I played on Mordrid, what a huge waste of resources.

Every FFA server on every mmo I can think of ended up a ghost town.

I don’t think you spent more than a minute in there, at least you would know the name of the server.

It was years ago and yes I played a decent amount. The only fun part was DF.

Sorry but it’s a massive waste of time/resources that nobody really wanted to play after the 1st month. As you know, the server was always near empty.

Here are the facts; Anet doesn’t give a kitten about what some minority like you wants, they are making the game how they want to make it and you can’t do kitten about it. World PvP like what you are wanting isn’t possible without coding an entirely new system which would cost ridiculous amounts of money just for ONE server. They would have to take this server out of WvW completely because of the nature of it. DE would almost always fail because who is going to cooperate if everyone can attack and grief each other, removing all the events for one server would be a huge hassle on Anet because its not as simple as just despawning all the NPCs.

You know what, I’ve decided, you are just a troll. No person who actually put some thought into this would actually think that such a thing would work, or even be financially beneficial let alone be worth the time and effort.

Representing a guild

The multi guild thing isn’t a bad thing, its just if you want your guild members to represent then you are gonna have to lay down the rules. First kindly let them know only the character they join with will default to represent the guild, second set rules on representing, for instance if you want your members to represent all the time when they are on then say so. If you find people not representing sometimes you should obviously allow for a little slack because people can forget and kitten happens. It all depends on how you want things to work in your guild really.

My guild has no rules on representing really it just boils down to anyone with the untested rank who joins and does not contribute will never get a promotion and thus never have access to things such as the guild bank and the ability to use any features aside from guild chat. Having an initiate rank like this is a pretty good method to keep people from just leeching off your guild.

Anet has to make money somehow, would you rather them offer power in the cash shop and let this become pay2win? Besides, you don’t have to spend real money, once you hit 80 its easy enough to make enough money to buy these clothes.

Want special looks from achieving something in crafting? Its called Legendaries.

Defeat something and get some gear for looks? Explorable mode grinding for dungeon currency, seriously with all that grinding having a full set of dungeon gear should be an achievement.

Oh and lets not forget all that level 80 karma gear.

Gold Spammers And RMT's

RMTs are a very hard thing to deal with and Anet doesn’t have near the budget Blizzard has. Before you tell them to fix it I ask you to tell us how you would go about fixing it without ruining certain aspects of the game.

I want to see them gone just as much as the next guy. The best way we can help is by not paying for the services that these RMTs offer, be wary of phishing, and take security measures on our email accounts(change your password often, check the URLs on all emails before you go to them). One of the best ways to get rid of these guys is to make sure they can’t make any money or get hold of accounts. Those that are actually selling gold and not scamming you are getting most of that gold from hacked accounts.

Out of the current races in the game(not playable), there are none that I’d really like to play. The Asuran have my full attention and while I do like some of the other playable races I have no intention of playing anything but Asuran any time soon.

Thank you, really, there are so many things to love about this game and many have already said them.
One of the biggest things for me is your attention to the community and the way your game encourages people to be friendly and help each other out instead of being at each others throats all the time.
Not only that but you actually carry out bans instead of leaving your players to think “why hasn’t this guy been banned for harassment?” Even if its not a permanent ban I think these players will eventually get tired of being banned and learn to follow the rules. If they can’t do that then they can just move on because honestly who wants to play with somebody who treats others around them as inferior.

Story mode is easy, its idiots who can’t learn how to play, ignore instructions and give up after a few wipes that are complaining. You are going to wipe in story mode when first learning it, the devs already said you should expect wipes. If you can’t solo a veteran rank mob then you probably shouldn’t be doing dungeons.

I’ve just given up on storyline completely. At level 40 I hadn’t done any storyline quests since around level 25, and was looking forward to doing a long run of them.

Then I came up against Rakt.

  • As an engineer I rely on turrets to keep my damage in line with other classes. Rakt pretty much one-shots them, leaving me with poor damage output.
  • I have hardly any stun/blind/daze/confuse cooldowns that I could chain to reduce incoming damage, and while I do have plenty of slow and immobilise skills, they don’t stop him from damaging me, as he also has a powerful ranged attack.

There are NPCs (who’ve also managed to get control of the golems in the area), but they just stand there the whole fight doing nothing.

Must have died at least 8 times. I’m not willing to completely regear my character, and reset my traits, just to have a marginally greater chance of completing one step of a storyline quest.

For solo content this is just plain stupid. I’ve soloed dynamic events, that while taking some planning, and a bit of hit and run, were much easier.

