dying to a p/p+d/d thief is “playing differently”, the more you know!
This actually doesn’t apply at all in PvP, because it actively brings down the entire team when someone zones in with something so terrible. It’s the equivalent of deciding to AFK.
Now, in PvE, if someone wants to go into a group with a terrible build and the group is okay with it, whatever. The content is easy, anyway.
even on lower end ( ~20 ) fractals, if someone has a bad build things can to south pretty easily
also weird/“bad” builds can work well in soloq/pug teamqs as long as you play it decently and fill some sort of role
spirit weapon guard though…
I had a 4v5 today too, that then turned into a 4v4, and then a 3v3, and then a 2v2. I don’t know if it was because of this but it was pretty hilarious
what skills are those?
all kit skills on engie and conjured weapon skills on ele, and I think some utilities if you cast them with weapons already stowed but I’m not sure about that
there’s probably some more too
Can you let us buy crafting tokens for gold? Half my inventory is full of mats that I can’t do anything with since I spent all my glory on salvage kits.
everything is constantly adjusting to your power/condi damage, starting 100b and getting might or applying vuln half way through will still up the damage for the rest of the channel, same with applied conditions
Additionally, with that same ranger fight and many others, I notice that the #2 skill in the down state sometimes doesn’t apply fear to the correct player. I was using the #1 skill on the ranger but when I hit #2 to fear him, his pet got feared when the ranger was the target the entire time and had no stability!?!
Is there something I am doing wrong?

Because if evades were to not work while immobilized, immobilize would be an instant win vs thief, who has absolutely no way to clear immobilize. It’s already strong enough because you make the thief waste initiative. It’s working as intended.

Most duels are done without stacks, where the only inbalance might be bloodlust, which is at most 60 stats.
so you’re saying power of the mists aka more vitality, endurance regen, and healing power, doesn’t help at all and the only imbalance is from guard stacks?
What I understand you proposed is the exact oposite, the experienced players gets better stats/abbilities
According to this nonsense in soccer for example thebetterwith more game hours team will get additional 2 players, smaller goal, and a free eleven penalty before the game starts. Unfortunatly this is how most of the mmo games work.

WvW 1v1’s are never fair, adding utility skills wouldn’t be so far fetched imo, maybe a WvW signet that makes stun do damage overtime and have increased duration? or maybe 500+ power when wielding a hammer?

I think they need to do 1 of the 2. There is no reason to have 4 seconds with the small burst thieves do in spvp. 3 seconds would make it much more balanced.
How is thief burst is “small” in sPvP? I deleted my thief a week ago or so, but I could burst people down quite easily. With minimum game-sense it’s not particularly hard to survive without stealth either.
Wouldn’t this decrease lag on servers? Not only that but it’ll make ppl care about their bloodlust stacks instead of mob rushing with 25stacks, dying and rebuilding them in 3 minutes. Like, do we really need pve mobs in a pvp zone? The only AI there should be are guards/lords and such, not doe’s and moa’s.
Yeah, mobs need to go. Not only is it annoying seeing people kill mobs to stack up bloodlust/corruption/etc instead of doing something productive, but people can also rally off the kitten things like Solstice said. They could do what they did in PvP and make each player kill account for 5 stacks, and guards for 1.
Aetherblade and Magitech hides toes, and cultural t1 but only the light ones IIRC. Kind of annoying in my opinion.

if they wanted WvW to be a “serious PvP activity” they would’ve balanced it like sPvP from the get-go
