I think the concept is great and im happy they did that, but the balance is puré crap. Its bunker wars all over again….
Like most people already said, he was the main pillar to pvp, to community pvp tourneys and pve also.
For now we will probably get the fruits of what he was working on but after that i dont see a very bright future for pvp without him :/

OP’s suggestion is still stupid and would essentially destroy condi as a viable playstyle.
Condi would still be played. When you apply condi your already doing direct damage, not every skill would be able to clean damaging condis, so the opponent would need to carefully decide when to use his damaging condi clean, meanhwhile you could kite with movement condis (like how the terrormancer from 3 years ago worked). I always thought condi would be damage over time and not direct compete with burst damage. So the point would be balancing all condi clean skills to this condi overhaul.
so resistance isnt the 100% direct counter to condi builds.
Except necros because fear is a condi.

I approve this. It will make a good necro able to at least put up a fight on a 1v1 vs a warrior for example.
Also this is already kinda online with stuff like the Withdraw (Healing skill from Thief). It will promote less condi skills spam since the most damaging condis can be cleansed right away and with the resistance you can still be crowd controlled, so resistance isnt the 100% direct counter to condi builds.
Overall there are too many builds that have far too much of everything.
I am fine with players having access to;
1) stealth
2) teleports
3) Invulnerability
4) snares
5) instant spike damage
6) Blocks
7) Condition removal
8) interrupts
9) Stun breaks
10) Pets
11) super speed
12 En masse boonsMy issue is when one build can have 90% of all of this and in limited cases 100%.
It forces a situation that if a player can have all of this, they’d be stupid not to use it.
Ergo the same meta professions and builds prevail and the game becomes stagnant.
Thats exactly the problem, the power creep is associated with this, the mechanics introduced with HOT. They didn’t just increased the power output, they gave stuff that the original class didn’t had. So what happens they have access to all kinds of stuff and not just minor things, onpar with things that other classes had specific roles to it. So instead of we maybe want a bruiser so i need to go with that class i can just go with whatever and be a bruiser that has more mobility and more damage….
But OP points some stuff, condition damage is way too powerfull, but oh! theres only 3 classes in 9 that have condi meta builds!, so youre clearly wrong ecs dee…. Obviously that there are classes that were made in mind to deal with condis, and well, you only require 1 stat to improve your condi damage! so i can do normal damage and do really good condi damage without loosing much. Another point would be just look at the changelog and watch how it balanced itself, more spamming different conditions, more condi cleanses. Guardian can only use burn, with so many condi cleans, do you think it will be ever viable to have a condi guardian? No, not like this, because the only solution that anet sees is probably just put more conditions that guardian can use, i mean if they really want to give diverse playstyles to each class, wich you wont be seeing until near the next expansion….
Every class needs an overhaul FROM SCRATCH! The game is to a degree enjoyable now with every class being played at high level but if they want to give more playstyles for each class, let the viewer actually understand all the cluster of special effects on the screen, maybe, just maybe they should actually rebuild their class specializations and retune the original class.
There had been community organized weekly tournaments for a long time.
The problem is not that we don’t have people facilitate team competition. It is that we are totally in lack of teams.
I don’t think there should be any problem organizing such events as a community as long as there is enough interest
The only teams that go for community organised competitions are people who want to go pro. The rest of the community, who DON’T want to go pro, also need an outlet to play with their friends. It’s not just about competition. A Ranked Team queue separate from Solo Q with it’s own MMR is required. These people played ranked and will play ranked team queue because they feel that the word “ranked” represents more competition even if they are not going to go to Pro League. They just want to “feel” like they are competing. If they went to unranked, they wouldn’t feel that.
Providing for those people isn’t hard and won’t detract from anything else that the community offers.
If they want for fun they still have unranked, i dont think they will do the same that they will do for ranked. I guess having another queue for only 5 man matches in ranked is better, but not letting them progress in the same leaderboard as a solo player is key, its really unfair. Example, imagine i am super good, and i have another friend who is really good too, but then we have a third guy who is really bad and is a clicker at that. We queue all 3 all the time and we will matches because me and the other guy are really good, so we are carrying our other friend. In the end do you think that guy that got carried by us deserves to be in the top 100 players?
So the best to do would be have separate queues for teams and different leaderboards for teams too.

