Can’t help you with fractals, but as for wvw rank 8 is fairly easy. Most of the time you can just follow a tag mindlessly and get a few ranks. If you want to spend as little time as possible, flip camps whenever you pass them and follow a tag whenever you see an active one. All in all I know I can get 8 ranks in just a few hours during primetime.

Well with the latest LW episode I noticed a skill labeled as a “Hex”. Maybe they will be introduced in an elite spec with the next expansion?

With the recent patch I’m currently using a hybrid condi/power build. I was like you and couldn’t decide on one. I use full berserker armor with berserker runes and trinkets are a mix of sinister, soldier and berserker. Weapons are also sinister or viper and I use the tuning crystals and rare veggie pizza for extra condi damage. As for the legends I use mallyx always and bounce between jalis or shiro. Glint is also good but I’m personally bored of glint since I’ve almost used glint since launch of HoT.

Definitely agree. The new map is absolutely beautiful although a little tough to navigate. I really love how they are cutting back on waypoints so you can actually explore the map. As for the new shoulder piece it is by far my favorite one yet. I have noticed they are only doing gloves and shoulders for armor, I hope it doesn’t stay like that. Not saying I want a full set of armor but a new chest piece or legs would be nice too. Overall, 8/10 considering I feel like this was a very short episode.

Hello, I’m a somewhat returning player and was wondering if there are guild that teach players “how to raid”. I’ve been mostly logging in for dailies for a few months now and would like to get into more of the endgame content. So I am hoping to get a guild invite to a raiding gud willing to teach “noobs” the raid wings. If not does anyone know how one could start learning the mechanics without being a burden? Thanks in advance.

Trapper runes give invisibility for a second or 2 for placing a trap I believe

Revenant is a well rounded class. Someone on the forum’s said it’s the a jack of all trades but the master of none. It’s not the greatest at things but you can run DPS, support, healing and condi builds pretty well. I’m not sure it’s viable in raids as I haven’t done much raiding but they are a very nice asset in wvw and pve. Pvp will be rough but once you know the class it’s fairly good. Other than that I’d say warrior since they are almost always in demand and are very good in most aspects of the game

Traps are a PBAoE skill (point blank are of effect). If people are grouped that tightly a necromancer could drop Wells there and melt them too but I don’t see anyone saying Wells need to be nerfed. Don’t get me wrong I think all traps minus the heal take no skill to use but traps can easily be avoided. Just because you’re caught off guard or blew through all your cooldowns doesn’t mean thing should get nerfed.

Presuming this is wvw only I like this idea. However I can’t shake the feeling that this would cause major exploits. But I wouldn’t mind trying it out for a week

I get the whole “raids are the hardmode” thing but I personally don’t like them. I really do like the personal debuffing NPC idea and it would be fairly easy to implement (I may be wrong I’m not a programmer). I saw another thread suggesting a rework to the SoD map event and was hoping for more buff to world bossed like the shattered. My whole goal here was to make the vanilla maps less… stale I guess. I really hate the “wear white gear for hardmode” requests as I have spent a lot of time and gold getting multiple sets of ascended armor and weapons. The fact that I should just throw them aside to have a challenge is, for a lack of a better word, dumb.

Can we get a hardmode for pve maps?

As the title states. I would like a hardmode toggle like in GW1. Maps would be split creating overflows when necessary. Hardmode should also have increased rewards for completing meta events and maybe even map completion.

Well good sir, I just read my post and I’m not seeing that I said it was never going to happen (why I’m still asking). I did say it’s a lot of work with next to nothing to gain but it’s still a feature I would like to see. Thank you for your input though

Yes I know it’s a lot of work and resources with little to no gain on Arena Nets part but this is one feature of many I really miss of the original Guild Wars. Maybe only future black lion weapons skins can be dyeable if that’s easier. Let the millions of reason why it can’t happen begin lol

So do you think the transfer is OP? I know very little about Rev cleanse in general so I imagine moderate condi is a problem for Rev based on prior experience fighting Rev only (p/d condi boonstrip build).

I think perma evade is a problem that applies to power builds (like staff) as well as condi (d/d). I wouldn’t say condi is itself the isssue. Obviously they reduced some endurance regen from thief so anet seems to be moving towards limiting perma dodge anyways. But again that doesn’t make condi a problem just the evades.

