I play mallyx/shiro S/S Hammer.
Mallyx is picked for counter the burning meta with high uptime of resistance. I can have also high heal and a safe zone with Anguish (cf youtube)
Shiro : high mobility, break stun etc.

Swords are the main set, cause 3 is 2 sec evade with might stacks an good damages. The block also is really good, but 2&5 feel a little lackluster,because the AA does good damages.
Hammer is really strong. 2&3&kitten hard, and with shiro, we can do quick combos. Also, with riposting shadows, we can add range (and damages) to hammer 2.
Hammer 4 is really good vs rangers and engineer, you can no match them.
They would need to add a new legend in that case.

But the Rev has 4 legends (mallyx, shiro, Ventari and Jalis) with 4 skills for each legend --> 16.
So will we get more skills ?

Hi, all is in the title, revenant needs skills and traits to react to a massive burst of direct damages or condis.
All the other classes have access to them
Warrior : endure pain active, endure pain passive for anti direct damages. For condis he has signet of endurance (full cleanse) and berserker stance.
Guard anti burst : shelter, renewed focus. Anti condi : contemplation of purity (full cleanse)
Engi : elixir s passive elixir s active, elixir C (not very used, full cleanse)
Ele : arcane shield passive, arcane shield active, mist form. And again condi, cleansing fire passive and active.
Thief : maybe the only class the panic buttons similar to the others, but stealth is a mechanic to avoid both condi and direct damages. So we can add shadow refuge, last refuge and shadow step for cleanse.
Mesmer : f4, and stealth. Sword 2.
Ranger : protect me, signet of stone, signet of full condi transfer.
Necro : shroud is a way to absorb damages. For condi it has the heal and the signet of transfer. Plague form can tank heavy condi and burst pressure.

I played Rev 5 hours in WvW to try all specs in all scales of combat.
LIke a lot of people here i’m a pvp player.
General feelings (TL DR)
- low dps, condi or direct damage
- Classy but slow attacks
- Underwhelming movement. No access to speed (except Jalis Road + Mace 3 for perma speed). No jump, dashes or blink (except staff five)
- Uber Strong and Uber Weak Class system : Elite spam/ utility spam can be super strong in roaming/zerg : 10 sec of Great Dwarf (Broken Skill). On the other hand, the fact that ALL SKILLS use energy is weak.
-No versatility : 1 one weapon. 1 legend for 1 use only. U want heal ? Ventari and staff mandatory. If Engies and Ele have no swap, they have way more skills. Weapons needs more versatily (for example the mace for the guard can be Zerk OR Cleric due to high base dmg, and healing). Force you to camp one legend cause it’s the better for you build.
-Lack of active defense : all 8 classes have a ’red button" to ignore damages instantly. The only thing for the rev is the Rite with 2 secs of cast. Rev can be bursted down very easily (i duelled with a Mace/SH // GS and that was cake). Examples : elixir S, shelter, endure pain ,signet of stone, mistform, arcane shield, distortion, blurred frenzy etc…
Legends :
Dwarf : the stongest IMO for zerk and team roaming. Gives great skills like le Rite of great dwarf for 10 secs or the “road”.
Heal : great heal, 3 dispells. Retaliation can combo.
Taunt : very good, but too high cost for the duration of it. Need fastest missile speed.
Road : good in zerg and roam for secure stomps, weakness, and the only way to get speed.
Hammers : have only a dps use but dmg are too low. Needs more effects. Might on hit ? Or 1 sec prot per hit to fill with the tank role
Elite : Super strong as i said. Tooltip is not clear. 66% reduction on test. Spammable.
Ventari. Good for healing, too hard and boring to use.
Heal : change the way to use it. Make it like the ex Guardian’s healing tome 1 (heal on template)
Dispell : good
Bubble : too tiny.
9 : nothing to say
Elite : great.

3 : super classy. Super low damages. Not a lot of utility. Needs to stack vulnerabilty on each it like necros" axe 2.
4 : strong heal and dispell. Very nice.

Hammer : Sloooow. AA needs rework. Needs something to the keep the foes away from you, to maximise dps with hammer 2
AA : slow, low dps. Needs more damage or more speed. I suggest to add a 33% chance of cripple on it.
2 : good dps at maxe range (4K in full zerk). But it’s hard to keep this maximum range. Needs more damage at point blank.
3 : super sloooow. It has to be a real blink to give the rev some movement.
4 : Nice one.
5 : slow but good damages (3k zerker) and nice control. But need an immo to land it.
Mace/axe. : best set for me. If the dmg were higher on 4 and 3, it’ll make a good versatile set.
AA : good for condi build. Long poison duration.
2 : too long cast time, for 2 stacks of burning on stationnary target.
3 : an blast combo. Perma speed with jalis road. Damages are… bad. Tootip needs to explain how to trigger the next two blasts.

I see you only dueling non buffed mesmers, thiefs, and rangers.
Not impressive.
The footage was made in 3 days during a single match up, so all i can show is what i encountered. And the roaming meta is now pewpew ranger/ thieves/ bad shatter mesmers. U can check some previous videos with war and medi guards
And i fight some classes without stacks or 25%HP (like de condi thief :p )

@nagymbear : the last one is not the better of the world (that’s why he’s at the end of the video). I think he was zerg-shaped. For the protection i don’t know. The thing is that a zerker warrior has telegraphed attacks, and can be dodged (like first fight). But here we talk about a top tiers build (zerker warrior) versus a low tiers/mid tiers (close-combat ranger). The warrior with rush hits harder than a maul, have a better armor and HP regen :p

Get nature voice yes, but sacrifice what ? Maybe the 10 in skirmishing, but it’s 10% crit dmg, and that’s huge… Very hard to steal those 10 pts…
For the eagle, it gives me speed in combat, which is useful (cause i don’t have hunt Signet…), its f2 is short cd (whereas the jaguar invisibility is long cd, so i’ve to take f2 reduction). Also, the eagle has speed, so i don’t need the 30% mvt speed for pets.

Ok your build is much more tanky than mine, but you have not dispell at all, and a very low crit chance and crit damage. Good for tanking, holding points, but, IMO, but not to quickly kill someone, stomp and move.

So gear
-armor is berserker. We need damages. Runes are scholar, for crit damages and good bonus of damages at the beginning of a fight. Synergizes well with 25 in wilderness (same bonus so 20%)
-Trinkets are berserker too.
-Weapons. GS is the defensive set so knight stats. Intelligence sigil for the super Maul attack
-Sword/dagger : all berzerker. Energy sigil for extra dodge (and te have the dode of 2,3,4 weapon skills)
Traits.
Because we are full berzerker we are pretty glassy, so we need 30 in WS to have a good response again conditions. We got cd reduction for all of our weapons…
20 in nature magic. Very importantt the V gives a large amount of dmg. The other trait grants fury on GS. And we have a GS :p
I took 10 in Beasts for the shouts, a personnal choice, protect me is good, and attack is usefull…. Others can put the 10 pts somewhere else…
10 in skirmishing, for extra damages on pets…
Skill bar.
-Troll : best heal ever :p
-Shouts, already explained. Some ppl will prefer lighting reflexes, the mud…
-Signet : give a large amount of thoughness, with this, we are not glassy…
Pets : bear : dispel, big HP pool. It will take all my conditions.
Eagle : good dps. Jaguar is fine too.
Gamelay.
GS : 3 (gap closer) 5 2 . 4 for counter and then swap to AA the opponant with sword, and poison him when healing. Then wait and restart the rotation.
PRO:
-Dodges, blocks
-High DPS
-High Mobility
-Condi cure
CONS
-2600 armor
-Condi bombs.
