I started my Nevermore Collection, crafted the 1st staff and now
the inscription tells me to salvage it to get a new material.
But I’m wondering which kit I need to take: Is there a 100% chance to get this thing
or do I need to use a BlackLion-kit?

So last week I finished my 3rd ranger and to celebrate, I wanted to give him weapons and armor with sinister stats. I owned all recipes, but the asc sinister torch.
So I went to the Huntsman NPC in Lion’s Arch and bought a recipe, but unfortunately I had to notice, that you cannot choose the sinister-combo to unlock. After that, I googled and bought everything needed from the TP, but now I sit on an unnecessary asc recipe.
I submitted a ticket to support asking them, if there is any way to get a refund or something like that.
The GM responding gave me a negative answer, which I have to accept, I guess, but I wanted to get ANet’s attention on this – if the combination is ig and easily accessible, why not make it craftable with the recipe – for like more or less airheads like me?

I don’t understand where the problem is. Ppl complain about GW2 not being historically
related to GW and ANet not using old lore. But then they do it partially and a part of the playerbase is still not happy. I for example never played GW and I really love the idea of the Exalted. Using the glint-connection gives the story some kind of foreseeing (dunno how to explain it right), but it still doesn’t require, that I play GW to understand what’s going on.
We meet the Exalted and not the Mursaat? It’s not the end of the world and definitely not the end of the GW2-lore. There are plenty of opportunities to do so in the future.
Ok, I’m not sure, if this actually was a bug- or exploit, but this night I logged in and found around 44g in my trade post waiting for me. I was wondering where it came from. I usually do farming in my evenings and make about 30-45g from it, but I already had the money from the night before. I didn’t take it out, because I was afraid that it was some kind of exploit. My TP-history didn’t give me any clue. I relogged on a different character and a few minutes later back on my first character and when I checked the TP-window, it was empty (just a few gold from new sellings).
I’d like to repeat, I didn’t take the money, but I forgot to take a screen, because I wasn’t sure about it being a bug or maybe something I forgot in the TP.
This isn’t about getting the 44g, I just wanted to ask, if other ppl had the same “experience” and maybe tell some devs about it. Since I haven’t taken the gold, I can’t even say, if it will show in the inventory.
So, I’d like to agree with those, that already said, that this event is just pretty weak.
I had to work yesterday, so I didn’t knew about the reward bug and I just started
playing a few hours ago. First map went normal, events are easy and boring, but whatever. I just wanted one of the potions, I don’t care that it costs gold. But after the 2nd and 3rd map I definitely won’t touch gw2 till this nightmare of an event is over: First I got a dc halfway through the event, next map I get an error 1 minute before the 30 min are over: REALLY?!
But hey, I should have known better, there were a couple of indicators, that the overflow, I was playing in, was horrible: the sound went away, than my gameplay went from fluid to screen after screen – should have recognised this from SW.
So don’t mind me, ANet. I see, you are on a good way towards HoT…
I think it’s pretty funny how some ppl actually are denying the rest of the world any sense of humor just because of the fact, that they don’t like this so called joke. No I don’t like it. Yes I see some like it and can laugh about this, that’s cool, suit yourself. But that does not mean you know anything about me or about me having a sad existence without any humor and laughing.
And just because some ppl call themselves a majority does not mean they are actually one or IF you are: Please, please show me some statistics/ evidence.
I came online and the first minutes the chat was confused “Is it a bug?” “Is it intended” than everyone remembered it is 1st April… Some thought it was funny, but I read more postes in chat how boring or annoying this was after a few minutes. So does that really mean, all these guys have no humor? if you think so, maybe YOU should re-think…

