2 hours might not be a big deal to many but it is too some people.

You can’t call other people entitled just because it is not a big deal for you.

Suppose servers were rolled back for a week, I doubt that would go down well with many here who were happy enough with this rolled back.
I would be fine with it, can I call you “entitled” if you wanted compensation?

I’m getting the black screen of death a lot recently.

The screen just fades to black but the game cursor is still available. Is this another one of the beta bugs with the Mac client?

I’m not well verse in technology, but last I read in the forum GW2 still uses DX9 right?

If they could get a OpenGL version of the client working, then they can get a Mac client up and running, and improve the performance of the Windows version by going to OpenGL no? Assuming OpenGL is somehow better than DX9?

MMOs should take a page from Minecraft, no missions, quests, objectives or story. Just a open world for you to explore and build stuff. Don’t give players content, give them the tools so they make their own content.

I would end GW2 with a dragons wiping the everything. Then in GW3, each race has to rebuild their empires, the entire Tyria is free for all. Old alliances between races have broken down, they now compete with each other over land and resources. Players can build structures anywhere, from small cottages by single players, to megacities by thousands of players that act as social hubs.

Some structures will perish but some may survive years of RvR conflict, and players in three years time still hangout in a city made by XYZ guild at launch.

We need stat switching on non-legendary items first. At the moment, the more builds you play, the more storage you need. The cost of storage prohibits many from having many sets of gear on their characters.

I do find it ironic how they nerfed stability to function at stacks yet they introduced resistance which is duration based and make you immune the the effects of conditions.

We do have better boon removal now to offset the old stability if it came back.

I like the idea of player built worlds, something like Minecraft.

It would be great because stories wouldn’t be about pre-written lore, the players themselves are the lore. We would be talking about some city a guild built two years ago that is still standing. The bridge a group of players built and named themselves.

They should come up with a formula to depreciate the player’s initial gem cost to calculate refunds. So if you spend 700 on a tool and had it for a 15 months you would get 450 back. Whereas someone who just bought it last week will get 699 or something, depending on the formula.

The problem I have is without a clear and somewhat fair policy on handling these conflicts, my confidence in the gem store is decreased. What if I buy these account slots today and 1-2 years down the line, Anet implement something else that screws me over?

The only feelings I get from the gem store right now is uncertainty and instability.

Can we have a way to turn off tooltips. When we already know what every skill does, there is no need for tooltips and for us on small screens, they obscure our view of the battlefield.

It’s really becoming a nuisance being spammed with “XXX has taken YYY” during fights. The popup is positioned in bad position where suddenly it can block a enemy raid you are keeping an eye on.

Please give some way to turn this off.

Screen real estate

One of the things that has become a real nuisance is the pop ups in WvW saying “Bla bla bla has captured bla bla bla”. For me who is play on a small laptop screen blocks my view.

There are other things like tooltips, on a small screen the tooltips are very big when you hover over a skill. I wish there was a way to turn these off.

Even the events guide on the right of the screen, they like to un-minimise themselves and become a huge nuisance taking up a good portion of my view on the right of the screen.

We need options to be able to turn things off.

At the moment it feels like Anet are showing us silver and expecting us to pay the price of gold for it. We have no assurance that the silver will turn to gold, and if you pay you run the risk of it turning to dirt.

The client downloaded some files today and since then my FPS has dropped to 10. Something in the latest patch has completely tanked my fps.

It’s a travesty that a game that allows for different builds offers so little to help in terms of changing gear.

I know nothing stops you from getting different gear stats but you cannot deny that there is significant overhead in doing so. Want to try a full healing power build? Be prepared for it to take up 18 storage slots. Want another berserker set with different runes? Another 18 slots.

The system simply isn’t scalable and is more suitable to “choose one build and stick with it” mentality. It was akin to what the skin system was like before the locker came. Bank spaces were littered with back piece skins and such, it was silly.

Also factor in the storage problem. A person trying other builds needs to spend time getting the gear but is also punished because the gear needs more storage space.

It used to be like this with skin hunters, they were punished for collecting skins until the wardrobe came along.

GW2 has nice clean UI and stuff but on a small screen some things take up way too much space. On my Macbook Air when playing WvW the the right side of the screen is full of event information and my field of view is already reduced significantly by this. Collapsing them doesn’t work because they re-appear uncollapsed very often.

The chat box which I keep on the bottom left has space wasted right below it. We should be able to move the chat bottom so right into the bottom corner to make use of that space.

The target selection box at the top middle of the screen is takes a bit of space. It seems to have a “invisible box” aspect to it makes place AoE on top areas of the screen a pain.

We need some kind of minimalistic UI.

They just need better skills and have mobs use player skills as well. Remember how in GW1 if you stacked together, mobs would murder you. Maelstrom stopping your casters, Blurred Vision affecting everyone, Spiteful Spirit killing your own teammates etc…

What likely happened was there is a development region, a test region and a live region. An intern unfortunately mistook test for development so accidentally wrote the change in there. Test is actually the environment for builds that are just about to go live.

Population imbalance

Populations will never balance out so long as you have one continent on one set of servers and another continent on another set of servers.

It’s like trying to solve gender imbalance in male and female toilets. Of course you are going to run into coverage issues when the other side of the world who ought to be your night force are on their own servers.

The way I see it, the content they realise now is like giving a boy more and more DVDs. He might get entertained on each new DVD for a while but it will wear off and you need to keep supplying DVDs.

At some point you’re better for just buying him a lego set and let him create his own content.

Somewhere down the line when ascended crafting starts dying down when everyone has what they want, we will be back to the same problem of oversupply. What do you do then? Jack up requirements to 200? To me it is a short sighted adjustment.

They ought to have introduced good consumables that can burn away at the supply forever.

For 15 seconds, enemy boons have no effect. Radius 1200m

Frozen Soil – Trap
For 10 seconds, enemies in the area cannot be rallied. Radius 1200m

Spiteful Spirit – Trap
For 5 seconds, when enemies in the area gain a boon, that boon is convert immediate to a condition.

Ward Against Melee – Trap
When triggered, enemies in a radius of 1200m have 50% chance of missing on melee attacks.

Things that need nerfing to demote zerging.

1. Soldier runes.
2. Condition to boon conversion.
3. Lemongrass
4. Traiting healing rain

It was well known that the change would hit mix-matches much more. Balanced builds don’t have 2200 power like full berserkers does and it means their direct damage comes largely from investing in critical damage which multiplies on the lower power. Now that multiplier has been nerfed and the delicate balance that mix-matchers have achieved is broken.
