1 of them got banned from a tournament before for something familiar (BJ) and he excused himself right away afterwards but still..

I dont even main ranger and I have 0 problem vs Thieves as Condi (Survival) or Power Ranger.

Sorry, but this is definenately a L2P issue. I normally dont say this but everyone seems to crawl out of their cave since one troll started asking for Thief-nerfs, everyone now does.

U have a big counter called “Channeling Skill Following Through Stealth” and others vs Thieves..

A Ranger complaining about a Thief.. doesn’t get through my head..

If we had such a big pool as you said, we wouldnt have to deal with bad matches.

Bad matches excist because there arent enough ppl to pick from with same MMR/Division at same time, leading in unbalanced matches often.

It seems when BnS came out, you’re delibrately pushing ppl away from this game towards BnS.

- Bad balance yet again: It seems every balance patch you seem to play heads and tail to decide which class should be OP again and which should (remain) garbage. What is your goal when it comes to balance? What kind of fights do you want us to do?

- Bad matchmaking: not to mention Unranked. This is so disgusting and frustrating. Premades vs Solo’rs (still? Are you kidding me?), facing high ranked when I shouldnt (stop putting very good players with bad players; be it opponents or our own team. Thats just wrong)
I understand the numbers of pvp’ers went down drastically (its quite obvious for anyone, unless you’re blind) but I would like to wait a minute or 2 more than being put vs premades (or 2/3 parties) with ppl much better or worse than me in my own team. We can’t simply work together as we’re not on the same level. Same counts for opponents ofcourse.

- Stream Activity: we can all agree GW2 PvP is slowly dying out as more and more favid GW2 streamers are leaving GW2. Docgotgame, TapDatMouse, Helseth (at times), and many others I dont rly care about but its quite obvious when watching the stream-numbers every single day. Isn’t that a sign, Anet? Instead of waiting (still) so long for every balance patch, you might invest more time researching and bring more balance patches untill you hit the nail. Because right now all you’re hitting is your own hand with every balance patch.

I suggest for once bringing back the PvP stream GW2 with Grouch. It won’t bring back all the people but it will bring some comfort carrying over more and more updates, for PvP’ers.

GW2 is still one of the best games I’ve played so far but it seems due its balance its falling behind.

I really wish you could revert back to the HamBow meta. Everything was viable back then and every build was fun. That was the golden age of GW2 PvP.

This is seriously getting out of hand with all the OP spikes in PvP.

  • Condi mesmers are useless but beyond broken in any 1v1 engagement when “SoloQing” (for so much SOloQ there.. >_> ) and should get a nerf LONG TIME AGO. They even destroy CELE ELES without doing any effort.
  • Cele Eles, like really Anet? Despite Tournaments even FIXING PVP FOR YOU, you do nothing. Im really disappointed in you, close of quitting the game. If you’re going to wait untill HoT release to balance, I’m out to Blade and Soul EU, which is far more balanced for a NEW GAME and atleast aiming to go esports.
  • Cele Signet Necros.. I dont think I need to explain this either..Right?
  • Taunt is beyond broken on Rangers, goes through dodges, EVERYTHING. Still no fix!
  • An example to what was promised us, as thieves, 10% heal increase on Withdraw instead they only gave us a 3s cd increase and no heal increase.. This was 2 months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still no 10% heal increase, a disgrace for no communication around it!
  • Matchmaking is an absolute JOKE. Evan Lesh even quoted himself: "Ranked will always have higher wait times than unranked because it has a smaller population of players. The only way to compensate is to make worse matches. This will be a different story when Leagues start though ". What kind of excuse is this??? Ppl are queue’ing to enjoy! Not to cry over ppl who can’t even understand Conquest and are chasing offpoint like some hotjoin heroes, ending the match in 500-100 or a 4v5. 6mins queue to get together with ppl who dont even get they need to cap instead of winning Mid Fight 24/7?

Get yourself together, despite going f2p, you’ll lose alot of potential ppl with the huge lack of PvP support. Balance every 6 months is a joke.

All you’re doing is throwing sand into people’s eyes with the F2P and HoT hype, so the misery you’re giving us in PvP is forgotten for an hour.

Veteran players like myself are sick of this! Be honest and admit your mistakes and deal with them asap instead of letting the PvP community run empty.

Im even getting toxic myself. Not because of the community, but due your lack of support in PvP

Oh and to top it off, I had new players yesterday in Queue, friends playing together. Wanna know what comp they were running HUH?

Don’t try to hide it because everyone with an eye for details will see the engineer symbol left upper-corner is very old.

General:

Burning is nuts right now. So is quickness. Some passive proc damage modifiers (i.e. zerkers power, power necro traits, mesmer mental anguish) are over the top.

Warrior:

Berserker’s Power – this thing is hyper nuts when combined with heightened focus and rampage. Mace/Hammer lockdown build is really strong now. Warrior will screw anyone without 2 stunbreakers or stability.

Necro:

Power necro in general instagibs people with DS 1, Lich is still giga cheese on open turfs. Condition transfer and corrupt boon with the condition changes is also pretty nuts.

