After trying (and failing) this event for a week with pug-organised maps, I am observing improvement in attempts to kill the Chak Regents on all four lanes. The main flaw again is that it’s located in an open map, where people also want to explore, do adventures and heropoint. This leads to a significant amount of people not contributing to Chak, slimming down chances of succeeding. Another is the lack of rewarding to this event; players build up expertise fail after fail, until they finally become skilled enough succeed … and then never have to do the event again. This shifts average playerbase doing the Meta to less experienced players. third is the timer and player activity times. Skimming lfg every half hour before Chak spawns, I’ve noticed organised runs only occur 3 or 4 times a day in the late afternoon/early evening. If for some reason I can’t be online at exactly these times, I lose a day of progress. Lastly: Progress! On all new Legendaries and some of the other new collections, a Chak-related item is necessary to progress. The Chak Gerent has therefor become just another barrier in progressing and merely another “annoying content I’ll have to grind through once”.
The best option I can imagine for this, is a scaling reward at the end instead of a “all-or-nothing” chest, giving a chance of – and certainty of the collectible on respectively 1-3 or 4 killed Chak. That or allow commander to kick all players not participating of the map (/s).
Sorry if this feels like a rant aswell, but have been struggling against Anet trying to turn me into an Elitist. ^^
Miraculously I’d managed it after only 10ish restarts on my first playthrough (3-4h), but now on my second character it seems impossible. Been trying alone, with parties, but there’s always going to be that one bug or getting unlucky during the flight phase forcing you to restart. Third evening I’ve spend 4 hours to try to finish it only to end up going frustrated to bed. Anyways, sorry for the saltiness, using this to ventilate.
(Still think they should add checkpoints after each phase, like with every other boss.)
I’m not the type to complain often, but shouldn’t this story misson have checkpoints? Spent over an hour restarting and restarting the last fight, either because of a bug that blocks progress (tears spawning midair) or because I get hit by a bouldert midair and instantly die from falling damage. The mission’s not that hard, but recquires pure luck and a lot of time to get to the end of it. Surely checkpoints couldn’t make the fight exploitable in any way and make this story step less of a chore to run through after 5-6 retries. Open for tips on how to get through the fight.
I feel like it would be a shame to leave that 85 uncontested…
(Thanks ^^)
Januari 2013, when server changing became paying. Having to choose to either remain om Stormbluff Isle (NA) with my Guild Wars 1 guild of 5 years, or move to Far Shiverpeaks (EU) to be able to play with IRL friends…
On the first use it will be changed from a container to an item, which means it will be opened to the first free spot of your inventory.
Edit: In this case mtpelion’s suggestion should work.

Counters to turret engineer:
- any build that applies more than 2 conditions per 15 seconds
- any build that apply cc’s or fear
- zerging strategy
- engaging off point
- abandoning one point, which means 5 vs 4 on the other 2
- Completing additional objectives (orb, chieftain, ferocity, …)
But yes, it’ll require communication with your team. If you try to to duel a engineer on point, you’re going to have a bad time.
Number 1!