I think the problem is condition stacking. They should be capped much lower than what it is for PvE/wvw. Like burning capped at 3, bleeding at 5 etc. The amount of damage conditions do is insane compared to the damage over time they are intended to do. I don’t think the devs wanted conditions to hit as hard as power in such a small span of time

What are you running duke? And is it just condi necro or are other classes at issue?

I’m running on rev right now (I know not the best class) but resistance just gets corrupted on mallyx so I switched to ventari and having some success with it. As for getting condi necromancer bombed I think a condi war on my team was attacking then the necromancer used the signet and or mark to transfer to me. The infinite dodge daredevil with conditions is just plain cheese

Honestly I don’t mind condi builds, but when almost every player is running it it kills pvp for me. Personally I prefer power over condi for big bursts but when a necromancer bombs you up with conditions you have 2 seconds to clear everything just for all of it to be reapplied instantly. Sad how condi bunker is the new meta because most of it is from passives. Don’t want this to sound like I’m just complaining but condition damage exceeds power damage at the moment. Conditions should not be able to do the same if not more damage in the same time as power damage

Yea I’m running a celestial rev with ventari/glint and it’s an amazing support class right now. So glad there is some more build diversity with this class. Glad arena net is making good changes to rev although it’s not exactly where I would like to see it yet. Hope for this class is restored for me lol

Rewards are a great idea for getting new players into wvw, however I think skill balance and population need to be fixed before anything like that is possible. It would just encourage server stacking and k-trains. And I absolutely agree with transparency and communication from the devs. At least let us know what they are working on even if they have to scrap the idea later on.

I honestly love this idea, however I don’t think it’s ever going to happen. The amount of work it would take to redesign even 1/4 of the maps to fit a wvw layout is impractical. The only way I could see it happening is through an expansion where it focused on gaining or losing territories, kind of what they did in gw1 factions with the luxons and kurzicks. Great idea but sadly I don’t think it would ever happen

Honestly this is the best pvp season I’ve played. After a few matches I placed in silver 2 (where I feel I belong), and have been there all season. Only recently I’ve been slowly climbing up through silver 3. Overall I’m happy where I’m at because anything over silver sounds like a bunch of people who feel they are the sole cause of wining matches

I recently started playing my Necro again in WvW. I prefer to play frontline so GS and staff is what I run. Yea it’s slow but you can cast on the move with GS. GS 5 and gravedigger are amazing in fights and also the nightfall skill is great support. I know I don’t bring as much damage as a berserker necro but I prefer CCs in large scale fights

It does that when your game client isn’t up to date. Try restarting the entire client and it should automatically download the update

Persnally I prefer the pvp option, however I think when a server gets the outmanned buff the NPCs should kind of take over until the outmanned buff goes away. The pvp option wouldn’t be great because of the 24/7 match and population wouldn’t be enough. Basically like when a server gets the buff, Siegerazor or whatever takes to the field with like 10-15 other NPCs and starts taking objectives. Of course the NPCs would need rework to be able to put up a decent fight

Kind of got me thinking about treating commanders as Champions. Give them a break bar and extra health/armor (scales to number of enemies within 2000 range or something)

Would it be a good idea to match servers by coverage instead of population? Example, if 3 servers are highly populated at 3pm est then they should be paired up. I know this sounds like a weird and probably far fetched thing but that might solve the 24/7 battle that is WvW. Then there wouldn’t be much “night capping”. Again just a random thought that passed my mind while drinking.

Since you’re new to WvW you might not know about how supply works. If you have no supply, you can’t build or repair anything. There are supply depots in every objective (camps, towers, keeps etc.).

Simple enough I think, just bring back tournament rewards each week but for each tier. No more server linking, just 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each tier. Bring back the WvW tokens for Hero weapons and finally put the Hero’s Triumphant Armor in game. This will give players incentive to not only play, but win and get rewards specifically for WvW. I know this doesn’t fix balance issues or any other concerns the community has, but I honestly think this will bring population, rewards, server identity and a fresh competitive attitude every week.

Rewards would follow as the past 3 WvW seasons:
-1st place, 100 tickets
-2nd place, 50 tickets
-3rd place, 25 tickets

The Rewards Vendor should also be up to par with PvE raid vendors selling ascended trinkets, weapon boxes and armor.

Also note the ticket values are just an example and can be changed accordingly.
