Also they said: We dont want “holy trinity” (tank\healer\dd) in a game. But now… raids looks like… they want brin it back (and it works terrible… because basic sistem still the same).

Further to Zoltar’s points, I’d like to clarify that you are confusing “exploration” with “quest”. They do not mean the same thing at all! There are thousands of players who play the game Elite: Dangerous and simply fly off into the stars. There is no limit to the distance they can fly (unless their ship can’t handle huge jumps later on). There is also no reward for flying out there. Players simply go out there to look at new and cool places in the chill atmosphere of their ship (and stream their findings on Twitch). And yet it’s still an MMO..

You means Columbus sailed in search of new land because he wanted to look at the stars?

Not for new territory, gold, trade, fame (which means real things)?

Sorry agane but… “exploration” realy means some sort of quest. Exploration without any good, real reason\reward – it’s just… walking (sleepwalking) but not “exploration”.

So.. i’m realy doubt whats “thousands of players” realy like walking around new (painfull) map just for “go out there to look at new and cool places”. First days – yep.. may be. but not now.

And if you want…. living map (not dead one) you better create it a bit more… comfortable for playing. Or maybe Annet prefer 5% (sleepwalkers) more than other 95% ppl….

Sorry… BUT, here we have ONLY bad and worse category.

Because “good” things which you wrote, works only WITHOUT all bad things. For exampl:
- You said: ….. \“Ignored by most people sooner or later. Hard content without good reward”\….
So, how legend armor can be “good things” with this?
- Or “Class diversity”. Bad LFG sistem kill it. + basic mechanics are still a same (which means no holy trinity tank\healer\dd and it’s good, but it’s also means – NO “Class diversity”). Class diversity – just doesnt works good.
If Annet wants “Class diversity” they must change basic mechanics (but i dont think it’s a good idea + it means they must rebuild all game. dont think this even CAN’T be possible). If not – they must change raids mechanics, which is hard but POSSIBLE.

- Challenging content – same like legend armor. works ONLY without bad things. For now it’s not challenge it’s just a….. flout.

(P.S. you are realy think – someone need challenge?
Nah… ppl needs ONLY illusion of challenge. And it’s normal, and good. Because… you know – challenge with PC? ha-ha-ha.. PC faster stronger and smarter than you are. In real challenge you havnt any chance. So it’s all just a… show.
No one like feels themself like a looser. Ppl just want kill boss after a few try (they call it – challenge). If they cant do it – they just throw game (this is only one option if you want kill PC in a real challenge:)).)

For new players, You may take half a year to create your raid characters.

If your a new player, raids should be on the back burner! It is for top-end level progression. It should take alot of knowledge of the game to succeed.

Sorry.. but agane:
Raid-boss tactic (for now) not much harder than tactic for common dungeon. Everyone can check it in youtube or any other service.

Reason for pain – bad mechanics. It looks “raw” and “unfinished”.

Dont know like you folks. But i think: Fight aganst boss – good. Fight aganst stupid idea and painful mechanics – it’s bad (it’s not challenge – it’s just stupid).

“Exploration Maps Idea”

This words sound good for single RPG. But in MMORPG… sorry but it’s just bull s…

Why? It’ easy! Whats means exploration and why man likes it?

Exploration – it’s a serching for SOMETHIN SPECIAL. Usualy serching for treasures. Quest. BUT we cant create such things it MMORPG.
Because here we have 2 options:
1) We create REAL “special treasures” (just for you) – and ppl who found it will gain an advantage. Say bye-bye to balace=bad for MMORPG.
2) We create FAKE “special treasures” (Annet has done just that) – and ppl who found it didnt get any real “special” advantage. In this case all it looks like not “exploration” but like a… stupid farming (best) or just like a stupid joke… fake (worse).

Wait folks.

Raid sistem are terrible for now.

