No one said the drop rate is 100%. Its just easier and more enjoyable/rewarding for some people to gather their own mats for crafting. I was just stating it would be nice to have the option, but you’re right. People who used exploits have their legendary already and control the trading post. Now their “end game” is making gold.

Edit to add. Just because you COULD farm those items yourself, didn’t mean the prices dropped, it meant you could sell them at a high rate, or save them for crafting. MOst people would rather buy them off the AH at ridiculous prices than farm them. Its about having the option!

Thank you for the info, that looks a little above my skill level that’s why I took it to a local shop before. I am very comfortable taking apart desktops they were easy for me, but this looks easy to mess up.

My computer has been completely powering down very sporadically since culling was removed. After some tips from guildies i checked and the numbers are in….

Gw2 avg cpu usage 35%….cpu temps shoot up to 77 degrees Celsius maxed at 82 within 5 mins of being logged on. (shuts down at 100) my computer is programmed from the factory to auto overclock.

Asus g73 jh, professionally cleaned in the last 6 months.

Any help appreciated.

Players are still getting their legendaries?? HAHA Losers. JK I gave up a long time ago, sold all mats and got my Norn Guardian t3. Yes as sad as it is, Alts have become my personal endgame

Yes I remember when Orr was bustling, then farming was “nerfed” No more pent/shelt. No more Plinx…it all went down hill from there. I am on my 3rd 80 trying to complete the area. It is more void now than ever.

Orr has a very epic feel to it, lots of minions and monsters that need to be defeated and those poor Temples that are left abandoned…unfortunately it is almost unbearable to try to walk the dangers of Orr alone, let alone try to complete an event by yourself (or a hanful if you’re lucky, then still fail)….and don’t even think about opening Grenth, or Balthazaar, or pretty much any other temple. I usually have to guest to another server (sometimes looking for days) to get to a certain temple.

Suggestion: Add a 200% mf buff upon zoning into Orr. I think that would bring more players to the area.

I am really tired of gathering porous bones. I think the drops in Queensdale are more rewarding and take less effort.

Edit: To make up for a lack of players, give a buff like in WvW that increases your stats when not many players are in the zone. Maybe a handful of players would actually be able to complete the larger events.

Thanks OP and many others for putting into words exactly how I feel. While I do believe the Malchor’s wall bug was an exploit and deserved to be fixed, I don’t think there is anything wrong with a player grinding on mobs for material drops. Honestly, I like a mindless grind every once in a while…it’s quite relaxing.

Plus the TP prices have skyrocketed out of control… I remember when pre cursors were between 20-100g. So to all of you saying “just take your time and play, don’t try making one now” That means in a year precursors will be 10k and t6 mats will be 20g each

My husband and I are lost too…We’ve found a memento or two…is there anything beyond that?? We’ve rebuilt the signs, helped refugees… I always feel lost every event though.

Ok 2 things.

1. I could not preview my glow while using the make over kit. (I played with the character creator for a long time, so I knew exactly what I wanted anyways and just made sure the slider was at max).

2. After the kit I did not notice any glow, relogged and there it was. I have also noticed that it doesn’t seem to glow on my home server while in LA, but It will glow on overflow servers (Not sure if there’s a time difference, or why).

Undercover Dwarves- [Dorf]-Very small guild of friends and family. Looking for a few more people to run dungeons/ do puzzles, etc. with. Jobs/kids etc. So we play mostly Est/Cst time zones, evenings and most weekends. Lost quite a few active players, so looking to have a solid group for dungeons.

We haven’t began to dig into fractals too much, but would like to play with people who want to take their time and play the dungeon, not “speed through.” Also people who don’t mind being in mumble for runs. Coordination is key. We have alts etc. to join in too.

You don’t have to represent, just looking for like minded & laid back people.

Never completed this before until today. The Chest at the end was already opened for both myself and a guild mate.

Well whomever is running the cash shop is making it feel cheap and dirty (probably a reflection of their personal character). Like many other posters have pointed out about the chests, mini pets etc… I was one of those that couldn’t wait to buy the silly things, but until they stop “sleazing” it out like a cheap hooker…no thanks.

