I’ll actually respond to this, becuase i am also a thief, running full travelers runes, shadowstep, signet of agility, and the shortbow shadowshot, and there is NOTHING you can do you catch/kill some of these warriors. Either you literally cannot keep up with them, or you barely manage to and they just shrug off the few hits you manage to land while fighting at a full out sprint. What happened to the core notion that a thief was supposed to have some actual mobility?
Thieves do have mobility. Just because Warriors have the same mobility doesn’t mean you’re slow.
Gotta love thief players..the handicap isn’t enough so they resort to asking nerfs for other classes and resorting to hacks if they aren’t busy running away when losing.
Thief Shortbow teleport initiative cost needs to be increased. There is no reason for them to teleport all the way from one end of the map to the other.
Warrior GS mobility needs a nerf -usually thief/war players are the one running whenever they are about to lose-.
Engy rocket boots+eternal swiftness+ 2 blocks need a nerf
Ele Fiery sword mobility needs a nerf
The mobility has to be brought down to the slow classes like Necros and guardians.
This is pvp..not a hide and seek or running away game. Sheesh. Never seen anything as bad as in this game’s class balance.
If you all want to be objective you must provide numbers or examples to the table.
These are examples of how OP can be any class . . . the people here complaining about thieves has no objective points . . they are just angry because they still do not how to deal with thieves.

That’s because the non thief pvpers who want some balanced pvp were ignored since launch so they ditched the game.
Have you noticed a significant decline in pvp skill level in spvp and wvw recently? Yea..
That’s what happens when you ignore your customers’ valid complaints. Favor a minority of people who are after the next fotm and you lose the majority. Brilliant tactic.
I have an armor rating of 2682, and i am getting critically hit by thieves up to 12k? What gives?? I am stacking toughness to defend against this crap and still am getting dropped faster than i can even counter it. Unless i am doing something wrong, i am getting close to uninstalling this game. I dont mean to rage or anything but there appears to be a serious WvW balance issue. The average hit from them is around 4k but still with how fast they strike it kills me 4-kittens.
There is also a damage hack out there. Simply google gw2 hacks and you will be appalled at how many hacks are left unchecked. I’ve seen a warrior use it with an axe auto attack and I have the highest pwr+crit damage in the game on mine and I can’t even hit close to it.
It’s usually thieves because playing a handicap broken class isn’t enough for players with the mentality to play those classes. There are also health hacks where a thief stealths and immediately pops out full health -he just used his hack..been pvping since launch..-. There is a known thief on CD who does this and was reported countless times with no result.
As always, the only people who think thieves are balanced are the people who play them -including the devs-. It’s like Kim Jong-il being the only one thinking North Korea is a-ok.
As always, the only people who think thieves are op are the people who can’t be bothered to learn how to fight them.

I have no idea why there isn’t an option for reporting a hack. Just put it there, investigate when you get the report by simply looking into the accounts log for any abnormalities..done..
We are starting to see hacks more and more in WvW because the hackers are being left alone.
Engis also have some very powerful conditions builds & tankish builds actually, should we ask to nerf them ?
Use dodges, positioning, and condi removals to avoid the most painful strikes from thieves. Once you survive those blows, they are usually very fragile if you have retal up, conditions, immobilization etc.
You can be successful in killing them with many conditions, a lot of burning in particular tends to make them reappear downed.
Also, you should not be ashamed to lose 1vs1 to a thief in WvW.
Lonely roaming assassination is their domain. It endorses group play instead of lone players in WvW. Working as intented to me.

Just now, having a good 1v1 with a JQ engineer for about 3 minutes. Then he brings 4 of his guildies in to kill me. That is what I’m talking about guys…
This isn’t a custom dueling arena in spvp. Wvw is broken zerging.
The sooner people realize this and ditch the game or move on the better everyone will be.

Simply stop using the forms and stick to reddit, or Guru or wherever. Going even slightly off topic can result in an infraction. There are a lot of rules to follow if you dislike them then it’s best to not even bother.
I am not saying I approve of name calling or the such but these forums feel a lot more restricted than many other MMO boards in the past. Just my opinion on the matter.
Instead of removal just moderate it better.
edit: As a player and a fan of this game, it feels like any time something is broken or not working the solution is to remove it. In game, in the forums, wherever. Why is this always the solution?

