What we need, outside of PvE where we are gods, is to be able to get to and stay in melee combat. We need longer immobilizes and more of them.

Really doubt we need more imobilize.
you can alway put 10 points in tactic for this trait:

Adept: Leg Specialist
Apply a 1-second immobilize whenever you cripple a target with a skill.

Its generally more than enough.

People still underestimating the mace damage I see. With these buffs it is fairly easy to deal 5k+ damage with mace ‘2’, yes the block.

How is vulnerability a rare condition? Warriors can apply 3 fairly easy.

You are barely touching the real problems in this thread, just a damage increase over the entire line? Like a warrior needs more damage… He needs more ways to make that damage effective.

First. Mace #2 dealing up to 5k damage on a 10sec cooldown is nothing. 3 hit of hundred blade can do that and is on a 8sec cooldown.

Second. who talked about vulnerability? its weakness.

Third. Theres plenty options to make damage more effective using some weapon skills or utility. What warrior lack now is subtained damage. Devs dont want burst damage.

Warrior is supposed to be the weapon master but most of them are not viable. Here is my fix. Its easy to do, allow way more build diversity without being overpowered and make the warrior really a weapon master. Why its easy to do?? because developer only need to change some variable in the code.

Traits
Strength
Master: Distracting Strikes
Grants 3 stacks of confusion for 5 seconds when you interrupt a foe.
Should apply 5 stacks instead.

Adept: Great Fortitude
5% of power is given as a bonus to vitality.
Should be 10% to add more surviability.

Defense
Adept: Cull the Weak
Increases damage to weakened foes by 5%.
Should be 10%. Weakness is a rare condition.

Master: Sundering Mace
Mace damage is increased by 10% when a foe is weakened. Reduces cooldown of mace skills by 20%.
Should be 15% since most of mace skills is defensive and not very powerfull.

Master: Merciless Hammer
Hammer damage is increased by 25% when a foe is disabled. Reduces cooldown of hammer skills by 20%.
Should be 30%. Hammer attack so slow and foes are disabled only for 1-4sec max.

Tactics
Adept: Desperate Power
You do 20% extra damage under 25% health.
Should be at least 30%. At 25% health you have only 5sec of survival if you use defy pain. When endure pain end.. you will get downed in 2sec.

Adept: Empowered
Increases damage for every boon on you. (Increases damage by 2% for each unique boon.)
This give you 6% damage increase with signet of rage (24% for 5sec with rune of lyssa). Since warrior doesnt have access to alot of boons, it should be 3%. Would give 9% damage increase and 24% increase for 5sec if using run of lyssa.

Master: Burning Arrows
Longbow damage is increased by 10% against burning foes.
Should be at least 15%.

Discipline
Master: Mobile strikes
Movement skills break immobilize.
It should also Remove criple and frozen on a 10sec cooldown.

Now the utility.

“Fear Me!”
Shout: Induce fear in your foes. Cooldown: 80sec.
Should be on a 70sec cooldown.

Endure Pain
Stance: Take no damage from attacks. Cooldown: 90sec.
Should be 80sec cooldown.

Frenzy
Stance: Frenzy to gain 5sec quickness. Take 50% more damage for the duration. Cooldown: 60sec.
Of course… Everybody will agree on “take 25% more damage”

A: Hell no. even with all these buff you wont be able to 1v1 an ele =)

Q: Why you dont touch greatsword or axe?
A: Because they already can do alot of damage.

Q: You really think devs will make these change?!
A: No. I dont even think devs will take time to read this.

Each month, the devs TAKE away something without adding anything new OR filling the hole…

^exactly that. Seem like there is a whole team that work to nerf everything and nobody to improve.
But there is a big team that work on quaquaan /charr back pack and cavalier outfit?!

Somehow the game was way more fun before that patch.. now its all about condition for damage and bunker. Warrior is dead. ELE still at the top since beta. Only 3 class left with “burst” damage. ELE, Mesmer and thief. Mesmer have almost no condition removal so their surviability got hurt. Thief rely on stealth to get condition removal wich is not so good right now. So yeah, All about bunker and conditions. Will peoples wait a whole month to see some change?? i doubt it.

I dont think all classes should be able to play all roles.

All classes shouldnt be able to play all roles.. but they should have at least more than 1 build diversity and be able to play more than 1 role.

i was a rank 26 warrior.. now im just playing pve. Been playing since beta and since Beta the ele d/d was top #1. Now with the quickness burst.. how you can kill one?! PvP is all about bunker class now. Warrior have nothing left.
ESport? i lol’d. how can this game be an ESport.. we get a “balance” update each MONTH wich never balance thing but instead Destroy build that people spend time to make. PvP is lacking diversity and challenge. All they had to do since beta is to OP some build instead of starting to nerf everything. Lets see what will happen next month. We really need class balance change weekly.

STOP THE NERF, START TO OP.

