Well, I’m missing old days where everything was exotic and flexibility on trying different stuffs was easy and didn’t require account bound recipes or sets. However, since Hot introduced the fun of playing wvw combat diminished for me.
As a dedicated wvw player since the release, I often myself having problem changing stats due to optimal gearing change after balance patches meanwhile PvP doesn’t have that problem and PvE (raiding content) can achieve minimal cost (People used to run berserker set till last balance patch). Sometimes, I give up a certain class because grinding to a new set costs a lot and I’m not even sure that if its gonna be nerfed or not in near future.
What I’m proposing making Mistforged Triumphant Hero’s armor set to be legendary set without any cosmetic change since most of wvw’er doesn’t really into cosmetic stuff because many of them plays character quality in lowest due to less fps drops in large battles. Justifying grindness of pve version, I think requiring between 3k and 4k rank + all current wvw achiements should be fair.
Gift of Battle is easy to get and you don’t even need a zerg to do that. Defend/Kill Dolyaks, Capture/Defend Camps and Capture Sentries. You can easly maintain 195 participation (even you can get more by exp booster) by semi afk. The most funny thing is you don’t need to kill actual player to get that.
What bothers me the most is as a mainly WvW player, I’m forced to do 3rd time World Exploration for my 5th legendary and I think Gift of Battle is still easy to get. Needs to be harder.

from screenshot you posted, mesmer has Signet of Inspiration, Blink (possibly); Decoy/Mirror Image (Not sure) and as elite Moa. Also if you check his buffs, you see illusionary defender that means he using inspiration line, which is defensive traitline. He runs chrono/inspiation/Illusions .
Answer of how you get that amount of confusion and torment is you ate all of shatters, if that mesmer was power you prolly got 1shotted. Your build is medicore and don’t expect you can kill something with that build. Once again Learn 2 Play issue.
White mantle attack is way too weak compared to Lion’s arch.
As a pact commander, player character should involve who is gonna be next Pact marshall instead of Queen or Leader of Vigil.
Wouldn’t be better if whole WvW divided into 3 factions instead of servers which named of corresponding pve order (order of whispers, vigil, durmand priory) and allow everyone that 1 time only free order change. Ladder ranking system(guild or personal) based on contribution to your order.
mesmer scepter AA is single target skill so expect better dps compared to aoe sword aa. GS needs rework instead of simple dmg buff especially against classes which have in combat high mobility
Quaggan’s voice acting feels like sloppy and alienated. I mute the game whenever I’m on the new zone.

Is it working as intended? I am pretty sure that stealth increase only effects mesmer instead the others. I think it was mentioned in one of ready-ups.

try some phantasm build with knight amulet. Once you get used to mesmer mechanics, you will experiment more risky builds for better rewards.
Today, I met a hacker in EOTM Server time 6:38 am (Europe) which was killing the zerg’s tail 1by1. What makes him/her annoying is you can’t trace him by visually or in game combat log. Even tho, I got his attention and he started to spamming stuffs on me. If my AOE hits him, I get in combat. However, I don’t do any damage to him (checked combat log too). Luckily someone dropped shadow refuge on me and tried the same stuff while I was in stealth and I dropped my AOEs when I was in stealth and out of combat then I got in combat but I didn’t get revealed. His damage won’t show up in combat log too. So, what is the vulnerability that makes this exploit? I am just curious Quaggan.

Stealth is now broken. you get revealed every 3 seconds during stealth no matter if you are in combat or not.

MtD shatter works. What makes people doesn’t want to play it, lack of mobility that Power-Shatter offers and quite squishy compared to other condition builds in the game.
Vitality has never affected illusions, only toughness.

