If you run past the green marker and interact with the actual city gate you should be able to exit to the city proper.

However once you do that the portal stone will no longer take you back to your original map.

I mean… you do realize that makes one of the only reason the stone is good pretty moot. It would be great if we could, say,, be mapping, go to home instance, sell our stuff or whatever and then go right back to continue mapping. This is not the case with Asura and Sylvari iirc, and that needs to be fixed. Right? Right?

I have to say…I am VERY disappointed in the griefing that is allowed in this game. It is like Anet went to SLEEP compared to GW1. Now we have a broken party system that is SO easily fixed by reinstating party leader that is unkickable, unless they DC or leave party (then it simply goes to 2d person to join party and so on), and we have all sorts of other issues that are flat out ignored by Anet staff. I want to play an Anet game, not a blizzard hostile community game.

Something I think is important when completing this fractal is the appointment of a leader. So many times, 3 members will have vastly different strategies. It’s important to choose one, flesh it out completely in chat or teamspeak (so, like, say this player to take his character to this button and do this, while these 3 run through the gate the second it opens, blah blah blah). It’s important to go with a single plan, rather than 5 people trying to do 5 separate things.

Secondly, when you finally get to the 2 button room, make sure you kill the 2 vets guarding before going in. Then, pick a side to clear of dredge, tell one person to get on the button, and another to be ready to grab the console while one person goes to the second button and the 4th kites/tanks dredge. The person on the console is usually best to have stealth, some instant cast invuln (ele mist form) or other blocks to keep the console going if the dredge kiter/tank dies/fails.

Then run up, get to bombs if unlucky, and thats a tale for another person to explain, as i am tired now.

Proposal Overview: Allow fractal tokens to be used for a variety of ascended related items.

Proposal Details: Since launch, there have been no significant changes to what can be obtained from Buy-4373. At the same time, Ascended gear, arguably, has its main use in Fractals of the mists. Currently many of our hardcore fractal players are sitting on tens of thousands of relics and hundreds of rings. Thus, we should add support for the fractal currency to acquire new items from Buy-4373. In addition we should add a new vendor which would allow us to exchange items. The amounts listed below are for demonstration purposes:

Add New Items to the Fractal Vendor

• Amulets – 2000 fractal Relics
• Earrings/trinkets – 1900 Fractal Relics
• Dragonite ore – 5 Fractal Relics
• Bloodstone Dust – 5 Fractal Relics
• Empyreal Fragments – 5 Fractal Relics
• Add a simple white 20 slot bag to the vendor – 100 Fractal Relics
• Add Fractal Weapon Boxes to the vendor. – 5000 Fractal Relics
• Add the Fractal Tonic to the Vendor – 15000 Fractal Relics
• Add Fine infusions to the Vendor. – 3500 Fractal Relics

Add a Currency Exchange Vendor to Fractals.

• Fractal tokens for laurels. 100 Fractal Relics for 1 Laurel

I was about to post this in the general discussion thread because the wardrobe came up there, but I decided it might be more fitting here.

How do you feel about the wardrobe? While I think it is an incredibly nice feature, there is a sore point about it for me.

Because honestly, the wardrobe makes me feel sorry for Lilith and everyone who bought multiple copies of skins for a large amount of gold and gems. With the new system, that is an incredible loss of recources.
I have multiple copies of gemshop skins and other expensive skins like C3 like I guess most of us here. but I’m fairly certain I’m at the bottom of the “multiple skins” leaderboard. So I’m not that much annoyed by it speaking for myself alone. But I do feel sorry for others.

I am honestly ecstatic about it. And there isn’t a bone in me that is going to desire to request refunds on duplicates.

Here’s why:

I have 16 characters. Eventually, I’ll have the full 64. I have almost every gem store skin in the game, and multiples of certain ones, and multiples of several gem store weapon skins and several several black lion weapon skins.

Now, I have 4 lovestruck pistols, 2 fused daggers. I also have 3 Kasmeer staves, 2 Marjory axes, and 4 Marjory daggers.

What I’m getting in return is fused greatsword, rifle, longbow, lovestruck sword, zodiac scepter, immobulus, anomaly, bifrost, dreamer, lovestruck greatsword, fractal pistol, fractal axe, fractal speargun, fractal rifle, every backpiece I’ve ever gotten, and more. I can’t even count the numbers of armor skins I’ll never have to buy again. All of these things, together, when I coordinate my next 40 characters, will be at a flat rate for optimal customization. I can do whatever I want to make my characters shine. This is so important to me.

I can hardly contain my excitement. I have spent 3k+ in the gem store, and this is the sort thing I shelled out money for. I wanted them to be working on this. And they did. And I’m happy. And in the next year, I’ll spend just as much to get every single skin I can in my wardrobe.

Maybe she could get one in a different colour? Or maybe hers could have a different name e.g. “Christina’s Scruffy”.
That’s not too special that people could complain about it being unfair and not too different that it involved too much extra work.