It’s no shame to cancel an event like this, when a tragady happens. It’s more like
a show of strength to say “ok guys, in the light of recent days, we wanted to do this or that on April 1st but maybe we should reconsider this” (Or atleast give ppl the chance to decide wether they wanna have this patch by giving them a turn-off button)
Sorry ANet-guys but this 1st April is the worst so far. The Animation is not funny. Under the current circumstances it’s a sign of bad taste. I could have lived with the animation,
but the “joke” music after jumping and dying is disgusting. I can’t even understand the
“ANet is settled in the US”-excuse for not knowing what’s going on in the world. Your market is made for Europe too. Pls think the next time, before patching something like this! Regards
Yes, I do criticize, because ppl can say a lot without a proof. Maybe there were already to many disappointments in my “relationship” with ANet, but I cannot believe such confirmations until they actually DO patch. And with this issue, it took them just to long – like giving texture things etc more importance.
Wow after almost a week of silence, now finally someone had mercy with us. Haven’t played for almost a week now and I’m pretty mad -.- (Btw 2 lines about the real issue and 10 or so lines about multiple threads?!) This problem should have been addressed 3+ days ago.
It’s just a big shame, what ANet is doing. 4 new builds since the patch and STILL no ranger fix. I’m to scared to go into sPvP right now, because I can’t trust my pet anymore.
But oh, what am I talking: Thank you ANet for fixing a sooooo important texture bug Irony off That is actually the first time for more than 2 years, that I really have my doubts about the Devs and their way to go with the game. Breaking a mechanic – ok, happens, possible – but not addressing the issue, even after days makes me lose my hope and excitement for HoT.
Lol just an example, look at the sylvari. I think the 3 faces before the new ones are just made from 1 face but with (only) a few differences. I think every race gets that once in a while and I’m sure that humans and norn will get to that point too.
It’s not like Charr’s and Asura’s faces are all the same…

well, 2 member of the enemy team left when my team scored around 200 points, but I noticed, that the enemy in general wasn’t paying much attention or trying to get points…
no decaps, no real pushs in the mid. we had the far point almost the whole fight.
our close point was never touched by them. as you can see at around 400+ vs 36 only the ranger was left in the enemy team.
I don’t think, that they actually had any clue what to do.
Geez, guys calm down. The LS wasn’t that great that it’s worth the amount of whining in this thread.
Sorry, but in my opinion gw2 would be far worse if they would cut or skip the nice festival-events like Wintersday or Halloween just for the sake of the LS. I’m sure if they did this, the forum would be flooded with hate-threads…
Let’s just give the devs the benefit of the doubt, that they will make better decisions for the gameplay and content in the new year.
Sry but ich can’t think of this as a solution of the balance-problem… ppl on T1 servers play there because either they just want to win or because lower servers are dead on their gaming-times (just an example) or because they stayed on the server for a long time. As long as the rewards still support massive zergfights more than 15-20 men groups servers with more coverage will always be fully stacked.
I played on a T5/ T6 server and we once faced 2 servers for several weeks in a row, but nobody transfered because of this. And Piken/ Vizu/ SFR have had this matchup often enough and still ppl keep staying there, especially with this huge transfer-costs, even to T6 and lower.
For example: I’m just annoyed at reset and the day before reset, but between, I’m more focused on the fights – so for myself I see no reason to move.
Build looks interesting, but I would rethink the runes… At least for my taste. Might try it out.
But to be honest, I really hope you tried out the all the classes you consider noob-style (and you should be atleast a mid-well playing gamer), since you think you are able about judging some1 else’ build or how he/ she plays, even though you don’t know him/ her.
If you just want pure DMG, fine, go with it – it’s your right, but to say “I exclude Engis, Rangers etc just because they are noobs!” is pretty hilarious. I saw videos where rangers killed lupi faster than a mesmer/ warr group. I had a fractal-group with 4 rangers, that was faster (about 20 min) than the warr-guard-etc group (was a competition we made just for fun and because ppl always complain about rangers).
I could say more about the classes you consider noobish, but that would be to much I guess.
I would just suggest you look for a dungeon-group you can permanently run dungeon – than you always knows what to expect and nobody gets insulted. But that’s, well, just an idea…
Report them or live with it. OR just talk to the ppl to make sure, they have proper AR and enough time, before joining fractals with them. OR open the dungeon yourself…
If there wasn’t the “protection” for the opener, ppl could just look for an opener, wait till he/ she has entered the dungeon and then kick him to invite someone else.