Sorry but i have to agree with everyone else (not bashing your ideas) but you are acting like a spoiled child. You have been given a solution, which may not be perfect (due to sorta long que, not as long as people make it out to be) but it’s viable, if zerging is such an issue for you then you’d take the solution instead of bashing Anet for it.
Last i checked this game was not made for YOU but for everyone, it gives various options and ways to play it. So learn it, or please do yourself a favor and leave. Not being mean but i’m saying it like it is.
The solution is not implementation of ranked/unranked with Auto-party system. The solution is removing spectating mode in hotjoins (who needs spectating in hotjoins?!). If you want to spectate, get in custom servers ( which were not exist 2 years ago and plenty servers out there)

well I really don’t like waiting over 10-20mins to get in one map and play around between 10-12 min and rinse repeat. In before, hotjoins had amazing match speed flow. you don’t have to wait and you just play the game even tho you don’t get any reward from it. Also, it didn’t have issues like 3vs5 4vs5. I am kinda sick seeing 3 people goes spectate and waiting to get open slots from leading team (autobalance).

Yeah get more rewards from unranked ranked… so there goes that argument. It’s only a problem if you refuse to use the solution that has been provided to you, if you don’t you may come off as a petulant child.

I am kinda sick and tired of zerging mentality in pvp since introduction of spectating mode. Even tho spectating was good however bringing spectating on hotjoin servers is just terrible. I feel like pvp of this game became worse after 2 years. I kinda miss old stuff where holding cap point depends on players not zerging with dps builds and one shotting focus targets.
I really don’t blame about players. This is the fault of ANET’s developer team. Current design forces people to zerg and pvp maps are way too small and easy to travel. Some builds does insane damage especially when they are not focused (zerging) and have absolutely no chance to counter sometimes. Don’t bring me dodge+invul etc. In this game, there is no profession to counter non stop crowd controls (both soft and hard) and immobolise stacking (where is diminishing return!?).

I hope one day devs decides to make inferior version of Deceptive Evasion as class mechanic which is 1 clone production (internal cooldown to trigger of current deceptive evasion) even you dodge twice within %0-100 endurance rate. However, if you get Deceptive Evasion, the cooldown will be removed and will do same effect that doing now.
Tbh, the second change is sorta interesting. I really want to see Phantasmal strength to get changed. I think one of good way to motivate Inspiration trait line is to change phantasmal strength ( %15 damage increase on phantasm) to whenever you dodge, you produce phantasm instead clone and remove %15 damage increase.
I don’t think these are huge buffs or nerfs, but I feel it will improve mesmer build diversity which we lost during first balance patch and make the profession more fun to play and level. What do you guys think about it?

eu gvg focus party meta changed. nowadays, hardcore, semi-hardcore guilds runs more focus party members than compared to a year ago.
My Idea about DE is removing DE as trait and give this as mesmer default ability without traiting. For Phantasm Specs where you don’t need DE, I think changing phantasmal strength trait ( in Inspiration line) would solve the issue where you don’t need clones. I think changing the trait ( phantasms damage increased by %15) to your damage and phantasms damage increased by %15 and you no longer summon clones on dodge should be a good way.

in 20v20 gvg (depends on the numbers) usually 1 thief and 1 mesmer both periphery harrassment
generally focus party setup is 2 thieves, 1 mesmer 1 d/d ele and random ( I saw ranger, engineer or another mesmer) depends on the guild mostly (4-5 players in total). also, having less number of players in your focus party compared to the opposing team may yield to your focus party get focus and get downed at start even before harassing their periphery,which may ruin everything at that round. imo, I suggest roam with your focus party after raids so you will get some synergy and whisper list in ts, really helps a lot (better communication without interrupting the driver)

pretty much this build that you need for gvging. GS / Sword Torch is sorta meta weapon set for this game type. Pack rune is good choice, you may use strength or traveler (if you want roaming with same gear) Positioning is important instead of getting passive defense and with decoy, torch 4 and MI will deliver that survivability especially when you got focused by opposing teams thief (If you go Staff/GS, you will die when you got focused by 2 thieves). Some drivers may ask you run TW instead MI but it will get you killed and in current gvg meta most of mesmers runs MI.
Your strength and the role is massive spike (thanks to shattering) and only full berserker or Berserker Armor, Weapon and Berserker with Valkyrie Jewel Trinkets will deliver that. If you go full tank spec, you will cut your dps role in spike team.

