I’ve was thinking there are 2 option for newby to buy PoF:
- 30$ for core+PoF
- 50$ for core+HoT+PoF.
So the question is:
Will the gliding have a marginal role in PoF like in core game?
Gliding is an HoT mastery so i was thinking we will lose, updraft leyline and everything else in new Exp.
The current state of elder dragon.
Zaithan: deceased
Mordremoth: deceased
Jormag: put on sleep
Primordus: put on sleep
Kralkatorrik: Maybe Aurene will take his place.
Steve: Missing in action
Largos seems to be forgotten, so he’s free to corrupt the sea.
So are we near the end of dragon arc?
I think we need a good villain and explore other continent so if they are ending (or pu on hiatus) the dragon arc isn’t a bad thing.
Anyway I definitly hope the villais aren’t the six gods for lore lol.
Would you want to see any changes to Courtyard before it came back? A new mechanic, perhaps?
Just split maps in new pvp game mode (maybe with AP, title, for every mode):
- DeathMatch
- Conquest
- Stronghold
-Any other if you’ll add some more
I think Courtyard was fun ‘cause was mindless, i hope you’ll add more arena like that.
I hope an halfway solution.
When the map is in beta, prestige title and a “easy to get” AP, like now.
When the map is out of beta, a little more grinding AP with more tasks (Have xx win with revenant and other class for example).

Guys…You must be smart with Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock, anyway.
Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock unlocks a skin/dye/mini/bl stuff that you have locked.
Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock have a chance to unlock a white skin, common dye or anything of cheap.
It’s better if you unlock every cheap skin first because you have the same chance, for example, to unlock a fused skin and a wooden sword
Same here >_<
I’m an older player of GW.
I’ve played from prophecies till now, and i’ve remember that in gw1 there are some book that we can play some hero like Gwen or Turai if you purchase them.
So, why don’t bring back the idea?
I think that could be cool we play Rytlock while he tame all the revenant spirit.
Or we play Scarlet while forge the alliance.
Or, at last, we have side mission that get off from the dragon centric theme (ex: Stop a necromancer who learn to use Zaithan’s minion in orr).
This side mission must be purchasable only for cash and not from the gem.
They must be totally optional from dragon centric theme.
And they must have some reward (AP, unique Skin, ecc).
I bet my 2 cent that we will have a BLC Weapon Skin, anyway…
They are trying to drop the price of the older one yet.
I know, it’s really, really, soon, but every part of the Year of the Ascension need a “play 3 match for 15 days” achievement for the meta and the season will stay until Jan 26.
So we need 60 days and we have a 57 days season.
This mean lagendary isn’t time gated, right?
(Sorry for my english)
(edited by nihavel.6592)
Despite people say i feel this event a lot rewarding, ‘cause Gem Store item.
So i think it’s logical they are hard to get, and we can’t get them all.
We must remeber there are people who bought them time ago, too.
The bad ones were the “Hit and run” and the “reaching 10/20 stack then AFKing” philosophy of the event.
Maybe if we get 1/2/3 bloom respectively every bronze/silver/gold event tier done with a larger bloom cap to get the reward from npc, players will stay more time at an event doing it well until the end.
Just wondering what a “normal” reward for these events are. Reason is I got 5 blooms and a chest for each zone. If this is “normal” (non-bugged) than it is far from worth spending 30 minutes to do.
I think was intent like SW reward system.
If you do an event you have some token.
Definitely GW2 hasn’t a grindy philosophy.
No one farm million mob to gain a 0.017%/day in the exp bar, with an Orr Level 80 locked.
I’ve done the game with masterwork equip ed everyone can enjoy pvp and wvw with a low level pg.

Anyway “Dude With Red Tag” can’t say sorry every time if they found problems for a thing we don’t know, and maybe they must delay again and again new feature ’cause they found several problems.
Maybe the concept project of silverwastes have 10 fortess to protect, a legendary spawns in every defence phase and time limit to kill him.
