i just use Brunokey. i’m that uncreative. i do it for all temporary chars (that i create just to see if i can achieve a certain look on the wardrobe, or with a total makeover kit) too, not only farming characters.

My original character is named Mockingbird so I use variations of the name with the word key like “Mockey Bird” and “Mock Keybird” XD. I really enjoy looking at fellow key farmers with creative names that incorporates the word key

In this case, I’m more disappointed in you guys than Arenanet. Yes, they let a bug slip but it’s no where near game-crashing. From the amount of whine going on in this thread, you’d swear that it is.

As far as having the armor removed or heavily modified, I don’t think anyone has taken great offense to it that they demand radical actions. I for one am just annoyed over that circle thing on the breasts that look like areola. If they can just smooth that out and fix the phantasm glitch I’d be satisfied. Maybe those things were meant as placeholders for an armor part that they’ve decided to forgo.. like boob tassels. -_- But whatever it is, it serves no real purpose than be distracting.

Well, the person on the screenshot, the one who did the kicking/banning during Escape from LA, and the one who allegedly did the kicking in order to bring a guild’s members to their Tequatl overflow is one and the same. It’s not like there isn’t any precedence to him kicking on a whim. /shrug

Unfortunately this is just how GW2 is. It cannot retain players and there’s no way to fix that. So my suggestion to Anet is go back to the standalone expansion pack model. You’re not gonna keep this game alive with the current business model because it will never have enough player retention. Changes like this are almost death throes. You can’t keep this up.

I bought the game under the impression that it will share the same horizontal progression that GW1 was popular of. Why wouldn’t anyone think the same, when it’s marketed as having all the things we love about GW1?

Yea me too.. I’ve never actually filed a ticket on graphical glitches to phantasms due to armor effects, but this one is just so bad.

This case is black and white because there’s nothing complicated about it.

The only people upset are the ones that lost the keyfarm, but aren’t even brave enough to openly admit that.

Instead they go around complaining how bad it is for gameplay and combat depth in early levels when they couldn’t care less about something they’d normally only do once every few months (read create a new alt to play) and that’s dealt with in an hour.

If people are upset about losing the farm, they should say so, not hide behind false concern and give Anet an ultimatum, all people ever wanted was to power level, levelling to 10 is allegedly faster now than it was before, so what’s the problem? You know, besides no more keyfarm?

There are so many threads detailing what they don’t like about the patch and the only thing you get from those is that everyone’s a secret key farmer? Selective attention much?

It’s nothing like GW1 that’s for sure. It has a lot of problems, and things that aren’t appealing to me as a massive GW1 fan. That being said, it still is Anet, and I am still hopeful that they will get their act together and make this game better. So buy it, and if you don’t like it at it’s current state, then you can wait until it does.

At the moment, I’m feeling that it isn’t the right game for me anymore, with how they’ve introduced so much stuff that detracts from their manifesto.

I find these threads laughable. I’ve been playing the game for over 2 months and have spent at most 2 hours in that time grinding anything (a few champions for a monthly). Still have a ton of stuff to explore and do and expect there’s plenty to keep me busy for at least a year, not counting new stuff that gets added.

Grinding is self-imposed. It’s always the people obsessed with optional gear who then convince themselves that grinding that gear is mandatory and then complain that the game is grindy.

Also, sometimes people just outgrow a game and need to go play a different one.

The fact that you’ve only been playing the game for 2 months makes it reasonable why you do not understand the OP. I suggest you read it again.

I just deem it illogical that people say SOS shouldn’t/doesn’t deserve the influx of new guilds just because it is on top at the moment. I understand where the disinformation (black propaganda) is rooted though; as I’ve said, it is a legitimate war strategy afterall.

My equipment which I have been using will become obsolete (by that I mean NOT BiS) after this ascended crap has been introduced. That wasn’t was I was expecting when I bought this game, thinking it will be like GW1 where even if I stopped playing for a year, I won’t be behind in terms of stats (regardless of how small the increment is).

That’s the thing, why are they doing that? How do they know that person isn’t afk because of something important? That sounds very dictatorial.

I want Wintersday to not be interfered by LS stuff like what they did with Halloween. Wintersday was my favorite holiday event last year and I’d be disappointed if they clutter it with LS crap.