hmm I see. I feel sinister is more like hybrid stuff , in before people used to mix berserker/knight with rabid for roaming.
it seems wrong weapon set tested for sinister gear. I feel GS, Scepter or Sword/Pistol should be right weapon set for sinister gear where you depend on your phantasm crits for condition application and damage (phantasm damage only effected by your power and precision instead power, precision and ferocity). 0/4/5/5/0 build (http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhAQBYEcjxsT0wZjpmSGwvA-TVgPAAw+DAA-w) in my mind for it but I really don’t know even it would work or not.
appreciated your answer ross, but I am not a mesmer who plays this class since yesterday and posts stuffs in forums about skills that I don’t like and compare mesmer to other professions and ask for a balance. scepter always been good potential weapon for mesmers but couldn’t reach its top because of it has always something missing in that weapon set. I assume you stucked at the efficiency part because I said scepter 3rd skill is not efficient. well scepter 3rd is not efficient because confusion nerfed by %50 which was roughly 1 and half year ago in wvw, 2 years ago in pvp and casting 5 stacks of confusion with 5 seconds (0 condition duration) on enemy with 3 seconds channeling ( the actual damage starts between 1.75 and 2 seconds) time is way too much . for power, damage ticks are decent but it is too much to have 5 damage ticks when you have that precast animation. If developers can’t shave the time spend on doing casting animation, it is better to have that spell do some real damage in short interval. The time between cast and actual damage is too much and it has obvious telegraph. this will make this weapon preferable in dungeons or open pve content (open pve mostly gs but variety should be motivated instead being stuck on something)
The builds excelled scepter usage was Kylia’s build, seven shatterer and old school glamour build (excluding blackwater – which was mainly staff or other hybrid variants)and those builds are dead now because of constant trait changes. I appreciate your efforts about showing combos but doing them against bad players don’t shows that combos good and those combos can ruined easily by single dodge or invuls. The problem that scepter lacks soft and hard cc on main weapon to do those combos or you have to count dodges and do it when they have no dodge. with pistol or with CI traited focus or sword, you will have cc on weapon set, but sword/x will have 2 cc and not everyone runs sword/x , scepter/y setup. also being pro is not spamming every stuffs you have in certain time limit. Noone says make scepter like LB rangers or Warrior spam, I say make this weapon more user friendly and more variety gameplay instead of forcing to only condition weapon.

Strength of necro AA chain is fast but it does less damage compared to mesmer scepter and it is mostly used for stacking bleeding (especially bleeding stacking supported by grandmaster trait – increased bleeding duration by scepter skills). Also, Necros as axe as power range 1 handed weapon and Necro can benefit from DS. Instead of comparing to other classes, I think comparing scepter skills to mesmer’s other weapon skills is much better. Scepter AA chain is single target dps instead cleave that sword has it. Thats why I say 3rd chain should be a bit high or somewhere near to sword 3rd AA chain. You will still use sword when facing more than 1 enemy but against some bosses where you have to be at mid range ( staying max range with GS prevents you to get boon sharing from your party), I think scepter should be better alternative instead of GS where can’t provide proper phantasm for it. But first, that kitten clone on AA 3rd chain needs to be removed.
I am completely fine with mesmer scepter skills (it is sloppy but ok) but it needs some tweaks to make it efficient outside of condition gameplay and those changes are not that big for it.

Instead of dropping takes time or you have to be pro to specialise, I expected more constructive criticism, your video is irrelevant to this topic and use torch with sword so you can do proper spike. Also, your claim is invalid in dungeon situations and thats why this topic has PvX title instead of WvW or PvP only. Greatsword is not preferable for dungeon wise where you have to be close range or midrange (some bosses). Shifting scepter to both stats will make you ability to choose which phantasm to go depends on the situation instead of sub-optimal phantasm for dungeons aka izerker.
The suggestion I offered on icounter probably won’t have any practical effect for PvP/WvW except nerf on direct damage of icounter but will bring damage on PvE or where you plan to be more aggressive instead of someone hit obsolete animation or waiting point blank AOE to trigger it. Confusing images is horrid way (too slow) to apply 5 stacks of confusion and after perplex rune change (confusion on struck change instead confusion on hit), this skill can became totally ineffective. Practically you use for dodge bait or cover your strong conditions, but does good total direct damage when you have assassin or berserker gear. The problem is number of channels makes it less effective for pressure and dropping numbers of channels from 5 to 3 won’t make ranger longbow effect. For Ether clone, it is just weak last chain of AA. Clone generation from AA is just bad choice where this profession needs phantasms for damage (excluding shattering, you don’t need scepter for shattering – old scepter/sword build weak compared to today’s builds ). For PvP, not big deal to have clone AA or not, because you don’t have to worry about keeping 3 phantasms to do proper damage.

