new victory screen encourages bad manners. it should encourage humility in victory and perseverance in defeat, but the stupid dances and fireworks encourage the victors to rub it in and the losers to leave. and now its anet sanctioned, where before corpse jumping and teabagging were only at a players discretion.

yeah, a full zerk mesmer can heal 7.5k every 20s. now take class X whose auto attack deals 2k/s and you see that the mesmer’s heal is nowhere near enough. ofc as a mesmer you won’t get hit nonstop but it’s a fact that you will take damage, no matter what you do.
if you play without supports you or the enemy team won’t live long which is a bad thing for conquest. matches would be extremely snowbally and frustrating, just as frustrating as when nothing dies at all.
Can’t heal enough? Isn’t that a good thing? Or do you want an immortal fight where people keep healing to full every now and then? People need to die in a fight. PvP flights that last forever are boring fights.
Next, it will only be a snowball if your team is much worse than the other one. They have 5 people, same as you. Rotate/map awareness are the things that make you win. Rotate 2 into a point that only has 1 defender? Great, you can kill them much faster now (assuming they nerfed extreme bunker). It’s the bunker that makes the match snowball, since as soon as you lose a point, it’s extremely hard to take it back.
You put out another straw man that I want people to play without support. Support has its merits, and should be a strategic pick based on the opponent playstyle. It shouldn’t be about slapping on a build, be invincible, go 1v2 and can’t die.
That’s very boring to watch, boring to play, boring to play against (proof is people dance in matches like that). We need to start getting together and ask ourselves. Where is the fun?
No build is invincible, most achievable self regen is like 2k health per second worth of healing by Scrapper bunker, zerkers can basic attack for more than that. Any other bunker can’t even reach 1.5k any reasonably besides Reaper if you count life force but they lack blocks/evades/invulnerability but have insane ally healing.
Protection is 33%, that means the zerker needs to deal 3k dps to overcome that. A dodge gives you 1s invul, so you basically has 3k extra “heal” per 10s without vigor. That’s another 3k heal the zerker needs to overcome. Then block/condi cleanses. The zerker can’t even have 100% dps up time either because they will need to dodge/heal avoid AoE.
Which zerker build you’re using that can kill a bunker Scrapper in 5 minutes?

Ele is so OP.
I got my hambow imba crit build to soloq and hammer an ele. He attuned to earth and I can’t crit! While I’m astounded by that imba-ness, the ele disappeared leaving me in shock. 5 seconds later he came back, so I was like Pin Down, and w t diamond skin. Then the Ele one shot me in 20 seconds with burning and Fire Grab. So imba! Much power! Many crits! Please nerf!!!
P.S: please nerf rtl and LF. Ele’s HP is too high, it can’t have more mobility, or else my hambow warrior can’t chase it around

Hi guys, long time no see.
I know a lot of you are frustrated about the nerfs. Here are a few things to try, which works for me:
- Sage classic D/D might stack (Fire/Water/Arcane or Earth/Water/Arcane)
Try Scrapper Rune and Leadership - Marauder glass staff (Fire/Air/Water)
I used this to get to Legendary before, so it’s not that bad. If you can out play people in previous season, it’s easier after this patch since there is not that much a nerf. Moreover, there will be less sustain, so if you can snipe well, the opponents will be in a loop of “omg -> try to heal -> can’t outheal your damage -> die”
A few things that you may want to try “less”
- Sustain Tempest
Everyone is trying to make Tempest works now, but people have to realize that Elemental Bastion gets a -18.5% healing nerf, even with the highest healing power amulet in PvP. Shout heals gets a -20.8% burst heal nerf. If you want a sustain build, Water + Evasive Arcana is a better candidate now. Bonus point that it’s more fun to play.

A lot of people like me don’t care whether it’s Ranked or Unranked queue. We just want to have the shortest queue time. It would help the gw2 pvp scene a lot if you allow us to queue for both at the same time. This is a small change that reduces queue time for everyone, and increase the match making quality by having a larger pool of people for both queues.

This helps a lot with streaming and spectators too. The viewers watching the stream will be able to understand the game much faster, without having to burn their eyes looking at the small conditions stacks.

With an equal skill signet Necro vs meta D/D ele, the Necro should win all the time.
As soon as the opponent is smart about when to interrupt/applying chill/corrupting boons, the Ele would be in trouble.
The best thing you should try to do is out rotate the Necro.

