Just out of curiousity, which would you rather come first, new content(holiday events/ new dungeons etc) or repairing existing content(Bugs) or updating existing content (Guild system/WvWvW/SPVP etc)?
No explaination needed. Just trying to get a sample feel of what people currently think.
Please only limit your answer to:
-New Content
-Repairing Content
-Update Content
-Indifferent
So Wintersday starts this week and there hasn’t been any new information about this event for a couple of weeks. Any new updates soon?? Candy cane sword is back? Candy cane legendary GS? SANTA HELMS?!?!?
T_T
10044039855% agreed! Best example I can think of: Harpy Fractal. .00001 thick red line to show you that you are about to get blasted into eternity
Portal is broken??!!!!
Is it against the “rules” to have a mesmer portal people to locations that take a while to get (I.E. jumping puzzles chests)? I almost have portal on my mesmer and kind of felt like helping those who cant do jumping puzzles.
3 to 4 hours of “grinding” is hard work/too time consuming in the span of a month (31 days)? Poor people -_-’
I am curious to know how much money people have spent on this game in which an update after 3 months can cause such an outrage, just like if they have been fired or their retirement plans have been revoked. I only spent $50.
Yes, statements change over time. They are called amendments. Interpretations change from person to person. “Excitement” varies from person to person. A VP and HP system are obviously different, but possibly cross-integratable? I think so (slope of a line/curve :O!)
I agree with the GW1 Stagnant statement. After being in a top 20 guild for a couple of years, and running HoH every day became boring and the reason I quit. The next expansions released new worlds and skins, which were fun for a couple of hours, and then back to PVP most people went. Sure, new skills were released, but the number of useful skills were small and new strategies/builds were figured out a couple of weeks into each expansion.
I see this “Gear Treadmill” as a “Gear Staircase”. It’s a climb, but judging from Mike and Chris’s AMA, it seems there is a plateau for now (or rather within a year).
I don’t see this stat increase and eventual character level increase as an issue. The real issue at hand is the current game infrastructure as far as bugs, profession balancing, WvW and ETC. I think the building blocks of the game need to be patched up and fixed before more weight keeps getting added on with content.
Remember, at the end of the day, it’s a game with 0 financial commitment after product purchase. If you are concerned with how much of your obviously valuable time you have (it’s a game), then pick up another game, read a book, go be productive. It’s just a game.
I think it would be helpful to have a sticky post on the Bug Forum from patch to patch that says which bugs the ANET team is aware of. It doesn’t have to be one that people can actually post to (that’s the point of the whole forum xD), but at least one for a quick way to see that “Oh, ANET knows about this one” or “Oh, they don’t know about this one yet, let me post something on it”. I know some bugs aren’t exactly quick fixes, but it helps to know if it is on your[ANET] radar I think.
Not sure if this exists already, but just a thought
Make money some other way then. Ori Node runs take like 20-30 minutes (depending on if you WP alot). Go do daily dungeon runs.
Powerful blood is on par with prices of ectos at the moment…I hope more people read this so they go down in price.
Guildie got Colossus/Juggernaut (Whichever one is the precursor) T_T I got like 5G out of it from exotics/ ectos / rich ori node
I’m surprised this thread isn’t over with. It just seems like a flame central lol
I have a feeling it’s the same people posting on this forum, for all I am reading is the same people quoting eachother, and just spitting out the words again in a different form. It almost looks like high school again.
Just get the new gear and call it a day or stop playing. I’m pretty sure that ANET has already read the posts, if not the main “theme” of this thread, and will figure something out. They can’t just pull the plug on the ascended gear as it has the infusion aspect which would just make new dungeon even harder. They can’t just pull the plug on the new dungeon they spent hours on developing, coding, testing etc. There is no magic switch in programming and business.
A question for everyone. How does a company make a dynamic game with a statically requested system?
If a new PVE map/dungeon was released with having no real change to gameplay was released, who would play it? It would be visited for a 1 time run through on most cases, and its the truth. If it has nothing new to offer, why bother? Who would use it?
According to your logic, nobody is playing League of Legends or any other game that is based on player skills.
