I cannot believe it’s still like this, it’s sad. I haven’t played the game in almost 2 years now, but I was on since beta. I once made a few legendaries, OMFG I had to go see a doctor and buy a new mouse. not kidding. you’d think having a selector like in the crafting window would be a common sense update, but really, after all these years still nothing? I may be having memory leak issue. all I know is that for almost a year now I cannot play the gam an hour or two without a BSOD or lock up. the best part is that it happens every single day, but almost never during a heavy battle or load. 95%of the time it happens when my character is just sitting idle somewhere. this has been and issue across two different main SSD/hard drives and two graphics cards. at first I thought it could be overclock on my cpu or memory speed to high, but it happens at stock too and if my ram is set to 1333mhz or 1600mhz which are pretty base for DDR3. my specs:
i7 4770k
16GB 2400mhz ram
GTX 970 (same crap with my R9 290 and GTX 780)
Samsung 830 128GB SSD
Gigabyte Z87X UD4H
I can play or idle in every other game I have (over 120 games installed) for hours, maybe days and not a single one causes my pc to crash or lock up.
this is not a psu issue or and AMD issue. I am having this too. this past month the game locks up and crashes my pc evey single time I play it within an hour. I have a i7 4770k, 2400mhz ram, Gigabyte Z87X UD4H, 128GB Samsung 830 SSD and currently a GTX 970. I’m using a HX 750 psu I had for year through many far more taxing setups. I’d like to get an idea wtf is going on as it’s incredibly annoying.
the guide make it easy to get 30 unique heirlooms. for the event credit, the event has to pass. you don’t need to stay there, but it’s obviously easier to ensure you get credit if you do. the moa event must see all 7 still alive when they reach the destination. I am having an interesting issue myself. today I finished the meta and did not receive the barrel with 100 bags. guess I made the topic in the wrong section because it’s got a bunch of gawkers and no reply.
TL:DR, “not even I get the real problem, the root of this and many other problems, that can’t and definitely won’t be fixed by simply nerffing the effectiveness of the game’s most popular stat combo.” there was a time (long time in fact) where zerk wasn’t the main thing everybody ran. people naturally settled into that groove because of the lazy design of all PVE encounters and the short sighted design of combat mechanics in GW2. no point or value in running anything else, and the cause for that will not be addressed by screwing over stats on gear people grind for and center builds around.
they simply don’t care. the pursuit of these weapons, that like T3 cultural are merely good for a skin, has without a doubt provided insane profits in their gem store. yes, devs would like the game to be fun and reasonable (though this one aspect isn’t even close) but it’s still a business. requiring stupid amounts of gold for weapon skins is profitable. oh, and this RNG kitten is terrible to say the least.
hah, same thing happened to me in cursed shore. lost around 10 minutes of game progress. found some nice mats, gone. discovered a vista and 2 skill points, gone. was inside temple of grenth and now it’s not even discovered on my map.
just watched my bro in a group doing AC. kholer was floating in the air. then he died (more accurately he vanished into thin air while still having some HP left) and left no loot, no silver and gave no exp. lol, that definitely needs some looking at by the devs.
this fight has been full of bugs since the very first time I’ve done it. no skull icon, no beam visualizing on screen, no sound sometimes, getting killed with reflection crystal in hand (guess it’s better to just dodge). also, is it a bug when the thing targets you (me) 7 times in a row? no kidding, this happens on almost every run.
and the ghost eater takes way longer to kill now thanks to the new mechanics. the fight was CoF level mindless before. I honestly haven’t noticed kholer, spider queen or any end boss having less HP. mostly because they were never a problem anyway. they seem to die in the same amount of time. kholer also seems to do next to no damage now. certainly alot less than he did before. what’s up with that? supposed to be more challenging right?
the old AC was fine. the final bosses needed new mechanics, but that was it. I find it fine now after getting used to the changes, but I still feel that these changes were pointless and the mission of making the end bosses more challenging/better is still not accomplished. path 1 boss may as well be exactly the same as before. the only strategy you need still is to whack him in the kitten until his HP runs out. path 2 and three were so bugged (fixed now) but the third one can still be crazy as NPC AI is horrible and he doesn’t always use his shield at the right time. if anything, maybe they should have implemented these changes in a new “hard mode” or something. I still think Anet simply wanted to trim down the AC traffic, which they have definitely accomplished with the update.
the dungeon that needs immediate and big revamping is that ridiculous CoF. path 1 is literally (no exaggeration here) 7-10 minutes with a moderately slow group and with the ever popular 1 mesmer/4 warrior zerker party, it’s as quick as 4 minutes. it’s a total joke. path 2 was better until the change at the spot where you have to buy time for magg. it was somewhat of a challenge before, but no longer. path 3 is also very easy imo.
it’s always deny, deny, but sure as hell after the update to fotm I haven’t gotten a single ascended or exotic anything, whereas before, I got plenty. an ascended on every daily run. now, nothing. I thought I had done lvl 10 too much, but I’m at 20 now, and the green and blue junk just keeps coming. no point in even doing fotm without getting ascended gear and mist essence (which no longer drops for me either). sad panda.
I agree that these pointless changes ruined AC. though, I feel that kholer is way too easy now. the adds he spawns die quick and kholer seems to do no damage to us. it was always easy, but now it feels too easy, while everything else in the dungeon feels too hard. hatchlings seem to have more hp now. every kitten gravelings does leaping attack/knockdown attack. fps goes to single digits at a few places. it’s quite a mess. maybe Anet just wants to drive traffic away from everybody’s favorite dungeon for some reason. can’t see how any group that has level 35-45 players will pass this dungeon now. the only things in this dungeon that needed such drastic work were the bugs on path 2. bravo glorious developer, you did nothing about that. that is all folks, have a nice day.
I spent a good 200K karma in addition to all the karma jugs I got back on the chests yesterday. I got a variety of drops such a 2 mini pets (duplicates), 2 tonics that turn me into an earth elemental, Destroyer cores, several obsidian shards, Lodestones, and a crap load of “unidentified” garbage.
Edit: forgot to mention this was from the karma vendor next to Arah on Borlis Pass server.
lucky you. I bought about 50 boxes and got a single obsidian shard.
Today the veteran slayer achievement wasn’t getting credit when I killed veteran mobs. It took about 14 (yes) veteran kills for me to make the 5 required to finish my daily. After the daily reset, the achievements are exactly the same (veteran slayer, aquatic slayer, daily healer, daily gathering and daily events) and the veteran slayer is still not getting credit. About half the ones from the earlier try were in Cursed Shore (though 6 were not and 4 of those I did solo) and the possibility of the zerg and other characters getting credit is understandable. Now after the reset I solo two veteran mobs in Diessa Plateau (veteran minotaur and veteran devourer) and there were no players anywhere around and guess what? NO credit toward the daily. But gathering, healer and events are done fine. What is going on? I made a ticket last week about getting 100% map completion in Cursed Shore and getting NOTHING for it. No chest, no nothing, but it hasn’t been answered yet. A few days before I got an empty chest in Bloodtide Coast. I’ve been hit with various other bugs in the past month.