However, I think it’s better if we change it to annihilation, which means after the last team member is killed, it changes to next round and every body respawn. Each won round gives your team 200 point (essentially, it’s best of 5)

The elementalist now needs a serious buff if it wants to go head to head with a Reaper. The classes are so unbalanced together now it’s ridiculous.
Nope…all Ele will have to do is spec down Water and take a nice little trait called ‘Stop Drop and Roll’. We’re good…like the song says, Don’t fear the Reaper

Dodging while you’re having burning will trigger the cool down. Then the necro can just stack chill on you. You’re gonna have near perma burning on you, so the chance that your dodge cool down is not consumed by some random burning before you get chilled is very low. Yes, you can say “oh don’t dodge until you get chilled”. Yah, that would be a good advice.

Are you doing these changes to PvP / WvW only or is PvE again getting randomly nerfed because balancing PvP is apperantly more important than PvE ? Rev nerf is unnecessary for PvE although i was expecting the mesmer nerf.

For a thief, you can do better in spvp. Ele actually has pretty average damage in spvp. Look at what a warrior can do in one shot too. We shouldn’t complain about ele damage. That skill has a 45 seconds cooldown and a tiny hitbox (about half the cleave size of a backstab, and a huge delay before cast).

The 2/0/0/6/6 build trades damage for utility or survivability compared to 2/6/0/6/0 or 2/6/0/0/6 respectively and is perfectly fine.
The only reason why thief is so strong at the moment is the combination of fire/air sigils and the new rune of strength, which now makes up for the damage loss. Additionally, since most offensive power specs use rune of strength, the boonsteal of this spec is more useful now.This however is not a thief specific problem. Nerfing a class just because of a certain combination of rune/sigils is extremely short-sighted. The problem remains, yet the class is nerfed and eventually forced into that rune/sigils even more.
This is why we should totally nerf Rune of Strength. A rune set that allows people to play a lot more defensively, while still have great damage, is broken. This is the best way to nerf ele too.

MMR still needs to be there for good match making. Remember all the cry on forums about bad/blown out matches when ANet reset the MMR? MMR is stable now, so we have fewer complain about that.
Since MMR is an important factor for good match making, we can’t throw it away. The best we can do is to reward high MMR people more to compensate them for longer queue and harder matchup.

Faster queue would be the best; however, it’s a fact that higher MMR has longer query time. Higher MMR should have better rewards to compensate for that.

I just want the current bunker tempest nerfed hard
The current support (not bunker) healbot Tempest is 100% hard countered by a Reaper. Any half decent Reaper will win over the Tempest. If you want to test that, I’m happy to jump on my Reaper and duel your healbot Tempest.

Support Tempest has a variant that can solo Reapers all day long. Even the standard aurashare one isn’t helpless against them.

It definitely has less survivability too. Group support in both PvP and PvE are lacking. Tempest doesn’t provide support, it’s the warhorn that provides support. I wish we can take Warhorn without having to take Tempest.

Without DS, the Tempest build would be a joke in PvP. Right now most people would rate it at below average, only higher than Berserker.
If you can’t even break through 10% of a Tempest, it’s really your issue. Even on my condi Reaper, I could do it easily.

Conquest just needs an overhaul, e.g. you should be able to cap point without killing enemies if you outnumber them, so tanking for sake of tanking won’t be a problem…
I’m sorry, no offense intended, but you may need to read the title again. This is not about just Conquest. It’s about PvP and fun overall.
Yes, your “fix” will make it balance for a bunker meta. But what you will get is 5 bunkers rotating around trying to have more people standing on a point than the other team. No one will be able to kill each other, so they would just stand on a point and dance, waiting for another teammate to come so they have more people on a point and start capping.
In short, your fix will work for your goal “fixing conquest”, but it won’t work for the bigger goal “fix PvP fun”.

You shouldn’t die to any 1v1 if you play properly. You can fully nuke another class in 2s, from stealth. Mesmer is still the top class. I think it’s pretty fun too

Oops, I fogot this. If they are running turrets, they are not a decap engi, they are just an engi with a rifle. Kill turrets and engi will be useless.
lol right, I love how every engie build is considered decap. I’m reading the title on this thread and thinking…so why is it decap? So what the hecks the difference between a turret engie and a turret decap? Is it just to make it sound menacing? xD
Most people, when get constantly knockback/stun/disabled by an engi automatically assume it’s a decap engi. The vast majority of them don’t know that Engi has very good access to disables/immo too, without having to go full decap.
With a few CC, a celestial engi can burst pretty well, forcing the enemy to go into heal/survival mode (which wastes them a few seconds of attack). A few well timed immo/chill, and your CC will go off cooldown again, so you can knock them back again.
Engi is actually pretty fun to play, and the celestial build is exceptionally strong in 1vs1. I encourage you to try it; don’t settle down to rabid. There is a reason that top 100 engies on the teamq leaderboard are mostly celestial + strength rune engi.

