Guild Wars 2

I have a monster of a gaming rig, and the game looks fantastic in 4k, but the UI is way too small to play. Too bad there is no way to upscale the UI, or I would play the game with these settings all the time.

Would be so cool if the expansion launched with an updated API to the whole game, namely dx12. I can run the game maxed out with 60 frames already, but it would still be great to see Anet bring the game to the future down to its roots. Plus it would allow other players with lower end pcs to play the game with better frames.

well, you gotta admit that blizzard listens to its players. it would be cool to see A-net spontaneously add content or make fixes based on the communities input.

I dont think this is true, or else i would not have immediately dumped all that gold away. there are many people that have gotten more than 2 or 3 precursors in the forge in a single run. google it.

Lol I’m not mad about losing the 1000g. I could care less about it because it wasn’t earned, it just fell in my lap. I’m just a little ticked off that the legend didn’t drop after all that. My main priority is to get my fiance the precursor of her choice. The quest to getting a legendary is something that is keeping both of us really interested in the game right now. And who cares if I “wasted” stones with Rares. The only other thing I use the stones on are Mystic salvage kits, and I already have 6 stacks of them. I knew the risk of using the forge, i just wanted to share my story.

so today me and my fiance were working on world completion (im working towards the juggernaut, already have colossus) and realized we had a few left over forge stones. in an attempt to get the legend for my fiance, i tossed in 3 lvl 80 rare staves and a stone and got dawn in return. We were so excited because we would now have a ton of gold to try for the legend. sold for 1000G, we began tossing away staves into the forge. 6 times we got imryldyeen, which shares the same thumbnail as the legend. no clue why A-net would have the precursors share a thumbnail with other exotics, it just gets your hopes up when you see it. no legend was forged today. It’s just extremely frustrating, she didnt want to craft twilight, so why not have some way to trade for a precursor that you would want? you would think that with 1000G you should be able to get atleast 1 precursor of your choice… oh well, just wanted to share my frustration with you guys.

i dont think the 340.52 driver made any changed to game performance, was just a driver update to work with nvidias new shield tablet. right?

good to see that they are acknowledging the issue, but i wish we could have a time line on when it will be fixed. i really thought that 24 hours would be enough to find the kitten and shut him down, but i guess it just doesn’t work that way.

Lol well something is up, gw2 is not THAT demanding of a game.

The zergs in this game will drop any beast of a rig to its knees. For instance, full map tequatl zerg during burn phase = 15-30 fps max everything 1080p. And that’s running on i7 4770k @4.2, 2 780’s in SLI, 16gb ram at 1600mhz, Asus maximus IV extreme mobo, ax1200i psu, and I’ll stop there.

The only real Solution for better fps is to upgrade your rig. The devs are 2 years into this build, it’s not getting any more optimized than it already is. What cpu are you running? Are you pushing enough power? What res are you running? No way your card should be getting 15 fps. What am I trying to say? The problem is on your end.

Have had the game for a year but just started rolling the forge 2 weeks ago for the colossus. 200G in rare hammers got it. Everyone in my guild hates me for it haha, and to make it worst I got an ascended long bow from tequatl last night XD.

Well first I’m going to focus on world completion like I should have done in the first place. Only at 32% on my warrior (just re rolled) so hopefully I’ll have most of the mats/gold/karma needed by the time it’s complete.

Hello everyone!! last week i decided to begin a jouney towards a legendary and for some reason started forging for the precursor (the colossus) first. well i spent 10 dollars and converted gems to gold and bought all lvl 80 rare hammers. after about halfway through the stack of hammers i got the colossus! cant believe it. anyways, i have a long way to go until ill actually be able to create the juggernaut, so i was wondering if slotting a gem into the weapon would prevent me from crafting the legendary… odd question i know, but im worried ill kitten myself if i do. thanks!

I just started throwing hammers in the forge last week to get the colosus. 300+ gold gone with no return.

I’m quite confident that in a F2P MMO which requires a large userbase to pay off, the way the developers intended the enjoy the game includes playing on machines ~2 years or even older.

Excluding a largish part of your users just to satisfy the edge demographic of graphic whor…graphic kittens isn’t exactly a sound business strategy.

If some players were only getting 30-40 fps before the patch this doesn’t really give the developers any room to add any type of visual upgrade (if they don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings that is… ). I’m all for minor graphical improvements in the games I play. If something as simple as a environmental weather effect (done right, which it is, and looks great) moves your pc from 30 fps (which is already fairly low) to 20 fps it’s obvious that it’s your hardware at fault. Maybe the devs can add an option to turn it off or something but I don’t see how that would in any way make your experience better at all.

Sorry if this seems harsh or blunt, just trying to make a point.

They have obviously added different effects to this map that are not present in other maps. It could be an optimization issue, but honestly I think those that are really noticing a frame drop are running out-dated hardware. I run 2 780’s in SLI maxed everything, and I see no performance hits. If this map was truly not optimized even I would notice some frame stuttering. Just upgrade your hardware people, don’t settle for mediocre frame rates. Bring on the flames, I’m just saying, if your going to sit on the computer all day long and play this game, why not invest some money into your rig and enjoy the game the way developers intended.

Well, move on with your friends bud, most of my friends left as well. We all tried ESO but that game flopped so hard and i just returned to GW2. No other MMO offers such an immersive combat experience (and plenty of other things i dont feel like jotting down). anyways, although my friends have left, my fiance refuses to play any other game, so right now were working on our world completion to get a legendary.

Gw2 is a beautiful MMO, and as patches or expansions come along chances are the devs will add little enhancements which will tax your pc. I’m sure there are players that spend a lot of money on gems, that money could go towards a new gfx card, or cpu. Playing anything below 60 frames drives me up a wall lol, sorry if that makes me sound like I’m bragging, but I’m not.

Well, I haven’t played the patch yet, worked all morning and I have night classes :/. I play a ton of pc games so I invested quite a bit into my rig. why not put some money into your pc so you can play the games the way they were meant to be played? That way you don’t have to worry about a simple patch or update ruining your experience. The new environment must be using some new particle effects or fancier textures than the other zones.
