Is it possible to get a Petrified Wood Node for our home instance or has anyone found such an item in game?
So with the new map out ive been able to max out every current line with XP but i have no mastery points to unlock anything. Is there a way to farm mastery points or a way to get more. i currently need like 40.
I just posted a Thread in HoT discussion about this a few moments ago..any idea when it’ll return?
Need Crimson Sunflower and its not there! Also ran into many others along the way that cant find it either, have looked everywhere and nothing. its suppose to be by this little chest and its not.
Do we have a list of skins and weapons that are newly available yet for the mystic forge?
I just watched the video and everyone else basically covered what you need to do to improve. I too at the start of this season thought i was above average and i was actually below. I received lots of advice on how to play my guardian which i was using as my main. I desperately didn’t want to change anything, but i did listen. I changed my weapons and my build. It took a few days but I noticed a massive amount of improvement. But it doesn’t end there! I immediately recognized that the new build/weps i was using would be outclassed later in more advanced matches. So instead of getting use to them i would learn skills i should have learned long ago, change up weapons and your build based on who your fighting and their classes. Never get comfortable with what your using and utilize everything you bring. After playing this season which was so frustrating to start with, I now have a new appreciation for pvp as well as the new skill sets i’ll be bringing back to pve.
Yes I was heavily criticized for the ‘1’ build i used and the wep set i brought. But i didnt take offense. If you do these things i promise you you’ll improve.
But as of now and seeing how you play i could take u down in 2 shots with my guard and there would be nothing you could do to stop me. Any other class i played would be just as easy. Infact i would target you for the fun of it. How you got to sapphire on your current set of skills is shocking to me. With what you bring to pvp your current division is above your skill set. Again though dont be offended by this, learn from what I as well as everyone else is saying. Infact id recommend watching those videos on mesmers playing in league.
Currently from what im seeing youd be a guaranteed kill for me in seconds. But if you change your build up and take the advice given you’ll be a formidable player. Infact I usually avoid mesmers with my meditrapper Guardian just because they can counter almost everything i throw at them.
Take a few days and change things up. Then make another video and lets reduce the list of issues found. This truly is the best place for you right now to improve. I’ll definitely follow your posts and provide advice.
The only thing I have for you right now is to stop playing mesmer all together, especially with the condition of your hand. Avoid using elementalist as well too many keys. Instead try MM reaper, way easier and easier on your left hand. Its way easy to learn in a day.
i’ll be watching Good luck mate!
3 weeks left for this season, most people are where they want to be.
League crossings do not reset, whatever you cross into you retain for the next season. But your question is confusing, can you rephrase?
Does that actually work? I once Dc’d for a minute a few days ago and got back into the match..still won it but lost a pip for desertion and got dishonor for dc’ing.
(Lesson learned: never play pvp while your internet company is outside your apartment doing Who know s what! ruined my entire day)
Hey i Remember sapphire and how frustrating it was I was in T3 for so long but i changed up my routine, created a guild for sapphires/rubys and figured out a few of my strengths and strengthened my weaknesses along the way. Best thing to do is take some of these guys up on their offers and join a pvp guild. keep playing, eventually you’ll get out and get to ruby, each tier will be painful but easier than the last.
I made it to Diamond Division today, so I manage to cross an extra tier while working on part 4 year of the ascension. My original goal was ruby this season and ruby next season. The only thing I need left to complete part 4 now is 2 Division crossings(To be completed next season) and 10 wins each in two additional professions. My question is probably impossible to answer at this moment because the Devs could make virtually any change for season 3. But for this season they reset everyone’s MMR. I’m curious if our MMR will once again be reset for season 3 or if our current divisions this season will grant us a different MMR for next season(as suggested in several other threads)??
My curiosity comes from the fact that ive only used my guardian to get to ruby last season and diamond this season. I mainly play PVE, but I can hold myself very well in PVP with my Guard. I just cant seem to do very well in any other profession in PVP. I still need to use other professions to finish part 4, but i started this season out using all others and getting massive lose streaks barely making part 2/3 achievement professions. Once I realized I was destroying my MMR I quickly switched to my guard to try and recover which left me in a sort of MMR hell for the last 4 weeks. Regardless I manage to recover with about 65%-75% win/lose ratio(at quick glance)going from ruby to diamond. But before that when my MMR was destroyed with me trying to get profession wins completed, my win ration from Amber to Emerald was 10%-30% in Solo Q. Teaming up and creating my own PVP Guild saved and help me(along with several others) painfully grind our way to ruby. I’m planning on taking a different approach now by playing a little unranked with likely Scrapper/Reaper with meta builds. But im certainly going to be a cause for failure once I get back into ranked. Plus my win/lose ratio will likely drop a bit. Should I be concerned at all about my MMR at this point since Ive met my goals for this season? Should I wait till Season 3 and blast my way to sapphire with my guardian then try the other 2 professions for completion?