Current condition situation on scepter is fine and staff does better condition pressure with 3 clones up compared to scepter. Scepter condition pressure is kinda easy to avoid. If you hit icounter, just dodge or hit icounter with blind attack, so it will miss. scepter 3 is such joke skill for condition wise. 5 stacks of confusion with obsolete telegraph attack. that beam can hit AOE but good luck with make it work with poor enemy targeting. I still don’t get why that spell cast direction shouldn’t be like warrior gs3 (aim to direction then release the spell). This weapon don’t have any soft and hard cc, but its strength is punishing mindless gameplay.
well it seems you guys misunderstood my proposal. I am not saying make this weapon to hybrid weapon. I say scale this weapon for better according to stat wise and make it more active gameplay instead of waiting someone (referring npc) to hit your icounter.
I sorta like increased damage on targets who has confusion. It makes people to use more than 1 skill to make a proper burst.
customisation sounds like more expansion issue where PvP and PvE are separated. customisation may yield balance problems in PvP, especially high level.
Statement: Instead forcing scepter into condition weapon, why shall we make it more flexible weapon for both Power and Condition Spec.
Facts:
Scepter AA 1st and 2nd chain does good damage with power geared and with torment addition on 1st and 2nd chain boosted its damage compared to before.
Scepter AA 3rd chain seems weak even with power heavy geared and clone summon at 3rd chain is not really effective (especially after the nerf condition on clone death patch)
Scepter 2nd skill very strong in PvP aspects of the game but weak in PvE aspect of the game where you avoid the damage by timely dodges instead of block but mostly you faceroll to the stacking spot.
Scepter 3rd skill became weak after the confusion nerf and number of channels is too much for 5 stacks of confusion and with power spec channeling damage seems ok but number of channels makes it not effective spike skill.
Suggestions:
At first, I say Malicious Sorcery needs to rework and I think this trait should give %10 attacking speed instead of +200 condition damage.
Edit: To be fair new modified trait should be at Inspiration Grandmaster Tier exchange with Restorative Illusions trait
Second, Ether Clone needs to rework too. It does less damage compared to Mind Spike and Mind spike is a cleaving attack that hits up to 3 where Ether clone hits single target and does low damage. In addition, I believe scepter should be more midrange kiting weapon which also should punish aggressive mindless playing. Also, clone summoning should have been removed from AA chain too, this change will prevent scepter clones overwrites phantasms (mostly for PVE). I suggest 3rd AA chain should apply cripple on target for roughly 0.75-1 sec not quite sure.
Third, I think damage portion of Illusionary Counter should exchange with Counterspell and increase the damage of exchanged counter spell should be up by %50 ( same damage as old Illusionary Counter before torment buff ).
The last, number of channels of confusing images should reduce to 3 but keeping the current 5 channels damage in total. This will make the skill more effective for spikes.

Installed the patch, deleted guild wars 2 file from library folder and restarted. Nothing happened in TP wise. Also, I want to remind that I am still getting distorted colours and texture of minimap and map in wvw (Generally, the map goes in blue,red,green yellow colours, after a while textures (even the character) becomes distorted) then I get crash. This generally happens if I open map often.
Does it make your ascended trinket account bound after removing infusion? Anyone tried?

Mesmer-wise: Do you guys have any plan of redesigning mesmer’s scepter auto attack chain? Ether bolt and Ether blast seems weak especially when you are running with condition gear and spec. Reducing cast time of two may effect clone regeneration, but isn’t it better attach poison one of chain or increasing base damage of ether bolt and ether blast and lower amount of attack damage getting from power stat (currently 0.500 according to wiki)?
