Remove fractal toughness scaling

Is that hard just to give some mobs/bosses much more toughness and thats it, for the variety? Does all this general downgrade to direct dmg really have to happen?

10 minutes fractals feel epic as a flash game

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

kluster.1308

Yes, they feel epic as much as playing a flash game on your phone.
Is this a mmoRPG or a fps? You never really cared about actual roleplaying features, as everything is so easy, fast and casual, but what’s the point in reducing the number of fractals needed to finish them? If people don’t have time, then they should play PvP or world events. Dungeons in mmorpgs aren’t meant for ignorant fast-paced farming, they should give good challenge and feel satisfying.

What’s satisfying in doing something in 10 minutes? It doesn’t even encourage social and tactical gameplay: if you find yourself stuck, you better just leave the party and search for a better one. This encourages you to play JUST for the rewards and not for the fun.

What even is anti-social, is that it’s faster to search for a party in the automatic lfg finder rather than adding someone in your guild to your friend and then invite them, as, in fact, after all these years, YOU STILL CAN’T right-click invite anyone on your chat before adding them to friend list!

That is what has always been for dungeons in gw2, that was already ignorant, and now that you made lvl80 dungeons pointless (wich would have been cool, if leveling in this game was A LOT harder, to make dungeons useful for 1-79 players) you dumbed down fractals too, that were the only way to actually feel epic for your efforts (as, in fact, world bosses doesn’t feel epic at all, as you feel like there’s no really need for YOU, as you’re part of a big mass of zergling smashing-buttons brainless player-machines).

Those fun and satisfaction feelings may have shifted to raids, but I’ll never find out, since this expansion gave me no reason to buy it except for, as always, the very good job in graphics.

That’s it, gw2 is just good graphics. But with too much casual gameplay, the lore feels like a nice photograph, not a world to live in.

Easier fixes for bigger deals, in my opinion

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

While I really appreciate the goals of the upcoming changes with the expansion, there are some changes that bother me because I think there are easier and more interesting ways to fix actual problems.

Liquid economy deal:

Instead of all that money reducing for dungeons, why don’t you simply increase at about 20x (2000%) the price for teleporting with waypoints? This way we’ll have:
- More consistent world, cause teleporting around too easily makes you feel like in matrix and you dont really enjoy the lore. You should at least THINK about running instead of just porting imho
- More useful teleport price reduction bonus for guilds
- More money sinking
- Asuran portals usage (finally)

Materials deal:

Instead of reducing crafting materials obtained via salvaging, wich is very useful for new players, why don’t we have less armor/weapons rewards from every things/events we do? This way we’ll have:
- Less stupid useless things to salvage in our inventories, aka less boring clicking and less materials income from high level farming players
- More constintent lore, as giving away bad armor that easily is very lore-killing

Balance and meta deal:

Instead of druid as new and preferred class for healing, instead of other ways to kill metazerk, why don’t we have:
- Healing power stat effectiveness increased by 200%
- Bosses HP doubled.
- You can’t evade aoe attacks.

There you go! Healers suddenly spawn everywere! No more metaberz, yay!

This is my opinion, of course I may be making it up too easy, but I really think that most of these changes I said would be awesome to see ingame.

Please don't over nerf burning.

This is very easy to fix in my opinion:

Conditions that previously used to stack in duration rather than in intensity, should now stack in intesity 1 stack per single player/npc source, while your single personal stack of burning can stack in duration.

Maybe this is hard to program, I’m not a programmer, but logic says its clear as the sky that it should work this way. I even thought it would have worked this way before the patch, I can’t understand how they could have not predicted this mess before the release!

A more consistent and dynamic world.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

kluster.1308

Despite the living world events and the dynamic events all around Tyria, I really don’t feel like I’m immersed in a dynamic and ever-changing fantasy world.

My feelings, when I log in, are more something like I’m actually playing in a fake still world, while teleporting around freely as if i were in the Matrix.

1 – I suggest to make waypoint teleports only available when standing nearby another waypoint and to reduce the number of waypoints overall. Now there is a waypoint every 30 steps: this is just silly.

2 – I suggest to introduce weather dynamic changes, like rain, fog, storms. Something big that really should harden the gameplay experience while fighting out there.

3 – I suggest to introduce much much darker nights. I don’t even notice the difference between night and day now.

Every suggestion has the purpose of making the world feel more consistent, realistic and dynamic.

Tequatl Rising - finally a worthy challenge!

in Tequatl Rising

kluster.1308

I completely agree with the OP, FINALLY A WORTHY CHALLENGE!

I was thinking to change to another mmorpg soon, not because gw2 is bad, it has improved so many usual mmorpgs mechanics, but because (so far) it has been WAY TOO EASY!

Now ascended weapons system, super adventure box AND ESPECIALLY tequatl, brought some good challenge to the game. People finally NEED to mass coordinate, it’s not an option anymore, just to save time. YOU FINALLY NEED to be skilled or you won’t win anything. As it should always be.

Continue this way and I won’t think about quitting gw2 anymore, also I now bought my first gems with real money just to give my first (symbolical) encouragement to you developers to continue developing new HARD content.

loss of sound

kluster.1308

The tip didn’t solve my problem, it still takes forever to load sound effects and music and they always happen too late, unless I’m alone against few enemies, maybe in instanced stories (where nothing really big happens).

