I wish I could give back my HoT

I dislike big guilds, my favourite guild was small but we always kept up before. Now, everyone has lost the will to play, despite buying HoT.
Joined another small guild, they couldn’t keep up with the level and upgrades and also gave up.
I am now in a guild that is small/medium but the leader works his kitten off to upgrade and donates all the stuff to the treasurer. I try to help but without the leader going to extreme lengths, it would fail too.

I see so many max level characters, even with lots of masteries, running the old dungeons on story just cause it feels authentic. You would think the developers would realise they needed to add some in HoT to carry on the story but hey, they added a raid and even forgot to add LFR…

Was trying to complete legendary collection in HoT maps yesterday and the maps kept closing. I would be half way to getting the event I needed, map closing pops up, everyone leaves. :|

I want Glints Gaze Mask and Shattered Holographic Wings available again.

And I must admit, for how long the game has been out + an expansion, we got:

-almost no new armor sets
-no new race
-not a full new set of new legendaries
-not improved LFG and no LFR at all, I mean considering they added a raid and all, this is poorly thought out, at best
-no player housing, guild halls are not personal they suck
-no new dungeons
-broken servers that keep spam closing and not keeping people’s reward track

I like gw2 but at the end of the day I will probably get bored again due to the constant tiny annoyances like the server atm, and go to play Aion or ESO, considering they are also sub fee free.

Exactly, I really miss the old Sylvari town clothes outfit I had… I have the tonic now, but i would have thought town clothes would be more suited to be turned into an outfit than a tonic…

Crafting doesn’t cost me much, I just wait until I have the mats. I think I have 3 ascended armor so far, and full ascended rings, back, amulet and accessories. Just taking it slow.

Eternity will not be bound unless you use it. So you can get both GS skins of sunrise and twilight and then make eternity and sell it. I’m pretty sure that’s why eternity is quite cheap.

Also, if someone gets eternity and binds it, it unlocks all skins: eternity, twilight, sunrise, dusk, dawn and variations.

Sylvari commander is the most fun!

Also dislike the stuff that’s unavailable to players now, such as some wings back items etc that you can’t get anymore and can’t get back if you had them before and deleted.

Lack of armor skins in HoT, too many outfits in Gemstore and not enough armor skins being made.

In a game where armor collecting is purely for aesthetic reasons, I am really surprised at how they aren’t making new armor! I already have all the old ones from Gemstore now I’m just bored, no new ones in the game either.

This is why I quit to play Aion for ages.

So, what are they actually doing to make reaper trundle less? I see the Ds change which doesn’t affect a Reaper since we are not allowed to be a Reaper and use Ds instead of Rs.

And a little bit of healing while in Rs is going to speed me up in fights? I don’t die anyway, as long as I have some life force. But it takes so long to kill stuff.

Has the mask ever returned to the Gemstore? Does anyone have any insight on this please?

At day or two back I hit the “You have No More Masteries” in Tyria and the exp bar just sits now. Surprisingly enough, it is something I don’t like as I thought I wouldn’t even notice, but I do. Some sort of alternate bar that could be chosen that progresses with exp and give a small reward of some sort when it dings 80 again would be appreciated.

I honestly can’t believe that they didn’t think of this before release!? :S

They could maybe reward a tyria mastery point every 10 levels or something, because at the moment a lot of them are achievement based and some people don’t like that.

Experience sub-80 was a single “currency” system. This is superior design to the dual currency system of Mastery points and XP. Not so much a problem as long as there are Masteries to unlock and M. Points that players can/will go after. However, the system’s flaws are in the dual unlock nature of Masteries and their finite nature. As always, some players are going to complete their Masteries long before new ones come along, while other players are not going to want to get M. Points hidden in things they don’t like. The most vocal group in the latter category (lately) are those who don’t like platforming.

So what should happen once a player accumulates enough XP to max a bar, but there are no Masteries left, or that player has no points to spend? If we’re not to accumulate skill points as under the old system, perhaps, as the OP suggests, there should be something else to replace it. Not sure if that should be what he suggests, though. It could be spirit shards, or perhaps a recurring Achievement point, as with the recurring salvage “achievement.” I am, of course, open to other ideas.

I like the recurring achievement points idea! Even if it’s like 1 point per 5 levels I would be happy with that, lol.

Well, I like your idea. I also understand why you feel you need this, I’ve been feeling the same.

We used to get endless levels with a skill point after each, so I wouldn’t even mind having that back when a mastery is not active for exp gain! Although, skill points could now be substituted for spirit shards or even better, a small reward chest of some kind (I love your idea).

