I’ve played from Headstart as well. I got my first and only pre-cursor drop about 2-3 weeks after launch. the Trident (Venom? idk) dropped from a Hylek in WvW. I sold it for 12g ( a lot of money at the time) because I play a thief and couldn’t use it.

We have already gotten confirmation that Tequatl getting stronger has a reason in the Living World, so it is most likely bigger than just “He got stronger for some random reason”.

I agree, they should have used the story. as it sits tho, there ISN’T a story. The current update as good as it is gameplay wise has a terrible story, it seriously seems like the Sept 17th LS team said “we want to revamp the boss fights, so instead of a living story, we are going to focus on that for our release”
Then someone from the head shed was like “Ok cool, but we will catch major flak for saying that we would release a LS update every 2 weeks if we don’t include some form of LS…just throw Rox in there somewhere and call it good”

and when the gamers are like..where is the STORY? they say “oh we have a story for now it’s helping Rox track down a dragon footprint…..umm we’ll tell you about it later”

Not really, If they just said “We revamped the teq fight to make it more dragon-worthy, this is what it should have been all along sorry it sucked before” I don’t think anyone or at least very few people would have batted an eye at why the dragon got stronger.

I salvaged 4 rares last night and got 8 ectos 2 rares produced 3 each while 2 produced 1 each and 2 produced none.

What I don’t understand is why they needed to make it a living story update. Why didn’t they just change the fight/add achievements etc and say “Hey guys, we made Teq an awesome fight now, worthy of a dragon this is what we should have had from the start”

Then the time line(of this fight anyways) would be irrelevant.

I think people should stop looking at it as a Living Story update and look at it as it really is: revamped mechanics for a fight.

ANet seems to have gotten tied into the “We WILL have Living Story updates every 2 weeks” statement so they were forced to turn this fight into a living story update when it shouldn’t have been.

You’re making more gold than them by pressing 1 on champions, so where’s the big deal? They’re doing a service for up to four people, you’re not.

I don’t think its the act of selling seats that is the issue. Some people have ran through to the last boss then kicked 1 or 2 people and sold the slots that those people they kicked had worked for.

Notice what his post said, and what my question was about it (because I too worried like you that it would be detectable) it says sick em will apply revealed to their TARGET meaning unless they worded it incorrectly, that the thief has to be out of stealth already for sick em to affect them. If that’s the case, and I think it is, Most thieves can evade for 3 seconds while they wait for the revealed debuff to wear off.

How about if you are bleeding you can’t go invis cause people can see your blood trail.

Can be balanced by it being triggered after a certain # of stacks.

That would basically ruin the trait in Shadow Arts that removes 1 condition every 3 seconds.

I play a thief, I don’t run a stealth build all that often, so it doesn’t affect me personally that much but I’m curious about:

Ranger
Sick ‘Em will now apply ‘Revealed” to enemies they target. We want to introduce some counter play to Stealth (players have asked for that for a while), so we thought a pet “catching your scent” might be a cool way to insinuate some anti-stealth into the game.

Wondering if for sure they will have to target the person to apply the revealed, thus preventing them from going into stealth, or is this something that will be used to pull enemies out of stealth? And how long will the Revealed debuff last?

I am fairly certain that the lag spikes is due to the increased server load because of the culling removal tests. I went from getting 25-35 fps in the zerg to getting 10-15 in areas with no other people around.

Looks like I might need to upgrade my pc.

This is actually a great trait to run in WvW because it increases the damage output of arrow carts and other siege equipment.

Yes it should be that all characters get birthday presents on the 28th to not alienate them.

Just like everyone should get a present on your own birthday so that they don’t feel alienated because they would otherwise have to wait til their birthday to receive a gift.

This. I have absolutely no complaints about the difficulty of the fight, the 1 shot mobs or aoe, the problem I have is that I cant see much because I play a Norn.
I don’t come to the forums and complain much, I usually just enjoy the game and as a admitted fanboy, over look the problems. But PLEASE ANET PLEASE do SOMETHING about the camera angles

You people are so silly. its a in game hat, gives no stat advantages. The people who were at that game convention got a GW2 in game t shirt. people who purchased before sept 1st got a gw2 ball cap… so you got something no one else has, why shouldn’t the people who buy now get something you dont have?