IE:
I would definitely but up tons of dye packs for my whole account, but PER character feels cheap…It’s like “Hey I know what you are trying to do there..and no thanks, don’t treat me like an idiot.”

Same with bag slots too.

Kinda funny, as soon as my husband and I completed that puzzle and got the “Under New Management” achievement we both looked at each other with a “hmmmm, That’s how we’re feeling about this game!”

It really feels like someone in the higher ups just said "OMG Make something quick, make a wow clone!, give them gear grind! Hurry, and give them lots of good drops after the final event so they will say “oooooh Shinies!!”

I have yet to do a fractals, I…just really want to pretend it doesn’t exist, but the constant spam is very annoying. Plus I need to do it if I want to finish my monthly =/

The game is RUINED but not for the same reasons you stated.
The game is ruined because of the mentality the GW2 playerbase has turned into.

No i didn’t get a precursor, and I don’t care really, it made the items’ prices fall drastically.

I am more upset that I spent 2.5 hours doing an event that I HATED and in the end myself and other players said “Oh cool we got awesome rewards, so doing that God awful event was worth it!” (The event in and of itself was fine, it just took too long. Maybe an hour tops would have been fine).

THEN it slapped me in the face…I just had my FIRST WoW experience in GW2. I never enjoyed raiding week after week, but then that loot item finally dropped and magically made the whole thing seem worth it.

I was just bragging to my friends (who are hardcore WoW’ers and who also played the free trial this weekend and were extremely surprised at how much they enjoyed it) about Map chat and how I rarely if ever see any name calling and all the stuff you put up with in WoW. They were in disbelief at how well the community gets along. I think now that is broken.

TLDR
We went from a community who expected entertaining gameplay to being pacified by loot. We now see things like “that player was a noob”, “We need gear score and inspect options” and how players already feel like they are being left behind. Those things belong in another games forum, not ours.

I have been getting zero reward on quite a few events that I have participated in. I have only got a couple gold rewards since the new patch. Mostly none, bronze or silver.

I love the puzzles, I just got started and wasn’t doing too well, got up to take a break for a bit. Came back in the room to find my 11 year old almost finished with it. Yes, I got owned by my kid and apparently a lot of other people did too

The whole reason we play Gw2 over WoW is so we don’t have to grind for gear stats. Happy here. I think the people complaining about loot didn’t see the chest at the end.. The only reason I got it was because I was in mumble with my guildies and one person saw it and told us not to zone yet

Again there’s a lot of feedback and misunderstanding going on. I posted a response on the first page (if you bothered reading through the thread instead of jumping to insults).

Yes, my main complaint is having things to do with friends. Not necessarily because I want “easy gear” (really people??)

I for one have already stopped running TA after about 600 tokens. Which I bought the GS and was going to buy the staff(1 run away,) but meh its just for looks anyways right?

You are right, I don’t HAVE to have it, its for looks…

But please tell me via dungeons what is there to do PVE side for guilds and friends that doesn’t involve grinding one dungeon indefinitely until player A finishes their set.

This is more about finding something cooperative and universally beneficial for the entire party.

And to the above poster saying it takes 8 days to get your set and running 3 paths only takes an hour?(thats 20 mins per path, undoable without exploiting) You my friend must be one of the exploiters, doing the “speed clears” because even with great groups clearing 1 path usually takes anywhere from about 50mins +.

After reading through the feedback here is my suggestion.

I really would like to see some sort of random daily dungeon or something of the sort (maybe a daily dungeon chest) that myself and a few friends can enjoy together.

Something to get people in random dungeons and a breath of fresh air away from your token instance.

The Following Example

“Dougal Keane the great explorer has mentioned there was a secret artifact hidden somewhere in Honor of The Waves, bring this artifact to him and you shall be rewarded.” (Hint about a path to choose). *Also I just chose Dougal because he’s the man, who else would know about where to find what and how to get it!?

Random Reward: Random Chest, silver, black lion keys, dyes. Etc. (I’d like to keep the rewards away from tokens or gear, see first thread)

And before we get too crazy about having to add “secrets in dungeons” It can just be a drop off the last boss.