I love silverwastes they bring to us, but that concept project was more challenging and veteran players will rise up despite silverwastes is a good map.
In the worst case develop problem could abort the project “We work in an amazing map!” several month after “no we abort the project, it was too difficult, soz”.
In this case the playerbase could lose respect in arenanet.
The solution is keep the secret and give us the surprise.
-snip-
My question: Do you agree that it’s good to not share that sort of information, information related to the actual direction of the game saga as a whole?
Absolutely. Spoilers/lore, and to some extent, specific details don’t need to go into it. For example:
“We’re working on a new map with a large scale, multiphase, dynamic event requiring a higher degree of teamwork and coordination, because folks have complained about older content being ‘too zergy’.”
This would have been a great way to bring up the Shiverwastes without revealing anything detailed. Yet, it tells us that we’ll be getting new content, what sort of content it is, and even communicates how our feedback has made it to the designers.
Announcing something like this when the zone begins production wouldn’t harm anything. Bringing up details about the mechanics of the new event for feedback/discussion would be a nice extra. (Just to be clear, by discussion, I don’t just mean listening).
I’ll mention (because if I don’t, others will…) that ideally, less open-world PvE and more PvP/WvW/dungeon content would be better, too, e.g.
- “A new map is coming, … and it will have a new 4 path dungeon.”
- “The Living Story in the Shiverwastes will advance, and we’re introducing 2 new Magumma-inspired PvP maps, and a new PvP mode!”
- “Something similar for WvW, maybe some new seige and events!!!”
If so, then my sense is that you want to know more about the nuts and bolts.
- “Are you looking at XXX new feature?”
- “Do you intend to improve ABC functionality?”
- “Is ### working as intended, or is it bugged, or will you incorporate player feedback to change it?”
Again, this is a small part of the discussion, but I wanted to make sure I was looking at that part accurately. I wondered if generally, no one is asking about the whole “Tell us where the story is going” bit.
You got it. The story doesn’t need to be revealed to keep us excited about upcoming content.
Another part of the discussion is that if things are going to be delayed or not updated for a while, let us know when we ask. The silence comes off as manipulative and dishonest, especially when areas of the game continue to be neglected despite player interest.
No they don’t need reveal any feature to us, players.
Why?
’cause they could have some problem while they develop the feature.
You said “We’re working on a new map with a large scale, multiphase, dynamic event requiring a higher degree of teamwork and coordination, because folks have complained about older content being ‘too zergy’.”
Ok, what if they have several problems to develop the map and they need abandon the project?
We player will start complain the new map doen’t show up.
We complain precursor crafting, but we know they will release the feature.
We complain housing, but we know they will release the feature.
We complain SAB but we know they will release new path.
We complain new PVP maps and modes but we know they wll release something.
We complaing expansion but in NCSoft Earnings Report 3Q14 unofficially annunce expansion packs.
So, we don’t need know anything about their work in progress, we must wait release.
“Just beyond release”… Actually Beyond was far longer than LS1, and far more lore-centered…
Every dragon their expansion? I want to know the whole story yet waiting 15 years to complete a game is a bit… Too much, is it not?
Yes, Beyond was more lore centered, but i’m not sure for “longer”.
I’ve complete both in few days in a whole run and few hours to complete every release, like LS1 & 2 after all.
Anyway WoW has 10 years and still alive and destiny devs said game will live for 10 years… Only ArenaNet Devs knows when we will have whole story in own hands. It’s a “problem” of every online game.
Have we forgotten the Guild Wars beyond content they started but gave up on that was going to help bridge the link between GW1 and GW2?
The did release War in Kryta which showed the White Mantle being overthrown and Queen Salma (Queen Jennah great-great grandmother) take the thrown and they did make Wind of Change based in Cantha. Then they gave up and focus all their attention on GW2. all this happened 2 years-ish or so before GW2 came out.