LOL! Just missed tequalt because of overflow server! Looks like we wont hunt dragon tonight! Hope its just a bug and will get fixed SOON.

Edit: I also noticed a huge lag in chest (dragon) event 1 days ago due to the massive numbers of players but it was still playable. Now we get moved to overflow instead and miss our home world dragon/chest.

Exactly the same thing happen to me. im also from isles of janthir. i just did shatterer and everyone got kicked off the server. I have no idea if its because of the massive people guesting our server but its very frustating… ANet should just remove guesting from the game and build a multi-server party system for dungeon and merge pvp server since most of them are empty.

i 100% agree, even too i made the post “Engineer dead again.” all class is still very good and fun to play in PvE. Engineer is in my opinion a more challenging class that make you feel like a boss when you start to master it.

Haha. Seem like i put some fuel on the fire with this thread. We all should just look in PvP right now. dont you remember in few days before the patch there was a bunch of engineer playing , trying all kind of build and most of the time you would lose the match because you was in the team that had the most engineer??? Well… that was before the patch because right now there is almost no engineer still playing PvP.

Kit refinement trait just kinda ruined the actual high lvl PvP build “100Nades” and if its not enough.. it hurt all others build that are not elixir based. Hey ANet … why dont you put a 10 sec cooldown on the ele “Elemental attunement” trait?! Engineer was the most unplayed class and you just simply destroyed it. 100nades build didnt need a nerf since you need alot of precision in your movement to land all your nades else you will miss your burst and do almost no dmg. Alot have tried 100nades build. ALOT have failed to master it. Now we are left with nothing. We are back to the bottom of the list, with no build viable left.
Sincerely, An engineer nerfed to the bone.

This is simply a must to have. We have a guild of 500 peoples since launch and we simply cant manage it. We just roll a dice and kick!

Hotjoin? Why would you remove the 8v8 ! thats even more fun since there alot more action.
Tournament. They should really add a “Random Team Tournament” (random arena). Wich was REALLY popular in gw1.
Balance. Match are not really balanced. it happen some time that you play 8v6 or all higher rank are in the same team. i also got destroyed in 8v8 when they had 6 thief 2 mesmer. That was a raging match.

What this game really need is more PvP options than just free/paid Tournament and hotjoin. Random arena like gw1 would be sexy.

i been reading on engineer forum and looking video and i will try engy for a whole week. I have been before and i loved it till i get destroyed in 4 match in a row.
What kind of build did you go with? im using the 30/0/0/10/30 Nades.

I LOVE the engineer class. Having said that, I played a bit of elementalist recently and was amazed. Ele is a very polished class. Playing an Ele is like driving a slick silver porshe. All controls are smooth, modern, and efficient. It’s clear a great deal of thought and testing went into the Elementalist. You understand the philosophy behind ele instantly.

Playing an Engineer (to stick with the car metaphor) is like driving a beat up, oil spluttering, rust-bucket jalopy that coughs gears and hisses steam. It’s like driving a car you used to get laid in from the 80’s that guzzles gas and looks like dirt but is still somehow awesome because it has heart and a big thunderbird stencil across the hood. Playing an Eng you have no idea what the dev design philosophy was. Or rather, you think you know…. then you realize that approch doesn’t work, so you try something else and you’re like… aHAH!!! I get it now! Then you realize you were wrong again. Engineer’s are a messy, grimy, dirty, wacky class. But that’s the fun of them. Reaching into our bag of tricks and pulling out odd stuff. Foes have no idea what to expect because there’s so kitten few of us. It’s a kitten fun class too. Best aesthetic in the game imo. But if you roll an eng, be prepared to get frustrated at times and toss your wrench across the room (hitting mobs in the process).

And if you know what you’re doing, you can put the fear of god into folks in PVP and WvW. I always back off when I see a fellow eng. The good ones are super hard to predict. In closing, I’d say it’s a super fun, rewarding class. But you really gotta like driving a rust bucket.

I was playing warrior till the begining of the game and got somehow bored in PvP…
i tried alot of build and found out that once you land your burst and the enemies is still alive… you have not alot of possibility.. you get killed or you try to run and wait your cooldown.
Warrior doesnt seem to be a big tourny class also… So im figuring.. what class should i switch to.. mesmer ? necro? thief? ele? ranger?? engy ?!(hard to play) watchall think?

Somehow, most of the time, Alot of usefull necro skills miss… I had no Blind and the enemies had no stability and i was looking at them under 600 range. There was also no block or evade.
Skills that miss often:
Deathshroud Fear and Dark path. (dark path never really worked anyway..)
Corrupt Boon
Plague Signet (everytime it miss.. youre dead)

This is pretty annoying and kinda nerf the necro by itself…
The 1sec skills block after you quit death shroud..
The VERY LONG cooldown on Break Stun skills.
The Weak bleed stack… Ranger or thief can do way better.

I think necro need an update.
