same here, huge lag spikes. i was in a DS before and could use chat and TP but couldnt use any skills or use any updrafts. have been getting it in wvw also. I also have a thing when i use LFG during the lag spikes i cant join any maps it just says network connection error. but yeah pretty unplayable for the last week or so.
EDIT: a bit more info I am OCX also from NZ and a few guildies from AUS have the same issue, same deal as what OP was saying. I will try the stuff gator was saying but im curious how come it just started happening now for a lot of people if it was nodes etc? if it was all fine before and I haven’t changed anything I don’t know how the routing and nodes work but if that was a problem wouldn’t it have happened always?
EDIT again: after looking into it and learning abit more disregard the last edit question, there appears to be a lot of documented problems with the telia nodes lately so I will run the ping test tonight to confirm im getting stuck at that node then let my ISP know. hopefully they fix it soon so we can play again.

There is some interesting points for both sides in this thread but I reckon the raids are the best content that has come out in a long long time and im happy with them as they are when there so much else they could be working on.
changing the raids now would feel like tweaking the reception on your TV when your whole house is on fire.
I did a wing 1 and 2 clear in an LFG group on reset night.
The leader demanded seeing eternal title, a mini from each fight and a spirit tonic buff from each player.
It honestly took longer to set the group up than it took to kill gors.
The group was so bad also, not because people were bad but everyone just felt put off right from the start as if everyone had to prove themselves. Our VG wasn’t that great and everyone just went straight to kittened off instead of just being chilled and focusing up, it just felt like a group you didn’t wana be in.
We ended up one shoting gors, sab and sloth so everyone was definitely able it was just a bad feeling in the group.
I always LFG the raids and sure the chilled out groups might take 2 or 3 attempts to kill but it just feels so much better. Also having all that stuff doesn’t actually mean you are good on a certain class or are comfortable with a certain duty in the raid.

I am making the new legendary axe, its going ok but the one thing I totally forgot about was the amalgamated gemstones… so many mats needed.
If anyone has some spare t6 orbs or crests for the crafting I would really appreciate it.

o and I forgot ele, you have the potential to do the highest dps in game and you also have so much utility. changing weapons and traits massively changes how you can play and what your role is, can be a little hard to play if your new and often feels squishy if still learning but once you learn it you will find you have so much utility that makes it easier to survive.
I guess you can make anything work (Im not really answering your question anymore haha) so maybe look into actual class lore / skills to see what you find the most interesting. I think a lot of people would suggest necro because a lot of people liked the idea of necro but use to find it a bit lacking but now with HoT reaper is really good so now people are like o hell yeah necro is nice.
PS2, imo the raids are the best content anet has done in ages so I would highly suggest checking them out
reaper is good I play a lot of power necro in wvw and zerk is good for PVE. The meta for raids and high level fracs is condi atm (super strong) so if you decide to get into that you just need to get another set of gear then you can do anything.
Wari and herald are also good options. easy to play, good in wvw and good in pve with cookie cutter zerk builds. only thing is a lot of people play these in pve and you often don’t need 2 revs or PS’s in a party. these guys are good but can be a bit boring.
another fun/different option could be a druid. good in wvw (bunker support), you can go hybrid builds for pve so you still dmg and can support aswell then you have the option to go full heal if you wana raid or high frac. I find healing really fun.
PS, the condi engi isn’t that bad the rotation isn’t always essential to be 100% completed once you become familiar with it you will find you change it up a lot for different stuff but it becomes 2nd nature changing through kits etc.

OK yes I see your point, and your right in between the fights we would have fun defending / attacking.
TBH honest though if I was going to be really negative I would still say none of the proposed changes (both options) will fix things for either of us, they offered the illusion of choice between gimmicky changes and nonsense so the majority of people will feel listened to but nothing will change it wont come back to life.

Firstly I want to thank devs for trying to fix it and showing interest.
I played in a T1 NA server in a guild that raided in wvw every night (NZ/Aus time) with at least 20 people right up until a bit before HoT. Our guild was very close and still play other games together and I think we were definitely a force to be reckoned with in our time zone, however the GW2 part of the guild has now disbanded and most have left.
From my experience (and what others like me say) I can say that I think these changes and the other options proposed have totally missed the point. We and all the other guilds like us played WvW because we liked the fighting, our ts was amazing when we all got going and stuck into some good brawls, the score never really mattered to us it was all about the fighting, coming together and having a good time. I also think its clear to see that a majority of the core has stopped playing and that is why wvw got to where it is now, if it is possible to fix it will be by getting the core going again.
It all started to fall apart when the stability changes happened but we worked around it and still had great fights. Then slowly all the cheese started coming, all these changes that nobody seem to be asking for that ruined the fighting. The pirate ship meta happened which none of us were interested in playing, all the added cheese like the chill helicopter things and the stealth pond, people just started sitting in keeps cause they were so easy to defend from and the open field fighting (what the core played wvw for) died.
In my opinion for wvw to come back the devs need to focus on bringing back what they got right to start off with, sure there was problems back then but they were nothing compared to wvw today. Get rid of all the rubbish that was added (ideally have some separation from PvE and WvW because the game was balanced around PvE at the time which didn’t work for WvW and made the pirate ship meta). But I think for all the people I know that it may be to late and they have already moved on, what a shame the glory days of WvW were definitely my favourite times in the game.

