Condition stacks were increased to 1500 maximum stacks a long time ago. 1500 bleed stacks, 1500 burn stacks, 1500 poison stacks, etc. There’s no need to do what you’re asking. You have to be coming back from a LONG hiatus from the game to not know that.

Maul is consuming the AOO to increase its own damage by 50%. Just tested it with pet out (not giving myself AOO) and in beastmode (giving myself AOO). Beast mode maul was MUCH higher. High enough that it had to be consuming its own AOO to increase its damage by 50%. The bonsues from being in beastmode alone couldn’t possibly cause the dramatic damage increase to maul.

If you look at Maul damage numbers in beast mode and compare it to Worldly Impact, Worldly Impact should do more damage, but it doesn’t, Maul beats it every single time because its consuming its own AOO.

No, I don’t agree. Your argument is simply that because you want something and you don’t want to have to obtain it in the its current obtainable form, it should be added to the gemstore.

what do you think of the balance patch?

It’s like SoR was the only cleanse ranger had? While we had a ton of other cleanses and now we have even more. We have a 1000 options via other skills and traits to cleanse ourselves which are a million times better than old SoR, that 1 condi-clear every 10 secs. Really guys? Falling over that? I’m tempted to give 100 gold for the first person that can name 3 types of condi clears pre-patch we already had, and three new ones. Then we can all hold hands and sing a happy song!

SoR and EB changed (both for the worse IMO) and we didn’t gain anything. I relooked over the patch notes and didn’t see any new condi cleanses. Did we gain some I’m missing?

Edit: I am absolutely sure, I poured over the patch notes, we gained NO new condi removals. Your 100 gold offer is invalid.

Again, going out of your way to purposely ignore the new sources of condi cleanse. As 500 people have already clearly pointed out in this thread. New zephyrs speed interaction with WS traits = 2 condi cleanses, new soften the fall interactions with any heal = 2 more new condi cleanses. TU now 4 potential condi cleanses. You’re willfully being obtuse at this point.

I like your accounting of opportunity cost in terms of skills/traits/rune requirement, but you don’t seem to take account of the granularity of the cleanses (and therefore the potential cleanse waste).

Don’t try to to show him his obvious flaws, he doesn’t want to see them and only sees his perfect scenario where old SoR passive worked as a perfect cleanse every 10 seconds 100% of the time.

sevenDEADLY.5281

As far as net totals go, SoR was one of the best condi clears in the game. The list of single utility skills that could remove 6 condis per minute in the game is incredibly low,

But the SoR argument is like saying it’s inefficient to get paid $100 a month for a year when you could make $200 which is a bigger chunk, but at 2-3 (or more) time slower. In a worst case efficiency, you’re breaking even, and beyond that, the monthly payment is more money. The only argument that can be made for the other options is that people prefer the delivery method.

This example only works if you’re assuming you’re in combat for the entirety of that 60 seconds and then and ONLY then is that “6 condi clears per minute” even begin to come close to worthwhile. If I’m in a fight for 35 seconds. thats only 3 completely uncontrollable condi clears in the duration of the fight, when I would much rather have on demand useful condi clears that I can control.

And you’re assuming that A: its going to remove something useful (which most of the time it wont) and B: that when that 10 second mark ticks, you actually have a condi on for it to clear. If even for a brief moment you’re clear of condis and that 10s window goes by, your numbers on usefulness just went down.

There are numerous holes in this whole “SOR was the greatest ability to ever grace mans presence” argument. Your example basically asks for a perfect scenario in which you’re actively in combat 100% of a full minute, every minute and that SOR will remove a good condi from you every single tick (as opposed to a stack of vuln or cripple), which it wont. AND you’re assuming that every 10 second tick on the tick, you’re going to have a condi for it to clear to begin with. Even if this were all the case, new methods of condi removal are still better numbers. I can remove 4 condis every 20 seconds with TU and soften the fall. I’ll take a potential 12 controllable condi removal every minute over a potential 6 uncontrollable any day of the week.

Well I got tired of watching you go out of your way to ignore the fact that our condi clear has DRAMATICALLY increased, while you push your agenda for a signet that was never really that good to begin with.

There have been plenty of people who have very carefully and neatly explained and detailed exactly how old SoR was bad, the change is better, and how our condi clear is better now then it has been. You’ve purposely ignored all of them throughout this thread. So I’m not really too concerned about convincing you of anything.

Best skill in the game for 5 years, SoR, just got obliterated. I’ve lost any desire to play for a while.