I wish they’d focus solely on big holiday events, I don’t mind LS on other days.

Just let them farm how many dragon they want in a day. Why all the limitations in this game geez. It used to be better when the game allowed more freedom to its players.

CoF was fun because a lot of people were doing it. Now nobody wants to do dungeons because they just don’t give the reward necessary to make it worthwhile. What’s so wrong with getting the equipment we want earlier? This isn’t a subscription game anyway. I’d rather farm ALL dungeons if they were as good as the previous CoF and complete every single set. CoF was only good for getting exotic armors. People are gonna transmute them anyway after they get their CoF set and have some time to actually farm the ones they REALLY like.

Yup, I’m a leech. I hang out by the ruins of the forge doing the Dolyaks, the Children, defending the Trader’s Forum and occasionally Miasma over and over again. Sometimes I run up to the BLTC building to encourage traders when there’s a lull. Otherwise I just stand there by the forge watching the city burn.

I wouldn’t quantify that as leeching; maintaining a post in an active flight path and doing events does help (provided you succeed). We’re talking about people that waltz through the door and then stick a thumb up their kitten while they wait for presents to be doled out, which more often then not contributes to everyone in the event getting less and anger all around. So, yeah, it has been MADE my business.

It’s your problem if you get upset over people afking in events. As I’ve stated in a similar general discussion thread: getting to 1200 citizens = killing teq. I don’t suppose gm’s go about exerting haxX0rz kicking powers to ensure a teq kill right? If you happen to be in main or in a good overflow, then good for you. But you have no right to ask people to go away from sparkfly fen just because they aren’t there to kill teq with you.

Wait for Anet to improve wvw. Seriously, no one will blame you if we lose our Tier 1 rank. It’s Anet’s fault for making wvw sucky.

Surely there could be other ways to dissuade players from mindless zerging aside from asking/praying that other players to/would go away because they will just scale the event and ruin it for everyone else?

letting the people keep the current flamekissed design would be unfair. they can however, provide some sort of compensation like giving 800 gems AND letting them keep the new design.

Why would we want another skin instead? if we don’t end up liking it the replacement holds no value whatsoever, just junk that would sit in storage.

Unlocking cultural armor racial restrictions seems the most solid way to fix the problem but also the most work for anet. This would also allow much more character customization in terms of armour combination and gives players the ability to appear unique where t3 sets are almost the standard these days.

One thing I like about Gw2, is that any race can play any profession, because professions are not restricted to certain races. I have never been a big fan of making something exclusive. It just limits the player’s options.

I want X armor, which I can only get if I play Y race, which I cannot play if I chose Z profession.

Thankfully Gw2 does not have the Z in the above. I would love to remove Y as well. Then players would not have to consider what armor they want when creating a character (if that aspect matters to them that is.)
Instead, they could focus on choosing their preferred race.

Besides: If the cultural restrictions could be unlocked somehow, it would add a new level to the game. We could also potentially gain access to 12 more armor models. Most of them quite beautiful.

It’s a matter of preference, I personally like the idea of racially exclusive armors. It’s one of the only options we have if we want to be distinguished from the other races, especially in PvP where we can’t use our racial skills. There are tons of non-exclusive armors available now anyway, I don’t feel like it’s necessary to remove cultural armors at this point.

I know gear treadmill because i play omg,releasing bits of ascended gear one after another is just a lie, a cover up another way to release new gear type into a game bit by bit.

You know, they seem to be so caught up on the textbook definition of gear treadmill that they don’t understand what we’re trying to say.

I farmed a lot the past few weeks in order to save up some money so I can finally finish all this ascended crap. Now I only have to worry about good looking gear and my next project is the Light of Dwayna backpiece.. Unfortunately it’s still bugged and I can’t buy the recipe on the TP.

UPDATE: Done with my dwayna backpiece yay!

EDIT: I didn’t really like the looks of the light ascended armor so I used transmutation splitters for my exo and bought transmutation stones to transfer the current flamekissed skin because of it’s T3 looks. Because apparently there’s a bug, you can’t transmute from exotic to ascended directly if you have the skin on (thus preventing the transfer of runes as well).

Blood+Illumination. Never fails.