Change for the sake of change is a bad thing and it usually bites you in the rear. I mean no disrespect but I guess you are a member of younger generation. Let me tell you something, some of us played games on 8 bit machines for years because the gameplay was fun and engaging. Do you really have to have a carrot on a stick to play the game? Wouldn’t it be nice to play a game because it is fun to play?
I know, Utopian concept.
Yes, league of legends hasn’t released a new map. They release new champions, rework skills, redo and add/remove items. I guess that must be static. I’ve been playing league since beta and it has lost “fun” for the most part. Only reason to play it is with friends since they live far.
Who said the carrot needed to be on the stick in order to play. A change in gear or stats is bound to happen in any MMO. Different items, critters, bosses, etc is what keeps the game fresh. I don’t know why they are doing this 3 months in, but regardless its what they can do to keep people interested. Don’t like how it is supposedly going to affect WvW over the next months to a year? Go to sPvP. You will have plenty of time through the releases to get the upgraded equipment
Not sure where your skill comment is derived from but even in this game, as I’ve mentioned before in this thread, I have taken down people with legendaries with some blue gears. Everyone feels that this “gear grind” and its small % stat increase will completely overshadow any skill required in WvW. It doesn’t really affect PvE at all since there is minimal effort required for that. If you were dominant before in WvW, get the gear and stay dominant. If you were bad in WvW or whatever PVP, get the gear and practice some more.
I wasn’t aware that the increase in stats (what like 5%) ruins w v w because the five percent completely overtakes any strategy required in wvw. Not sure what servers you guys are in but ours is pretty competitive SBI. Also skill is required especially for those just going around trying to fight someone 1v1. I can take down people with legendaries with my blue weapons 1v1. Someone can have the best gear in the game of they want. I can have slightly worse weapons but if you can outplay them, you will win. Think first, speak later
Yes I figured as much but I think the servers for NA are located in California (as most are), so I wasn’t sure if they do DST and apply it to the ingame clock :o
Hey guys,
Anyone know if the WvW time reset (for example, currently every Friday at 8:00ish EST) will change due to daylight savings? If so, will DST also affect when daily’s, dungeon, etc reset?
Thanks!!
Perhaps a surprise appearance with the gold text in the chatbox like old GW1 times?? ;D? ;D????
Or has Mr.Frog been lost in the old Lion’s arch :O
I’m pretty sure from early interviews and speculation about there being a cash shop in the game was to allow for cosmetics for players who seek it but not to be a way to imbalance the actual game play environment. If you look at the cash shop items currently, there is nothing in there that gives a player a significant advantage as far as game play or player progression, aside from the minor bonuses you can purchase. I personally think this is the way to go as I’ve played many MMOs in the past that allowed end game items to just be purchased and make the others who don’t want to pay have to work for hours on end to get the equivalent.
To me, the concept of buying a level 80 character is like buying a game then starting at the end of the game. Sure, you may not want to do the quests and all of that again, but there are easy ways especially in this game to power level yourself up to 80 (look at crafting). It will cost some in game gold but it’s a small price if you are that impatient to get yourself up to max level while having barebones equipment.
I’m not sure there is a way, but would it be possible to add a latency and FPS description or something on the HUD? It would be pretty useful I think during WvW and dungeons with graphics up the wazoo
“Why does this game have so many bots?!” Doesn’t every game?
“The economy is so out of whack!” Everyone is rushing for endgame
“I paid so much money for this game!! Why all the bugs!?” I’m guessing it could be made “Perfect” if you didn’t like to have anything change, no new updates, and have a static game with no dynamic feel to it.
Hey guys, I’m not sure if the Master mining pick is bugged or if they changed the dynamics of it, but it used to be able to mine mithril, platinum, and orichalcum nodes without any error. Recently (probably up to two weeks ago), I literally finished one of the mining picks while going at a rich mithril vein, depleted half way (got about 6 ore), then equipped my next master mining pick, and I got ore chunks. It hasn’t worked on anything higher than gold veins since.
I tried checking past patch notes but I didn’t see anything regarding this. I tried to interpret the item description but it just says that it is more effiecent at gathering (as opposed to what :O)
Anyone have any input?
As many of us become level 80, we will want to be equipped with only the best items. Which produces the best equipment? Something you can craft or something through mystic force/dungeon running/ etc???
Anyone have any clues?
