I think people should stop think about the trinity as a rigid role system. There is no doubt that traditional MMOs implemented the trinity in a manner that lacks flexibility. GW2 wanted to break free from this and for a while I bought into the whole “no trinity” hype.
To me the trinity should have been kept but evolved into a dynamic form. Every class should have the ability to shift between tank, damage and healer during battles. This avoids needing classes but takes advantage of dynamic combat that GW2 aims to achieve.
One huge problem I have with ground targeting on Macbook is that VERY often the green circle will centre on my character and I can’t move the circle at all. I have to deactivate and reactivate the ground target to be able to move it again.
It’s very annoying when activating a static field say in WvW, I’m trying to activate it quickly but it just defaults to my location.
My stance is that stat switching is a quality of life feature that ought to be rolled out to ascended and even exotics.
Give legendary users automatic access to all combos and lets ascended/exotic uses collect and build on their stat library.
though it has been 5 months since this topic was posted, i feel that a bump is necessary, since every now and then there are often a lot of people asking for something similar like this. clearly, there is a strong demand for such a feature, we just need to rally everyone who supports this feature together.
Just no. Doesn’t make anet money. and those that spent a lot of gold to make different stats weapons/ legendaries will suffer a great nerf.
This would not be true because the person who has all the different ascended stats would have those stats unlocked. A person who only has a berserker weapon will not have anything else to switch to until he unlocks other stats.
Has any server trying mass life stealing the knights? During the condition reflection stage, damage is low but critical hits still work so if everyone ate a pie, it could shave off some time.
Playing with a Macbook, this would be a welcome change!
Stat switching for ascended!
They had the festival hat maker in Guild Wars 1. You show him the hat and he remembers it forever, you can go back to him to make hats he knows over and over.
Battle Standard is ridiculous. No warning, no indicator. Just death from above.
I tried doing fractals with only exotics once. I died.
Give an option to switch stats for ascended gear. Problem solved.
I have been saying this forever.
Give an option with a few days or week cd.
Legendary still stays top tier and and Ascended would actually have some worth.
But, No one seemed to interested in that ideal.
It’s not that no one is interested. It’s Anet that isn’t interested because they’re too busy holding conferences on how to milk more money from casuals.
The issue has always existed and a handful of people saw the issue ages ago even before ascended gear came out. Every gear slot should be a drop down box that lets you choose stats and runes you have unlocked for that specific slot.
Stat unlocking on ascended! Make it happen ante!
Top of my list is OOC stat switching for other gear other than legendaries and it really ought to be expanded to sigils and runes.
This suggestion will make my opinion on GW2 do a 180!
MBA Mid 2013
Running on lowest settings, WvW was smooth before the update.
After the update, even medium fights lag.
1. A deficient itemisation system that limits the extent to which you can create builds.
2. Not enough unique skills. In GW we had hexes that had very specific functions and also protection spells as well. GW2 feels like every other skill is just another form of damage and more damage.
3. Removal of trinity feels more like a step back. In my opinion, they ought to have went forward and made every class capable of roles switching on the fly like swapping attunements. Fights can be made much harder requiring co-ordinated damage burst, mass healing bunkering to recover from big attacks.
We pay gold and BoH for WvW gear though.
Shadow Form
Sliver Armor
Ahaha, Sliver Armour would be pure slaughter against a melee train.
Simple reason. Walls look impressive, cliffs are not.
I have an idea, give legendaries stat and skin choosing ability. They have access to all stats and you can also add skins to the “skin bank” to choose from.
Ascended stuff – stats choosing only.
The line that comes to mind is.
“Give players the means to try different setups without having to keep 5 different armour sets and weapons in their bags.”
Maybe we should all wait for Legendary armour and jewellery. You’ll never have the get another set of armour and you’ll have access to every stat and conceivable combination, once you have full legendary gear. Of course, this is not going to be achievable by the majority.
Anet have themselves to blame, on one hand they made a game where you have many different builds yet on the other they create an itemisation system that inhibits experimentation. The most practical thing is only changing traits.