What? Signet of Renewal just got a major buff. The passive condi clear never procced when you needed it, and the active just killed your pet.

You’re not realizing how MASSIVE this nerf was to our condi removal.

Yeah bruh, I’m really gonna miss having SoR remove that one stack of cripple or those 2 stacks of vulnerability once every 10 seconds while I have 45 stacks of DoTs on me. Lawd knows condi specs only apply 1 stack of DoTs every 10 seconds. Super useful stuff there. We’re all gonna die and the sky is falling now because of our ONE condi removal every TEN seconds… lawl.

Btw, I love how you’re completely ignoring the massive increase to condi removal we just got from the changes to soften the fall and zephyrs speed. Its like you’re purposely trying to be obtuse.

I’m trying to look at this trait and weigh the pros and cons. This trait itself is definitely fantastic, but the line it’s in is surprising to me. Skirmishing strikes me more as a condi trait line but vicious quarry is definitely great for a power remorseless build.

Basically I’m trying to decide if the extra 10% crit chance and 250 ferocity on fury, on top of the added 10% chance to crit from Hunter’s Tactics, and the extra precision from spotter is worth the trait line over other specializations. Opinions?

Whats your definition of alive? Because I log into the game at random hours on random days and always see people playing, even in vanilla maps. I tend to see more people in HoT maps when I’m roaming around, but that’s how all MMOs ever made work (more people in newer content). So unless you’re expecting 500 players to be playing on your active screen at every given moment to be considered “not dead”, I don’t understand these arguments.

Expansion 2 ! Class Preview and BETA TEST!

Last expansion did have a new class and GW1 had a new class every expansion. It is safe to say it is more likely than not. In any case, will know next Tuesday.

No. They already stated the Revenant finished off the 3 of each armor class (1 high, 1 medium, 1 low hp) for each base profession. There was a discussion from game developers about how going forward they would only be adding elite specs to each of the 9 base professions from now on.

You would be asking for quite a bit for them to make 9 new elite specs, and then a new class AND have to develop two elite specs for it to keep it in balance with the current classes and elite specs. And then what for the 3rd expansion? You expect a new class again? With 3 elite specs of its own? Plus 10 elite specs for the ones that came before? They’re not doing this. They already said they aren’t.

That would have been my second pick and to be honest I have a suspicion that the lightning bow actually was a design for gen 2 legendary longbow, then when they “indefinitely suspended” the legendary weapons, they just decided to release it as a gem store weapon. There are supposed to be more mastery points then masteries. You’re not supposed to be forced to complete 100% of the game to get full masteries. I have 100% mastery completion with many left over mastery points as well, but for you to seriously suggest that the more casual playerbase (which is a huge % of the playerbase) be forced to complete every single mastery point in order to complete full mastery is a shortsighted idea. Motivation to work towards masteries would plummet and the only thing it would accomplish is driving away players who would view the task as impossible.

21 characters? Max level? If they are max level then kitten! There isn’t anything on earth that after being done repeatedly doesn’t become boring. That’s just human nature. Imagine a pianist playing moonlight sonata for the 15000th time. He probably hates the song and anyone who makes him play it. Look at it like this, even if you did do high level fractals, if you went at it as hard as you went at the rest of the game it too would eventually become boring. That’s just life. The little shake ups in character balancing and a little change here or there to skills is really what keeps some people playing honestly. Don’t get me wrong I still love the game, but if things don’t change from time to time or you find ways to change up what you’re doing how many times can you kill stuff the same way really?

Like others have said, maybe take a break again. Expansion 2 will be within the year, might be the perfect time to jump back in.

And when a player drops their condi rotation on someone and then watches it all get cleansed away with the press of a button, you think their cooldowns just magically reset and they get to do it all again instantly? Its the same thing. If your argument is that power builds only have some kind of 30 second cd burst window and they don’t have consistent damage, then I have to ask what game you’re playing, because its not this game.

There’s already a game mechanic to mitigate condi damage. It’s called condi cleanse. People on here talking about about conditions like there’s absolutely no counter what so ever. This must be your first week in gw2 or some nonsense. I can have 99 stacks of bleed and 50 stacks of burning slammed on me all at once and all I have to do is astral form as a druid and low and behold, every single condition I had on me is gone, wiped from existence. Wheres my direct damage cleanse? Sure armor partially mitigates, but it certainly doesn’t make direct damage disappear without a trace.

If you run around without any condi cleanse that’s your fault, not the games. I don’t run around with no armor on and then come complain on the forums because a dagger thief backstabbed me for the entirety of my health bar in a single hit.