LS have same role of “beyond” in gw1, after all.
There wasn’t any Utopia after EotN. So 5 years of nothing.
I enjoyed beyond contents (I’ve loved war), but you must read significant contents like an expansion.
Like i said before, i prefer an expansion every 1.5/2 years that all in 2 years and than nothing for years and years.
Anyway, if anyone played GW from start must remember there aren’t any title system from start and it had several change, and with EotN (aug 2007) until GW2 release (aug 2012) there was years of nothing (just beyond release).
5 years of nothing.
I prefer a well-time-distribute expansion (‘cause i’m sure every dragon have an own expansion) instead a all-in-2-years-than-nothing GW1.
They’re adding new AP in every patch, and sometime they update older AP (For example: Black lion Weapon collection, only 3 AP/set, i doubt they will stay 3 AP forever.)
in the end of season 2 they will add a mini-expansion-like or a true expansion in the game.
In the future the could rethink 10.000 AP daily cap.
I think next september we have someone with full AP armor set around tyria.
I think this LS season is a prologue for a new expansion, anyway.
I’m not still sure Zaithan is dead, anyway.
You can freely destroy them.
They were unlocked in your wardrobe, too.
Maybe we could use the new playable ghost race in next expansion.
LOL.
Looking the ‘’The Eternal Alchemy’’ cutscene, i’m pretty sure each Elder Dragon is a champion of a greater entity.
http://it.tinypic.com/r/141839j/8
We have 6 orbs, each for every elder dragon, (blue, green, white, black, red, pink), several empty circle ( maybe unawakened dragon in other lands) and one big in the center that rule the other six.
In the game we have first “cross-corruption” a plant-risen wolf
http://it.tinypic.com/r/mbh1zr/8
and the inquests in coe works for subject alpha
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Subject_Alpha
In the wiki subject alpha use skill from 3 different dragon.
Maybe the Ancient dragon (?) have the ability to use every corruption of every dragon to create a definitive minion, and the inquest works to create one in labs.
We can see zaithan corruption on the scarlet corpose.
http://it.tinypic.com/r/2lihe94/8
Maybe scarlet now is corrupted by Mordremoth and zaithan, making a step forward to the first ancient dragon (?) minion.
Anyway:
-Zaithan is alive, The black orb is in the cutscene, so it can corrupt the world anymore.
Sorry for my rusty english anyway.
(edited by nihavel.6592)
Arenanet uses LS to keep us playing.
But i don’t think it will work any longer without an expansion.
1) Why did Scarlet want to get Mai on the council? (would she just approved straight away a giant drill in LA?)
2) Why did Scarlet have a hatred towards humans?
3) Why did she attack the queens Jubilie and try to kidnap the queen?
4) Did Mai escape? Did she return for the battle in LA?
5) Why did Scarlet need an army? (the only thing I see she needed was the Nightmare and Krait to get the Miasma)
6) What did she know about Caithe?
7) Who is E?
1) Scarlet, with Mai in the council, had a chance to reduce the resistance of the lionguard in LA during the invasion.
2) She was under the Jungle dragon influence. (speculation: silvary are jungle dragon minions, pale tree have a good influence thanks Ronan and Ventari “corruption”)
3) Scarlet was aiming to the Watchknight
4) we don’t know where are Mai and Canach too.
5) She need an army to invade LA and she gave new minion to the other elder dragon, too.
My speculation: We forge a bound between race.
Only Human, charr, silvary, asura and norn have enough power to defeat a dragon.
We don’t know if Zhaitan is really dead, (maybe he is alive in palawa joko domain to gain back his force) but we hit him really hard and destiny’s edge had a chance to kill another one (Kralkatorrik)
So elder dragons use their champion to forge alliance between the race against us.
6) We don’t know.
7) we don’t know.
sorry for my rusted english anyway.
I suppose scarlet works for the dragons to give them new minions.
Molten alliance is perfect with primordius.