Perhaps they could make the transmutation crystals the agent for adding into the locker maybe?
It’s gotten very tedious now. Multiple characters with so many different armour sets and weapons. Sometimes they’re just the same ones with different runes and sigils.
It’s about time we got some kinds of skin and stat locker system.
I carefully designed my builds in WvW, with thresholds like 40% crit damage, 25% crit chance etc. This change completely messes all that up.
GW2 NGE…
People have spent too much effort and time on gear which Anet is going to render useless overnight.
Fix one leg by breaking the other.
Only 15k killshot? That is low, killshot can do much better than that.
Regeneration from staff 2 is very nice when you have high healing power.
Numbers don’t tell lies, period. Take a look at this two builds
One is full ascended and the other is full exotic. The effective power on the ascended build is 14% higher than the exotic build. That to me is very significant.
That’s because you’re doing it wrong.
Well… not doing it wrong… looking at it wrong. Combat in GW2 isn’t about what you can put out for damage (at least from a WvW perspective). There are also factors that involve damage reduction or prevention as well. That 14% perceived advantage can be negated with a single dodge for example timed well. When you look beyond the “perfect example against a dummy just standing there”, the reality is that even that 14% doesn’t mean squat in the grand scheme of things.
If you did +200% damage, it can also be negated by a well timed dodge. But what is your point? Because surely that doesn’t mean +200% damage “means squat in the grand scheme of things”.
The different between you and I is that I don’t take shades of grey, because if you allow for it, developers start pushing it. What if they release more tiers of gear until it reaches YOUR threshold of significance?
In my last game they actually started selling stat increases in their store. At first the increase was small and people defended it saying “oh the increase is insignificant”. The developers started pushing the line further and further, and suddenly the stats increase is not so insignificant as it once was. Credit to all the defenders who supported it to happen, even they were annoyed when suddenly powerful high ranking skills could be bought in the store.

I just hope we get a skin and stat locker soon.
Even Vabbi has people spying on SFR. Watch out!
I like it when topics like these pop up, they highlight some of the true burdens that players face in the game.
In my last game LOTRO, we had legendary weapons that come in three forms, 3rd age, 2nd age and 1st age. Everytime the level rose, the developers will put in 3rd ages at the new level but leave out the others. Once people have spend time and money perfecting their 3rd ages, they release 2nd ages so players will have to dispose of the 3rd ages. Then a while later they will introduce 1st ages to render all the work spent on 2nd ages useless. After another while, low and behold, another level cap rise and then the higher level 3rd age does way more damage than your hard earned 1st age that you raided for.
A skin wardrobe and stat locker!
This was part of my bombing combo but now it’s a pain to get it off.
Ascended gear has killed it for me.
Where are the Quebecs?
Suddenly, I starting viewing Anet in a different light. Thank you so much!
This is Piken you’re talking about, we never double team, only our enemies double team us.
When people think of trinity people think of fixed roles and certainly that was one of the drawbacks of it.
However removing the trinity has been a step back because you removed a lot of the potency of groups and diluted the power curves so that you can’t actually throw difficult content at the players.
Guild Wars one might not have tanks but there was protection and healing, this mean you could design mobs to be harder because players have the tools to handle it.
I think an issue worth considering is that the TP is the only market maker in town. I would have like for players to form markets and allow for people to get better deals than TP if they are willing to put time to find them.
I personally will only ever convert gems to gold if I had a very specific reason to do so, for example buying an pre-cursor. It makes no sense for me to convert real cash to gems purely out of investment.
Golden rule, when one on one is simply too hard, bring friends!
Nothing dishonourable.
I suggest this a while ago. Start off with an unspoiled map with quarries, forests, mines, spread around the map.
Each faction starts in their spawn and must do their own building of other towers. How those towers look is up to you, where you place them is up to you.
Wherever you build, dolyaks must transport materials to the location. This means you need to think about the logistics when building. No point building something miles away that the supply chain can easily be broken and progress is stopped.
Much of erma-boon stacking comes from conversions. Vulnerability goes right into protection, burns turn to aegis, bleeds turn to regen etc…
