
His FiancĂ©’s and my accounts work perfectly on his computer btw.
The support worker told him to wait for new instructions as he will give his request to another department of the support workers, since he cannot fix the problem.
Any ideas besides waiting? I just thought I’d share this with you guys, maybe someone had the same or similar issues or maybe I can get a quick response by a support worker here, as the german support seems to be quite busy
You make only 5-8g a day?
That’s actually alright mate.
People that just, well, play the game don’t get close to that amount.
The dungeon speedrun crowd, yes, they will get that much easily, but everyone else would be jealous of the amount of money you make.
It is definitely dated at this point, but still very enjoyable. You can basically treat it like your standard high-fantasy (minus the elves, but with charr, hey!) RPG, with ten classes to choose from (if you have the first three campaigns), where you can combine each class with each of the other 9 remaining classes, leaving you with 90 different class combinations (from Warrior Elementalist to Ranger Paragorn over to Ritualist Necro and all the way to Dervish Mesmer), and that’s not even scratching the surface with the different builds you can try out – You have 8 skill slots, with one usually being an Elite skill. In most cases, your attacks aren’t bound to a certain weapon – there are some Sword exclusives like 100blades, some hammer and spear, but most skills can be used with all weapons equiped. And the skills man… Elites are obtained by killing boss monsters, and then stealing their Elite Skill with a certain Seal-Skill. You can then use it, so even getting your build to work is part of the adventure. There are 290 Elite Skills, shared between 10 Classes, so around 29 Elites per class, and lots and lots more of normals skills.
So it’s more a very deep single player experience than an MMO, but it has one of the best mechanics for building a unique charakter, one hundred times deeper than GW2
But ascended items do impact the market: you can sell the refined ascended materials on the trading post.
Let’s say you want to build Chorbens Claymore: one of the red greatswords, which have Soldier stats.
You will need:
-1 Vision Crystal, consisting of
5 Bloodstone Bricks – 100 Bloodstone Dust, 2 Globs of Ectoplasm, 10 Thermoclytmic Reagent
5 Dragonite Ingots – 100 Dragonite Ore, 2 Globs of Ectoplasm, 10 Thermoclytmic Reagent
5 Empyreal Stars – 100 Empyreal Fragments, 2 Globs of Ectoplasm, 10 Thermoclytmic Reagent
1 Augur’s Stone – 20 Skill Points
Can you buy it of the TP? No, as it is Accountbound. Is it time-gated? No. So by this point, you should have enough stuff to make like 20 Vision Crystals at the least.
______
1 Chorben’s Soldier Inscription, which costs about 40g on the TP, consisting of:
10 Piles of Crystaline Dust – you should have those.
10 Globs of Dark Matter – if you did salvage some exotics, you should have a lot of them.
1 Soldier’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription, consisting of
5 Orichalcum Plated Dowels
5 Globs of Ectoplasm
5 xxx – Don’t know that atm.
Is it timegated? No. Can you buy it of the TP? Around 2g 50s.
1 Deldrimorsteel Plated Dowel, which costs around 25g on the TP (not timegated), consisting of:
3 Deldrimor Steel Ingots, which cost about 4g 50s each on the TP (not timegated), consisting of:
20 Iron Ingots (guess you have those)
10 Steel Ingots (these as well)
20 Darksteel Ingot (same)
1 Lump of Mithrilium, which IS timegated, consisting of 50 Mithril Ore, 1 Ecto and 10 Reagent.
But, see: You can actually buy the Deldrimor Steel Ingots! And there is NO timegate on buying things of the TP. So, here’s your possibilities: either you wait day to day to make the ascended weapons, as you had before there was a bigger supply, or you pay a bit extra and buy them off the TP. Same with the Spiritwood Planks:
3 Spiritwood Planks, which cost about 4g on the TP, consisting of:
20 Soft Wood Planks,
10 Seasoned Wood Planks,
20 Hard wood Planks, (all of the above you should already have en masse)
1 Glob of Elder Spirit Residue – which, again, is timegated. But as with Deldrimor Steel Ingots, you can buy the Spiritwood Planks for a reasonable price, which cosists of:
50 Elder Wood Planks,
1 Ectoplasm
10 Reagent
_____________
1 Deldrimor Steel Greatsword Blade, – I am not if you can buy it from the Tp, but you can once again buy the mats and build them right there.
3 Deldrimor Steel Ingots
5 Piles of Crystaline Dust
50 Reagent
1 Deldrimor Steel Greatsword Hilt – completely the same as the Sword Blade.
So, you see: You can either not pay money, but wait a few days and make the weapon for free, or sell the materials you would need for the entire thing, plus a few globs of ectoplasm, in order to pay for the tp fee, and the fact that people on the tp want to make a profit as well, and make you ascended weapon in about an hour.