BUT! It’s not about difficuly! (tactic looks preaty easy). It’s all about terrible mechanics:

1) LFG sistem – it’s just pain. No, even more – it’s pain from stone age. Especially with such a multi-functional build-sistem like in GW2. Screaming all option in a map chat?!!? They just bullied!
2) First Annet says – “We havnt tank\healer\dd sistem!!”. Now, looks like they changes mind. And it works bad (or better say – doesnt works) because basic mechanics still same.
3) Crafting\gathering new gear ONLY for raids – it’s not very nice. And even more… for exampl today we need one more condition dd in a raid – tomorrow we need tank or zerker… so i must keep all this different gear-set in my bag? Weapons\armor\trinkets i havnt so much space…
4) Many profession will be cut from raids. It’s all about bad balance – old story for GW2… but in dungeon it wasnt so important (because dungeon – it’s easyer than raid – so even not-meta party can do it without problem). But now (with raids) bad balance can kill many profession.
5) One of the main reason for wipe in a raids it’s:
:):):)
– To much animation effects it this game. (it’s another OLD problem in GW2), and same – it wasnt so important in dungeon. But in raids – it’s just pain… 10 man (usualy with legend skins) = you are almost blind. You cant avoid AOE because you cant see “red circle” (nah.. you can’t see even yours own as… some time).

And more…. and more…. and more…. Sorry just dont want write “text-wall”.

I just can say one more time – looks like someone payed Annet for this HoT… wipe. Because big company just cant do such “baby bug”.

Sure, i regret!

- No new dungeon
- No new fractal
- New map disign with endless jumping puzles – are horrible.
- Raid sistem – are terrible:
1)no normal LFG sistem….
2)basic mecchanics havnt “holy trinity” tank\healer\DPS, but now they trying brin it back – and it works realy bad
3) build sistem was overloaded… just tonns of useles stat combinations.
4) many professions just cant doing raid realy good. (especialy place where you need condition dmg)
- nerf everywere (dungeon LFG just empty for now, no one playing dungeon anymore – it’s rely bad for new player).

Dont know how ppl can be happy about all this. Think “happy” ppl – it’s just troll or “co-booster”.

Tantled Depths

It’s a terrible map. way too convoluted, the meta never goes through…. Horrible horrible map.

Agreed. And it’s not only about 1 map. All new map have same… limitations. Just Tangled Depths – most horrible.

Looks like Annet dont understand few simple things:

1) Ppl – are not a fish! So… 95% of people feels bad in this place (full vertical 3D). It’s just basic… psychology. It’s even worse than true ocean or sky, because sky or ocean it’s same “full vertical 3D” BUT without maze…. So i think even fish dont like this map.

2) “impressive” – it’s a good key-word for muvie… But… game must be comfortable! It’s a first task! Because we must interact with game, not only look.

3) New map disign looks completely NOT like the original GW2. Such fundamental changes – it’s like selling “hot-dogs” in a “Dunkin’ Donuts”. In this case you can be sure – you lose a lot of customers, in a blink of a eye.

If seriously… i dont think what Annet can do such… “baby-bug”. So… more looks like someone payed them for this… wipe. (if not – they are totaly dumb)

And the strangest thing that the company began to destroy the things that made the GW2 classic – so popular. Looks like developers… just went crazy.

-Maps in HoT have… questionable design. I see many ppl who didnt like… “vertical map sistem”. It’s can be realy uncomfortable. Those maps are realy… chaotic. And i dont like it too.
-Many bugs (events, HP, even story line).
-We didnt got new dungeon (many ppl like dungeon and fractal. i can see many guilds who doing ONLY fractal\dungeon). It’s one of the main cores of any MMRPG – and we didnt got it!
- And yep – stupid hero-points sistem and grind.

Ok… some things not bad – like music (but not much).

I was glad to see hero points / moments that simply couldn’t be soloed and required some guild/map communication to get at least one or two people to help you out.

Buls s…

You dont need any… “communication”. You can kill all those champs just with 2 random man (or even alone but it’s a bit harder and longer). Guilds just makes it’s slower, because you must organize guild mates first.

Just we have few HUGE problems before killing.
1) you must spend a lot of time for farming “specializations”.
2) you must find it (it means you must spend a lot of time for a stupid jumping puzless). For now map chat are full of cry, like: “i hate this map”, “i dont like JP”, why i cant find it" etc And i can understand it. Because I HATE JUMPING PUZZLES TOO! never liked it. (sure.. i know some ppl like JP. but 90% – not and this ppl must have choice!!)

It’s a first game where ppl cant got new skills (which they bought for a good money) because they must doing jumping puzzles for this… It’s just a complete nonsense.