Hi, I just had a fight in SM, Eternal Borderlands. Everything was fine, but than without warning, like laggs etc, my laptopscreen went black, but I still could see the mouse-curser
and move it… Q.Q I guess, that’s it with reset fight.
so where is than the sense in world vs world? I mean, everyone is running around with 60+ zergs and we all know in this situations – mass counts.
so it is 60+ against 120+? if this is the way it goes, than we can just go back to the old system where server plays randomly vs server: doesn’t matter if for example 70 kodash fight against a t3 (or lower) server or a server gets doubleteamed – everyone can guess the outcome.
So when 2 zergs (from different servers) are standing peaceful together whily they besiege a 3rd servers keep (more than just once), that is normal for you? that is actually poor and very gentlemanlik, yeah.
I think, it’s not actually the server/ wvw population, which make ppl crazy and what some ppl here don’t understand. Yeah Sure T1 servers have more ppl wanting to play WvW and sure, we have to wait longer… And that’s fine for me, even though I play longer on my server than the server-hopper.
But what gets on my nerves is this broken queue. Sry but when I’m in a supermarket standing in the line, than I can pay earlier than the guy who joined the line 5 mins later, no matter what I’m or he is buying.

About the server transfer issue… I’m sure, everyone, who suggests to transfer to an other server, would be willing to leave his community, his guild, his friends behind, if something like this would happen to his/ her servers. end of irony you guys always just think of the T1 population as achievement hunters/ winning-team-joiner, sry to disappoint you, but these types of players actually came from your servers!
And what about the ppl sometimes playing wvw at night? I hear it from friends on other servers (T2 and lower) – their night-wvw is pretty… poor.

I had yesterday a lvl up in WvW and yes: it restores all HP (I wanted to lure a zerg to my ppl, but got in DS, but than our zerg rolled over them, and I had a lvl up) and enemies still gets pushed away. I call it “tactical lvl up”

but having lvl up doesn’t have anything to do with wxp consumables… like it says you get wxp, not ep.
I would appreciate an option like this, I mean, 1 min isn’t that much.
But I guess, the installation would be too difficult for Arena. For example there still exists the bugg, when a person in your group leaves the map by dc or something else, than he still seems to be on the map (according to group and guildinterface)…
On Friday at reset my guild all rallied and got ready for WvW. BOOM! Reset happens and all hit ‘go to X’ (the borderland we’ve been assigned). Maybe half get in and rest are queued—for hours and one of our comms eventually logs off without making it to WvW at all after so long. >.<
OK, I’m now in WvW but I’m lagging while standing still (I mean, skills that I know I hit back before waypointing to spawn—during the battle that killed me—is starting to blinking on my skillbar even though now I’m at wp in spawn).
Re-rally on my guild comm, we move out and as I’m travelling I am flipping through my attunements like I usually do—-and I can’t. Stuck in Earth for almost 20 secs. Later, comm asks for AoE on a wall to clear siege and my char pops a Static Field instead of channelling Meteor Shower. Yes, I say to myself after looking twice, I AM in Fire attunement. But just like the weird blinking I got while in spawn, game seems to think this is still 5 secs ago when I was in Lighting attune!
After we cap tower we move back to spawn and head out a new direction. I’m a little trailing after my guild because of selling & repair. I head out and get jumped by a thief while in the tunnel just before passing sentry at Lowlands. Start fighting and evasive maneuvers , and even movement keys aren’t working well, let alone skills! I’m pressing buttons and nothing is happening while I get to be a spectator to my own characters death.
Full health >thief hits> press skill & movement keys> nothing> thief hits again > skill keys and F1-F4 on 3-4 sec delay> char at near death> heal skill blinking uselessly> screen pause> char lying dead, pinned like a frog in biology lab. WTH…
Lag during big zerg fights is understandable. I’m in T1 NA and we have big population of WvW’ers. Fine. I can deal with a bit of lag and have still loved this game since I started. But this kind of lag during even small fights or while running across a field or inside spawn is new, more intense and causing me to be nearly unable to play at all.
- I DC multiple times a night
- I wait in queues, then get into WvW only to face dying repeatedly in stupid ways because skills don’t fire off, or rubberbanding backward INTO the ball of death I just was trying to get away from.
- I dodgeroll through AC fire, make it past with only a little health missing—only to see myself downed or dead a few seconds later; as if I never made it out of the red circles.
Seeing others post things like “Devon warned us all” or “you should have transferred to a smaller server” or “your fault for being on that server” just infuriates me. It’s clouding up the atmosphere with irrelevant things.
Got nothing to do with just being on a “stacked server” and everything to do with ANet.
Pre-Season 1 announcement, I lagged occasionally in huge fights when all 3 groups were balled up together somewhere. May have had to turn down GFX to Best Performance if all the lights flashing and players moving around made my PC have trouble. Rarely disconnected.
Post-Season 1 announcement, players have transferred here…hell whole guilds have joined us!!…my game played the same as before, no real problem.
Since Friday Oct. 18, I get lag in PvE areas, lag in Halloween patch areas, lag in WvW, increased loading screens(IE: 30sec long for some), many screen freezes per night, booted to char select, rubberbanding and teleporting( me, other players, YAKS!!), absolute skill lag chaos, etc.
Sorry for this wall of text, didn’t realize how fed up and kitten ed off I was till I started smashing my keyboard just now.
Finally sigh someone who can put the things in words, I couldn’t find. Especially the stuff about pre and post season 1 announcement thumbs up for you I can’t stand the comments like “move to an other server” etc anymore.
I want my pre season 1 situation back!!
Achievement Points are fine. People transferring to stacked servers even after they are warned is the real cause.