Silly boy..anyone who plays a stealth class – especially the most broken one in mmo history:gw2- is not someone who likes a challenge. Ask them to roll a ranger or warrior and watch them pee their pants in panic.
I’m from HOD and the only zergling guilds comparable to T1 are mu -who are more or less mixed with dx- and we got swat rom maguma who might merge with mu/DX to combat the vast numbers.
FKB try their best but without dedicated builds they get wiped against organized groups and larger numbers.
VLK is not successful and their commander plays a thief..I kid you not.. The name is intimidating like chopsticks or knives or something.
HOD will be on the bottom half of silver but the wvw community is active and aggressive so transfer if you enjoy a challenge and want to prove your zergy skills like MU.
LFM experienced players with group oriented builds. If you need help coming up with those builds, we don’t mind helping out. Have to be willing to go with a group friendly build e.g. tanky war cc/condi conver. hammer+s/w. In other words, no GC builds if you can’t handle your self when left alone.
Necros, Wars and Guards are preferable but other classes are welcomed. Some of us have multiple classes so you won’t be pigeon holed into always playing a certain class/build.
We don’t require guild rep or constant running with us
. Just looking for capable players to slaughter with.
We plan on moving on to wildstar or ESO once it comes out and would like to carry with us able players.
TeamSpeak is a must but a mic is not needed. Gotta know to listen and not chase squirrels.
We run every night and we are organized: Dedicated stomper, peeler, calling downs/fields/cc for burst.

you win or lose depending if you have guardians. That is how broken the class balance is in this game.
For busting zergs:
boon guardians, tanky hammer war, well necros, eles. Mesmer or 2 for invis.
Boon duration has not been nerfed in wvw and thus the logical choice is to go after the broken classes in wvw: boon guardian+boon ele.
Why are you playing this game? Don’t play wildstar, too. Same company.

It’s a stolen ability..you do damage when you steal and teleport..we don’t have steal to damage with nor do we teleport to get that axe ability.
Also, are you seriously suggesting you have abilities better than other classes’ versions of it on top of the broken stealth mechanics?
Auto axe attacks do more dmg in less time.
Axe 5 is useless even with arrow reflection because you still have no stability and are exposed to direct damage and condis. The meta of the game is Condis atm and AOEs.
The meta of the game is also ranged attacks and axe 5 is just gimping your self.
Also, Axe 4 is crap since we have access to fury from our elite that 95% of the warrior base uses.
GS, Axe and rifle need reworking to make them valid.
Conveniently, perma-stealth is going tomorrow. There you go.

For the roaming, I started and played for months on T1. It is too zergy with few roamers.
You spend the majority of the time running from zergs or getting rolled by them when you run into the occasional roamer. Don’t believe me? Roll there and see how ‘fun’ it is.

You can’t kill something that’s totally immune to damage
endure/defy pain. Notice the active duration and cooldown.

Face it OP, you were completely outplayed.
Smart warriors have 10 seconds of endure pain, almost 9 seconds of immunity vs conditions and have two stabilities. One to back up the 2nd in case the 1st gets ripped. The OP might have run into those. Endure pain, zerker stance can’t be rippd. I doubt two necros will waste rip boon on one warrior. I always pop one expecting it to be ripped then pop the 2nd right after.
Now..imagine 2-3 or 4 wars like that? Guardians can do the same thing with tons of boons, block heal, lotsa Aegises, 3sec immunity, etc etc

Have necros to rip the stab. Not hard. I always rip the stab and ask ppl to focus them down. Endure pain lasts 5 sec and zerker stance 8. Few ppl spec into increased stance which gives an extra 1sec each, almost.
Blind hammer wariors. Have a neco spam AOE blind. That is pretty op in zerg fights.
Zerker stance doesn’t stop CCs from landing, u can still knock them back