I still need to do 94 for elite fractal master. does anyone know if I need to do this before the patch, I saw it said to do the other 2 cause they were getting removed but not sure about this one.
literally no one wants to do 94 atm so I hope not.
i ran out of HoT mastery points so i had to do some activity things to get more.
i already have no interest in doing these stupid mini games but since anet is forcing us to for mastery points i guess we have to.
about 50% of the activities don’t work for me because i play in nz so my average ping is about 200. for example i was doing the fungus rush one and i cant use the first skill because it lags out and i end up on the bottom of the map if im trying to cross a gap and the 2nd skill just straight doesn’t work, like the leap part just wont work. so i cant use the leap skills making it impossible to even get bronze on this one.
so if we have high ping are we meant to just not finish our HoT masterys, i though anet would have figured out they cant make this stuff work after the zepherite rubbish with the crystal.
and also even if you can some how make the stupid thing work it still feels like some are impossible to get gold on, do you even test these things anet.
Please remove the mastery point achmnts from activities alot of people literally cant do them.
just recording mine on here too after putting tickets in.
-map comp no rewards (on toons with 100% tyria)
-2 lots of guild missions no rewards (really annoying cause I need the trinkets for fracs)
-kill champs in mouth of mordremoth fight no credit for achmnt
-bombing in mouth fight no credit for achmnt
-fractal weapon collection missing skins
-also my previous post about bugs in final story fight but im not likely to be doing that cluster f again.
-o and still missing 2 rewards from killing triple trouble but that ones been around for ages
on the bright side tho 64 bit client seems like a big improvement for HoT maps
yeah it is mentioned 5 times in the merged thread after a quick ctrl f search.
this is known bug, I have the same thing. all the skins unlocked in my wardrobe but only 13 in the collection. I think I remember reading somewhere that they are working on it.
the last fight took me 2 and half hours to finish due to a lot of bugs.
the bugs i had were:

- the air launchers were bugged, i would interact and nothing would happen then i would just randomly die from fall dmg.
- the blighted npcs wouldn’t go into the rifts (i did have a screen for this but cant find it will update if i do)
- the best one was the blighted npcs reset on the final stage and canach started doing stage one again at the same time so i had blighted rytlock chasing me around.

each time these things happened i would have to restart right from the start which pretty much ruined the whole story for me.
Yeah ive seen people just go afk cause someone picks courtyard and we get it.
I think the main problem is that everyone is just so frustrated with pvp now (unbalanced builds, unfair match ups, constant patches with Buffs/nerfs that no one wants) that the whole scene has just turned it a mess.
A lot of people comment something like “I was never like that but now if I see X in a fight im not guna bother”.
So I think basically for any of this stuff to improve I think we need to address all the major under lying issues first so that people start caring about the pvp game type first, because at the moment nobody really cares anymore and matches aren’t taken seriously.
Have had a bit of a break from the game over the last month or so (just doing daily’s etc) and came back last night to play a bit, this was my experience last night
Played pvp. Played 7 unranked games and 5 of them were 4v5s because people keep getting disconnected or couldn’t join the game for some reason (joined half way through). had 1 good game and 1 bad game where a guy just akitten in base the whole match. rage quit pvp.
Went to wvw. trying to find an active map, got dced every 10mins and had big skill lag spikes. lots of weird bugs in wvw that other people have talked about from the patch. left wvw
Went to do some dungeons. Did SE p1 & 3, path 1 the npc bugged out at the start the first 2 times. did p3 worked fine then went back to p1 and it worked this time.
Went to eotm to do dailys (and just bored). keep getting this weird roll back thing where everyone would get kicked out of the map and all the stuff that got capped in the last 5mins would be neutral when we came back in. got sick of having to run back.
Played D3.
A lot of people in map chat were saying that the new patch was really buggy which might be most of the problem but if the game totally breaks every time there is a patch then why would we want to buy HoT, what’s guna happen when that comes out is the game even going to work? Seems like anet is going overtime into making new content (and changes for no reason that make the game worse) but the fact that all the existing stuff doesn’t really work or needs major work is the reason most wont play the game not because there is no new content.
Ok yeah I though that it was like that but haven’t played pvp in a little while since it changed.
That’s interesting I have been doing unranked solo prob about 75% of the time and find that about half my games have 2+ premade. I guess it could also be that people on my team are 2s or 3s (not reping same guild or in Tchat) and im just hoping into these random games all the time.
yeah I totally agree when you have a full pick up team facing a full premade its worthless.
Started playing pvp again in queue matches and noticed that most of the teams im facing are pre-mades, this is fine but im not always able to pvp with my friends so usually I just solo queue.
It feels like sometimes if you want to solo play your only option is hot join and we all know how good that is or play on a pick up team against mostly pre-mades and be at a disadvantage.
My question is can we get a queue for ranked and unranked where people in party’s cant join so its a true solo queue, what do other people think about this?
I feel like this would be a good way to get true random match ups and people in party’s can face other people in party’s in normal queue.
Yeah that’s not a bad idea zaxares I actually did that with some karma for the ebon weapons but I’ve already got all my skins sorted so still kinda feel it’s a bit useless as I’m never guna use them
The first time I was going for dusk I got dawn after about 95g in the forge, though this is easy brought another 100g worth GS and got dawn again after about 60g, sold them both, brought dusk, very happy man (nobody believed me).
about 2 months later I proceeded to put over 800g worth of staffs in going for legend and never got it, quit the game for 2 weeks ended up buying it from tp for 600g.