Any advice or recommendations would be great.
Just keep in mind my main concerns for writing all this is to Preserve my MMR and to not burden others who are playing their way through Ruby/Diamond by practicing other professions.
So im in the same spot as OP with 1 cross into Part 4 of elite crossing. so I’ll have to get into ruby next season right and not diamond?
Even a DH with longbow 1,2,5 skills can easily kill any necros without them touching you. Necros are way over used and many I’m running into now even in Ruby haven’t played that class very long.
I’ve played sever matches in Ruby today with emeralds showing up on my team for solo q
I feel ya I’ve spent 5-8hours a day since league started trying to play my way out. My biggest mistake was starting out with my worst known professions and trying to do the meta achievements not realizing that every lose was hurting me in the long run
So I didn’t see any of this in the patch notes? Can anyone post a link of the details from the update to pvp?
Wow haven’t seen this happen yet.
So obviously most non pvp players are in pvp now this season to get this pvp exclusive piece(including myself). I hate pvp, its not my thing i’m exclusive to pve and its the pve experience in GW2 that has made me fall in love with this game to begin with. But I’m here now competing in league for those wings. I’m ok with 2 maybe even 3 professions but not good enough to say even nearly 1 v1 or 1v2 average players in pvp. I’ve so far made it to Ruby division for season 1, today crossing into emerald with the worst losing streak ive ever had in any game. Personally my experience with this season in its first week has been terrible! It feels like its taking away from other aspects of this game that id like to dedicate time to, but i’m wasting 4-8 hours each day for 1-2 wins. Even after meeting my dailys for some form of advancement through year of the ascension tier 3 which i have no idea how i’ll get through tier 4. I’ve looked at what it’ll take to earn the elite set of wings plus 5 certificates and i need 55 to complete. Basically to break it down i need to get to sapphire this season, sapphire next season and ruby for last season or in any order to finish for the legendary back piece.
I really wish we had more alternatives in the year of ascension achievement lines for those non pvpers to utilized for dedicating so much effort into pvp. I’m not asking for a hand out(or gimmies), just compensation fort time and effort. At this rate its looking grim for me needing to cross so many league divisions in order to finish up the tier 4 year of ascension. It would be terrible for me to get to season 4 and fall so short just because i cant finish out that one achievement line. I hate hearing people shout at us Pve players ‘get gud’ or ‘learn to pvp’ etc etc. I understand my limitations and i’m never gonna be that good at pvp.
Basically i’m writing all this to explain my understanding of how to get the legendary back piece.
i’m asking at this point, Am I Wrong?
Will we still have other opportunities to get what we’re missing to finish it if we fall short after season 4?
I hear many player responses to these questions but never one from Anet. Obviously i’m going to dedicate alot of time to pvp to earn this for the next 3 seasons, so I feel like a reasonable response from anet is warranted.
I just hit sapphire myself after reset. Now time to climb to ruby. If I can make it into ruby I’ll be satisfied for the season. Basicly 5 tiers, 5 win streaks each in the next 6 weeks.
With that said how many seasons are there
never mind it appears the daily matches only count within itself and doesnt advance the meta. So looks like i wont be able to get those wings.
my daily isnt advancing the meta line though
I could be wrong here, but from what i was told and seen so far is that you can advance the achievement tracks by just winning 3 matches everyday. So it seems they designed it in a way to let you play the way you want and still advance. However if you ‘want’ the achievements per category you’ll need to expand yourself and try other classes. It seems to be intelligently designed to me that they want you to at least try other ways of playing pvp and to have a broader experience in GW2 in general.
TY Harbringer, i did notice different wording in tier 3 and 4 where it states that you’ll receive an ‘item’ instead of advancement in meta. Unless its one in the same just worded differently. i guess for us pve players this will put more ease of mind and kinda keep the mediocre players such as myself out of pvp more, but give us a little more practice. Still to keep up we’ll need to achieve each category every 2 weeks. Not including the fact we’ll need tickets as well to buy the wings. The first set being 10 tickets and much more i’m sure for the next 3. I’m assuming the remaining 3 are what cost more than what league gives out per season.
I dont see how this is an issue. pve’ers still need to advance in the league to get tickets to buy the back pieces either way.
