As all you know, S/D has been nerfed beyond playability. I don’t want to irritate myself seeing how underpowered my pretty barely satisfying thief now is, so until the next patch I intend to use a cheese build, just for fun and to try and keeep playing.

So I was looking for a P/D build (traits, armor and runes/sigils), or any other you’d recommend, just to irritate other players and just get the most “OMFG N00B Ch33s3 SUCKER” out of people as I can.

Also, can I tPVP with people from a EU server?

I’ve been playing for a long time now, and just recently some friends joined the game. I’m on Blackgate, which is full, so I might have to change servers now in order to play with them :/

Is there any difference between servers? Also, for a guy defecting BG, which server would you suggest?

My 2¢:

I’m in Brazil, running it from both laptop and desktop on a 50mb connection. All internet works fine (browsing, streaming, downloading) on both devices. GW2 runs perfect on my desktop, but I got the same error and lag as you guys on my laptop (yes, the hardware can take the game just fine). Desktop works like a charm.

Problem started some time ago, I guess May, and only on my laptop. It’s clean of malware and viruses. Already did a reinstall.

Also, game seems to drop skype connection, but killing skype does not take the error away.

Also, got the error:

“The game client lost it’s connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again. (Code=7:11:3:191:101)

Here are my specs:

Windows 8
CPU: 4th Gen Core i5 4200U
4 GB RAM
GPU: DDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 740M de 2 GB

I’m playing at minimum specs.

Thing is, as said before, in this very same notebook I played GW2 other times just fine! I reinstalled the game and although I don’t get the error message anymore, it’s like I havea monstrous lag. And I d/l the game at almost 2mb/s, so internet is fine!

The OP uses this for PVP??

Hi all.

I have both PC and Laptop, both capable of running the game.

Recently I’ve started having this problem on the laptop only: game logins fast, quickly loads character selection screen and loads fast to the game world. In game world, it’s like I have a ultra, impossible lag. Minutes later, game crashes, either to a black screen or back to the character selection screen.

Again, this only happens on my laptop, and I play in the minimum settings, to reduce any kind of lag! Also it doesn’t matter where I am in the world, exacly.

Anyway, both and laptop are connected to a 50mb internet, both on wireless. All other internet servicer work top notch (downloads, streaming, etc).

I’m from Brazil, if it counts for anything.

The error I get is something about not being able to connect to the login server. Can’t remember the numer that appears.

BTW, how is D/D doing nowadays, against other thief builds and other classes? I’ve seen this vid and got REALLY impressed.

This is ludicrous already.

Playing from Brazil, absurd lag and drop after a few minutes. Tried playing in several different places, with different connections and providers.

The game’s the problem, fix it.

Same issue here. Playing from Brazil, Blackgate server. Connects, freezes, drops constantly. If it doesn’t drop, dreadful lag.

Internet is absolutely fine for everything else, including other games.

How S/D doing these days? I’ve tried it last night and felt pretty solid, nice pressure with auto attack and plenty of survivability. And it feels somewhat simpler and more straight foward.

Sometimes I think I’m just not skilled enough, since I just couldn’t adapt well to D/P. That thing of heartseeking out of the BP circle to get stealth and stuff just felt weird.

I’m probably playing it wrong anyways Any good gameplay videos for reference would be awesome!

Hey guys. I’m no new player, but I’ve been away from the game for a long time, and haven’t really done nothing with my character.

I’ve been looking up build to start with WvW and sPVP, and decided to go for a backstab build.

I have no clue, though, where to fing the cool and top gear on the game. Can you guys point me on some direction and any guide for that?

Hey guys, how are y’all?

I’m not exacly new to the game, I’ve been playing for about 2~3 months and lurked the forums a lot.

Although I love the game, there is something that bothers me: the lack of some concepts explanation.

For instance, today I came here and saw a lot of “whining about whining” threads, and as I can’t really follow up with the changes, I’ve no idea of what’s going on.

Took me a while to discover what are exotics and where can I get them, and there is a whole bunch of gear stuff I just don’t understand, and can’t find a place where they are explained.

I see terms like fractals, FotM and stuff and am completely lost.

Can anyone give my a run on gears, dungeons, “fractals” and stuff? Or point me a place to search on that?

I updated my notebook yesterday to Windows 8 PRO, but since then Guild Wars has been running really slow.

I never ran it on full graphics, but now graphics are really choppy. Here go my specs:

Intel® Core i5 (450M) – 2.40Ghz
8 GB RAM DDR3
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 – 1GB GDDR3

Any tips on solving that?

Heh, this must’ve sound really stupid at first

Anywho, my question is this: I am left-handed, playing on a laptop. For walking I use mouse button 1+2 (like in WOW), and ocasionally use my right hand on WASD. Mostly, my right hand is used to press the skill buttons.

But something feels amiss. Because when playing with my SB I simply have to stop and aim for skills like CB. Also, with skill shadow refuge. And it just feels kinda weird, cause I have to stop there, stupid-face, to aim for my skills, while someone is cutting leather straps out of my back!

So…how do you play? WASD and mouse just for aiming? What about when you need to reach to 0 to use your elite skill?

I do have to pick up on strategies and the lingo, I’ll search for some guide on the internet. I don’t wanna be screwing people’s life by doing something wrong with a siege weapon.

I just hit lv. 30, but I read the forums a lot and am very excited to start PVPing, specially WvW.

I noticed when you enter WvW you are brought to lv. 80 automatically, but your gear remaisn the same.

So my question is: when to start with WvW so that you’re not a burden more then you’re of help?
