Anet and Fractals

UHh what the hell are u on about. I am saying that all ascended gear should be available in fractals, because only ascended gear can be infused to give AR. And AR is unique to only fotm. So it doesnt make sense that its available through laurels or guild missions but not in Fotm itself. They should be made available in all 3 places so that ppl who are just regular players have a chance to get it but still hardcore fractlers can get it faster so that we can progress to higher lvls of FOTM.

I believe that is the plan. All the ascended gear isn’t out yet.

AC difficulty for 35+

You just have to learn the new tactics. When I did AC story mode with sub-80 characters back in the first month of the game, it took us 4 hours to learn the tactics.

It is unreasonable to expect to use old tactics on new fights.

The beginner dungeon -is- easier than the later ones. The beginner dungeon is AC story mode. Not AC explorable mode. Explorable mode is hard mode. AC story mode is easily doable by level 30 characters.

Also, all of the dungeons are scheduled to get re-vamps. Not just AC. You are looking at a process that isn’t finished yet. Wait till all the dungeons get modified, then comment.

Thirdly why in the world would be give ascended gear in rewards systems which have nothing to do with fractals? Ok I know there have been kids crying about ascended gear being available to only ppl only doing fractals. Then just introduce the amulet and any new ascended gear to the fotm vendor and leave the rest in the laurel vendor. That way everyone has a chance on getting it. What the hell happened to playing the game the way you want it to. Takes way to long for doing lame dailies to get a freaking amulet, as I mentioned is previous post in that 20 days it take to get a amulet, I can get 2 rings and 1 capacitor using fractals.

You’re not supposed to gear up with ascended gear as fast with laurels are you are by running the actual fractals. That is intentional. Would you want to go into a level 54 fractal with someone who has never done them and has obtained all their gear from dailies and monthlies? It’s just supposed to be a way to -supplement- running fractals.

So now that AC is not good, recommendations?

Can I just add to this suggestion, start charging us a subscription fee to pay for these server upgrades.

I payed for decent and playable performance with the original purchase. If they can’t keep up their end of the bargain they should refund.

I don’t believe that was mentioned in the user agreement you agreed to. Good luck with your lawsuit.

Lawsuit? It’s not relevant if they mention it, there’s ‘reasonable expectations’. Don’t try to be smart when you are without clue.

I believe you can already request a refund if you are dissatisfied with the game. Good bye and I hope you find a game you enjoy.

Remove loot drops entirely

This is written mostly in frustration at the countless “whining” posts and is intended to be taken with a grain of salt. But….

This is the only way I can think of to satisfy those who don’t want grind.

Simply remove all loot drops from the game above the level of green.

1. Everyone gets one free Rare item per month per character in the mail.
2. Everyone gets one free Exotic item per year per character in the mail.
3. Everyone gets one free Legendary item per 4 years per character in the mail.

Now all of you complaining about grinding can relax and just play the game.

Everyone is on an equal playing field.

Dungeon Story Mode Laurels

I’ll bite, the item prices are great if you have one toon. For people that have multiple toons the high end gear is somewhat out of reach. Also for those who say this is a farm method for laurels is completely false. Farming would be allowing players to get a laurel each time they finished any story mode dungeon with no cap limits. This would just provide an alternate route to getting more laurels at a moderate speed that is controlled.

You are getting them at a moderate speed that is controlled already. Tell you what, I would agree to this with the caveat that all laurel prices are increased by a factor of 3. That way, you don’t get gear any faster than without this system.

Replacing All Dugeon Tokens with Laurels

Again, why do you NEED a full set of dungeon armor and weapons? Your entire argument is predicated upon this one assumption.

The dungeon armor and weapons are nothing more than a skin. They are meant to show that you’ve accomplished something hard. You haven’t explained how the lack of dungeon armor and weapons is damaging your ability to play the game.

Even though they have better stats, they do not prevent you from doing any content.

The only reason you perceive grind is because you make the choice to grind.

My thought is that you simply want another way to farm laurels so that you can max out your gear is the shortest time possible.

I agree. I think this has as much chance of being implemented as a suggestion to change GW2 to a single-player game.

If you think “gaming is becoming too casual”, then GW2 is not for you. Casual is the target audience.

sheesh..some mean-spirited folks here, guess I was acting uppity to use YOUR forums, but didn’t start this game until after christmas and am leveling 5 chars slowly. At this rate I’ll hit 80 about the time I get enough laurels.

You don’t NEED laurels to play this game and see all content. You don’t NEED laurels to enjoy the game. Laurels are a bonus. Lack of laurels won’t keep you out of anything.

Dungeon Difficulty

Yes you can complete the dungeons with a group of lower lvled players that know what they are doing. But I am talking about new players that are not a very high lvl. The hardest thing for me is getting a group of five players that know what they are doing. So back to one of my original points. The players that have little to no problem with the dungeons are players who run them or players that play the game like it is a second job. Yes their are a few players out there that are just better at MMOs.

In order to make this game more enjoyable I think a hard mode and normal mode should be implemented for the dungeons and maybe even the story mode for the players who are story driven.

Explorable mode dungeons is SUPPOSED to be hard mode. They are intended to be the hardest content in the game. The issue is your expectations. There is no penalty for doing story mode over and over, why not do that if you find explorable mode too hard?

Name change contracts!

It’s the old argument again, Anet, you released a Total Makeover Kit which allowed changing sex of your character, but 2 months later and still counting, there isn’t a name change option?

I feel I’ve been patient now – this feature can HARDLY be that tough to implement seeing as you can force them on names that infract your naming policy – and in addition, you’ve already got the distinction between ACCOUNT name and CHARACTER name so that even though if you change your CHARACTER name, anyone who’s got you in their friend/guild lists, etc. will still see you due to being the same account.

What’s taking so long on this renaming feature?
Please give us some insight, waiting 2-3+ months for a feature that – compared to a lot of the other optional stuff you’ve put out – hardly can take more than a few days of coding max is wearing my patience thin…

You say you HARDLY think it is that difficult and that it can hardly take more than a few days of coding. May I ask how you know this? Do you know for a fact how the backend works?

If I told you that the devs have already said that this is harder than it looks would you believe it? If you did believe it, would it make any difference?

DE bosses were never meant to be anything other than “casual” content. So why not make them easy?

That said, another way to make DEs scale better might be with number of adds and with aoe damage. Single-target damage is tricky. You don’t want people being one-shot one after another. But personally, I wouldn’t mind if Anet added a few difficulty challenges like, adds have to be killed or they hurt people, adds don’t all group up nicely to be aoe’d down, things like portals or other objects have to be destroyed or boss is tougher/invulnerable/hurts more/etc., etc, etc.