Pls, I’m begging you, don’t say “SFR did this and that”. I’m from SFR and I did nothing you said. I was fine with the wvw, even with the 1hour-queue on primetime. Everytime someone is referring to SFR by doing this or that, my eyes start to bleed, because it seems, that ppl like to generalise.
It’s just excelled by the suggestion to transfer to an other server :/ I think, no one who says that has ever imagined that he might be in the same situation once.
@Zealoux: that would just be another Bloodlust-Buff and even now they already have problems with it, skilllagg, frozen screens, dc’s… Now imagine 2 of these buffs xDD I guess if this would come, ArenaNet would have no problems again with zergs – ppl would just be so annoyed, that they would quit once and for ever.
I don’t get ppl telling stuff like you did.
Only because some self-proclaimed community-superleaders made guilds come to their server, e.g. giving them money, you don’t have to tell the rest of them it’s there fault, that they have to queue for hours.
I stand in line for 2h and more, but I didn’t want ppl come to my server – we had a nice wvw before season and before these guys came. I don’t even care about achievement or season rewards, I just want my pre-season-status-quo back. But thanks to reducing transfercosts by ArenaNet that will not go in the near future. My only hope is, that we will suck in the season, so the ppl, who came here because of they thought, they can get hold of an easy earned finisher and rewards, just go back where they come from or go to the server they think can get this reward the next time.
I want ppl, telling us to change the server, imagine it WOULD BE there problem, what would you do? If you like your community, your guild, have friends there and queue that are hourslong?!

