So, if prices for server transfers were based on WvW population, what would a fair distribution of costs look like from the lowest population servers to the highest? Keep in mind that making it completely impossible to transfer to a server puts a burden on other players. That doesn’t mean that you couldn’t have an incredibly high price, just that completely blocked isn’t an option.

I hope you take into consideration adding achievements that encourage zergs to disperse. Lets not have another WvExp situation.
Although, all in all, I’m not enthusiastic about this new system. I fail to understand the concept of “competition” that you hope to instill, when the playing field is inherently unbalanced. Numbers win everything. How is that a fair competition?
At no point did I, or would I have, said “Fair competition” WvW is not intended to be “fair”. There are servers with more people, there are servers with better organizations and that will always be the case. This competition will be about showing how your world can do over a defined period of time, against a variety of opponents. SPvP is the part of our game that aims for a completely level playing field. WvW would never be able to match that goal.
In his opinion WvW isn’t about fair competition, can never have a level playing and if you want one, go play sPvP.
Are the devs still reading this? Seems devoid of developer posts/opinions/suggestions. Doesn’t appear to be much collaboration going on aside from the usual playervsforum stuff we usually get.
Pretty disheartening when you see the number of Dev replies in Living World thread compared to this one, but not surprising.
People assume that if we spread the map out and got rid of waypoints, it would make blobs spread out to defend. I disagree. I think the blobbers would just give up on defending all together. “The keep is contested? Well, R.I.P. Hills!”
People always say, “Buff Defense rewards!”, but how? I also don’t think it is really feasible to make defensive rewards anywhere near on par with karma training.
We can all point fingers at Anet and god knows they deserve most of the kitten that is talked on this forum, but at some point, responsibility falls on the player base for being dumb mindless zerglings.
Just get as many hammer warriors and guardians as you can get in a queue and have them all stack on your tag. Have a few staff ele water field bots and a mesmer or two for veil. Then just torpedo into everything in sight. Can’t lose!
If you’re going to change the way waypoints work then you’re going to have to do something about golems (alphas and omegas) and ram mastery.
Golems and traited superior rams currently burn gates down (reinforced or not) faster than a defensive force can get there.
Have scouts, waypoint before the keep gets contested. You have a 30 second window before the keep comes up as contested after it has been attacked, enough time to waypoint if you have proper scouting. Although they should lower the damage of omegas a bit or increase the supply needed because a server that has a t3 keep fairly well defended can take all of its supply and build 5-6 omegas and head out without a worry.
I don’t think you understand how the waypoint mechanic even works.
I agree with you, however, conversely you should not be able to contest a keep/castle by simply “tapping”. Tapping mechanic needs to be removed from the game or drastically altered.
Fully upgraded gate guards should have stealth detection and be fully capable to wipe a small group of players (up to 5), The said keep/castle should become contested if there is at least 2% or 3% damage done to the said gate/wall, not just single hit, that is ridiculous.
Or they could change it so only siege damages gates. No idea why you can auto-attack down a gate in the first place.
Don’t like finishers in PvE? Too bad, better get used to it. You’ll be seeing more and more of it as they try to expand the market for gem store finishers.
I don’t really find it to be much of a grind (outside of the merc camp one, which I don’t plan on doing), though I play do GW2 exclusively for WvW. I missed the first week of the season, been playing since Friday and I have 6 of the achievements without really changing my gameplay. Only thing I’ve been doing differently is switching off rams and catapults so everyone can get credit for taking gates/walls down. This is all while being the lowest seed in my league bracket. I have no doubts that I’ll reach the meta achievement without grinding things out.
My server rarely has queues outside of reset night and I haven’t really been bothered by the achievement hunters since I usually ignore and avoid PUGs like the plague.
All that being said, in the end, I don’t really care about the title that comes along with the meta achievement and we all know the reward is going to be lackluster so if I fell short, I couldn’t say I would really care.

My favorite is the 10-15 man “roaming group” perpetually patrolling the bloodlust area for hours on a fully green JQBL every morning when I log on. I guess it’s just one of those t1 strategies that my feeble brain doesn’t understand.
Still waiting to run into some of these warriors that people seem to think are so OP in 1v1 situations. Outside of their ability to run away, I just don’t really get it.

lol indeed correct you can be t2 based on oceanic alone. it just makes for a terrible week as a server fights with its stongest time against its opponents weakest.
SoS has excellent NA guilds, as well as great EU and SEA people. We have not made “T2” based solely on our oceanic timezone.
If Mags indeed gets to gold league, they’ll have plenty if chances to take down SoS. We’ll be seeing a lot of each other.
lol, you sound like one of those dragonbrand players that used to swear up and down that they didn’t ride into t2 on the backs of their SEA population.
Please don’t remove this achievement. Last time they had a WvW JP achievement, it was a loot bonanza. Camp EB jumping puzzle → Have someone guest to opposing server’s Lion’s Arch advertizing portals to get the achievement → Farm PvE scrubs for hours on end!
Also, your roamers hit really hard. Fun night.