Engineer:

Burning definitely out of control (25 stack instagibs). Homing rocket does a ton of damage for a passive proc.

Ranger:

Not too much aside from 1500m-2000m longbow camping cheese that was there before. Clarion bond is pretty crazy as well, but likely just due to a bug with out of combat pet swaps.

Mesmer:

Gods, I don’t even know where to begin. Permastealth 30k shatter spikes. Probably the most broken of all the classes so far. Good traits, just needs a tone down on a few things.

Guardian:

Not too bad actually aside from over the top burning. Haven’t seen too much broken stuff on guard aside from the nutty perma quickness signet that needs to be effect capped.

Thief:

Wow yeah, high risk but D/P backstab is kittenedly strong now and will asplode any zerker enemy in less than 2 seconds. Too bad the missed BS causing reveal wasn’t kept.

Ele:

Aside from also having out of control burning, still pretty much plays the same with mandatory water and arcana in every build.

  • Thief doesnt kill any zerker by 1 BS in 2seconds unless you’re running a kamikaze build which will end up you being in respawn more than fighting.
  • Eles feel too powerfull now, they are king in this patch with burning AND sustain for sure.
  • Mesmer “permastealth 30k spikes” is mechanically impossible in the game. U cant remain stealth and spike high damage. I do agree Mesmers are much more powerfull now, certainly even I can win vs thieves 1v1 with mesmers, but they’re easily countered aswel.
  • Eventhough burning is out of control now, I believe Engi’s are fine right now, considering they can be countered easier aswel than prepatch and might also bring more condi-necro’s back into the game

Bunker Meta

I disagree.

A bruiser*, which is what a lot of these builds should probably be classified as, should be able to kill say, an assassin.
That would be your zerker thieves, marauder mesmers, etc.
(To make a reference to another game, think Cho’ Gath & Mundo in LoL. They were capable of killing squishy targets, but were primarily tanks, and couldn’t do the same to someone as tanky as them)

Otherwise, the point of a bruiser/bunker is moot.

You just sit on a point, undying, and nothing in your situation changes in a 1 v 1, regardless of who you’re fighting.

The problem is that they’re too kitten bulky for a 2 v 1.

In other words, you need more than a +1 in a fight to win it at any reasonable rate.

The fact for me they can sustain 2v1’s makes me call them a bunker with too much damage..

Either sustain 2v1 and bring no support/dps to the team or die in 2v1 while having dps.
Bruisers (like cele meta before) made the game unbalanced as we all witnessed.

Even a bunker guard can’t bunk as good as mesmer and DS tempest anymore..
Why the hell do we still call it a Guardian? While all it does is Guard the respawn rofl

I agree as a Thief main.

Staff is beyond bad due the following reasons:

  • Auto-attack needs to be faster
  • Skill 2: doesnt go towards the target but right where you’re looking at, which is bad. Imo it should work like Heartseeker and go towards the target. It should also hit 1 target more while going through it.
  • Skill 4: too long casttime, range is fine.
  • Skill 5: too long casttime

Overall, the staff feels clunky, not smooth as I thought it was going to be. I do like the way its going but it needs some work here and there. And thats what a Beta is all about, which I highly appreciate tbh.

Another thing is the dodges in Dare Devil traitline, the GM traits.
2 of the reveal you in shadow refuge when someone is attacking you in the refuge.
While the dash (same as staff skill 2) feels clunky while engaging into melee.

I feel like Marauder/zerker staff isn’t going to be a thing, but more for a Hybrid (Cele).
Going into marauders with Staff is plain suicide right now.

Physical skills are meh.. The elite is fine and working as intented, though. But the physicals arent worth leaving Shadow Refuge and Shadow Step. Which only leaves one utility slot for a physical.

BWE 3 Daredevil Specialization Changes

Animation update: All dodge animations are in the process of being iterated on. With that being said, in the next Beta weekend each custom dodge ability has had its animation replaced with what is called a ‘stub’, or a placeholder.
These stubs aren’t necessarily what the final animation will look like and may not even resemble the final product remotely (Huge disclaimer: Everything’s subject to change). However, we needed to replace the previously existing animations due to issues that couldn’t be resolved otherwise (i.e. Lag).

We are looking forward to the new functionality, but there’s a few pains that we’re getting through. During the next beta weekend, you’ll find that the Leap combo finisher for Bounding Dodger only works if you land inside a field. This is not intended and we’re already working on the fix for it (it’s in testing now). For now, it’s going to be trickier to get your leap finisher from Black Powder. There’s also a bug in the skill facts that indicate that it delivers a blast finisher, but it in fact a leap and will remain as such.

Other stuff:
As I talked about last update, Channeled Vigor’s now being tested as a 0.75 second cast (down from 2.25 seconds). We’re also toying with the endurance/healing values. The role of this heal is shaping more toward being high spike healing for the thief.

My only concern now is the running animation.

Atm it looks like we’re holding something heavy, like a Hammer when running in combat-mode.

I honestly believe (and so do many others in this thread) the running animation should change, making it look like we’re holding something more light, as a Staff.

Running forward while holding our staff back with one hand is a typical Staff Martial Arts run and would love to see something like that.