I had a thought the other day when talking to guildies about how many thousands of wvw badges/frac relics we had and millions of karma with not really anything ‘useful’ to use them on.
I was wondering if they made a second currency you could buy gem store items with (not 1 off stuff like armour or weapon skins but items like wvw exp boosters, finishers or transmutation charges, also not stuff that you can profit from like keys or dies). this currency would be purchased with the items that generally aren’t needed in end game.
But as anet makes money from the gem store I can see them not being keen for this but just a thought I had.
I have been having a problem with heals lately and have submitted reports but as usual have heard nothing back so thought I would see if anyone else has had similar problems.
It only happens on my guard and wari, I use signet of resolve and healing surge and have notice this happen a couple of times (nearly always in fracs)
what happens is I cast the spell, the animation goes of, the cooldown starts but I don’t get any heal. At first I thought I was getting interrupted or dodged breaking the cast so I tried it off to the side and it still happened a couple of times. It feels kinda buggy like sometimes it never happens then it will happen 4 times in a row.
Im not sure what would cause this, has anyone else had a similar story

I tired with a few different foods and they all just ran their normal time then expired with 10hrs still left on my primer. Also does anyone know if foods will expire when you log out, I assumed they wouldn’t but most times I have logged out with buffs/consumables still with long life left when I come back to the character they are gone.
Does sure footed increase defiant stance?
I assumed it would but the builder I was using didn’t increase the duration when I put sure footed on.
Can we have sigils/runes removable from ascended gear now that we cant transmute. I have some ascended gear that I want to replace but now have to buy all new very expensive at the moment sigils/rune for it because I cant transmute them onto the new gear. this is also a problem with the wvw purchased gear because that cant be salvaged either. it seems a bit unreasonable to expect to buy the item removers for this as they cost so much. Or if they could be salvageable for the upgrades that would also be great.
Just a thought (that would save me about 90g)
Can we please take map comp out of WvW, I have been sitting on everything for jug and predator for about 2 months now just because I need EB green keep + the green EB spawn towers. My server never gets green and we most likely never will in our repetitive match ups. I am actually going to have to transfer just to get 3 stupid POI’s and a vista so I can finish my weapons.

Oh man the invisible bag thing when changing from 2 to1 weapon makes me so paranoid, i accidently sold an abyssal scepter to a merchant in wvw because i was in a rush to dump my bags and it got put in with my blues and greens.
As for the build bank, this topic comes up quiet a bit with my guildies (have been thinking about posting something). I dont think any of these suggestions are balance breaking (I play all classes and dont favour any) but I feel at this stage of the game I need change to keep me interested. I like making new builds and using different skills/weapons it brings new life into my toons.
It would be cool if ele’s could have a second weapon slot like other traits but that could only work when out of combat. I think its kinda annoying how we dont have 2 weapons like others but what ever i just would like to not have to go into inventory every time to change.
When i run dungeons I like to change between D/D and staff often and it would be awesome if we could have that slot that becomes active when OOC instead of having to go through the inventory.
O yeah just to clarify by leaving I mean leaving the party not the instance. And yeah Zerotwo I agree the actual tool works as it should its just the monitoring of it, I have no suggestions just expressing my frustrations.
There needs to be some control for lfg tool. I know you can report for abuse but no one seems to take it seriously, people just leave when ever they want. It’s not so bad for normal dungeons but twice today I had hosts leave for no reason half way through fracs kicking the whole party out after an hours work. This is also a problem hosts just afk or leave so people kick them then we all get booted out.
I like using the tool and when you get a good group it is a really nice feature but at the moment I can’t really see the tool being of any use for fracs because more often then not you don’t finish. I have played fracs a lot so don’t really mind helping people who are inexperienced but that doesn’t seem to be the problem, it’s just that people are like whatever you guys don’t no me I’m just guna leave.
Most of the people I know won’t really use lfg anymore and it’s getting harder and harder to find party’s on it now (less listings). I want the tool to be useful but I think it might just die off because it will get a bad reputation and people will avoid it.