In the end we have toons of grind, and stupid mechanics!! Nothin to be glad about.

Hmm imo you are in the wrong game, if you care only for dungeons and fractals GW2 is not for you. GW2 has a blend of different game types and you cannot escape from some of them. Also, when you leveled up your character you were getting hero points only at the open world, via challenges or mini puzzles. Why you expect things to be different now?

You crazy? or join the game few weeks ago?

In GW 2 classic you got skill points (HP now days) just when you get “lvl-up” (regardless of content).

All this story about jumping and hero-points – it’s just last update (bad update)

It’s not the same game though. This is why GW2 is different from every MMORPG. And these are more GP instead of JP. – Gliding Puzzle

Bull s… Classic GW2 was a totaly NORMAL MMRPG. Good MMRPG. With a same main core – PvP. PvE. WvW.

People may not bother with any nonsense in classic GW2, and just play. That’s why people loved GW2.

I do not understand why annet destroy it…

Well you don’t have to explore the jungle to get hero points, you can also pvp in WvW.

Nah.. even with 250%+ buster (birhday buster+kill-streak buster+EX buster) it’s VERY slow. Especially on those painfull maps.

The first two map can still be tolerated (hardly, realy hardly), but the third just annoying.

If someone loves to fly and jump – he can play Assasins creed or something similar (where this has been done a lot better). BUT to turn the game into one big jumping puzzle- it’s just unforgivable.
Perhaps the author likes JP. But what about people who do not like?

I’m totaly agree with the author!

Classic GW2 – it’s a realy good game. But HoT – just terrible. for the same money I could buy new fallout and a half of witcher! But i spend it for HoT.
AND WHAT I GOT?
I’m even cant get new specializations, beacause i never liked jumping puzzles – so this crazy new maps just… unplayable for me.
I’m still sit in LA with my old build! I got nothin! even more than nothin – I got a headache. I want try new builds in a fractal, but i cant! I dont understand why.
Why annet force me to do stupid jumping puzzles. I just want play NORMAL PvE and PvP.
HoT – real waste of money…

It’s only been 3 days. If you haven’t unlocked all the masteries it’s not the end the world. Just play the game guys.

Just play the game? This is exactly what I want! And i dont understand why annet force me to do stupid jumping puzzles.

Main core of every MMRPG is: PvP (unranked-casual and ranked). PvE (dungeons and raids). WvW (or “open PvP”).

jumping puzzes has always been… a some sorts of additional content (just for fun). BUT! In HoT JP has become a central part. Now it’s not MMRPG anymore… it’s crazy quest with jumping puzzles.

I bought MMRPG (not quest) and i hate JP. I can spend some time for specialization – np… BUT not in a stupid jumping!!! I gave good money for this game.

I – WANT PLAY THE GAME! I WANT PLAY PvP and PvE! AND I WANT NEW SPECIALIZATIONS…..
But i dont want ravings of a mad “super Mario”.

The Tempest and reaper looks cool? – yep true…
The Dragonhunter looks like… strange ranger… with an uncertain role? – yep true…
The Chronomancer hasn’t any real difference against mesmer? – agane – true…

But! Guys… if we talking about PvE…. i think you’re missing one big thing about… “specialization”.
And this thing is: For now most common “LFG” sounds like – "ONLY “meta build” (2ele, 1 thief, 1 war, 1 gward)". It’s realy bouring, but it works…
So… Sorry my french but … How, the hell, new “tempest” (or any other of the above) specialization can change it?

I mean, it looks like, common staff build (if we talking about ele, still have more DPS)…. And mesmer and necro still have lower DPS than common “meta build party”.

In the end we have realy good specialization (i’m realy like it… m\b except “dragon-humster”)…that no one will use! Because ppl say:kitten#8230; let’s kick this low-dps-junk from party!

IMHO: DLC must change main rule not only… scenery. For example: for now we have sistem with 4 “PVE professions” (war\ele\thief\gward), and 5 “PvPprofessions” (mesmer\engineer\necro\hunter\and thef). Sure, you can play all you want! But I’m talking about the average data.

So… why not to change it? I mean – Ideally all profession must be good in both direction.

But m\b i’m – wrong and Annet just wants convert game in to full PvP game. Without any good PvE content… yet, it looks like ..
