Surprisingly, I’m seeing no one using the Throw Mine. The toolbelt has a potential 5 boon removal, does ~600 each (when they all crit they can do upwards to 7-8k with the right build), and if you have the gadgeteer GM trait, with gadget cooldown, you can get aegis every 14.5 seconds, unblockable knockback with a boon removal.

Did I miss something? Since when is there a boon removal on the Minefield? These mines as well as the ones from Bunker Down are only explosive devices…

Cool but confusing. I would prefer to know exactly how much damage I’m doing with every jet.

Have a look in your combatlog, there is the you can se your damage for each hit with the ft.

Well I just tested the Fortified Turrets trait and yes you can stand in the bubble and be protected.

This is a big concern for my kit using engineer. Any dev would like to clearify this statement better? Not only for engineers, but for everyone cause what happens if someone picks up a Elementalist’s elemental weapon? Do they lose their stacks?

I don’t think it would affect you at all. As far is I understood, you will loose your stacks only if you unequip your weapon, that is if you take it out of its weaponslot and back into your inventory. Swapping to another weapon without removing your previous weapon will have no effect. Since you don’t remove your weapon while swapping to kits, you should keep your stacks.

Is it really that hard for you to get to your options and change the keybindings by yourself? Change AoE-Loot to F and Interact to whatever you want. There are definitly more important issues that need Anets attention than this one…

I really like this idea, especially if the overcharge of the turret would block enemies like the Guard wall.

1. With the coming September Update tomorrow Anet will introduce the possibility for you to change the stats of your legendary everytime out of combat. So you can have all the stat combos in the game with your legendary.

2. Legendarys are only ment to be a cosmetic surplus to the game, so that you don’t need one to have the same stats. However since Anet will introduce Ascended Weapons in the September Update the damage and stats of the legendary weapons will increase to fit those new weapons. Legendarys will never be the best weapons but one of the best.

Retaliation - Does more damage in BL than EB

Or another thing that I would prefer is to change Retaliation in a way, that it only returns a percentage of the damage dealt to the player. So a hard hitting attack will be more punished than low damange attacks. It can’t be that retal returns 3 times the damage that has been dealt…

I guess fooling around with the skill placement is a workaround.
But I’m still amazed that ANet is just slapping in a cooldown without even bother to consider how it will affect the different classes…espically Engineer.
How hard is it to code in a cooldown on the individual skills instead of the slot itself ?
How hard is it to give Engineers (and Elementalist) weapon swap ?
How hard is it to give Engineers 2 torches for a makeshift FlameThrower instead of a lame weapon kit ?

Torch in main hand = FT 1, 2 and 3
Torch in off-hand = FT 4 and 5

Because these are design choices for the class mechanics. Whe don’t have a weapon swap, therefore we have kits with a much shorter cooldown and eles have their attunements. Imagine eles could swap their attunement and their weapon. They would have a pool of 45 skills in combat. That sounds a little OP to me.

I have a theory why this word is blocked. It’s italian for “masturbation”. So if the chat filter is the same worldwide it’s very likely blocked because of this.

From me?Unfortunately I’m not able to read the forums 24/7.
No, I don’t play ele and I have no intentions to start. What I’m trying to say is that youare comparing two completly different things. Yes, both make yuo change your appearance, but this is the only feature they share. One is a class mechanic to add more depth to the profession, the other is clearly some kind of panicbutton-get-my kitten out-of-here.

Why do turrets have a placement cooldown?

There reason is very obvious. Because that would mean you could pick up and put down turrets, bypassing the CD of their shots. Pick up, put down, boom, pick up, put down, boom.

However there is also an extremely easy way to make turrets suck less and I have mentioned it earlier.

If you pick up your turret, the CD on placing the turret down again should be shortened down to whatever the CD is on the turrets shot. Rifle turret would be 2 seconds and 10 seconds for rocket I think. This way you are rewarded for taking care of your turrets, but you can not abuse anything.

I’m not sure sure whether the OP meant it that way, but as I interpreted it, our turrets should have their CDs, but it starts counting down from the moment you placed them, not after they were destructed or picked up. If your turret has a CD of 20s and it gets destroyed after 10s, right now you’d have to wait the whole 20s to place it again. If I interpret the OP correctly, he suggest to start the cooldown not when the turret gets destroyed, but when you place it – in that scenario, you’d only have to wait 10s to place it again, not the full 20s. While I think that would be cool, I’m not sure how the balancing works out. Necro pets have the same CD mechanism as the turrets have now, however they are mobile…

Not for quite a while. They removed the ability to swap weapons in Death Shroud, it really messed up my rotation too.

Oh, I missed that change completly. Been a while since I played my Necro

There is no reason to say deathshroud and mistform are something different. There is no reason to not be able to stomp or rez or swap weapons in deathshroud.

Can you deal damage or CC in Mist Form? No.
Can you do it in Death Shroud? Well, the last time I checked yes.

Hi, always nice to see new engineers
Where do you want to play with your Build? spvp,wvw, pve…?
At the moment I would not recommend to trait for turrets in Inventionsline because all of the turrettraits there are bugged and not working. Kit refinement has a internal CD of 20 secs (I don’t know if anyone uses it anymore) so it could be frustrating if you want the bomb kit effect but you have to switch to your tool kit. Last but not least if you want to use grenades I would definitly recommend to put 30 points in Explosives for Grenadier.

Deathshroud and Mistform are two entirely different things. If you really want to compare Mistform to anything, take Elixir S, but to compare it with Deathshroud is like comparing Hundredblades to Plague. Both of them deal damage

and btw, you can swap your weapons in Deathshroud, you simply do not get different skills.

Please replace the 1 skill in rifle.

some one did some data mining and found a new rifle skin that is a double barrel shot gun. so, yay for shotguns

I try to use the HT in wvw in small fights or defending a camp (if one can hide it). As soon as large zergs collide however, I have a really hard time casting the combo HT+CB+Detonate due to enormous skill lags. On top of that, it’s impossible to wait for the next tick of the CB since the turret gets nuked in the blink of an eye.

I’m starting to wonder whether there is anything not broken if you use turrets. Almost every trait is not working, no CD reduction when picking it up…

I do want to add something to and I’m not sure if its a bug or not but it seems to me that turrets are the only “pets” that do not attack world bosses (necro and ranger pets do, guardian I’m not sure). I’m not sure if they ever did that but I would really appreciate it.

However, there is already a trait in the Tools line. I think it’s one of the first major traits that enables to create an attack or spell whenever you equip a kit.