Don’t stand in a cluster. Only bad players cluster. Even if you clustered, the warrior cc affects only 5 ppl.
You are complaing about warriors and not boon abuse guardians with 7 boons each lasting 20+ seconds including protection?
You do realize that necros and eles can rez and eles can rez with a range of 1200, right? The problem isn’t the warrior banner..the problem is rezzing an npc. This should not happen via skills. The lords should only get rezzed once the circle is reset back to zero.
Don’t forget about perma stealth thieves rezzing..
There are tons of things broken in this game..you are just noticing one thing one year into the game..?
Lack of organisation on your part and lack of good judgment/ability to do their job on the dev part does not constitute a fault with the other players abusing the brokenmechanics

its BS. this dumb aoe cap is really starting to get on my nerves because its completely helping zergs in every way shape and form. more people = more AOEs = more spam = more people being hit, less people = less AOEs = less ability to combat larger numbers. Adding an RNG 5 man AOE law was a horrible idea when it was implemented and now I hear its getting more parameters in the next patch. WTF. just stop anet. people should be punished for standing in AOEs regardless of how many people are beside them. boons wouldnt even be a concern after the patch nerfs boon stacking so what do you have to worry about removing the AOE cap? OH CRAP GUYS SKILLED PLAYERS ARE BEATING 50 MAN ZERGS BETTER NERF SKILL! what next make it hit all players in downstate first before hitting everyone else? or how about just reduce the damage dealt by the people with less numbers by 50%. how far will you take this bs about AOE laws anet…
The solution is easy: Don’t play the game. By playing the game you are rewarding the develops responsible for WvW and pvp for a terrible design and a horrible job.
There are tons of other games out there and new consoles coming out that reward skill over numbers and baddies.
This is a stupid idea. If you look at the server distribution, some servers are getting crushed by the majority in their suggested bracket by the OP e.g.HOD.
Unless they fix the underlying problems causing the population imbalance and overwhelmingly favoring numbers over skill and organization, No new league system the failed WvW devs come up with will change anything.
You treat the cause..especially if you suck at treating the symptom.
Anet has to stop being greedy and forcing people to ditch the game -especially with the new consoles coming out- and address the problem rather than trying to profit off of a sinking ship through server transfers.
This not only affects the customer base in this game but will tarnish the company’s name in future developments.
Healing signet, mobility, and CC basically defines new-age warrior builds.
As long as a build uses all 3 you’ve capitalized on all warrior strengths. So yea disengaging engage disengaging often makes sense.
Maybe running away the majority of the time and using broken mechanics like unlimited teleports such as the S/D thief you play constitutes skill for thieves? I think for the actual gaming community that is called cheap and getting carried by your class.
As for warriors, running away half the time is fun now? If you are running away half the time from a fight against a good group then your team mates will get ripped since you are there half the time.
A good player stays in for the majority of the fight to help the group, not run away and leave his group members on their own. Hell..you can just equip GS and sword and run away 80% of the time if this is the definition of a good war player.
Sorry but I’m not convinced that running away from fights the majority of the time constitutes skill nor fun.

Hope they nerf the healing signet/condi builds in wvw. Such a bore to play them.
You are also falling into the rotation trap. You just spam any ability that is up. For example, you throw torment then you immobilize with F1. Kinda defeats the purpose of torment. You throw blind blindly. Gotta save it for big moves like war hammer burst etc.
Just aoe on top of your self and go through a rotation..o wait..all the builds are like that X-D. O well I guess it’s about time we had cheap builds like thieves and mesmers.
It’s funny watching how useless the opponents struggles are with this build :P.
Why do you have runes of perplexity and unsuspecting foe since you got zero CCs? Wrong build?

Nice video but all I saw were fights against bad and squishy players.
Most of the video was running away from a fight then running back then running away..then running back… I’m not sure if the definition of skill for warrior players these days is running away half the time.
It’s scary seeing all the old forum posters/old players/ good players quit the game.
And now newcomers are congratulating each other on this stuff >.>. I guess Anet’s plan is to survive on new blood while forcing the old to quit due to non competitive wvw/spvp.

