Thieves are not OP, they are UP in comparison to the other meta professions and if the meta professions aren’t toned down then Thieves, Elementalists, and Mesmers will all need buffs.
Also, every argument you just made has been refuted a billion times since launch. Please, for crying out loud, use the search button.

Im all for other thief’s getting there game on, but seriously? d/p = cheese, everyone know’s it even thief’s who run it, know it.. Good vid, but bad opponets + cheese spec = zzzzzzz.
There’s no such thing as “cheese”, get off your high horse, it’s getting old as kitten hearing people say that using a specific set or build is “cheese” and therefore shouldn’t be played.
Honestly man, this has got to be one of the worst Thief videos I’ve seen yet, and here’s why:
- The gigantic black box in the bottom left hand corner that feels like it covers a quarter of the screen is distracting enough as it is, but the changing text on it is just kittening annoying. You’re in some pr0 clanz son, we get it, it’s at the start and it’s in the thumbnail, we don’t have to be reminded every 5 seconds who you are, what your build is, and what guild you’re in.
- The flashing render crap every 10 seconds was even more annoying and disruptive than the big black box. I paused it at the right frame and it just looked like a poorly rendered video so I’m not going to blame you for this entirely, but come on man, watch your video before you upload it so that you can fix ridiculously obvious errors like these!
- You’re a skill clicker, and holy kitten was it painful to watch… I was just waiting for you to start rotating on the spot like a keyturner and I wouldn’t have been too surprised if you did.
- Watching you in group fights against upscaled players where it was usually XvX and not always 1vX was just plain boring as kitten. Seriously.
- Generic music that we’ve all heard a billion times combined with no game sound effects = boring and uninteresting.
Overall, I give your video a 2/10, I didn’t even get past the five minute mark it was that bad.
Sorry mate. ;\

exactly lets hear it from a dev and not a thief
Honestly, with your kittenty attitude I hope that no dev responds to you and this thread dies a horrible death (and devs don’t reply to threads in the thief forum anyway).
It’s not a bug, it has been like that since beta, it’s an intended aspect of stealth and unless they decide to change it to reward more counterplay it’s never going to change.
Calling it a bug and then acting like all Thieves are going to cry that it should stay despite already being told that I agree with you that it should be changed is just plain stupid.

I chose a Sylvari and never regretted it. They’re naturally corageous, inquisitive, and collectively intelligent, but they can also be corrupted by Nightmare and turned into a fearsome enemy. I found that from a lore/RP point of view this makes for a very interesting Thief.
Also, their personal stories are great (I found the White Stag path particularly enjoyable and reveals a lot about the Sylvari and the Nightmare Court).
Oh, and Asura are egotistical midgets and you can’t see their gear properly which sucks… Sylvari > Midgets.

The only reasonable option is the second one that you mentioned. Anything else is just stupid, in my opinion.
To be honest, I used to dislike Last Refute, but it wasn’t until recently that I realised that it has saved my butt while roaming in WvW far mire times than it has killed me. It’s actually not a bad trait at all, it just needs to work differently from regular Stealth.

They just need a dropdown menu in the game settings tab that gives you the same options as team colours but for making players human instead. Simple.

It is a major issue, actually. It costs 37.5k glory and 5 gold for 25 levels, but that’s not even including the 3 levels you need to gain before you hit level 5 and can gain skillpoints. On top of this, you have to do it for every single character that you make.
To get the new heals on one of each class is actually 336k glory and 44.8 gold. How is this acceptable?! That doesn’t even include the cost of unlocking future skills!

I’m not interested.
Don’t worry, I’m sure someone is streaming some no skill wvw for your entertainment
I’m sure standing in circles and spamming those objectives with AoEs is skillful too.
Translation: I don’t actually know how PvP works in GW2, lol.

“But they’re still there! How does the stake miss?!”
For the same reason that a Thief can use magic to create a zone of invisibility that only affects allies and themselves: IT’S A VIDEO GAME.
Seriously dude, WOW, wanting it changed is one thing, but using RL-physics to justify a change in a video game is just plain stupid.
It’s called internal consistency. No one is asking for a real life application of physics. But within the stated rules of physics in game, it should be consistent.
I do believe that you are the one asking for consistency with the known laws of physics. You quite literally suggested that the stake shouldn’t miss because invisibility != intangibility. This is a video game where the known laws of physics need not apply.
Let me break it down for you though, because kitten, why not right? In the lore of Guild Wars, the Thief uses the same branch of magic as the Mesmer, denial magic, which means that all sorts of so far unknown magical properties and affects may take place when a Thief uses their magic. For example, the fact that the Thief is able to use denial magic to place a field of invisibility that only affects himself and others of his choosing (Shadow Refuge) suggests a certain level of control over these properties. This means that, as far as the developers and designers are concerned, practically everything can be explained away by the fact that THIS IS A VIDEO GAME.
Last I checked, when my Thief stomps an enemy, a ghostly red wraith materialises from thin air, pierces them through the heart, then returns from whence it came. On the other hand, my Warrior summons a cow from the heavens that lands butt-first on the opponent, humiliating them for their friends to laugh at in the pub on Friday nights for all eternity.
In other words, you’re creating this so-called “consistency” to suit your argument when, in fact, your argument has no grounding in the internal logic of the game whatsoever. You and your team were outplayed in a team versus team mode of PvP and you’re just upset by that fact. Get over it, learn to play, and quit trying to dumb down the game even further by removing legitimate tactics (and not to mention destroying the usefulness of both Shadow Refuge and Mass Invisibility in PvP, lol).