Specializations and the New Legendary Weapons
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: dadoppelny.7945
Yes, legendary weapons that correspond to the specialisation themes would be great. The druid staff could be the very gnarled root of an ancient tree…
But I guess this threat won’t get us really far as long as we only know about the Druid for sure, the fact that Necros get GS, Mesmers having Shields and Engi getting hammers.
But, as for new designs: No more Moots, no more Dreamer, no more Quip, no more Eternity.
I would love more “realistic” designs, like the Juggernaut. Sure, it’s huge, but it looks like a weapon that wouldn’t be impossible to wield, if you are strong enough. Also, the details, like the men holding up the glass ball filled with quicksilver is great. Another realistic design would be Howler. That is just an overdesigned warhorn, and I freaking love it. That is a weapon, or rather an instrument that the person building it put a lot of love and thought into – a warhorn designed like a wolf howling at the moon.
Then, I like weapons that have “lore” – The Flameseeker Prophecies, something that has lore carried over from Guild Wars 1. The turning oages are awesome, and the light up effect when you wield the shield is great. The other lore legendary is Rodgort. It’s a reference to two elementalist skills from gw 1.
And then, I like Kraitkin. That is a weapon that has a day-night-change done well. too bad it’s an underwater, otherwise I’d have built it long ago
I really like that idea.
I myself have a guild bank slot just for runes and sigils. Though I only safe the exotic ones, I sometimes sell the rares on the tp for a bit more coins, and the masterwork ones just… thank god the merchants have unlimited amounts of 16 copper
The simple explanation for time gateing the mats is that you have to grind a longer time to get your Ascended Gear.
That’s all. Just to make sure you invest more time in the game.
Of course, you could get your Ascended armor set in a day, and you still can, seeing as you can buy all the materials with the right money and some laurels.
On that note: If you wanted to craft ascended things, I guess you already looked up the things you need to craft them. So you probably saw that you will need damast, ghostwood, etc.
Then why didn’t you just start making the ascended materials when you were farming for the materials? Are you telling me you were running around with stacks and stacks and stacks of wood in your inventory, or did you buy ten stack+250 for your bank slots in the gemstore?
…I wouldn’t agree to have them drop more. Sure, now the bee queen is at around 1000g on the tp, but all new items are expensive shortly after they are introduced, just think about Eternal Sands. The first ones were very expensive, 500+g, and now, they are at, what, 15-20g? Same with the refractors. The first ones were also at 1000g, now the black one is at 650 (of course that one is more expensive, as black is way more loved by the playerbase than orange and green), while green and orange are at around 300. Now 300 isn’t that much of a sum. Just do some farming, sell ectos, do your arbitrary ascended material every day and 300g is not out of reach, and 600 isn’t either. It just needs dedication.
Ascended and Legendary weapons need dedication. Ambrite weapons need dedication. Doing the Luminescent Armor Collection needs dedication.
These things are long term goals. Maybe you get lucky once in a while and get one of them, so you don’t need to farm, i.e. a precursor drop, but most of the time you’ll have to invest a lot of time in order to get the item you want.
To be honest, I didn’t have a hard time with any of the luminescent armor pieces, neither with getting the pieces, nor with getting the right organs for them.
But that Coat Box… my god. It took me at least 50 successfull vinewraths, one or two fails and even some disconnects and I have not seen a single coat box, safe for the one you get from the first time defeating VR, until this morning, when I did another run. I defeated that stupid boss, and got the coat box. I felt like I was on a roll and did it again. Got another box. And even boots from the lost chests. So I kept going and got the preserved bee queen from the third run.
See. Just be patient. If you really want the armor set, go for it, keep on. Silverwastes is a great way to farm, whether it be mats from salvaging items, rares from the rare bags, and champion bags from champions, events and the chests. You really get a lot of stuff, but I guess you know that – and one magical run, the rng will be in your favor.
[SUGGESTION] Design a Weapon/Armor Contest
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: dadoppelny.7945
Yes, yes, yes! Why don’t they do this any longer?
This is a great way to encorporate people into the game in a unique way!
I’d like the Soundtrack on CD, an Artbook, a Figurine of maybe a Teragriff (though I like the trolls more, but I guess Teragriffs or the Wyverns from the trailer would be the more common choice, and I am okay with that). In case they want the figurines to be again Heroes of the Story, I would like Canach, as he seems to be more heroic in HoT, and I like him better than Caithe. That’s for physical things, don’t need much more. I really liked the credit card sized things you got back in GW1 (I had them all in my wallet as a teen), so that would be neat, but I guess they go with the cheaper paper serial codes now. Oh and I could’t care less about key rings. I’ve got so many keyrings, my god. Mario Kart, Child of Light…
As for in-game content, I would like maybe a three day headstart + beta access for those that pre-order the game, like with the original game, but that isn’t necesarily bound to CE. A minipet should be a given, maybe one of the dinosaurs or, again, the Wyverns. A special backpiece skin, mordrem vines kinda things maybe. I demand a special backpiece! Also, as I am a big fan of Aura-Items (the black, green and orange refractor + preserved bee queen), a thing that would make roots grow out of your characters feet. A unique emote for CE owners, Glider Skin, free special armor set from the gemstore (a new one for HoT, of course.)
