So I know this is something that the devs would more know but I’d love any information I can get! Bbasically I was wondering if those specific norn hairstyles (the jora ones) would be available for humans. I know this has happened before for some styles..so I’m hopeful this one will be as well.
Alright so..I’ve been out of the loop for a while so excuse my.. I guess you can say ignorance?
Anyway, since I’m thinking of making one I just wanted a bit of insight as to what a dragon hunter’s main role is and what they are good for/generally used for. Also, I’m a PvE person so of course answer from a PvE perspective. :P
I’d assume you guys would know what I’m talking about from the title. Which one do you personally prefer and why? I do realize one is a specialization and one is not but I’m choosing between the two soo..yeah.
I’d also post in class subforums if I wasn’t asking about two different ones so please excuse that.
Well basically what the title says – what are your feelings on this?
My only experience in raids is the first boss of the first wing. I played as just a DPS. I didn’t have much time then but I do now and I want to get in to it. Anyway, don’t get me wrong.. I don’t mind gearing up a druid. However, the Tempest aura, rebound overload thing is more my style. I’ve been suprised at how well it does personally and I don’t see a problem with it. It’s all around more fun and I feel more skillful at it than druid. I just don’t exactly know how other people feel about it.
..But from what I’ve heard, druid is prefered.
So if I were to want to join a raid as a tempest and be the healer would it be viable? And even it was viable would I be discriminated against, kicked out of the party, or insulted? I know people in the game do that.. and it doesn’t bother me too much but I still want to have a good time.. you know?
So what are your thoughts? If I can’t should I play a non-healer tempest instead? A druid? or maybe even a different class altogether? What are my options?
P.S.- if it works out I’d probably be using it in high leveled fractals as well

It’s not mandatory. Don’t use it. I know people are stuck on the idea of meta and do what everyone else is doing and you know.. whatever. At times that works but sometimes you just need to be a more fun and creative player. Play a different class or make other weapon options work.
My pet names are mostly inside jokes..so they suck to the average person but are awesome or hilarious to me
Brown Bear – Adam (after my significant other)
Shark – angry Adam
Jungle Stalker – Buttercup (after my cat)
Jellyfish – Jellychase – after my silly friend
Black bear – monokuma (Dangan Ronpa character)
Well good! I support you and your GOOD attitude towards the class(no matter what)
I’ve seriously heard enough negetive, salty kittens who take the game too seriously and insult everything they see because it isn’t good enough for them or “in meta”
So yeah..+1 for you I hope you have a lot of fun with it! (because we know the try-hards won’t)
I feel like LB/staff is one of the best combos. I will personally do that myself however, choosing to use LB means I will not be a dedicated healer. I’ll be using staff and druid utilities for that extra support/cc/suistain that ranger was lacking before.
Sorry I won’t be posting an exact build as you asked, it’s so early I really don’t know how my build will look.. but.. I thought sharing some details would be a good addition to the topic.
You know, I agree with you 100%. However the more I test out druid the more I realize the druid is really NOT a dedicated healer. It looks more to me like the skills on staff are yes, supportive but just as supportive as any other class. It’s like running a GS/staff mesmer for example. Thats what druid is really starting to feel like for me. They gave the rangers the one thing they were lacking, all around support. That’s why we were left out of parties. Right? People hate our selfish skills. The only thing for the druid is the celestial avatar however runs on high healing and it gives you an option to run full healing power if you want.
Something else I’d also like ot mention. I’ve also been testing out tempest. Water ele/tempest in particular. I’ve noticed massive amount of easy healing, healing auras and protecting. If I wanted to be a dedicated healer I’d pick the ele class.
Tl;dr
It feels way more fluid and right to main healing on the tempest.
It feels way more right to use druid’s staff as a supportive weap thats gives you cc, buffs, and suistainability when needed.
Only problem with what I’m saying is this could just be my play style and how I see it personally. Thought I’d share this anyway.
I don’t get it. I’ve been fully able to use my new pets. Just get out of pvp silly. I didn’t realize pvp was all that mattered to some people. Just think of the normal game as a nice testing ground for right now. :P
I so far am still learning and going through everything carefully. So I’m sorry I’m only reporting one thing so far. .
Something I noticed immediately and I thought should be said before I forget is the way the druid holds the staff. That stance works GREAT with the daredevil because it fits the battle style.
But it’s just awkward and overall not as nice on the druid. I’ve also seen other people comment on this as well. I think the majority of us would love it if the druid held the staff in the normal staff-wielding way.
I also just finished 2 rounds of this event. I got nothing for both of them as well.
Well honestly guys I didn’t care until I heard they were giving out refunds. I wasn’t one of those people who whined but I did see their point and I agreed secretly until now. If something like a refund was really going to be given out I wouldn’t want to miss out. Anyway forget it guys. I was wrong.
Well I thought refunding was because people were so mad that they have to pay so muchwhile others don’t.
Why should I pay for the game full price (at it’s more expensive time) and buy HoT while other get a free game with HoT?
The refunds were because of how they handled the FAQS and that it may have gotten new players to purchase the game not expecting it to be included for free for new accounts when purchasing the expansion.
If you have played any games other than GW2, you would know that prices drop over time. Those who bought the game when they were released, paid more than those who bought it years later. Were you up in arms when the new players could buy the core game for $10 when it was on sale? How about the $25 or so that it’s currently going for? If not then, then why now. Everyone is paying the same price for the expansion which is $50.
You think a character slot is adequate for me and people like me?
I didn’t buy the core game today. I bought HoT today. Don’t you think it makes more sense to refund people who have had the actual game since release?
No. I can’t think of a single instance ever that a company has refunded a used game nearly three years later. If you had truly read what the posters were talking about then you would know the reasoning for the refunds to certain players.