Why do you want a stability shout when warriors already have essentially a total of 45 seconds of stability? (balanced stance x2, dolyak sig, rampage, stomp stability 1 sec) I doubt warrior’s will get more stability. I’m pretty sure vigorous shouts is getting a healing buff. Plus, warriors do have perma vigor access, though im not entirely sure it’s worth it. I only see vigor working with a boon-build+empowered… so theres that. Warrior’s don’t really have need for protection because they already have such a high health pool and really high defense/stability, etc. Seriously, roll guardian if you want good protection…but If warrior, i doubt you’d want to run Forge Runes just for 10sec protection on 60sec cd
So he can take advantage of trait line buffs associated with the shout like reduced cool down, heals, condition removal without diluting your points on speccing into a stance or a signet. Makes sense. More choices.

Adapt to the game mechanics. If you find the game not to your liking, there’s always other games out there.
To better the game, what we can do is to point out bugs, exploits, and stuff that need fixing. And of course dish out our million dollar ideas for free. But in the end of the day, we are gamers, players, and just here to have fun.

Not really. It makes sense that if they have a steady guaranteed cash income they won’t resort to such pathetic tactics. Just because you say the same will happen doesn’t mean it will.
‘Other games out there’ so the translation is dump all the time and effort you spent into the game and leave. What game mechanics are you talking about again? The ones that favor zergling baddies like the downed state, AOE cap, Blood lust? Maybe I should post a video about me zerging with a blood lust buff and brag about it, huh?

We ‘gamers’ are customers. Customers pay money. Please don’t try and degrade the customer base. We aren’t kids. Fixing bugs and exploits isn’t enough to keep a game from dying. The majority of the good wvw and spvp guilds/groups left the game a while ago.

Most of the zergs couldn’t even follow me tonight, I was ducking in the small alleyways and circling behind them to pick off stragglers, I got caught a few times but had way more kills then you would before the new map. Maybe its being in a balanced teir (1) but the buff changed hands so much it wasn’t even an issue.
You’re a thief. You’re supposed to be a cheap class and use your broken mechanics to get away.
I don’t see how this changed with these map changes..
The buff will be an issue since the majority of the time it will be in the hands of the zerg. Also, larger server means more people are available to capture those points so this mechanism rewards players on big servers for..paying for the transfrers to those big servers..huh..funny that..
While I fully understand the issues the patch brings, I am creating a new thread as I don’t agree with certain things in the threads before this.
I LOVE the new small teams fighting the new ruins and capture points give roamers. We have been neglected for so long, and this opens it up to us. I just wanted to say thank you. I feel like I have something to do now.
I kind of like the Buff, but I realize it should be an optional buff. Many people don’t recognize SPvP as the place to go duel, and WvW is the next best thing. I liked an idea posted which said you should be able to pick the buff up somewhere if your server has it.
I’m confused, however, by the lag. Is it lag from the new PvE event? Or are new calculations throwing your servers into overdrive? Hopefully it works itself out, as I was missing a lot in my fights today due to lag.
All in all, I’m pumped by this patch, and I’ve heard from a lot of people in game on how excited they are as well. One day in, I’ve had a lot of fun.
So in essence you are glad they added more capture points to fight over? Notice how the position of the capture points resembles spvp maps? Notice how spvp was always there to try and check it out?
You do realize they just added spvp areas to the center of wvw with the added disadvantage of the pve imbalance in the game?
I’m really enjoying the new terrain, as quite frankly it’s a breath of fresh air. I particularly like all the little nooks and crannies and structures that can be scaled. Already had many interesting fights there.
As for the buffs, well the stomp buff is great as it allows solo and small group roamers to wrack up some points for their server (zergs very rarely stomp anything). But at present the stat buff doesn’t seem quite right to me. It just doesn’t really add anything of value to WvW and feels out of place. I would have much preferred something that was linked to structure upgrades or created a similar harassment mechanic in the same way as the Quaggan nodes with those lightning bolts.
Also, some sort of reward for capturing and defending the points would be nice too. Maybe just enough silver to cover the repair bills ;-)
A-You are complimenting a supposedly pvp area because it looks pretty? Lots of pillars there for ranged builds to keep going back and forth and running around them for silly kiting..not a fun way to play..
B-Stomp buffs are silly and no group goes around stomping because they want to gain points to the server. They want to..you know..pvp and have fun.. If they wanted server points they’d go PVdooring like the rest of the casuals.
C-Are you suggesting more PVE upgrades to keeps from these supposedly new pvp content?
Yep..all the PvPers left the game a long time ago and now we are left with PVErs making wvw an even worse pve experience.
Take another screenshot 5 minutes later and in all likelihood the buffs will be completely different.