It can be abused. People could whisper players about the other teams overall position and performance on the map. Heck they could buy a free account incase all forms of communications is blocked during watching the game and u’d still get spies relaying the above and more. And if A-net somehow prevented the same IP from having 2 account online at the same time somehow. They are still tons of other services, programs to communicate over vast distances.
I don’t think this is a good idea. Heck it’s not even spies. U can have an player who is good command the entire team as the unknown 6th member.
I’m pretty sure if they ever implement such of thing of watching randomn ranked games you would watch them with delay. What i mean by that is if you do the same thing as in Smash for Wii U where you are watching other games that were recorded from a while ago. And this “recording” woudnt be like a video file, but a section of data regarding position, when the player uses their skils and etc, being each match file way smaller than if it was actually recorded with video capture.
I agree with you, except that im sure when the devs said about splitting was in the sense of not changing how your skills perform, but instead change the coeficients of them. Understand it as a skill that before was doing 2 stacks of bleeding for 6 secs, now does 3 stacks of bleeding for 4 secs.
So when you enter a squad taxi, example for triple trouble wurm and you enter that map you start to get a weird heavy frame rate drop with an interval of probably 2 to 3 secs. So every 3 secs you get a 0fps for a half second continuously as long as you are in the map. If i join the map via not a squad but for example a party taxi i won’t get this bug. I thought this was on my end only since it started like 2 weeks ago but my friend recently had the exact same thing, so it seems it can happen to everyone.
Also another test i made, if i join the map via squadjoin on a almost empty map before it gets really crowded i won’t get the bug….
Have anyone experienced this?
Necro is more dead than ever, the gap now is quite big because of how high the power creep is…. There is still so much cc in this game and yet they nerf one of our biggest options to sustain on it….
To be honest i don’t mind necro getting nerfed this way, my problem is how the other classes didn’t got nerfed…. the game has been for so long no more fun to play, but i still have hope they revert it to how it was before hot. If i ever knew this would happen i would never ever had bought heart of thorns, and don’t care what ppl say about elementalist meta time, but that was the time when every class had a chance (except ranger) and one of the high points in viewership in gw2 history…

Celestial is not an issue, and even Cele Necro isn’t that powerful. It’s good, but most of that “ridiculous condition damage” is just stronger condition class’s stuff getting thrown back at them.
Cele Ele’s issue is ENTIRELY an Ele issue.
No one else uses Celestial.
Use your brain and a little logic. Ele is the issue, not a kitten amulet. Fix the real issues, stop breaking perfectly fine things because of one unrelated issue.
If you read what i wrote i never said that the amulet was the the one thing that was broken. What instead i proposed is to remove the amulet to artificially nerf the ele.
But if you want the proper and definitive nerf to the hell, then be my guest and wait 1 year till they fix fire ele.
The problem isn’t the amulet itself. I’m surprised people still think it’s the amulet even though celestial engineer is no longer a thing after IP was moved to firearms.
The problem is that no build should be the best at everything. Take celestial D/D ele for example. An ele that chooses to spec Fire instead of Earth should have significantly reduced power damage reduction compared to Earth spec. This can be easily achieved by increasing the ICD of blinding ashes to 12s (as I’ve suggested on multiple threads). Likewise, an ele speccing into three defensive lines (earth, water, arcana) should suffer from reduced damage output, both power and condi. Now the power damage output of this spec isn’t anything ridiculous, but the burn output definitely needs looking at (either an overall burn nerf or changes to the burn application skills, or even a combination of both).
Thats the thing, but by removing the amulet ur nerfing their biggest spec. My solution was to temporarly remove if they cant find a quick fix for the ele.
I agree remove the celestial SIGNET! Leave the amulet though.
Cmon celestial necro isn’t op. The build Nos popularized isn’t all that tanky…. There are tanky variants but you sacrifice either a ton of crit chance and lf or you sacrifice weakness uptime, boon corrupts/or terror, and your auto condi transfer.
This is the most balanced I’ve seen Necromancers EVER in this game. There is only heavy condi pressure against heavy condi builds

You can use a rabid amulet for example as it covers ur condi pressure, crit chance and tanky statement you said.
If you don’t know how to nerf fire ele, please remove celestial amulet until you learn how to. I don’t bother the fire damage, im bothered at how much survivality they get and losing so little of what their class can do.
I also know that necro has a great spotlight with the amulet but as it is my main i dont even care as long as it promotes a less toxic community as it already is. Necros are already used to nerfs.

With shroud knight youre trading range for more power so i guess its a fair trade, but if youre talking about conflict of finishers i dont think you can pierce with a melee attack also so there seems that the traits are subject to be changed

I’m sure this has been asked quite a lot, but with the upcoming expansion will we see an upgrade from dx9 to dx11 or even dx12?
I’m not talking about graphic improvements but multi threading optimization that comes from dx11 since this is an mmo after all and there is a lot to rely on your cpu, wich today normally is usually 4 threads or above.
I am lvl 42 and today the first time after patch i’ve tried spvp and in 10 unranked games i have only gained 1 and from those only 2 games i’ve felt were balanced. 4 of those were against full coordinated teams.
I think something is wrong here….