Whenever we post lfgs for specifics we also experience this. It isn’t fun, sure, and I know I get a group that adheres to my high standards of fashion rarely (joke harhar) if ever. We understand where you’re coming from in terms of the lfg. But the issue is, we all have our playing preferences and in group play we all often have to make compromise and go for the path of least resistance.

My guardian may adhere to your fashion standards ;D I realize that there may be no absolute solution to this problem. It unfortunately is hardwired into today’s society. Maybe having something like an extra option for the LFG tool that includes no skipping as a check box much like the language option they have added.

There are a variety of check boxes that would be useful, however a lot of people would complain that the spirit of it is too elitist.

If there’s a no skipping box, there also needs to be a speed run box, and so on. Similar to the old gw2lfg.

I just want different armors. Everything just seems so contrived at the moment. I would have loved zodiac had they made It less blue. I just want something unique. There’s a thread in fan Gen where a person designed a water armor. She/he made the male version similar enough to the female that I was somewhat blown away. I wish we could get stuff like that.

I’m sorry you can’t spend that much but… I for one (oh yes I’m biased) see nothing wrong with gem store skins (either thematically or otherwise) being included in achievements.

I have a ton of skins from the gem shop too but I wouldn’t classify that as an achievement I was proud of if they added it. I definitely think Achievements like beating Liadri were more the type of achievement I am most proud of. Omnomnivore or “Champion X” title from PvP. Buying stuff and getting an achievement for it is akin to a special crown I get to wear at Nordstrom because I shop there a lot. Not really an achievement.

So, if there’s a collection achievement that says “flame weapons” (as an example) and fused weapons were included, would you find getting some of these to be “not really an achievement”?

It’s fine if you don’t. I just don’t think there needs to be a distinction. In fact I think it’s a bit insulting to those that farm gold to convert (I don’t do this) to say what they do with their time isn’t worthy of an achievement.

I think the problem with GW2 is that PVE content is simply too easy. When every dungeon is being run as a “zerk or bust” mentality there is naturally something wrong with the difficulty settings.

If actually people using zerker gear in pve everytime, that would be great.

Great in what way? Because the dungeon would not be challenging at any given point or time? Why not just slap a big “I win button” on a golden chest in the first room and be done with it. It’s kind of like grinding up to the highest level in an RPG before fighting the boss; yeah you beat him, but did you really accomplish anything worth talking about?

Slapping on berserker gear does not automatically make a dungeon (or open world pve for that matter) a face roll.

It isn’t the gear. It’s the player.

The vast majority of the gw2 player base are not able to succeed dungeons in any gear, let alone berserker. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, anet will not create content that only caters to the skilled pve players (or skilled players in general). I’ll say it again, they won’t even introduce a combo field priority system, and their stated reason is because 90% of the playerbase wouldn’t even know what it was for.

I honestly give zero cats what people wear in or out of dungeons. I do however care that people keep saying things like “nerf zerk OP win button”.

The OP set a goal for he and his kids to achieve in gw2. They’re young, so learning to do some things may have taken longer than your average player (or not, his kids might be geniuses!) So their goal was to get dungeon master just the 4 of them at the same time. He’s been coming back occasionally to update. Now that they’ve succeeded, that was his endgame, so now he’s done. It’s pretty awesome and I think it’s a great story.

I get more whispers asking me about my weapons, dyes, and armors than people needing dungeon teachers, but then that’s to be expected, being a God Tier Fashionista.

But when I get folks looking for help, I generally make them wait 30 minutes to make sure they actually want my help. Usually they do, and so far I’ve had good experiences. Some very lovely and spongey noobs.

Ps. Spongey meaning they soak up information, advice, and everything very well.

That’s fair. I miss my armor too. I just wish I didn’t get teased with it to have it get taken away. It’s like “come in for this extra special chocolate cake!” So you go in, order the cake, and they bring you an oatmeal raisin cookie.

I just want to point out that it does not, in fact, create inflation. Inflation means the deterioration of the worth of a currency, what they are doing is not creating gold, it’s taking other peoples already existing gold through selling items.

But it isn’t inflation, it’s capitalism.

I think the two ideas “gw2 is a pvp game” and “anet wants gw2 to be a pvp game” are very different fundamentally. Anet, however, adores the casual pve player base because we fund their job (high five to all the excessive gem buyers, yeah!). High end pvp players help anet by being competitive and flashy and attention grabbing. So these competitive events gravitate toward that. I don’t think they really thought about a pve tournament until we brought it up here on this here forum, but they were obviously glad to support it (because it was handled professionally and in good structure, see gwscr and the way the tourney discouraged exploits and encouraged smart thoughtful play unlike.. another initiative).

The pvp tournaments are already easy to organize. The format and game makes it easy to spectate and make big.

I’m not really happy about an armor set I can’t get. I understand why they are doing it. I am glad that talent is being recognized. I think if we worked with Josh on the next tournament I think they would be open to making it big like the pvp. We just gotta propose it at the right time. Probably not now.

But most of us are glad they changed the look. Human T3 Cultural needs to be exclusive. The Devs realized the mistake, and made a wonderful change. Much love and credit to them for the efforts to correct that mistake.