So I’m going to start out saying that I love everything about gw2. I’m not a good pvp player though. In fact I mostly play unranked and I seem to always lose most of my ranked play throughs. I would almost consider myself a elitist (with out the attitude) in pve. I just can’t seem to transfer my pve skills to pvp. I don’t mind that the new legendary Wings of Glory is a pvp exclusive, despite the fact I’m sure we’ll see complaints that it is and unfair to pve/wvw players. But either way it still makes me a bit nervous that as a mediocre pvp player that I may not earn my wings. So my question is how much time will I need to invest in pvp? Are there specific barriers or challenges I must over come? If I’m short of my goal in season 1 can I reclaim what’s left in season 2?
I’ve already asked this once before in a different forum, and received negative feedback. Including that only top teir players will receive their wings and that lower skilled players have no chance or should stay out of pvp.
Again this isn’t a complaint against pvp. More of an assessment and request for guidance for us lower skilled pvp players. So I ask that once leagues hits tomorrow if we can get a guide to the Wings of Glory including any constructive way to advance our skills in ranked arena?
Thanks to all who contribute to this topic.
Out of curiosity can anyone post or provide a quote or source on Anets responses to CoF?
I would really love to see the 2012 skins and mad memories come back again this year. Even if it means relisting the old ones into a new black lion weapons specialist catagory. When the game first launched I was taking my time exploring pve to its fullest as well as pvp, and wvw. So I never advanced far enough to get the second half of the mad memories book. Plus most of us were still learning the game. I love this game and play it every day. Halloween is my favorite event in gw2 so please come through this year and give us one more chance at the 2012 event.
Out of curiosity what is ArenaNets policy on recording GW2 game play and commentary? I see lots of videos on youtube, but mostly just quick texted tutorials. I havent recorded anything or even plan to. But the thought seems to need an answer lol
I’m a very faithful player. I’ve played since launch and the previous Guild Wars 1. I try my best not to be critical since this is my favorite game but I’m very disappointed in a lot of things I see pertaining to Halloween. Now for the first 2 months of the game since launch before halloween 2012, most of us(including me) where out exploring the world. Doing map completions, discovering the first 2-3 dungeons, trying to get a feel for this game. Once the Halloween update hit that was exciting! Lots of new stuff and comparing things to the old Guild Wars. I did hit a road block when I couldn’t complete the backpiece because it took me to areas I hadn’t even came close to and had no way of figuring out at least then on how to get there. So when halloween 2013 hit, i was excited again yet immediately disappointed when I saw that that event was removed and not re-released. Come to find out most players I play with have the same problem. The other big issue I had where the 2012 halloween skins. In my opinion the best skins ever to be released for gw2. Yet I cant seem to be able to obtain any of them without forking over +1000g. I was hoping at least they would throw them into the vendor like the Black Lion Weaponsmith or the Holiday Vendor. I still have my fingers crossed that our complaints have been heard and that these things will be available again this year. I Hope
I’ve literally did everything possible(except bear form-just learned the trick) with my guardian to beat her. i could out survive, but the timer usually dropped me. Everyone told me to use my warrior, that it didnt even need top gear or any specific traits. BEAT her on my 3rd try(first 2 loses were weapon swap screw ups on auto targeting). All i did was trait melee weapon speed boost, with my GS equiped for 1st phase. Then Targeted her directly while moving around outer rim. Used endurance regen signet. Used rifle skills 4,2,3, while 1 auto fired. took her out before 2nd aoe could hit. I was shocked how easy warriors can take her out and thats usually what i see while watching and waiting for my turn. But finally killed her so victory
So wait Shadow of Grenth is tradeable, but Light of Dwayna is not?
The middle section with exploding presents is all messed up! This simply cant support that many people jumping threw. The one time i made it past and almost to the end 2 jumps away and the thing reset! why is this competitive pvp? The middle section definitely needs to go back to the way it was
For a group who wants the end achievements yes! And if they are rushed and split into the areas necessary to complete the tasks. I’ve run this path about 15 times today, spent the whole day. I tried one last group and they didn’t even know there was end achievements. They followed instructions to the key and I managed to complete Above and Beyond finally. The point is, this achievement takes all 5 players coordinated together to get this. I know anet wants us to work together but it gets increasingly difficult when you have to relies on someone else to get it done.
This achievement is almost impossibly hard to do. Its so difficult to run this entire dungeon with a competent group. To have one Single person leave at the end or fall off the ledge and mess up the achievement for everyone . I’ve tried this path so many times today and beat the boss so many time to have one single person ruin ’Above and Beyond" for EVERYONE! This really needs to be revamped so that a single player alone can finish if they choose.
I’d like an invite to tts