I beat the rakt mission 2 levels lower than the recommended level, I am a turret engineer as well. Learn to kite/dodge, he is easy as kitten.

I haven’t completed all the possible storylines but from what I’ve seen in dungeon pugs and people complaining I’d say a lot of these people just need to learn how to play the game and stop standing still. I am level 62 right now and have done all my story quests up to this point, it only started getting challenging at around level 50 and even then I’ve only died about 3 times total in personal story instances.

I really hope they don’t nerf PS difficulty because some people want easy mode instead of learning how to play, the same goes for the dungeons -_-

Don’t pug the first dungeon, too many newbs who can’t listen to instructions and learn the dungeon blaming it on bad balancing. I tried telling a few pugs how to do it but they kept doing the opposite: for instance I kept telling them to push the lovers apart and they kept pushing them closer together -_-

I’m primarily an engy btw and I have no problem doing AC when my groups are actually paying attention and not just thinking they can rush in and dps and it’ll be easy.

Look on all your characters for a HoM stone, it will teleport you to eye of the north where you can go to the very back and find a vendor who you can grab your rewards from. If none of your characters have the stone try making a new one. I’ve also heard that you can buy the stone from a vendor from Lions Arch if anyone would care to confirm that?

This is why I don’t play on those High pop WvW servers. You should hop servers while its free because they will never be able to increase WvW capacity enough to keep up with all the players trying to get into the WvW in those servers. We have reddit, somethingawful, and all those big communities to thank for this since they basically decided on the roles of each server even though its unofficial. Power in numbers as they say.

This should not be begged/demanded, however I don’t believe it is wrong that a big guild doing WvW should ask its members for some money in order to make the WvW leader into a commander rank. This rank is extremely useful in WvW and should not be ignored by a large guild, neither should the guild leader be expected to pay the massive fee all by him/herself.

As for the selling ranks: LOLOLOLOL rly? just lol

And as for the requiring a fee to be in the guild, I don’t believe guild taxation is necessarily a bad thing. It’s more of what type of guild you want to be in and taxes should be very minimal and only done in larger WvW guilds for the sake of funding siege warfare and the like.

Death penalty has nothing to do with that. I don’t know how you lost that health in-between the time you logged off and the time you logged in, but it wasn’t the death penalty.

You can track the death penalty in the bottom left corner of your health bubble I believe. Don’t quote me on that though…

Turrets attacking destructable objects at times can be annoying yes but other than that I don’t see your other points. I’ve never had a problem with controlling the enemy, use offhand pistol AoE slow/immobilize and kite like a boss. I can easily kite 6-7 mobs around my turrets with minimal to no damage, net turret has a special(not overcharge) ability that allows you to net your target then throw down the turret for another net, likewise rocket turret has a knockdown overcharge. Even if they go off on objects you still should have plenty to kite just with the offhand pistol ability and dodge rolling.

As for turret survivability, what do you want? they survive for awhile as it is and when they do blow up that just means I can use their special abilities :/ they aren’t meant to stay up the entire time. This game isn’t supposed to allow you to just easy mode it behind your pets, you gotta keep moving and changing your strategy. If you want more turret survivability spec into metal plating, 30% is a pretty substantial boost.

Some of those traits you could tweak a bit especially on a situation basis. For instance you could swap Adrenal implant for speedy gadgets when you are using rocket boots and battering ram.

Also I forgot to mention Power Suit is an Asuran elite.

Edit: I only use healing elixir underwater, healing turret everywhere else.

Turret builds are support, speccing turrets nets you better healing. I personally spec explosives/inventions with 10 points in the bottom tree whose name avoids me for some reason…

This build gives me decent damage with a good amount of healing. For utility in solo play I use rifle turret, net turret, rocket turret. The net turret and rocket turret provide good control when fighting multiple enemies. You be always moving always kiting preferably in close circles to avoid getting more aggro. Don’t backpeddle, side strafe. Make sure to make use of the rocket turret overcharge.

Now for group play I use a little different setup on utilities, usually its “rifle turret”, Flame Turret, rocket turret as control is not needed as badly in group situations.

All of the above I may change dependent on the situation and sometimes I won’t use turrets at all aside from heal turret. In dungeons often I will have situations where I go rocket boot, and battering ram instead of turrets in those slots.

As for elites, most the time I’m running either elixir X, or supply crate. More often than not I only drop supply crate when I’m using turrets and only when the group isn’t doing too hot. I use elixir X in solo play because of the damage and knockbacks, I haven’t found supply crate to be that useful outside of group play. Elixir X is also useful in certain group play situations where you need to get some control over the enemy mob(s). I sometimes use power suit on certain bosses for the increased survivability and some decent damage.