Heck yes give us tattoo and scar armors like the monks and necros had in Prophecies. That would be nice and could fit into the tribal theme. Hylek maybe.
Oh and make it armor sets, not outfits. Outfits are nice every now and then, I really love the Arctic Explorer one, but most of the others meh.
well we’ve seen profession specific armor in the trailer for HoT… remember the druid?
https://nerdybookahs.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/gw2_heart-of-thorns_ranger_druid_044.jpg
…The shoulders seem unique, pretty cool with the branches, that staff is neat, but the chestpiece is just the T2 Norn Cultural Medium Armor. Pretty sure same applies to the Pants, definitely boots. Gloves, who cares. Concering head, that could be one of the normal norn hairstyles. Maybe it’s a new hairstyle. And maybe it’s a new piece of headgear, but to be honest, a bandana would be very disappointing. So it’s actually just a new Shoulderpiece we are seeing here. Saying it will be bound to the Druid is just an assumption with no proof, as gear with more wooden ingedients seems to be a very likely feature for heart of thorns.
All my +1 for Profession based armors. Not all armors from HoT should be Profession based, I also want some to be “culture” based, i.e. getting the ability to buy weapons and armor fromthe cultures in the jungle, hylek, itzli, etc., by progressing the mastery of learning their languages, kinda like the norn, asura, dwarven and… Ebon…thing… Rank from EotN, where you were able to buy weapons at Rank 4 and Armor at Rank 5
[suggestion] Specialization-themed outfits
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: dadoppelny.7945
Yes, give us more Profession based armor. I certainly don’t want every armor in the game to be profession based, I didn’t like that aspect in Guild Wars 1 either (I always wanted the Elite Kurzick Mesmer armor for my Elementalist >.<) but have at least a one armor for each profession and each specialisation be unique. At the moment, I can’t really think of a good armor for a druid – I think of a more cloth style armor with some pieces of wood and bark. Mixing leather and cloth. Not in terms of weight, just style.
And more cultural armor, maybe even special cultural armor from Hylek, the Itzli (or whatever their names were, I cannot remember right now) that can be obtained by mastering their languages, stuff like that.
[Suggestion] Warrior's new weapon -> Staff?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: dadoppelny.7945
…I still want spears, but since the probability of those kinda shrunk… even though they teased them and teased them and teased them, whether it was in the end scene from LS (where 3 sylvari use spears to fight people, with one of them holding the impaled body of the human warrior she killed up, which then forms into the pupil of mordremoth’s eye for a split second, and then a branch covering a bit of the moon shining above DE2.0
I put my two cents on torches, but I don’t know if they are main or off hand. Could be use to set a weapon ablaze, or set themselves ablaze, or set the enemies ablaze… and it’s the only “Melee Weapon” that’s not used yet. Shortbow seems unlikely, I dont know, they are somewhat too flimsy for warriors, same goes for scepters and staves. focus maybe, and pistols are also possible, since there is no heavy armor user with pistols.
The argument with the checkboxes is indeed very true. I don’t have a problem with most legendary weapon effects (I would prefer not to see everyones Twilight and Sunrise make gigantic swirls of… sky… in front of my eyes) or all the weird stuff that is going on when using Moot, but the more “easy on the eyes”-effects, like the Juggernaut, the Flameseeker, Rodgort, or Howler, I’m really fond of. Footprints aren’t a problem either.
But I can see these things annoying other players, especially if your PC is not the greatest. A very deep level of costumization, as stated by hamfast, where you can toggle certain effects, like footprints, “on body effects” like the Juggernauts or Rodgorts, Projectile Effects as seen with the legendary pistol and the Dreamer, Auras, Swooshes, etc. etc. what is still to come would be very much appreciated.
The argument about the Aura Items being Infusions: I am not sure. Of course, it would be great, as a) the items would be account bound (I’m glad I realised I could put the refractor on my Karka Shell Accessoire, which is an Acc Bound exotic). My concern was that not every player would be able to get ascended gear, but seeing how easily laurels are obtained now, and how getting ascended trinkets from the LS Achievements is relatively easy, that actually wouldn’t be too much of a problem. Just make us able to choose whether we want the Aura-Item to be Offensive or Defensive.
I say yes to more Aura-Items, will all kinds of effects and colours, so everybody can be happy. Swarms of bees are awesome, fire is awesome, colours are awesome, smoke is awesome, a Mist Form Effect would be awesome, and for those who like comic relief (to be honest, I hate the designs of the legendary pistol and the Dreamer…) even confetti or something.
Just don’t make them drop all over the place, have them bound to certain areas and bosses and make them as rare as they are now.
