Bump, love to know from anet if they are working on some kind of alternative.
Easiest thing would be to make wvw things salvagable but only to return runes/sigils, not to gain ecto’s, because most of the people I know who are suffering from this issue is cos of wvw bought gear.
Personally had I known that this would be an issue in the future I would have got gear from elsewhere which is why I feel a little shafted by this change.
Bump cos is think this is a big flipping problem. Got multiple armor sets in bank with runes that are 7g++ in them practically stuck.
So these things, along with the focus crystal and maint oil versions.
Is anyone using them?
Are they only one use like I assume they are?
I understand the idea behind it, with new content being developed for larger groups, but with the cost of making of these being upwards of 25g each at the moment, its not worth it as it is. As it is, the power one would even out at 100+ people, that’s just too much. These would see much more use if the cost was worked out to be more aimed at guild groups of 20-30.
Just wanted to bring this up as I hadn’t seen it, curious if devs have stats on how much an item is being used.

I didn’t think much off it but now I do, my last two rank ups at 45 and 46 only had like 2 items each.

I would love to see more new armor skins obtained ingame as rewards for completing hard tasks. One of the most frustrating things about GW2 for me is that whenever you guys release something that takes effort, there is hardly anything to show for it. Liadri is a great early example. Now fractals. I won’t deny that I have been seeing many more pink weapons and now a few armors dropping in 49 dailies since patch, but its still so random. Now for some reasons we are getting non infused rings at 49? That just feels like a joke left in.
You guys have released some great armor skins through the gemstore, I love tricksters, the medium aetherblade and brahms set but why can you not release some good items to be obtained from playing only? Sure I could continue to farm gold to pay for the sets but it is no where near as rewarding.
I hope, that when you increase fractal levels again you find a better way to reward to players who are actually looking for a challange.
I also love the idea of allowing stat swaps on ascended items after achieveing something. Maybe buying a item for 500 or so relics from the npc in fotm, then ‘charging’ it at the end of certain tiers, like we did with that asura’s item during the aetherblade attacks. Then, once charged so many times, we can use it on an ascended item and choose a new stat combo for it to gain.
Time Gating
I like this game, I want to play it, but at the moment when I have all the cloth needed for my armors but can’t make them because I need to log on every day its just making me want to do other things after I have done my daily stuff.

There is still lots of misinformation about necro damage even with countless videos out.
I am 30/10/0/0/30 and back up to fotm 50 now, I know I out damage all the idiot warriors and guards who rifle/longbow/staff autoattack on bosses because they are scared to get close with my deathshroud autos and axe.
The AoE burst and control is also much higher than people give credit. Frequently peircing groups of mobs for 7-10k DS hits. People cry saying its hard to line up but it really isn’t just a bit of common sense and you can see that any group which is stacked up for melee cleaves is just as easy to peirce if you move to the side.
Along with that I keep up vun and chill on enemies and able to strip boons frequently which really speeds up certain fights.
Play what you like, people don’t know kitten. A good player will trump a good build any day in fractals.
Its been mentioned but I think one of the biggest disappointments this patch is how rewards were not addressed. Fractals are by far the most challanging 5man content in the game and yet the least rewarding.
I don’t understand why anet would come out and say that they don’t have a problem with the totally mindless zerg farming that happens, like in frostgorge, but then give us dirt for something that actually requires a significant amount of effort.
Why not add some kind of risk/reward system like the queen jubilee arena? Let us activate multiple instabilities for increased rewards, like a large +% MF or extra chests.
It really does suck to feel left in the dark and I don’t understand how many of these issues above mentioned by other posters could not have been raised internally before the patch came out.
I feel like the boss health was just right, if anything it was the easiest part of the dungeon. I feel like the challange was figuring out what to do more than having the patience to sidestep 1 thing for 10minutes as the boss hp slowly drained down.
Wondering if this is a bug or intended? I was under the impression we would be able to choose any stat combo.
Just had this happen on SoS Eternal. Wasn’t even during a big fight, can’t get back ingame now.
I made incinerator a long time ago on necro and I don’t regret it at all, looks great and a dagger fits in fine for most kinds of builds. Also, if you have it mainhand it changes the projectile animation in deathshroud to a mini spinning fire dagger, which is pretty neat.
Good post, agree with some. I think the big thing that is lacking in the recent addition of ‘hard’ content is appropriate rewards. I don’t feel like the people who strive to get the complete the hardest stuff are the same people who care about mini’s.
AP are nice and I assume theres going to be more unique gear added eventually at 10k++ but I would prefer things that directly reflect certain achievement, like a custom finisher or rare weapon skin that is only from that specific boss or challange. I know people will cry because the first skin would be a greatsword most likely, but as long as the unique skins were rotated and all felt they had the same quality and effort put in, unlike the staff skins at the moment which seem to be constantly getting shafted, I think people would stay happy.
Its is simply online gambling.
Still same argument still stands that no one is forcing you to spend your gold on these skins.
This is great and hope brings some more attention to the issue.
Another question, do the personal rewards get better for each teir or are they universal. More chance for better loot like in fractals maybe?
Pretty shocked there was such little info on stuff like this.
This could be a bug, I had thought I was just unlucky but there have been many times in fractals/dungeons where I have not gone down for ages, then I get downed and die instantly. Definitely gonna start checking combat lot after reading this thread.