In regard to 2v1 in truth the only reason bg readily call out this accusation is because there have been quotes from both servers talking about teaming up and pushing bg from T1. Obv 2v1 happens in wvwvw, but when you have members claiming they want to team up to push us out…did you expect us to not notice? I know that 1 or 2 guilds/people don’t speak for the whole server, but (and i very well may have missed it happening) just as you would expect us to call out our bad apples, we expected you to call out yours, and ofc by bad
apple i don’t mean to imply that the people are bad, just that they made our respective servers look bad.

All in all good fights, Beastgate will be back in T1 again, so don’t forget about us.
Oh and for the record we were Beastgate before the transfers from the bandwagon, and we’ll be Beastgate after the bandwagon is gone, the players who made us Beastgate have been on bg since day 1.

The most believable sylvari/dragon theory I have read is
That the pale dragon is an ED champion, being planted by and thus influenced by the ventari tablet caused the pale tree to change from its naturally corrupted nature, either willingly (like Glint) or subconsciously and become the good loving tree that it is now. The nightmare court realizes this and are trying go return the sylvari of the pale tree to their originally corrupted dragon serving state. This might explain why that one sylvari you meet in the personal story didnt know about the dream/nightmare, because as there are multiple claws of jormag, there are multiple pale trees.

I cant remember where I read all of this so I can’t provide a source. Probably on gw2guru tho.

well forgive me, if i was wrong about the orb @ SI bl since im just reading posts from teammates on their side but definitely the one on BG bl is a VERIFIED hack… please do NOT make excuses for it.

Verified by who? So far I have seen no SS’s of a hacker. If you want to call BG out for hacking, go for it, but provide proof when you do. If indeed It was hacked, I apologize for the underhanded tactics of someone on my server. As I assume you would if the shoe was on the other foot. But until a screen shot proving it was hacked is provided, don’t say it is “verified”.

Hello, I personally purchased a Rare set of Explorers gear off the TP. It depends on your personal build which type of MF gear you want. Explorer’s is Power/Precision and Travelers is Power/Condition damage. They both have the same MF . I believe Explorers is craftable where as travelers is found via drops.
When I bought my gear I think I paid less than 3g for the gear, and 6 Superior Runes of the Pirate(50 MF + a parrot)

TC isn’t the weaker server though. They are. It would also make sense for them to work with us against BG but I think they’re capping stuff because they’re desperate to get points so that we both get pushed down to Tier 4, which I understand.

Think about it like this. TC is in 2nd place with 89k points or so, FA is last with 72k, If FA wants to stay in T3 instead of moving down to T4 they need to over take TC in score. The easiest way to do this is make sure TC doesn’t get points on the score board so that FA’s score continues to go up and TC’s score stays the same. If FA allies with TC, and attacks BG, both FA and TC’s points rise(potentially if they succeed in attacking BG) which keeps them in 3rd place.

So you are saying that the real issue is the stealth combined with culling. So what do you suggest? crippling the thief by removing stealth until they get the culling fixed? And there is nothing I can do about thieves with speed hacks. Except report it when I see it same as anyone else.

and Nylena, it makes more tactical sense for them to attack the weaker of the two opponents. Same reason BG pushed on IOJ last matchup when we were losing by a landslide.

@ the stealth qq’ers please realize that the problem is not permanent stealth, it is the rendering /culling issue that makes it so you cant see thieves after they already are out. We’ve all been killed by it, we all know its a problem, the Devs know its a problem. So please stop qqing about stealth which can be countered because when stealthed we still take damage the same as when we aren’t stealthed. And focus on the real problem.

After the update I logged back in and began gathering at the large clump of cypress saplings, but there was something I had never noticed before, The ground was covered in vines that spread all over, and crippled and bled on a tick. Has this always been there? Or is it new?

I feel like the same thing is happening on Blackgate this week that happened last week on our IoJ/SBI matchup. people from blackgate left to one or the other because they were winning. And on the same token people are coming to BG because we are winning.

And I just wanted to say to all of you who were fighting to re-take pangloss when we took it yesterday evening. That was a blast. We held our own but you all got us eventually.

Indeed not. I have spent ~6g on gems, with the intention of saving them for when inflation hits, I had 1850ish gems, I am down to 1100 now because i spent a few on other things to see if the market would allow buying stuff like mini’s and such to bring in a profit(unless you get really lucky it doesnt btw) but the 1100 I have will only net me around 3.2g as of last week. I only bought gems when I could get more than 400 gems per gold, so 1100 gems cost me about 2.75g the profit margin just isn’t worth it.