The only thing Burn related about Eles that needs adjusting is Ring of Fire.
- Pyromamer’s Training 33% down to 25%*
- Ring of Fire 1/4 cast duration to 1/2*
Reasoning
Fire Fields just became a tool used to prevent ‘path of direction’ – people stop in front of it or they get stuck inside because they don’t have a dodge or condi cleanse. Eles beings this tool out every 10s… you can imagine its AoE usefulness now.There’s a reason why Guardian’s Purging Flame is 2x weaker.
- Casts every 28s
- Gets easily interupted thanks to it’s 3/4 cast time.
- 28s later… people have their dodge’s and condi cleanses back up.
Other than that, Ele burns are fine.
Conditions in general are actually subpar in competitive TPvP.
It’s hard to follow your logic. Those seem to be just random nerf request. How will a Ring of Fire cast time increase help you? People get burned when they walk in and out of the Ring, not on cast. Making it cast slower, but people still walk in and out of it multiple times, is meaningless.
The cooldown reduction nerf is even weirder. The rotation takes 15 seconds. You will need to time it so you have blast in Water anyway, which is 15s. Making it 33% or 25% is the same. It only nerfs Glass Staff PvE, not PvP.

No, I’m not kidding, lol. Let’s make it so that only the signed in player can see their own MMR. Everyone can see everyone Leaderboard Rating. Only the signed in player can see the matches history, and how many Leaderboard Rating they gained or lose per match. No one will see how their MMR changed per match, only the latest MMR number.

Water and Arcana need a hard nerf.
Baseline sustain need a big buff. Every weapon needs an innate way to handle bursts from Thief, Nerco and Mesmer for a dozen of seconds without having to trait heavily into Arcana and Water.
And fix Signet/Glyph/Arcane/Shout/Conjure. What Ele needs is better baseline survivability and low cool down defensive utilities. Reduce the dependence on Water/Arcana will open up a lot of build diversity and make fewer people rage on bunker Ele.

This has been said too many times already. ANet, give us the option to make the opponent displayed as a generic human. I’ll even pay real money for it. You can even make it a gem store item. Here is my money, please take it and give the players a way to normalize the opponents’ models.

You auto-join games (instead of looking for group), you can’t be kicked, you don’t have to deal with metajerks, just capture points and fight other players.
Completing reward track twice gives you enough tokens for a Gift, a few weapons and two armor skins.I’m not talking about actual PvP vs dungeons, but about convenience for solo player.
And do you have any idea how long that can take? I lost 6 games in a row the other day, and got 3 rewards from it. Also have to deal with whispers from people calling you this and that because you are better than them with your class. People calling the team names and going afk because the first 10 seconds of the match don’t go well. People leaving mid game or before match starts because they don’t like the map.
Quite fast, actually. I discovered PvP just a week ago, now I have 1 fully completed AC reward track + 14/40 AC (then it got disabled) + 19/40 Glorious.
After 59 played games.Only got trash talk when our group fought against a premade in Courtyard, otherwise it was pretty nice. I’m in Europe, if it matters.
60 games? With 15m per game including queue time.. Actually, let’s say it takes you 10m per game (for your benefit), that means 10 hours right there. I can do a round of AC in less than an hour (sometimes less than 30m for 3 paths). That rewards at least 5g and enough tokens for you to buy exotics. You spent 10 hours to get what, one AC reward track that rewards less than 1h of PvE?
Also, the people complaining about exclusive PvP rewards should realize how much exclusive PvE reward they have. PvP people can’t even have a legendary unless they do a full map completion.

There are two camps of people raging at the moment:
- Mesmer burst is too high, very hard to see from Stealth/Blink. I can sympathize with this camp, although I don’t fully agree with them.
- Ele burning is too high. What’s funny is that Ele Ring of Fire apply no burning on cast. You must manually walk in and out it multiple times to get 12 stacks for 3k burning. I don’t sympathize with this group.

Anything works in PvE. I ran a zero trait Tempest in PvE for a couple hours due to Hero Points gate, and I could kill anything, solo champions/Hero points and stuffs.
Haven’t tried WvW. (Why, lol)

I think this thread shows the difference between two factions: the one who can adapt to the fast pace combat, and the one who like to 1v3 poking each other. Good thing this thread shows that a lot of people enjoy the new meta
In LoL/Dota, map awareness is very important. If you get caught surrounded or 1v3, you will die instantly. You should be aware of/predict where the enemies are going. The game is much more strategic than just slamming to each other and spam buttons.

I think a 2m grace period is good. 1m like right now is too short. I have a good computer with an OC 4.9GHz cpu, and 1TB SSD, and it still take me ~40s to go from a full restart to back into the game. I can imagine most people would take longer than that.
On the other hand:
- please fix it so that launching gw2 while you’re in a match loads directly to the match instead of having the 2 map loads through HotM.