Toxic alliance is perfect jungle dragon.
Maybe in future we will have new alliance.
I want everything to remain in game for at least a month. So they can release content every two weeks by all means but have that content remain in game for at least month so that people don’t have to rush things or miss out on content because they have a busy couple of weeks at work or go on vacation.
Anyway we must not forget every LS, become a ghost town soon.
The Crown Pavilion was empty since the 1st day clockwork chaos goes live, for example.
2 week are enough.
You can do tower of nightmare really fast whitout nerding, so i don’t understad why we must have this LS for a month, for example.
No, Zhaitan is dead, devs annunce his death in some interview.
Hey chris, are you ready for release of an expansion?
I know you will not give me an answer, ‘cause surely you don’t waste the “bullet” here and the annunce will implement in a living story in the future.
I’m telling this ’cause (talking with my friends and guildmates) i realize when a player hit 8000 AP he starting become bored of the game cause he usually do all non-griding contents.
Living story have the role to “charm” players to log in 1 times every 2 weeks at least, but, if you don’t release an expansion LS will lose its work, LS by LS.
See. Now we are getting down to it. You came to the conclusion that because I’m doing something, I must therefore enjoy it.
The fact is that I don’t really like the AP system. It outs too much focus on rewards then it does fun. The reason I “want” to get AP is because that is currently how the game is designed.
I “want” gold/gear/laurels and so in order to do that, I must play the game as ANet has designed it. For example, I don’t like doing dailies because I find them to be a waste of time, yet I want laurels.
So, ANet sees me log in, complete dailies and decides I must enjoy it.
If you want daily laurel you must do only 5 tasks. It take 20/30 min or less.
AP chest isn’t rewarding in long term.
My bank is plenty of canisters, orbs and other things and my wallet have 4500+ badge.
So you can avoid today daily AP “get 2 wvw level rank” (like i will do) if you’re playing only for laurel and you hate AP system.
GuildWars 1 was advertised in part by developers claiming that they were against the concept of grinds as a way to encourage player participation.
3 words:
Friend of luxon
Anyway i love your new philosophy “i want do this so i’m not interest in other objective.”
What made you conclude that I liked the AP system? Can you provide an example of where I said this?
Here!
I play a lot of Crab Toss.
In fact, I play so much that I almost have all the AP’s complete. By your logic, I am a satisfied customer, and anyone looking at my log in stats could conclude I love me a game of Crab Toss. Right?
Wrong! I detest that game. I walk away from that game feeling cranky and frustrated almost every time. I get so bloody bored that the only way I can even get through the games is to put on a movie, or listen to music. So…why do I play so much then?
Because, despite my dislike for it, I want AP, XP, and achievement completion.
Does this make sense, or is the concept lost on you?
if you don’t enjoy AP system and since you hate some feature (like crab toss) but you are playing them as well a question rise in my mind:
(edited by Moderator)
DusK,
I’m sorry, but I’m not sure you’re fully understanding the position you’re taking here. You said,
“Something in the game was actually satisfying enough to make you log in and play the game for a while. ANet’s mission: Accomplished.”
You couldn’t be more wrong. This is exactly, to the tee, the faulty logic I am talking about. You’re concluding that someone performing an action means they actually enjoy that action.
Here is an example for you.
Does this make sense?
You dislike Crab Toss, but you enjoy AP system.
This prove DusK was right.
I dislike SAB and Gauntlet: I hate jump system in this game in first case, and my main is an ele and gauntlet was pretty hard in the second one.
Result: My living story are almost empty for both category.
I belive they must annunce an expansion very soon, anyway.
I’ve realize when someone hit 8000 AP , player lose interest in the game ‘cause he/she has seen almost all main feature that doesn’t implement grinding.
Living story are a nice add, but living story system will collapse if they doesn’t add major content soon.
(edited by Moderator)
That’s just Caithe’s face. She, and nobody else, has these marks, and she always had them.