I just think we need a place for the extra exp to go to. It doesn’t have to actually add anything to your character (like before HoT, no extra level gain), but a small reward and also that feeling of gaining exp again instead of it going nowhere in a pointless animation to your maxed out mastery exp.

Why not both?

Why can’t we just keep the fun stuff in the game as seasonal events?

I definitely think something is missing when mastery exp is full. Makes sense to add something at least, that we can switch back to, to make farming exp still worth it.

Please can we bring back Dragon Bash this year and the achievement for the Holographic Shattered Wings, which I would really love the opportunity to get because I missed out on it.

I’ve just obtained Winter’s Presence and I hear that it will still be obtainable next year, so why not do the same for the Dragon Bash? And of course, bring it back. It’s a awesome event that should be a yearly thing (Dragon Festival).

Or just make the jp a fun thing but not a requirement, it’s the last thing I need to do to get the winter’s presence skin, however while I’m playing on a laptop with 13 fps at most, with all the settings on minimum, I can tell you this is impossible. I don’t have enough frames to be able to direct my jump in time.
Now, luckily for me, this is because I’m on my laptop for the holidays, and when I get back to my pc I will do it. But some players always play on a kittenty system, have some pity and make it that just participating in the puzzle 3 times counts? It’s the holiday season after all…

I love my really slim female Sylvari but don’t get why she hasn’t got a waist. Also why she has absolutely no boobs in some outfits and medium size boobs in others? I guess I just want a shape that’s a bit more consistent.

I base my main char on myself and would like this change for immersion, though also would need new pretty hair

The artist that primarily worked on the sylvari hairstyles told us long ago (back when there were still racial forums) that stuff like pine needle hair or ferns would be too resource-intensive for the engine since it would require too many polygons to look right.

I remember that post. It’s probably why that wisteria hairstyle is only a lovely dream and why so many of the hairstyles, both old and new, are solid wood shapes or immobile leaves.

Still, given the limitations, I still feel they could make more than 3 new racial hairstyles a couple of times a year. They seem perfectly capable of making whole new weapon sets once a month. New hairstyles every 3 months should be doable.

I don’t see why the Sylvari hairstyles are so limited when other races have really pretty, detailed new hairstyles? I mean, look at the Norn plaits, I dream of something like that for Sylvari. Sigh of sadness.

Guys, first of all thank you for the appreciation. Honestly I’d get on it and design dozens of concept hair, but when I did that one nobody even cared (not talking players here). I’d even do it for free (to a limit, of course) just for them to give us new stuff.

Have you even looked at the hairstyles? They have almost everything you’ve listed already.

Totally agree. Why do people think legendary weapons can be sold on tp?

Of 3 races I play, and I always play females for immersion, humans just seem to get more time from the devs. I also like Sylvari and Norns. Sylvari have no hairstyles that interest me and questionable body shapes, as well as a lot of misfitting armor. Norns have that awful voice and also suffer from misfitting armor, like sometimes their shoes are just huge for no reason. Humans are just so much better designed, all armor fits, lots of nice hairstyles and faces and lots still being added.

Bottom line, this game has not much endgame except appearance and skins.

No one is forcing you to get the skin, it’s only a skin after all. Useless! Relax and leave it alone if you don’t want to do the JP or drinks

ANets decisions are baffling, to say the least. Lots of hair styles are out there as well as tattoos, faces, horns, ears, body markings for the various races. They could be raking in the money by pushing out all these on a regular basis, but months go by between new hair and faces and no new tattoos, horns, body markings or ears are available.

Yep. I also am baffled by the hairstyles that they have released, for Sylvari anyway. They are very, umm… unappealing? What I’m trying to say is, when they release new female human hair everyone gets a restyle and loves it, when it’s Sylvari I feel like people take a look and go, eww, no thank you, and you don’t see many people with the new hair at all.

I’ve been following each addition of new hairstyles and even tried some of them, but I don’t use any because I find them to be too similar, too short or make the face look odd due to bald patches on the temples or forehead, which I just can’t handle. A healthy, leafy plant doesn’t have random bald branches.

Also they don’t fall in with my idea of what my Sylvari should look like. I have spent a lot of money on this game and would spend more if they put nice hair in. I would probably change it every week if there was variety but at the moment, I hate all of them except one of the vanilla flower head hairstyles (the one most of the npcs have).

- I wish. And I’ve said exactly this before! Thank you for your input. What annoys me is that it’s mostly short hair available, whereas plants grow very quickly and wouldn’t it hurt to get it cut so often? I want lots of different lengths, like humans and Norns have.
