It really depends on the group you’re playing with. I have had fast runs with almsot no downs with great groups but also remember 3 hour runs with constant retries with not so well organized ones. Just keep trying until you find one it works out with and stay in touch.
Which of those tasks are a test of your skill and “proof of your accomplishments”?
I was referring to the determination part actually.
Interesting sidenote however: with your argumentation, no part of gw2 requires skill since forging a legendary pretty much covers the entire gameplay…
You can skip ALL of that “work” and just buy a Legendary off of the Trading Post, thus committing absolutely no effort on your own part to obtaining it.
Sorry I forgot that as soon as something can be done, it ultimately must have been done by everybody.
I dislike legendaries because they are a symbol of wealth instead of player skill/determination
All I needed to read to know that you don’t know what you’re talking about. In what alternate universe is 100% world completion, collecting dungeon tokens, badges of honors and fine materials a sign of wealth?
Most bought it.
So most spend 1000-2000 rl dollars to get an ingame weapon? And you can proof this how?
This is happening on Riverside aswell. I actually thought ANet did this on purpose so people would start using the pact weapons o_O
Fun thing btw, with the exception of dusk and twilight (and perhaps some other, haven’t checked in about a week) the precursor isn’t the most expensive part. If you’re going for a weapon that needs charged lodestones you better take out a second mortgage
Especially with the curernt drop rate. After farming orr for almost 2 weeks, I have had one (!!) lodestone drop.
So people form zergs to “do the jp” which basically means camping to kill off soloers. I understand this is supposed to be part of the wvw jps and I am not writing this to complain about these zergs but rather to thank those few groups I have encountered that didn’t kill the helpless soloer and instead just ignored him – thank you!
Most people complained that they placed too much work into greatswords
Really? Yet I am having a real hard time finding one that isn’t twice the size of my char or whose blade isn’t as thick as brick wall.
“the pant”??? Why not just go nuts and spring for the whole set of pant*s*.
Good one!
I’ve experienced various situations where my running animation was suddenly stuck in slowmotion. It is kind of like being crippled but without actually having any active conditions. This has happened in pve maps aswell as in dungeons. Just now during a fractal run and the last time during tixx. Sometimes the issue will go away if I just keep playing but usually it will remain until I relog.
i expect a little more when i put in real money
Well thank god this isn’t the case and let’s hope it never will be!
I just hope ANet ignores this constant surge of posts where people complain about how hard it is to get stuff that is supposed to be hard to get.
Imho there should be more – this really is an issue!
I actually think it’s the only wintersday skin worth getting and I’m therefore quite lucky I dropped it from a box yesterday
Working here.
Got my last poi on a wvw map and only received the title. Went to chantry of secrets and received chantry of secrets completion and 2 gifts of exploration.
I remember one time back in Britannia I was walking through the woods kind of lost because I was really new to the game and a giant newb to mmos generally. Suddenly a gm gates to me and honestly asks me if I need any help. Those were the days!
Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

Personally I think there can never be too many players. If I’m annoyed by the zerg, I move away somewhere else. Having nobody to do an event however leaves you without any options – there’s not always a guildy around wanting to twink in queensdale. And doing events myself will soon get boring and make me feel lonely.
I remember when I first started GW2. I was so excited when me and a giant zerg destroyed that elementar and then kept moving together across the map. I felt like part of something big and it was simply amazing how we were able to play together without the need to lfg or whatever. I started a new char two days ago and did that group event again – completely alone. The next day I meat 3 players on that entire map.
I can understand that ANet doesn’t want to talk about these things, it would only result in more “the game is dead” posts. And while I don’t believe the game is dead, I do think we are getting problems in low lvls regions. Merging underpopulated servers into some kind of underflow would be an ideal solution.
Again, the problem isn’t that you can not do the events alone. Yes you mostly can, even group events. But who would want to? Isn’t that ‘being part of something big’ aspect, one of the reasons these events are in the game in the first place? It just doesn’t feel that big if I am there all by myself..

This is what I used before switching to my Crit-Mantra-Build:
Mirror Images
Signet of Midnight
Arcane Thievery
This would give me 2 stun breaks and one removal of up to three conditions. Not very useful for most pve situations probably.
I am now going for an all mantra build, focusing on crit dmg more than cond dmg. So this is my current setup:
Mantra of Concentration (stun break)
Mantra of Resolve (remove up to 2 conditions)
Mantra of Distraction / Mantra of Pain (still playing around with these)
Of course I changed my build to reflect these changes, giving me 3 mantra uses before having to rechannel and 4% more dmg for each readied mantra (which is why I need that third mantra even if there would be more useful skills. Same goes for Mantra of Recovery instead of Ether Feast)
As you can see my main focus lies on stun break and condition removal.

It doesn’t……..
The way levelscaling is implemented at the moment is pretty useless. Unless drops, karma and xp rewards will be affected by the players lvl, going back to low lvl regions will only be of interest for finishing said region. I am currently getting my 100% on all regions and I tend to ignore events (unless I need them for my daily) because frankly it isn’t worth the effort. This really needs to be overthought imho!
When waiting for the rubble to form a path, be sure to jump early and go for the furthest platform (see first image). You can actually jump shortly after the screen shakes, even if it seems like you will miss it.
Avoid the first bar completely by jumping to the platform on the right (see second image)
I loved the clocktower!
You guys can cry as you want but it won’t make up for the simple fact that it is you who are failing. Passive speed buff? Yeah right, what is this gonna buy you, an extra 2 seconds? If you need those, you already lost. It is really not that hard. Bummer you only get 10 tots when completing it again..
I doubt they’ll return, but that’s my personal guess.
Matter of fact, I actually hope they will have new achievements for next years halloween.
It is far from impossible to get all achievemens during this first event, I have done all there is to do atm and am only waiting for act 2

Firstly – as posted before – there is a way to find out when a dragon spawns, it simply depends on the community if the list is being kept updated. gw2events.de is a great resource for eu servers.
Secondly, what is everybodies problem with traveling costs? Even if I start in Orr and go for the triple dragon tour, I will be back at Orr having spent about 12s. 12s for three chances of finding rares, a bunch of xp, karma and the general fun of reading the chat while waiting for the dragons / dancing on mortars.
I don’t follow them around anymore like a tour groupie as I did in the beginning but I still visit them regurarly to say hi
27 and loving it
Two things related to the chat, that I am really missing:
1. Undockable chat tabs
2. Chat text color customization