Thanks!
“To catch a thief, one must become a thief.”
For class balancing reasons, all other professions are removed and all existing characters are converted to thieves.
Mysterious Voice: You must promise to protect it with your life. Will you?
Marjory Delaqua: What…was…that?
Kasmeer Meade: It couldn’t be…
Marjory Delaqua: We need to speak with Ogden immediately. Let’s find a way out of here. .
Considering it seems Kasmeer recognises the voice, I’d think it might be one of Destiny’s Edge’s members. Though unlikely, why not even Logan trying to repair the damage of his choice?
In addition to Garambola:
- Save up laurels from dailies and monthlies for T6 material bags.
- After exploring WvW BL and EB, switch to a EotM karma train for WvW levels, skillpoints, gold, BoH and karma.
- Always start with the mystic clovers! You’ll get lodestones and T6 mats from them, and any obsidian you don’t use will contribute towards the gift of mastery.
- This was my personal method to reach the mats (in addition to generally playing the game)
1M karma (Exploration, EotM)
Full stacks of T6 mats (Laurels, Champ bags, Buying from Tp)
2 stacks of ectoes (Salvaging rares from drops or world bosses)
400 skillpoints (Champ bags, dungeons)
500 BoH (EotM)
Maximum of gold possible, 1 to 2K gold (All of the above ^^)
Other materials are depending on the Legendary you want to make, but are usually obtained trough the Tp or through farming a specific area/mob type.
In general I suggest to just play the game, slowly filling up these materials while trying different aspects of the game. Don’t play only with the prospects of reaching a legendary.
Good luck with your legenday and don’t forget enjoy the game! ^^
Thank a lot! I did switch out the coat for Priory and shoulders for Stalwart due to budgetary reasons, but it turns out great too!
Been following and enjoying your work for a while now, and I’d like to ask you for help.
- Human male Ranger (Medium armor) -
Request: “Wind Master” -esque outfit
- For use with the Tempest Longbow
- Preferably with use of the Zephyrite Wind Helm and Catcher back item.
Thank you!
I appreciate your concern with the build of your fellow guardians, but unfortunately it seems in most of my experiences in PvE, I do not need to block that 1.5K attack, as I had already an aegis, 3 blinds readied, a few more blocks and 2 dodges. And it’s always handy to see those 40s of cripple fade away without having to activate a skill. Anyway: congratulations on your Dragon rank, and please: do not become one of those elitists. Many thanks, Lerak
Not really an answer, but you can always start with one, and change whenever you’re tired of those colors. Personally I’m more fan of the light/gold look.
10 Current unused weapons and skills should be revamped
9 More skills and weapons to each class.
8 Replay possibility for PS and LS, even without achievements/rewards
7 More zones: Maguuma, Crystal Desert, Blood Legion Lands, Far Shiverpeaks, Janthir, …
6 Information about Cantha and Elona
5 Continuation of the Personal Story, eg. Undead Mentors, Second Pale Tree, Cleansing of Orr, Zhaitans bloccade to Cantha being lifted, …
4 More non-BLTC skins achievable trough regular gameplay.
3 Alternatives to RNG based rewards. (= Precursor Hunt)
2 Customizable Guild Halls (and Alliances)
1 Reintegration of GW1 lore in GW2! eg. the Scepter of Orr, REAL Bloodstones (the Altars, not the dust), REAL Ascension, REAL Infusion, …
Ellyss Twinheart (rather generic mesmer look: masquerade + mask of the night)
What dyes are you using?
Dyes are a mix of Sapphire, Abyss and Cinders.
Lerak Ironheart, Engineer in the Iron Legion.
Drover’s Helm (Great to remain incognito in battle, and when passing out drunk at the latest meatoberfest…)
Mist Walker Shoulders (What better way to scare your opponent than a skull on you shoulder?)
Forgeman Jacket (Good for intercepting shrapnel!)
Molten Gauntlets (Because how else would you remember LS1?)
No pantaloons (It’s hot enough in those mines!)
Sneakthief Sandals (So dredges can’t see nor hear you coming!)
(Abyss, Iron and Cinders Dyes)

Annan Willowheart
(mix of Sylvari tier1, TA armor and mesmer starting mask)
Trying to achieve an unique Sylvari themed armor, while including the mesmer starter masks, which I think are underused :p !)

Only having one guard is for casuals.
I agree!
Erika Wolfheart (mix of Norn t2, t3 and Kodan)

Order armor and weapons sets are only accessible to the members of that order. The OoW armor requisitioner is in a room accessible from a portal left from the main hall, this room also is only accessible for order members. In short, you will need a OoW character to unlock the skin, and then transmute it from the wardrobe to your Asura’s headpiece.
Elementalists are kinda weird in that I don’t think you can tie them to a specific god.
Different attunements represented different Gods: Fire magic for Balthazar, Air magic for Dwayna, Water magic for Grenth, Earth magic for Melandru, and Arcane magic for Lyssa.
Thief definitely isn’t “pro human”, but its not a specific charr profession for sure.
I’m sorry, I didn’t mean thieves are specific for charrs, only that in lore the Ash legion is known for its warbands of assassins, stalkers and spies. In that way assassins aren’t pro human, as the Ash legion was founded by the son of the First Khan-Ur, close to the arrival of the first humans on Tyria.