Oh! You right.
I’ve forgot the original Caithe art, too.
She have hair on her head, while ingame she have leaf, so i get wrong.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/2/2b/Caithe_04_concept_art.jpg
I’m not sure that’s it a silvary-centric lore.
If you enlarge the image you can see “strange” green marks in her forehead.
This marks are looks like the eyes of margonite.
So i guess 3 option:
- It’s the ultimate godness form of Kormir, or a margonite with kormir influence.
- It’s a largo without a mask, (marks are gills)
- It’s halloween after all. it’s only a member of lunatic court.
I hope the queen say, “in next X month we must attack another elder, but we can’t do alone, we must engage other race” and next living world are “new race-centric” so players can empathize with them.
This will be a cool technique to introduce next expansion and next race.
Anyway a question for devs:
There are any achievement in The Queen’s Speech living story?
(sorry for my rusty english)
I’m going on a 3 week holiday soon, which means that I’ll miss one of the two week cycles. I play GW2 because I didn’t want to date a videogame and I’m not starting now.
If your priority is GW2, then stay at your own home. It’s easy.
Here’s a thought, so just stick with me here. There are 6 dragons, 6 gods(including the former human Kormir)
*Zaithan=Grenth
Primordus=Balthazar
Kralkatorrik(sp?)=Lyssa
Jormag=Dwayna
Jungle Dragon=Melandru
Deep Sea Dragon= Kormir/ would have been Abbadon
Giant magical beings worshipped as gods, not really hard to see how it could work. Of course it’s not hard to imagine that each dragon could be each gods arch-nemesis.
I await the criticism for my abstract though.
I think there is a mistake.
I guess Zaithan use Dwayna power and Jormag use Grenth power.
Dwayna is the godness of Life, so risen (like the name of category minion say) are rise in a new life by the power of Dwayna used by zaithan.
A dragon with grenth’s power will use minion like creature of UW (aatxe or similar) or iced creature.
Grenth is the god of ice, so jormarg has a perfect role with his power.
DSD have/use Mellaggan power, maybe.
Human doesn’t revere and belive in Mellagan because they are a land race, but it doesn’t mean that she don’t exist
We know quaggan belive in mellaggan, maybe largos too.
Kormir’s dragon maybe will show in a Elona campain, ‘cause i’ve read somewhere Tyria (the continet) have 6 dragon, but the other continent could have dragons too.
Anyway sorry for my rusty english.
Sorry for my rough english.
Anyway, if any of you did’t notice yet, they release something new every month.
A new player, who log in for the first time today in the game, didn’t play the karka madness quest.
Anyway, he will play the quest related for the island in the future, and now he can enjoy frost and flame.
The game is constantly under development and they add persistent content, too.
Remember first months from release.
Everyone were only in cursed shore for karma farming. This were the endgame.
Now we can play fractal, gain laurels and new variety of daily , play 8bit world (i think it will be a persistent content in the end,’cause we can play only world1), do guild quest, and other things will come (ex: bar brawl)
i think that Arenanet have lernt from the error done in gw1.
Anyway sesonal event will come when the respectively holiday come, like every MMO (and i hope with some new feature and not a " it’s-the-same-of-the-last-year" like gw1).
sorry for my rough english…
Anyway, if u follow the storyline you will have some clue for the next playabile race.
Tengu race, following the game, will be, surely, added in a next tyrian expansion.
They were exiled (with all the non-human race) by the new imperor of chanta (this is an information from GW1 and some interwiew, this isn’t a spoiler) and in a starting zone (1-15) of the game you will find a tengu saying they are building an asura gate in LA connected with their capital.
Anyway, I’ve found other clues with two more race in the game with an high percentage to be playable.
Guardian are a mix of monk and paragon, and, Engineer replace the ritualist so i don’t think they will return, as we know them now at last.
And i really hope they will do largos playable maybe in underwater campain.
They are really cool.