During group event bosses, the dragon’s shouts appear after 20 or more seconds or never appear.

Sound effects and music loading times

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: kluster.1308

kluster.1308

Sound effects and music loading times are extremely slow, especially when i’m struck in big mobs of people, WvW and group events. I really don’t know what to do since it’s a very strange problem and i’ve never had a similar problem in any other game i played.

For example, i went for behemot this morning, after teleporting to it i started hearing my attacks sound effects after 20 seconds, after 1 minute the music appeared, after other 2 minutes i slowly started hearing other players’ attacks and when the boss was 20% hp i heard the sound effect that he does when he first appear, with a delay of several minutes.

This always happen anyway, after teleporting to a zone, sound effects slowly activates during a 30-60 seconds range of time.

What can i do to solve this?

My connection is good, i never have lag issues.
My processor is a dual core 3.9 ghz
I play with standard high graphic options, and if i reduce them to lowest the audio problem isn’t solved, it just helps to load sounds a bit faster but still after some seconds.

HARDER Guild Wars 2

I see people doesn’t really understand me. I complained that everyone can make exotic things, but in the suggestions I NEVER said to make it only for hardcore, i just said to make cof p1 a bit longer and harder, as the other exp paths! Still quite easy, don’t you think?

Second, I said I HATE FARMING, I left WoW and other similar mmorpgs just for the time spent in doing totally useless things. Here i said just to make you walk near a waypoint to make you able to teleport anywhere, how much time will it take? 1 more minute of your precious time?

This is just to make you feel at least part of the world, and not like if you’re in matrix.

If WoW is hard 10/10, GW2 is hard 2, i’m just saying “make it hard 3”

About portals in LA, you’re right, I forgot to say “put WvW/mist portals also in the other big racial cities, as the mystic forge”, now i’ll edit it

Good mechanics ideas, I see you put a lot of thoughts into this, especially the change of dances stances.
I’m honestly not sure anyway with the appealing to the lore of GW2 fantasy style. It seems rather oriental and too much “flowers/fairies/manga kitten amp;skirts” style. Mesmers are already a bit “offtopic”, this one would be similar as putting a jedi into skyrim.

Commander Manual, why not buy with Badges?

Totally agree. Golds doesn’t have anything to do with the ability in leading armies, it is just wrong the idea that you can BUY the commander rank.

It should be paid in badges or better in WvW Exp points.

HARDER Guild Wars 2

in Suggestions

kluster.1308

I feel like, and I’m not the only one, I’m not appropriately rewarded for my efforts in GW2. That’s why many people is already getting bored of it (I mean, GW2 was SO SO waited and longed for, and people is already getting bored of it after few months of release. That’s quite a record for a new MMORPG).

I always hated farming, I always hated killing the same enemies over and over to get to max level, I always hated running thousand times a dungeon just to get a small chance to drop what I wanted.

When I read GW2 features before beta, my eyes shone so much, even reading about WvWvW. Now that I play it, I must say that the key ideas went WAY WAY too far! GW2 is really too easy:

- You don’t have to walk anywere, you can teleport in any moment, asura portals don’t have any purpose
- When you die the only problem is with the small amount of silver required to repair your armor
- Dungeons don’t require any kind of particular ability to finish. If you are a noob party, you take 4 times the time to finish it, but YOU STILL FINISH IT.
- Farming some kind of dungeons is way too fast: citadel of flame is truly a joke, it’s easier to get an exotic armor rather than a rare armor!
- WvWvW doesn’t make you feel a hero, it just makes you feel part of a amorphous mob that randomly press skills around waiting for a side to win over the other side.
- WvWvW and guild buffs (% exp, karma etc.) are also a joke, since the game is SO EASY that you don’t really need any of those buffs, so you don’t feel the need to partecipate in it.

I remember, before leaurels, i was very careful NOT to get any daily achiement every day, cause they gave me SO MUCH EXP that made me feel: “Oh no, i made another level up without even finishing my zone, this way I will reach 80 in 2 weeks”.

I appreciate the idea to make everyone able to play it and to get the final equipment, even casual player. But I AM a casual player, I barely play 1 hour a day, and I already have 2 players full exotic lv80 and I’m making a third one, usually incredible in any other kind of mmorpg.

MY SUGGESTIONS ARE:
- You must be near a waypoint to teleport around, you can’t just open your map and teleport wherever you are as if you were in matrix. It makes you loose all the “being part of the world” feeling.
- Old school resurrection sickness when you die or something similar to make you actually say a small “oh no!” when you die. I sometimes die on purpose because it’s faster to die and teleport back rather and loose aggro and teleport after: this is ridiculous.
- No exp gain from achievements.
- Longer&harder citadel of flame path 1 and the other short exp paths.
- You must use asura portals to get to WvWvW and sPvP zone. Remove the teleports from interface. I usually prefer going to WvWvW for free just to repair/sell/mystic forge/trading post rather than going back to a city. This also makes gems utilities useless.
- Put a mystic forge and WvWvW/sPvP portals in every big city, so the racial cities have finally some purpose at lv80