You look at the percentage of time a zergy server has all 3 orbs which is..a lot.
Better solution: Leave the game and save your self the heartburn.
The devs have made it clear for a full year that wvw/pvp is not their priority but pve and making money.

You leave stupid people doing a job, they keep doing stupid mistakes.
Another mechanisms to favor numbers and puts larger servers at a bigger advantage.
It’s basically the orb buff but :
A-They implimented a stupid mechanism -capture the node, the only pvp mode they are capable of, lol-
And
B-They removed the more fun orb capturing aspect since they failed for a full year to tackle a simple hack involving their own product

Stability/stunbreaker doenst help against warrior. Warrior can do like 21 stuns in 70 secs, while ele can only be about 10 sec immune to them (armor of earth + mistform). That leaves about 18 stuns, you TOTALLY cannot break. 18 free HARD cc’s…
If Anet still don’t see it’s op well then i’m at a loss for words. It’s ok in pvp, it’s totally NOT OK IN WVW. Also Balanced stance is overpowered. It’s the best stunbreaker in game, the best stability in game, with low cd. 10 sec complete immunity to these stuns? Why would warrior be immune to it’s only counterplay? They need a weakness to you know. And it’s hard to find that with all those stuns, immunities, healing signet, adrenal health, 21k base hp, 2400 base armor.
Please don’t post before realizing what a warrior is capable of.
If you are complaining about warriors in wvw then thieves -by your logic- should have been nerfed to the ground in wvw.
Also, Eles and guardian boon duration should be nerfed similar to spvp. Why should you have a high uptime of protection and might? I fail to see why this should be different from spvp.
You have 2 commonly used stun breakers : armor of earth, arcane armor and a reactive armor of earth. You also have access to lightening flash which works while stunned thus by the time the slow stun warrior reaches you, the stun wore off and he can’t get off a big attack. Most of them can’t reach you in time if you LF behind them.
I advise you to practice spvp before crying about wvw.
Are ridiculous. I see about 50% of roamers are stun warriors. One stun on my elementalist and I get downed. Please make stuns condi cleansed or nerf the crit chance on stun warriors have.

Hammer is never an issue against a good player as it is highly choreographed and easily avoidable. Spend some time in spvp instead of zerging.

You can switch to earth attunement while stunned for protection then to water for healing while stunned -this should be Nerfed in eles-

You can use any ability with zero activation time during stuns, I think.
You do realize that mace stun typical build warriors have bad mobility, right? The current suggested builds are not effective in wvw as you can kite them since there is no contested point to fight over.
Just because you don’t use your stun breakers, stabilities, blind, protection, heal which can all be used during stunned doesn’t mean we have to balance the game around your lack of experience.
The game is balanced around spvp and not around baddies in wvw.
Doing so would invalidate the time people spend acquiring that gear. I think the heart of your post is in the right place, but what we would rather do is make possible for people to get the gear by playing WvW with a sprinkling of PvE, rather than the other way around.
The stat difference isn’t big but it adds to the problem. The mainproblem is within the consumables, wvw stat buffs, easy weapon stacking, stacking from NPCs via wvw ranks.
If Asc gear can’t be used in wvw then WvWers don’t bother spending cash to get them and Anet loses money. They know their WvW sucks so they try and keep the WvWers longer in the game by pushing them into lackluster repetitive pve grinds.
At least 300g -optimistic estimate- to get one ascended weapon? Yes please..
Be prepared to have the same boring farm/grind pattern repeated with Asc armor.
If they were serious about game play, they would move the stats/free gear from spvp into wvw while removing silly things that favor bad players and numbers like downed states and AOE caps.