We have a good chance to get it, it is essentially a non-permanent Shade. Gain Defiance Bar on entering DS (lose it if you exit DS), a more counter-able version of Shade.
I kinda thought a similar way of this, but more like, you scratch the deathshroud abilities, and instead of “transforming” into deathshroud, you just get a coat wich is using life force as defiance and you retain your utilities and weapon skills with swap ability also while in the coat of deathshroud. Ofc this would need to rework almost all skills to rebalance this and like giving 400 toughness while using the coat or something, but i would be way happier with something like this than what we have now.

It just saddens me that i cant even go full healing trait line for a healing support build with necro. I know this probably shoudnt be the priority in fixes with necro, but ive been playing necro since the beginning and now im trying to some weird stuff to keep it fresh in a time where there is nothing new to do. :S
So i was trying to make a bunker/healing support build for pve and stumble upon this trait wich lets you siphon health from a mob who is within the well boundaries. This skill does not scale with power or healing power and so it only heals you for 60hp per tick per enemy. So if you manage to get 5 enemies inside the well with well of suffering wich is the well with the most ticks(6) you can get a max of 60*5*6=1800 healing done, in the best case possible and only for you. I don’t get it the usefulness of this trait for being a grandmaster trait, i mean, even Transfusion wich is an adept trait is way more useful and it scales with healing power even only healing your party members by up to 5k.
Is there something im not seeing about this? Is there some synergy that is worth to do for it to be useful?
yea everyone has an had an fps drop, i think it has something to do with the UI cause when you make it disappear your fps goes back to what it was. this game has been unplayable for a lot of people since patch

Since you have target of the weak why not switch well of corruption to signet of spite, because even well of corruption isnt that good for pve.
I also have the same problem not as profound as those reporting here but i have around 30’s when i usually had 50-60 fps and also have an amd video card.
If it helps finding the problem , hiding the UI makes the game smooth again as it should be.
This works for me too so its defintly some overlay problem.
I have done both can’t knock me down and untouched by maw and claw achievements at world summit story and when trying to do Mote Master i noticed that there is no challenge mote to start the achiev.
There was a thread with something similar 3 months ago so i wonder if im the only one with this bug?
I guess this show that anet is actually looking into the necro class. Maybe this shows that the support is finally coming?
I’m having this issue since the last update but im from Europe – Portugal.
Before i didnt have any problems whatsoever, but after last update im having a lot of dc for no reason.
For example i’m playing Dragon Ball perfectly and all of a sudden i had no response on the abilities and got disconnected after a few seconds. I log in as soon as i get disconnected start playing fine and happens after a few minutes. Is this a ISP problem? i dont think so, as other games don’t give me this issues.
I use this build more for solo play, but you can still use it in groups unorganized.

The bases are there in the Curses trait for what you are looking for, but you can always switch everything to how you play. For example you could switch rabid to sinister stats and rely more on your team to give you might instead of the signets use.
Most ppl here will say my build sucks but the build is build around in how i like to play a conditionmancer.
I apologize for my ignorance as i didn’t knew about the restraints that the servers have with the calculations, thow after 2 years it is still unacceptable this haven’t got fixed.
I kinda like Distate’s idea, but every class would get dramatic changes and it would take a lot of years to anet to do it considering how slow they work.
Also this is clearly a problem in how anet prioritizes their objectives. I wouldn’t mind having to wait 3 or 4 months with no new content whatsoever if that meant to fix this pve problems. As a conditiomancer i feel so useless when in dungeons i notice that i don’t provide decent damage compared to my other party members, and so I’ll have to resort the only way to play in groups in this game which to me feels boring.
If anet in 2 years havent done nothing in that regard, i doubt this expansion will, so keep your berserker gear as its going to stay.
Also it’s not a hard problem to solve, you could simple give each player his own stacks of conditions on the enemy with the same cap and scale the damage ticks down to match that of a “similar” power build as conditions are only a problem in group player, nothing else. Perhaps there are other problems this would involve but for a quick fix this would work just fine. WoW already did it many years before… but dunno… maybe this is patented?!?!?
I like this kinda of builds and i always thought that was the most interesting aspect of gw2 to let ur favorite class do whatever you want (in theory).

That isn’t a bug because it is not a true transform, they only borrowed some transform coding because it is partly a transform. If it was a full transform it would kill all our minions, so if you want it to have all the properties of transforms people are not going to like the consequences.
Inconsistencies happen because of how they coded the game. Same as why some skills that have no apparent projectiles can still be reflected (right now you can still reflect Mesmer staff 2, despite it having nothing to do with projectiles, for example), same as plenty of other things. Yet they try to fix an inconsistency, like DS having different CDs depending on how you leave it, and we moan about it.
It is supposed to have a 10s CD, that’s all the fix is about. It has nothing to do with nerfing us at all, that is only a consequence, not a cause.
And thats why everyone is upset about it. It cripples a bit more the necromancer, now that we just received a nerf not too long ago.
They should have fixed it on the upcoming balance class fix instead of now.
