I’ve fought an eng who does 20-25 k condition damage in under 5 seconds.
Condition damage ignoring damage reductions is balanced out by the fact it also ignores damage amplifications. No traits, vulnerability stacks, or even special debuffs (like Frenzy) increase damage dealt by conditions.

Those two things together crap all over any class/build dependent on conditions to function. Could you imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth one would hear if there were an equivalent for power damage?

I hear that is more popular opinion than anything. I think a better idea would be to do a SurveyMonkey of the Guild you hate to fight the most would show a better result.
Wish there was someway for something like the old GW1 Hall of Heros (I think it was called, been a long time) Guild battles that you could watch (think it was guild battles, might have been smaller). Having a tournament system that that would be awesome.
Only the people who have not fought those guilds would think that.

Anet as you probably already know, a lot of us really appreciate what you have provide us GvG guild’s with the OS. To finalize the OS, it would be greatly appreciated if you can design the OS so that if you guess to a server, you can join that servers OS. Or set it up like the EOTM where there are multiple overflows and we can fight players from any server. After this, I promise we wont as for anything else
One time there was like 10 of you, some PvP players joined Obsidian Sanctum and after a minute nobody of your guild was alive

TBH im kind of ok with the dhuumfire scrap. The trait was bad and boring and so many builds hinged on it for dps. I honestly wished they completely deleted the trait and left a “stay tuned” message on an empty trait slot than this stupid change that will essentially do just that for many of us. Im ok with being underpowered for a duration of time in a certain spec if it means they actually notice what happened and start the rework process.
A couple of things i think they could do to soften the blow:
-Introduction of dire gear in pvp. They mentioned that different gear sets may become accessible in the pvp scene. This increase in survivability would help everyone with the attrition moaning we see on the forums, and would justify having a bit less DPS for added tankiness.
-Buff to FITG – 3 seconds to 4 or 5 OR stun breaker with FITG. This would solve a very big problem with necro vs warrior/stun classes that turns into an absolute joke faceroll. It would also give us another place to put the points into.
-5-10% buff to terror damage. Not a biggie but could help level things out
-Restore Weakening Shroud and put it somewhere else in the line. I would be willing to go 30 points into the precision line JUST to have that kitten trait back… Another huge contributor to the current warrior vs necro problem.
-Minor buffs to other condi skills/abilities that would help with the huge loss of dps from dhuumfire.
What i hate about this change the most is going to be the ever rising population of MM necros as its probably our strongest method of pvp play left. AI based pvp makes my skin crawl.

I will never understand why people play for ppt. There are to many broken mechanics against it. To each their own I guess.
It is GREAT NEWS that Dhuumfire is nerfed to the ground. Now perhaps our whole profession won’t have to balance around Dhuumfire anymore.
I support any kind of nerf against Dhuumfire. In fact this whole trait should be deleted from the game altogether and be forever forgotten alongside the Forgottens.

IMO they should just revert the Necro back to the day before Dhumbfire was added. Since Dhuumfire was added build diversity has been drastically reduced and so many things have been unnecessarily nerfed, traits, abilities, etc all things that would have never needed changing. It has done more harm to the class then good and I think it’s time the powers that be swallow their pride, admit fault to the bad design and get rid of it.
I very rarely use Dumbfire in my condition builds but I really like the change, my concern is that being it can only proc in DS with a 10 sec CD using LB which is easily dodgable IMO it is not worth the 30 pts to get it.
I still think the easiest and quickest way to balance the Necro is to revert it back to the day before Dhumbfire was added. I personally felt I had so many more build options, but I guess that is a whole other discussion.

Wow, it seems people really are still complaining about backstab. So I take it you stand still so that thief can land a clear hit? Only thieves that spec 100% glass gear and traitwise (no survivability, condi removal, healing, etc) can achieve such high backstabs, and they die incredibly fast. 90-95% of the thieves won’t be hitting you for even near that amount. There’s plenty of counterplay to punish a thief for trying to backstab you, but I guess it involves too much effort for players like you that rather just whine on the forums.
There are so many problems in this game, and backstab isn’t one of them. And what you fail to mention that even if your post was upvoted, the first reply that explains backstab isn’t a problem is upvoted by atleast as many people, by players who are actually half decent at playing this game.

I would rather see Dhuumfire removed, it was the WORST decision they made and PLENTY of people have proven that we are WEAKER now with Dhuumfire than before we got it….
There’s no reason to pair pve stats with grinding pve gear. It is 100% doable to provide pve stat armor that can be gotten for free from merchants like the current spvp gear.
Pve stats make for a far better game, but kitten adding grinding to spvp.

Anyone with the developers ever realized that it is an unfair fight if you can not see them because of the loadingtimefailure and the high output on damage?
Instead of running to the forums crying for nerfs, you should better analyze what has happened to you.
Let me help you out a bit:
Steal → CnD → Backstab
That means the thief was visible to you and at < 900 range away from you. Steal teleports him right to you. CnD hits you + stealth. Backstab from the back deals great damage.
Next time when a thief runs to you, you should be prepared for this combo. All you have to do is dodge the CnD.
Don’t expect your holy glory ascended stuff alone save you from death.

The huge health pool you have while in plague form is protection against condition damage provided you enter plague form before your health drops too low.
For the guy asking what is the point of being able to facetank damage for a long time if you can’t escape it. That is where your group comes in. If the enemy is focusing you, the longer you can stay alive gives your team more time to get kills on them. If the enemy is focusing you (the necro) it will free up your team to go full offense on them.

If blind is changed to make all attacks miss untill the condition is removed, wether that would make the game more interesting and necro’s instant artrition?
That would make thieves broken.