You can check Scarlet’s Lair to see if the keys still work, but I think the chests are gone.
I accidently entered the lair on sunday and the chests were still there, but I don’t know for sure if we can still effectively open them.
Tatiana still searches for other Kurzicks hidden within Krytan society.
Name: Danika Lutgardis
Age: 22y
Affiliation: Lionguard
Race: Kurzick
Profession: Elementalist
Danika was born and raised in Divinity’s Reach to Kurzick immigrants, originating from Echovald Forest. After losing her family and home in the Canthan District during the collaps, Danika left Divinity’s Reach . She arrived in Lion’s Arch at age 15, where she was recruited in the Lionguard. Alongside them, Danika spent 7 years clearing risen forces on the ancient trading routes in order to reestablish contact with Cantha, which to this day they haven’t succeeded in.
Danika is a member of the Lionguard navy. Her knowledge and expertise in sailing the Sea of Sorrows have made her an asset in the assault of Orr. Her current occupation is assisting the Pact in controlling the bays of Orr and transporting recources and troops from Fort Trinity to the forward camps and to Arah itself.
As is custom in House Lutgardis, Danika is a strong follower of Melandru, goddess of earth and nature.
Guardian and Mesmer. I personally feel Guardians are inherent to Dwayna and Mesmers to Lyssa.
Thieves represent the Ash Legion, so I wouln’t consider it inherently human.
1) Pet DPS is less important in pvp, but the pet skill (f2) can be really helpful.
2) In pve monsters tend to target your pet, though in pvp (and wvw) players directly target you, thus rendering your tank useless.
3) I believe warriors have a trait to go from 1000 to 1200 range and a +10% dmg trait.
4) + 5) Depending on your build and expertise, both professions can be extremely potent and destructive to enemies. (Though usually warriors are traited for melee.)
The Dredge storyline follows the Russian revolution early 20th century. In guild wars 1, the dredge were an enslaved race, mining ore for the Stone Summit dwarves. After the dwarf “exodus”, the dredge claimed indepence, and formed a socialist community. But like the USSR, some dredge take power. In guild wars 2 the dredge formed a dictatorship, in which some factions realize their enslavement, and ask the players help to fight the oppressing generals to reclaim freedom once again.
Drago Vincentius: 9/10 Love the latin, titan-y sound to it :p Especially great for a mesmer!
Zamira Trueblade: 8/10 Sounds very anime-like?

For more healing power, switching out the 6 orbs for 3 superior rune of the monk and 3 of water gives about 30 more healing power, and +30% boon duration, which improves regeneration effect. (At the cost of 90 power and 90 toughness)
Closest I could get (heavy armor)
- AC helmet
- Heavy plated pauldrons (though too bulky imo)
- HoW chest
- Heritage gauntlets
- CM leggings
- CM boots (CM come closest, as there are no cloth options for heavies)
Guardian
0) Tome of the Tactician -1s activation – 120s recharge – 20s duration
1) Symbol of Faith (Same as Mace)
2) Symbol of Protection (Same as Hammer)
3) Symbol of Wrath (Same as Greatsword)
4) Symbol of Swiftness (Same as Staff)
5) Line of Warding (Same as Staff)
For the duration of the skill, all symbols recharge instantly and are ground targeted. (Lost on downed)
Human race specific
0) Blessing of <Chosen Patron God> 1s activation – 120s recharge
Dwayna: Nearby allies gain 20s regeneration
Grenth: Nearby foes (r600) gain 5s chill and 5 stacks of vulnerability for 15s.
Melandru: Nearby allies gain 5s of vigor and immobilizes ( r1200) foes for 1s.
Kormir: Clean nearby allies of 2 conditions and blinds (r600) nearby foes for 5s.
Balthazar: Nearby allies gain 5s of fury and 5 stacks of might for 15s.
Lyssa: Nearby foes (r600) are stunned for 2s.
Universal Elite
0) “Bring it down!” – 90s recharge
Shout – Target creature loses all stacks of defiant.
Universal Elite
0) Call of the <Faction> 3s activation – 180s recharge
Vigil: Summon 2 Vigil Crusaders for 30s.
Priory: Summon 2 Whisper’s Agents for 30s.
Order: Summon 2 Priory Explorers for 30s.
Almost sure that’s one of the new ascended staffs.
As a Guardian, I’d like to see dual wielding shields!
Suggestion: lvl 30+ characters receive a permanent 10/20/+…% experience boost for each character on the same account having reached lvl 80, the ‘been there, done that’ achievement and has finished the main storyline.
→ Offers players that already completed the game once an opportunity to create alts without the same repetitive grinding to level, but still gives them time to learn the basics of the class (lvl1-30).
-Only an idea-
Well, in lore there is the Lion’s Arch Arena, where Magnus the Bloody Handed hosts “PvP” and “PvE” combats.
Grand Theft Golem: Rata Sum
Weapons I’d like to see:
Crossbow (2h, 1200 range) : like Asmodal proposes
Halberd (2h, 400 range) : attacks based on interrupting and pushing back enemies
Javelin (mh, 900 range) : projectile-based weapon, supportive skills
Icon (oh, 600 range) : Depicting in game “deities”(Human pantheon, titans, mursaat, …), acting like Beatrice’s cross in Dante’s Inferno
Scroll (oh, no range) : Gives access to 2 chants/shouts skills