JediYoda – You just copy and pasted everything I already read before posting. I said two things in my post that makes me think you didn’t read it.
I don’t really have an opinion either way on this name. I mean, it’s not great but it’s not bad either. I mostly made this comment however to talk about how too seriously people are taking this and how immature they look while complaining.
I’m actually really suprised that for a for a disconcerting amount of older adults who seemingly takes over a large percentage of this game’s population is acting so immature over something as small as a class name.
Just asking cause why not :P mines around 105% )(yeah I haven’t been trying that hard)
I guess I can say when it comes to Guild Wars with it’s armor and vanity items I’m a mix and matcher. I also know many others mix and match as well. But when it comes to skins everyone knows you have to buy the full set. It’s very inconvenient to me because I’m only using a part of the full set of the skin I just bought..which ultimately wastes some of my money.
..so basically I think it’d help a ton if we could buy separate parts of a skin.
To anyone reading this just let me know what you guys think and you know, if the majority of people care enough about this!
Well you are right. I don’t have specific studies proving that teens are the minority, it just seems that way. It’s nice to see others opinions on this. I guess I’m also a little bit different I love this game at this age and I hardly ever get bored.
Alright so I guess a little back story on my part. I am 18 at the moment. I have been playing MMORPG games for a very long time. (since maybe 13 years old) Through that time I have met the majority of the people on each game who are aged from 13-22 years of age.
From my history I have been completely oblivious to the fact older people (30-50) play. Which, don’t get me wrong I don’t care who plays and I’m glad everyone of any age plays..xD Its a very cool thing to see that actually.
It’s just..what about this game in particular makes teens the minority? P2P?
I guess I would personally play largo over tengu because of appearance. i respect your opinion completely I just don’t understand why a human structured eagle is more appealing than a winged elven succubi xD..
Btw largos are viewed as assassins only, so we only allow the thief class to play them? I know there would be ways around it but to most people they are simply more appealing as npcs.
That is true however I think they could be easily be limited to fighter classes rather than just thief. On the Largo wiki it does say they are assassins and you are right but it also says and a quote,
“Largos are fighters that are trained in killing, often silently, and as such are assassins. They are secretive and do not openly share information – either about them or their techniques – and often work alone. To them, assassination is a way of life rather than a job. In fighting, largos have only been seen to use dual swords or a spear. "
They use swords and such as well. So would people really mind if there was a race that didn’t use magic?
Pretty sure all races of Tyria have people within who can use magic to an extent. That would be a largos choice to not use it. I don’t hate the largos, I think most people like them in fact. Playing them just isn’t as appealing, I love them as npcs and possibly lore around them xD
As for not using magic even if they could, That would be interesting. Personally I wouldn’t mind much, but I don’t know what the community would think about that.

Largos..How many of you guys love Largos? I know I do! If I had to choose the next playable race I would defiantly choose the Largo race.
Yes, you heard me correctly. I choose Largos over Tengu.. why? I choose the largo race because of their incredibly amazing appearance.
They have beautiful wings and blue skin sort of like a demon or a succubi. Ears sort of like a elf or a dwarf. They are well known assassins and trained undersea fighters. How cool is that? Why just explain these amazing creatures when I can show them off? There is a picture of a very nice largo in attachments.
So, All in all I want to see others opinions about them. I would also like to ask anyone who is willing to answer – >Why are Tengu more anticipated than Largo?< Cause quite honestly, the fact people like the eagles more saddens me.