Those weapons are not valid in competitive spvp builds.
Mesmers can have similar mobility with two teleports, wall speed, 2 stealths.
Thieves are known for broken mobility.
Eles can use the teleport, RTL and fiery sword for crazy mobility.
Engys can use 2 leaps, infinite swiftness
Ranger has a 1100 range leap, swiftness,etc.
Nobody cares about WvW weapon usage/builds because balance is even more broken there. They balance the pvp around spvp.

Got camped at our spawn by a zerg 3 times our number.
Any fight is not a fight because you get swarmed by a sea of red spamming number one.

That’s right..add more pve to a ‘pvp’ zone.
I’m amazed at the mentality of people left playing the game after the PvPers left.
A successful 5man needs 2 guardians that abuse the lack of boon duration nerf. Anything less than 2 guardians is just making it kitten your self.
It saddens me to see what TW has been reduced to. It saddens me even more that they celebrate zerging and the lack of skill.

TW regularly runs as a guild only and regularly takes on 2-3x their numbers. You know not of what you speak. Yes Indo tags up around reset… so?
Why would I be mad at watching a good pvp become nothing more than zerglings?
I think you kinda insult our intelligence by saying a group can take 2-3 times their numbers when the opposition is pugs that aren’t even on voice. I suggest you watch some of the organized zerg vs zerg involving TW and see how they lose.
Can they fight similar organized groups double their numbers? Don’t think so.

You do realize they don’t balance things around WvW, right?
Even engys, rangers and mesmers can get away just as fast using multiple stealth and teleports (mesmer).
Stop focusing on one class because you don’t know what the other classes are. It’s one year into the game and we are still seeing these posts..sheesh..

Until they address the reasons behind the terrible imbalances, no matter what stupid system they come up with will fail.
Like this current system I remember Devon Carver saying we will give it a chance for a few weeks. Actually, months.
The result? Guilds quit Wvw. The solution? Don’t address the problems causing this and continue with a slightly different -but essentially the same- match up systems.
You can put low pop servers against high ones in a cage or in a pit or in a desert. The result is the same.
They need to hire someone who knows what he/she is doing before they lose even more people.

Simply put Skullcrack>One Hundred Blades is too strong of a combo. Combined with Unsuspecting Foe, Fast Hands, and F1 Cooldown you can easily pull of this combo every 8 seconds against players. Granted yes there is stability, teleports, evade, ect; but the cooldown and easy access to this combo is why it is too strong. You can easily Pull this combo off faster than the enemies Stunbreaks/Stability re-charges(Except in the case of a very well played Mesmer with Staff or a S/x Thief).
My suggestion to nullify this build without breaking Warriors would be to change One Hundred Blades to the Greatsword’s F1 Ability. This would allow the combo to be pulled of via Adrenaline gain skills, but at a higher cost and on a longer cooldown.
Skullcrack would still be just as strong, players will simply have to learn better damage rotations rather than relying on two skills.Just my two cents on how to fix it. Not going to go into details on what should happen to One Hundred Blades as a F1 or what it should be replaced with, that is A-net’s job.

In every community there is always one..that probably got destroyed by another warrior using that so he assumed it’s the build and not his lack of skill..
Oh boy, don’t know whether to take this seriously or just laugh.
For starters I’ve only ever lost consistently to 1 Mace/Shield warrior ever and that happens to be Defektive. Secondly Sword/Dagger Thieves and Sword/X-Staff Mesmers should be laughing at Mace/Shield warriors, they can directly counter them. But to say that because two classes with two weaponsets can hard counter a build while no one else is balanced is ridicule.
If you truly think I “lack skill” I’ll humbly call you out and ask you to prove you are “more skillful”.

I’m sorry but you not being used to the spec and having your kitten handed out to you by another warrior since you is not a good reason to nerf build.

I hate to say it but I think you are someone who thinks to highly of them selves. I saw you lose more than once to a bad thief in WvW on your feed. I would give you some credit and say it was the same build that you are losing with to mace warriors.
Both you and defektive were corrected by the community on basic warrior skills several times. The only reason people don’t bother pointing that out is because all the experienced warriors left or are playing other classes.