‘I dont have to explain anything, its MAGIC!’
You’re a brilliant example of how not to be stupid.
While you, my friend, are a perfect example of someone with the reading comprehension of a master scholar; truly, we are in the presence of greatness.

I’ve been saying this since they first introduced unlocking skills, and I’ll say it again:
Unlocking skills, traits, or equipment of any kind, no matter the cost, goes against everything Guild Wars 2 PvP stands for and directly undermines the premise of PvP in this game as advertised since before the game even launched, bringing many PvP-oriented players to the game.
The new heals have been out for a while now, and I am yet to unlock a single one of them. The reason (besides Skelk Venom being hilariously bad)? Despite playing almost every day, I still can’t afford to unlock just one skill while I also grind for armour sets.
If Arena Net continues on this dangerous path of creating imbalance and destroying the even playing field of PvP, I, and many others, will be quitting, and the already small tPvP scene that we have will get even smaller.
Please, Arena Net, don’t continue down this path, keep the even playing field of PvP and don’t go against everything that you have stood for. I’ve heard claims that a good portion of the Arena Net staff consider themselves hardcore PvP players; if this is true, then prove it by making the right decision.

LOL are you kidding me?! I’ll take stackable invulnerability GOD MODE every 3/4 seconds any day over stealth that a monkey can counter thank you very much!
Your experiment is terrible and your premise is hilariously flawed.

PW is now call Waving In the Air – and is a form of Tai Chi. It was usable with 100% quickness (although admittedly a tiny bit OP) but to have an ability only made useful with a second ability is not great. Now even with 50% quickness passers by wave back with confused looks on their faces and continue on their way as you’re rooted to the spot in serene enlightenment.
This couldn’t be any further from the truth, I run S/P as a glass cannon roamer and despite not being as effective for straight up burst as the BS combo it keeps people locked down better than S/D while taking very heavy damage from PW.
I’m not opposed to reversing the nerf on PW, but I honestly think that a full 15% could make it too powerful.

Arena!!! 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, etc. Using our own equips (not spvp equips). No other objective than killing the other player/team.
We need something like that desperately. Why would you want to use your own equipment? That makes absolutely no sense and is against the spirit of skill-based PvP that GW2 strives for.
cuz thac the thing that is killing the s pvp no progresion none its just stupid its like playing dress up game over and over for what ? finishers hell no something that will req some sort of effort even grind to get depending on rank and honor points
I disagree, I think what is killing sPvP is the lack of different game modes, the spammy metas, and the lack of frequent balance patches. There is progression in the form of ranks and cosmetic skins, just not enough of it, and that is supposed to be changing soon.
The whole point of having the same equipment in sPvP is so that everyone is on an even playing field and the result is determined by skill and builds, not gear.
@Incurafy.6329
-Hotjoin is fine as it is. just make another hotjoin-Next suggestions are more ego stroking then promoting gamemodes tbh.
But yeah “Incurafy.6329’s team won glory for our realm sounds nice” ^^-Elitist armor sounds aweful tbh. just make it obtainable when you reach certain levels even as a casual after 2 years playing or something. i think most people won’t like climbing ranks like that and would create the same block for players as HA did.( R.10+ or @tf0 remember.)
How is hotjoin fine as it is? Also, what do you mean by make another hotjoin? There are already 5v5 hotjoin arenas, but because of the lack of a proper tutorial, they’re just as zergy as the 8v8’s.
Well, they’re not supposed to be entirely ego stroking, more encouraging people to get into PvP, but that is kind of the point. PvP is all about winning for a lot of people and rewards for winning encourages competition. It’s a win win all around.
It’s not really elitist armour, it’s just armour that shows off that you’re a good player. If the leaderboards worked properly you wouldn’t be in the top 100 unless you were actually one of the best 100 players in NA/EU, meaning that competitive players are rewarded for their skill and determination. Having lower ranked unique armours is also necessary for obvious reasons, that’s why I mentioned it.
I do remember the HA rank limits, but I’m sure that Anet can find some sort of workaround to stop that from happening, but teams already don’t want people under r30/40/50 unless you can prove that you’re good enough.

You should be reported. For your grammar skills.
Going by the structure of your post I’d say that you’re not much better.

Actually, Instinctual Response is fine, it’s Last Refuge that people complain about because it’s a 5 point minor trait that you don’t have the option to take, it’s mandatory if you put any points into Shadow Arts.