I truly believe with something like this it will help with the PVE side of the game and help small guilds/small groups of friends like mine have a common goal. Thanks for any feedback and further suggestions.

Hey all, I appreciate all the feedback.

First of all, I admit I didn’t realize there was a huge disparity between dungeons and difficulty.

Secondly, I didn’t realize there was a “prestige” associated with different sets of gear. the Arah gear is ugly as sin (to me/Light Armor) So, I wouldn’t think anyone who was wearing it was an “uber” gamer, just that they had different tastes in gearing their toon.

I understand that people will take the shortest fastest route etc. So let’s come up with something else!

What I’m really trying to address here is that 5 friends (real life and friends I met in other games) came to GW2 to play together and we like PVE. Other than doing random dungeons “for fun” there is no incentive for us to step outside of our perspective instance grind to see what the rest of the dungeons are about.

I am trying to come up with something on the PVE/Dungeon side of the game because it does seem a little lacking.

I do understand through this feedback that a lot of people are working hard towards certain sets that are harder to get and I appreciate that. Yes, i know there are always people who find the fastest way around everything…what about this then?

Make a Daily dungeon (optional) you can do all 3 paths and have a choice of that dungeons tokens, or “general” tokens and trade them in at your vendor of choice for the tokens you want

1.) Its random
2.)optional, no bonuses so people don’t feel like they HAVE to do their daily.
3.) It changes things up a bit, so you can move around and see some new things.

Ok, as topic suggests is there eventually going to be a time in the future where we switch to a universal token system?

I have a small guild and all of us want items from different instances. Since we only get a few hours here and there to play we end up pugging our perspective dungeons.

We would very much like to play together, a universal token system would make that possible. Plus I would like to see other dungeons.

I’ve always loved the mini pets, the only reason i don’t have one out in GW2 is because they are considered a “collectible.” So I always end up sending them to the bank =/. I would love it if they didn’t take up a bag slot and somehow didn’t get sent to the bank.

I really hope this gets added soon…I made my Sylvari have long purple hair and really wish I would have chose a more neutral color. I want her armor black and red… and the purple just really doesn’t make it work =/

Like many others I didn’t really think it was a big deal until I put a lot of time into my character. Since, I have deleted my Norn about 5 times, because I can’t seem to get her just right…don’t want to wind up with a lot of time into a toon I wish I could change.

During beta the signet that grants a random boon every 10secs(don’t rem the name) granted a boon outside of combat, I always had swiftness up running around with that signet on…I REALLY miss it the way it was =/

Dear God, please no. I was just thinking last night how much I enjoy being able to play when I want, not around a raid schedule.

The feel of the epicness of playing a single player game, but with all the perks of an MMO. (I remember my husband and I both playing DAO on separate comps and me telling him “Why can’t they make a game like this into an MMO, I get to pick where I want to go, what story lines I want to follow etc, I just want you here with me!” I feel like they have accomplished that for me.

Never worrying about what level I am…I don’t have a feeling of “must level” I am having a blast…Nope still not 80, almost!

Love figuring things out on my own down to events, puzzles, traits, weapons etc. I know some people want a guide for everything, but I love that there’s’ really nothing out yet, so I play how I want to play, not how some min/maxer says I should!

“Signet of Inspiration” does not grant its Passive effect until 10 seconds of being in combat. In beta this passive effect was always active like other signet passives effects.”

WoW Rogue’s legendary daggers on cataclysm used to take like 4 months of a straight forward “grind” on the last tier raid, so whats your point regarding the time it takes to get the most “high-end” item?

Did you even play WoW? It never took 4 months, world first pair of daggers took a month and a half, if you add an additional month you could get these daggers by playing 3 hours a week as long as you were in a half decent guild. These daggers are the easiest legendary item to get in WoW so far.

If Blizzard had allowed raiders to reset raid instances once they were cleared someone would have gotten the daggers in the first 3 days.

This was done so early because the whole guild server transferred on cool down, which then resets your raid ID. Not an exploit, but not as intended. Just Sayin’

Got my account back 30 mins ago 9/1 ticket, was transferred to Henge of Denravi, wasn’t naked, still had stuff in my bank, just down the 2 gold I had earned so far, good luck guys, hang in there!