Further, in a class based system, there should never, ever, be a single class that can handle all other classes equally; there should always be a counter to your class. Such as the whine about guardian, melee only builds should be avoiding guardians, you burn them down using ranged abilities, ele’s are perfect; if he is hunkered down the whole time, he is effectively out of the fight.

Putting aside your personal beliefs on class countering, I have a few words for you on your ranged vs melee argument.
1. Ring around the reflective wall
2. retaliation boon projectiles are no exception
3. Zealot’s Defense
4. Shield of absorption
5. Shelter
6. Sanctuary
7. Renewed Focus

All of the above skills handle projectiles quite well and they can all be used together. If the number alone is not enough I can give you the stats on them as well.

I could care less about seeing peoples real levels, you can see that just by being in a party with them. I would however love to be able to compare achieves with others, one of the main reasons for getting achievements is to compare and show them off. I do not understand why Anet included all these achievements but the only ones you can show off are the ones that give you titles. My achievements feel empty if I can’t share them with others.

What style do you want to play? I have a turret support setup for PVE and I am by no means squishy, while my damage may not be as good as a person who is dps oriented I am perfectly capable of soloing most things in this spec.

There is a bomb spec out there for pvp that has good survivability and lots of AoE condition damage, I have played it myself and I find the damage pretty good especially on groups. I have been able to 2v1 in that spec in some cases and come out the winner(mostly because of bad players who didn’t know how to stay out of AoE).
Flamethrower can be very good as far as damage.

Most the people that complain about their damage are those that can’t find a good build.

Why are 0 people complaining about guardians? it does not compute…
Honestly both me and my brother are not bad pvpers, he is a rogue and I am an engy. Everytime I fight a guardian in pvp all I see is “0” “immune” “0” “immune” “0” “immune”, all of the control abilities that I have as an engy and they NEVER work on guardians, my damage isn’t bad either by any means. When they get out of one shield they pop another one and another, if that wasn’t enough then just look at their heals, instant full heal when at best I have a half health heal. They have an insane buff that gives them around 10 seconds of 10 different boons, they don’t have to sacrifice damage for survivability either. If they are going to be THAT hard to kill at least give them crappy damage, if their damage wasn’t so good I could let all that insane survivability pass and just call it a tactic. Another thing, all the guardians I’ve seen ALL of them think pvp is perfectly balanced or they think they are amazing pvpers. Example: My friend who is a guardian has always sucked in pvp, and doesn’t know how to use dodge roll mechanics but now he is always bragging about how much he owns in pvp as a guardian.

Not enough? Every time we do dungeon pugs and have a guardian the guardian has been able to do tanking that no other class can do, seriously the strategy for the Graveling swarm trap fight has been let the guardian run around kiting all the gravelings while we pull traps, I have yet to see any other class do this. This game isn’t supposed to have tanking but it was laughable that our guardian was able to just stand in front of a boss the entire fight fighting it without rolling out at any point in time even when we wiped and he was left fighting alone he was still fighting it head on when we came back!

Please by all means if people can point out to me how Guardians are not probably the most OP class in the game then by all means go ahead. I would love to know how my engi and his thief can handle guardians because we have tried many many tactics to fight this class. Mind you we were both Arena junkies in WoW and Demon/Dark Souls veterans so dodge rolling and hotkey based pvp is nothing new to us.

Performance on minimum settings is lackluster

I am on the lowest end of the requirements as well. While I know I won’t be able to stick with this computer to play it forever, I believe there are some things that should be added that would not only help to increase performance but also to help in a gameplay sense. What I’m speaking of here is the skill effects animations; As it is in situations where a large group of players using large amounts of skills there is a drastic decrease in performance for us on the lower end of things because of all the AoE and particle effects going off, but not only does this effect performance but it can also effect situations like say a boss fight in dungeons where you have to pay attention to when the boss is doing certain animations and react accordingly. There have been many times where the boss will be charging a one shot skill and there will be so many particle effects going off on him that its literally impossible to see it charging.

That said, being on the lowest end here I am pleasantly surprised at the performance I’m getting from overall playing the game. The only times I have issues is when the concentration of players in one area(not zone just very close proximity to each other) starts to get into the 20 or higher range. Other than boss fights where there is always a huge zergs like the Shatterer or doing WvW with large confrontations I can gladly say that I have had 0 performance issues with a PC that is basically exactly the one described on the minimum requirements.
