I’m sorry, Chris, but this is neither a good nor acceptable reason to avoid the forums.

I work right now as pizza delivery. It really, really sucks. You can be delivering in a snowstorm, be two minutes late, and the customer won’t care. And they will berate you, withhold a tip, and complain to your manager.

And we take it. And we apologize, and we give them a free pizza and try to make the delivery a better experience next time. Because that person is a customer, and no matter how kittenty they are to us, we need their business.

And it’s horrible. It’s a really demeaning and stressful job for sucky pay, and I hate it, but I accept it. Because that’s what it means to provide a service. That’s what it means to rely on a customer. I don’t get to hide my head in the sand. I don’t get to avoid the angry customer, I have to face them head on. I have to take the initial brunt if they’re upset. And I don’t get to retaliate, because my job is on the line.

I’m not sure. My guess is that these were supposed to be pretty rare items only for people who worked hard to get them (the 250 heirlooms were not a walk in the park by any stretch). But I don’t know. Could have been overlooked.

I’d love to see a rebalance of dungeon rewards, as I recall, AC is only high to encourage running it after they revamped it however many months ago.

However… a daily dungeon (which I think should actually be a story dungeon) to complete and say add a token and gold reward to get it would encourage more people to run them. I like the idea of signing on and say “oh, cof story is the daily dungeon, lemme find some noobs to teach”. It would encourage people who aren’t so dungeon savvy to dip their toe in. I like that.

But for no reason ever should the gold reward be taken away from the dungeons. Gold faucets are important and good for our economy given the excessive gold sinks.

I agree with Romo wholeheartedly. It’s the same thing with the other things a bunch of people say should be gotten rid of. Right now we have options. Getting rid of rolling, of stacking, of skipping, of this and that, is getting rid of options. Why do we want to get rid of options?

I don’t always roll swamp. I really love the uncategorized fractal, for instance. I feel like I get rewarded for doing it. But if I only have a couple hours on the game, I roll for swamp. That option actually improves fractals for me. It gives me the option to run what I feel like seeing or what i have time for.

What I’d like to see evolved for fractals is actually the party system. I’d like to see options for fractals to have more than 5, less than 5, and unique parties to take over the mists. I’d like to see new fractals with NPCs from GW1 or give the option of heroes.

I think you really need to reevaluate your designation of trick or exploit. Because frankly, even running an event in the game is apt to become a trick to you.

So personally I don’t think it’s the stacking that’s ruining player skill. I think it’s skipping. Like I mean, they need to practice killing things! Else they won’t know how.

It’s the cold hard facts. I can complete any dungeon with a group of Settlers. I can complete it quicker with berserkers, but the berserkers MUST know how to dodge else it will take forever due to wiping. Risk/reward. This is a problem because the dungeons are static while we’ve all been playing then for 1.5 years so we know how to run them. New players struggle still. Please learn to logic.

I definitely think Cultural Armour needs a rethink.
It is insanely expensive and not even max stats which means that you’re spending all that money for something purely cosmetic.
So as it stands adding different stat types wouldn’t help at all because the gear would still have it’s base stats too low and the cost too high.
They definitely need to go back and re-examine cultural armour. I think the best option would be to make it purely skins, lower the costs a bit and add in more tiers.

So I’m sure this was brought up before…. But it’s still not fixed.

Dungeon runes, whether you get them from the dungeon in the chests or if you forge them, they are soul bound, rather than account bound. This is annoying because if for some reason you get a rune you would use, you likely would not get it on the character you could use it on.

For instance, I would never do a dungeon on a character than didn’t have all of its proper runes or gear.

Also, being soul bound the second they are forged just seems a little off. What is the point?

And before you say it I’m sure there’s a way to make the soul bound runes account bound through transmuting. But that just seems like a waste to me!

There are only 2 things I care about when it comes to character progression: I do not want my hard work crafting something huge to become obsolete due to higher level cap and I do not want my hard work erased by losing levels or progress.

I always thought the game was about cosmetic progression and bigger challenges (like with the increasing Fractal difficulty sense). You go as far as you can until you can’t anymore. Then you practice and try harder, while making yourself look darn good!

I feel like this is becoming less and less the case…. Ascended crafting is fine, but when you have such disparities between classes it kind of stinks (11 more days for light armor, for instance or even 1-handed versus 2 handed weapons (vision crystals)). I feel like it wasn’t thought about much, and considering how much time and thought we put into it on the forums and on the game I guess that offends me.

After reading the news about the new exclusive PVP armors, I cannot stop myself from wishing for a similar PVE counterpart. As it is now, the only prestige armor set in game, will be available for the 10-20 people that happen to win elite tournaments….

While I agree that top PVP players should get a special reward for their effords, I strongly believe that there should be a correspondant set for the people that prefer PVE.

I wish Anet would introduce an equally prestegius armor set, that could be craftable through PVE rewards and activities. I wouldn’t even mind paying 100 pristine relics per piece.

Before people start complaining that everything in PVE is easy so nothing will ever be prestigious: we have been lacking any kind of hard to obtain armor set, so now is the time to give us one of those. I am sure plenty of people will enjoy working towards one of those.

I would also love to see a fractal armor set, acquirable only in fractals (not as a pvp reward track!) And have it have obscene requirements so that it feels like a journey. I’d also like to see a similar one tied to wvw. But again… a FULL armor set. Not just gloves shoulders and boots.