Because it’s a cash-issue, such changes cost $$$, something ArenaNet doesn’t want to spend, it seems. They know this problem for months but nothing came out of it.
Besides – what’s Arena’s way of earning money? Right, selling stuff like special animated picks, costumes and so on, something WvWler don’t really need. So WHY invest in something, that is considered to give no money back? (Even though WvW is a big figurehead).
I actually like the idea about the NPC patrolling in the keep/ at walls, where you can interact to be rewarded (since I spent 40-70% of my WvW life as scout or upgrading towers/ keeps).
On the other side the thing with zerg meets small zerg and gets a debuff becuase of it – I think this wouldn’t work, just because of technical issues. Even now we have horrible skilllaggs and everytime the bloodlustbuff is activated again or goes from one server to another the laggs are getting worse.
But in an other thread I read about something similiar – rewards should be granted according to zerg-sizes. Like 60 ppl take a keep → the points will be divided by 60… 10 ppl take a keep → points will be divided by 10 and so on (calculation seems a bit harsh, but it would make ppl think about running around with 80+ players).
I would appreciate such changes, but I guess, ArenaNet still has to get better servers or reduce the maximum numbers of players on the maps, before things like this could be happen.
Having an out-of-body experience in WvW isn’t so unusual these days… but I actually found yesterday my bug of the week in LA: logged in, my chara was invisible to me and I couldn’t move (like I know it from WvW), after a few minutes, my chara jumped/ ported to the canal south from mystic forge and was stuck in the wall xD
Even normal PvE has become a challenge to me (for maybe 3 or 4 days now) comparable to WvW. Had a guild mission with my guildies (and we aren’t that many, even 1 zerg in EBG has larger numbers) and skilllaggs, I didn’t know before – I was literally dying to an ascalonian soldier, because I couldn’t move or defend myself xD I now always think a zerg is passing by.
I was wonderung, what will be after season 1 is finished in december… Will we go back to the old system or will season 2 just start right after? Does anybody know? (Maybe I just didn’t read carefully enough.)
Well, I actually didn’t understand why they brought the ruins even up in WvW… WvW is a floating system, where movement is the most important thing. But when I need to stand in a circle for 1 or 2 minutes, I can lose a keep to an organised enemy.
Well, I’m from SFR, and I hope, we will not win, so all the ppl, that came here, because they thought they will get an easy win and the crap-finisher, will just go back where they came from.
I could enjoy WvW on SFR even in Primetime… now it’s just hilarious. I like the community and I have my friends here, but when sitting in queue for like 3hours + I sometimes wish I would be on a T3 server.
Everytime when I read a poste from someone that is home to a T3/ T2 server telling ppl to move to an lower server I like to throw up. You just keep insulting at least half of the population of higher servers. Not everyone has moved there because of the league. Ppl actually might have friends there, they like to play with in wvw. Ever thought of that? I moved to another server a while ago, because I couldn’t stand the atmosphere on my old server anymore, even though it was a hard decisions, but atleast I had friends on an other server. Yeah sure there were queue’s before, but even with bad luck it was only 1h or so. But I had queue like these even on my older T2 server (not as often, but more often than some ppl might think). So DON’T tell me, moving is the key, this is pathetic!
I don’t have a problem with new ppl getting into wvw, no really, I appreciate it. And making WvW more attractive by introducing new achievements is ok, too.
On the other side, ppl were complaining about the match-up system, so A-Net changed it into a league.
But taking both things in combination with buggy queue’s makes ppl react like a melone getting pressed through a hole with the size of an orange – it doesn’t work. Both improvements make ppl want to join WvW, but even before the WvW patrons didn’t even get on the map correctly due to the buggy queue.
So I guess, A-Net didn’t do his homework. We can not blame the new ppl joining wvw (ok, when they only do jp’s it’s annoying, but we can’t change it).
If there is one to blame, than it is A-Net for making these improvements, while knowing, that the WvW they made, isn’t ready for it.
And pls, don’t tell me, I should transfer to an other server, because on Vabbi or whatever is no queue or skilllagg etc. I choose my server, because I have friends and a guild here and I enjoy playing with them WvW (even though I’m not sure, that we will get our guild raids together this week xD).
Oh come on, only because A-Net said something, they will probably do, doesn’t mean
it will actually work out. They just give starving ppl a crumb of bread – I just remember the thing about skill-laggs and balancing etc. Yeah sure, they’re working on it… since how many months?
I honestly do not believe anything anymore coming from A-Net.

I cannot understand the reasoning behind the complicated mathematics that is matchmaking. Make it simle.
3 servers per matchup. 1 win, goes up a tier, one looses, goes down one. simple and effective. I Always thought this should be how it works and was suprised when i found out it didnt.

Very reactive to guilds server hopping or servers getting better/worse fast.
Always balanced tiers.

I’m sure, there would be a lot of people whining about this system, because you play against the same people, for exaple T1 Europe: Elona (just an example) goes one bracket down, but wins and comes up again and so on… you can do what you want, the first and the last two brackets would see no new servers, even with that system.
People always complain about this or that, but they are never satisfied. This wvw-patch was installed one week ago and the first reset was yesterday, but instead of giving it a chance, NOOOO, most of them just sit there and whine.
Some of them wanted balance, some wanted variety, but when ANet gives you the possibility, they say " Sry, but that’s too hard" – its just one week, if they stay e.g. in T2 or T3 with a T5-server for weeks, than they could complain…
