I rarely make a forum post, but here are my thoughts – The PvP MMing can not be fixed, nor will it ever be. Why you ask? Because its a dying game (yes it is, like it or not). The latest Expansion won’t save it either. Yes the new elite specs will be nice, but after a month or two, the players that did return, will leave, and we’ll be back in the same boat we are in now.

No matter how good you are, you just can not carry some matches, argue this all you want, but it’s the truth. There is little to none good players left in this game; most won’t return either. Why? Because there is ZERO competition or reason to even try to work on upping mechanical skill or personal performance. Currently the only reason to try and get “gud” is for Ranked and a lame Title that means nothing, and really the only way to get it is if you grind duo queue at 3:00 AM.

Conclusion:

GW2 is Dying, argue all you want, but it is. Compared to even a year ago, so many players have left the game and will NOT be returning. MatchMaking will NEVER get fixed, match quality will NEVER improve. It’s time to move on…

This is a legendary… not some average shield. They need to put some effort into making it not stick out so far.

Just crafted Shooshadoo, very excited. BUT. Why on earth does it float off my back so far? I feel as if there needs to be a patch in the future to pull this closer to the characters back. I dont care if it clips a little, currently it looks soo bad.

@ArenaNet It’d maybe a good idea to have this advertised on the in-game loading screens. That’d be a huge step for getting the word out.

Queues are bugged… Queue pops, I accept, pick map, and then I get an infinite loading screen. If I force close GW2, it’ll just load me back into the map, up until about 4 minutes of closing/loading, then it’ll bring me back to HOTM with no dishonor. Anyone else experiencing this?

100% certain this isn’t my internet, as I have about 100 meg download and 10 upload. Hardware isn’t the problem either, using a GTX 970, 16gb ram, SSD, and 3.7 CPU

@OP this has been a problem since the start of seasons, simple answer is: Population is too small for the MMing to even work.

I’ve seen it in matches, repeatedly. In a number of separate matches, I’ve encountered a player with 25 stacks of bloodlust. this makes them devastating to fight.

Perhaps this is a hack, I don’t honestly know. I have seen it in matches though.

25 stacks isn’t too hard to get if your teams dying all the time. Just follow up with a moa after shield 5 daze w/ condi shatter spam, if its done properly you can secure a kill pretty easily. stacks = gone.

If there isn’t going to be sponsored tournaments anymore, there needs to be automated tournaments.

Started recording my play during season 5 as a form of self coaching. I have bunch of footage from that and thought it’d be fun to put together a little highlight reel. Nothing pro level just fun moments I had/am proud of.

I have no experience editing video, and don’t really know where to start looking. I use a pc and I’m hoping there is something out there that’s basic, possibly easy to use and ideally free.

So for starters, I play this game for competition. I love it. Some of the most fun I’ve had in this game is working on improving my personal and team play. I’ve always enjoyed doing scrims, theory crafting, 1v1s, 2v2s, you name it. I loved being able to hang out with my Team and work on improving together.

As for right now? There is Zero Reason to even practice together or even try to improve your personal play. There is no news of tournaments. No news on whether there will be another ESL tournament. Will monthlies come back? Will there be weekly tournaments with a cash prize pool? I for one would like to know. . .

I just hope there are “Official” tournaments announced soon. The only reason I play GW2 currently is for competitive tournaments.

Streaming PvP

Make it so the bell requires you to commune with it (like temple buffs). That way you can kite and range pressure to prevent cap…

Allow us to view our Personal Statistics under our “Game History” tab. I personally like to compare my kills/decaps/damage out/in etc. to my previous matches.

Capes… They need to happen. I don’t really care if they clip armor, I just think capes need to be added. Heck GW1 managed to do it, but in GW2 we can’t?

Why can’t we earn legendary armor materials in PvP? Right now we have the Champion Brawler title, legendary backpiece, and legendary rank. Thats great and all but I’d like to see us have the ability to work towards meaningful end-game gear as well. The reward track final rewards are pretty bland too.

For example, you get 10 aurillium for completing the Heart of Maguuma reward track but considering it takes hours to complete the track 10 aurillium is nothing. I can easily get over 1000 aurillium in that same amount of time.

There should be legendary weapons and armor tracks where you can earn materials for specific legendary weapons or armor. It doesn’t have to be a lot, it could be something that is equal to the PvE time investment but it should exist.

Why isn’t there any consistency in the rewards between game modes?

Do you seriously want more PvE’rs screwing up games…. look what happened because of the PvP legendary back piece..

I’m tired of constantly encountering disgusting players with obnoxious comments for whatever reason in spvp. Can Anet plz make it so that there is no map chat in pvp matches as well as make the enemy team (and possibly your team) names hidden? So whispering isn’t possible.

Must be more than 15 pip difference, I had div 1 and 2 and 3 in the same match.

If you are in a premade, the matchmaker takes the highest division in your party as a consideration too.

Anyway, but still the point still stands, what is the problem? he won?

I am not talking about the fact that I won. Ignore the score.

Look at the divisions. 3 diamonds, 2 ruby Versus 4 ruby, 1 diamond. They instantly had an advantage that game because they had a duo queue, we did not. My point is, if I solo queue, I shouldn’t be placed against people who are in duo or trio queue, unless I am in a party of 2 or more….

Not sure how else I can say this.

If you know how MMR works then this shouldn’t be an issue.

• MMR operates to pair you against players on a 15 PIP DIFFERENCE, meaning you will get paired with ruby players who are t4-t5 or 1 pip away from diamond EVEN if you are in diamond.

• DIVISION DOES NOT EQUATE TO SKILL your screenshot proves it, you won with a group of ruby people so I do not get the point of your rant.

• IT IS A CLOSE MATCH if you didn’t get the lord, it would be around 500-420. I say Matchmaking is working as intended in this match, so what’s the whining about?

Right, totally balanced to have a team of full pugs (4 ruby, 1 diamond) vs 3 diamonds and 2 rubies (2 diamonds were in a duo queue likely in teamspeak.).

Also, I don’t whine, I don’t come to the forums to whine, I came here to post these screenshots of matches I thought I’d bring to ANets attention.