Ascended gear boxes are gotten through pvp rewards so that doesn’t exactly count. But the wurm armor, while on the right track, is not exactly what I think we all have in mind when we think of exclusive prestige armor, because getting it is such awful RNG.

Its not that they enter and leave after we wipe 60 times (exaggerating) its that they enter I say hello and they leave, my is LFG is canceled and I start from zero (its not a problem as much as it is annoyance as there is no message about it and sometimes I find myself just standing alone for few min). I am level 80 guardian, I name my LFG entry “open for all 80” . I don’t do zerker speed runs.

Asura females share most of the same armor models with the males because the human/norn/sylvari female versions are usually adapted for their prominent primate breasts. Since asura do not have those, the vast majority of female armor models would look awkward on them.

The Ancestral Outfit is a good example. It uses the female model on asura females, and we get this useless, out of place “boob window” on the chest that really shouldn’t be there.

Besides, as already mentioned previously, asura do not share the same concept of “sexiness” as humans do. Larger ears are your best bets when it comes to asuran physical attraction, along with a big head for a big brain. Asura will certainly choose a smarter partner over a good-looking one anytime; in the society they live in, intellect is what matters the most.

I, for one, think asura should continue wearing unisex armor. They just look better, and I really don’t want to see my mesmer in an ugly froo-froo skirt.

I think the only thing they can do to actually make this right is to have enough QA to make sure a fiasco like this doesn’t happen again, so have those designers’ designs looked at by someone who KNOWS the game and what everything is, so they don’t make a mistake like this in the future.

I thought it was obvious, really. I thought everybody knew that PvE had been stale for too long, that Anet was undermining us, and that any possible way out of the dark pit the game had fallen into would have to involve the community as a whole.

This is how gwscr approached the problem. Rules were discussed publicly so that the entire community would feel involved. Any form of individualism would have thwarted the project. Only thanks to this community-driven approach was the speed clear competition successful.

Before you launched your first tournament, we had a thread on the forums. We were doing exactly this. We were discussing formats, as a community. Then you made your public announcement, using ideas developed in the aforementioned thread, and it was a great success.

I can imagine that you needed to generate fame for your guild and bypassing the community was a way to get a first-mover advantage. I can also imagine you may think I am discussing this only because I – as an rT member – would be envious of the attention your project attracts. Please believe that it is not the case.

I am convinced we get one shot. One shot at making tournaments that are engaging for the community, one shot to attract attention to PvE before it is doomed for ever. I want to make this right.

Therefore I believe that we have to engage the community as a whole in order to achieve long lasting success. Could we put individualism and personal interest aside for a while? DnT launched two tournaments, KING launched one, all these without community involvement. Okay, I guess we could all launch our own tournaments. The consequent chaos would certainly be entertaining, for a while. But do you really think we can get long-lasting support from Anet if we do not get organised?

As I said, we get one shot. How about we took the time to sit and discuss things?

We could act as a community, to survive as a community. So you see it is not about your tournament, even if I would have some criticism for it, it is about the way we get organised in order to make competitive PvE happen.

There was a feedback thread here and on the DnT forums. You had plenty of time to give your feedback like some of your guilds members incessantly did for the wipe rule to make this tournament that much worse because they had their feelings hurt from wiping.

I saw some of your guild members complaining about this yesterday too (that they feel DnT is only doing this for attention and they wanted to be more involved). Having 100 people organizing a tournament is a terrible idea. It leads to needless drama and everyone wanting it their way. You can’t please everyone. When a small group of people organize it it’s much easier.

And if you look @ previous threads Nike liked the wipe rule. He removed it because of YOUR GUILD’s complaining. So stop acting like he’s complete ignoring you.

If you want to make your own tournament, do so.

And no I’m not in DnT. I’m just tired of seeing a bunch of rT members be such babies about this for no reason. Sorry, you wiped hard in the first tournament. Now we had to change the best rule because of your hurt feelings and you still aren’t happy.

I think what Zelyhn is saying is entirely valid. After the first tournament the idea (that I was pretty sure I had read over and over) was that the first tournament was run by DnT to get it started and that the next tourneys would be run by gwscr or another neutral party. This didn’t happen and there may have been a feedback thread on dtguilds.com but let me be frank and say no one posted it clearly that that was where to go with concerns.

But whatever keep talking. I have my criticisms and mainly it’s just what Zelyhn said. It should be community or neutrally driven.

We are trying to justify stacking? We don’t need to!

QQers are going to QQ. They want to range and they don’t want to make their own parties to do so. So instead if making their own parties they intrude on ours (that we spend time on making and such) and then complain about everything. There is nothing wrong with stacking. It employs group coordination, fun mechanics, actual skill (rather than pew pew I hit yew!) and requires a kind of cooperation folks don’t want to have in pugs.

I think it’s possible that the necromancer ’ s presence in the game is blatantly a bug.

I adore the game. My favorite part is the community (not necessarily the forum community). The amount of lovely people out there willing to help others is beyond what I’ve seen in any game.

When I said that it’s generally the ladies who enjoy romance subplots more than gents, I was warned about sexism. So be careful!

I get that, but honestly… Literature and storytelling has romance. The only people I’ve met (apart from Knight, now) who are openly disgusted or against these things being incorporated into a story generally fit that demographic. And also, that’s why I put it blacked out.
