Just curious- if GvG is your thing, why not make a guild team for team pvp?

Condition is better but not because it does more damage. Conditions have less barriers to do their damage and most often have to be cleansed with skills rather than dealt with passively. This means enemies use much needed skill slots to negate them rather than being more optimal at whatever their role is. Lastly, conditions provide effects other than damage which is where, in my opinion, their value actually comes from.
TLDR version, spec power damage and condi duration.
focus on Dungeons, Fractals and Raiding.
The problem with condi damage seeming so strong is the players. Either they’re running condi duration food and you’re not, you have extremely low vitality because you and everyone else thinks you only need toughness, or you aren’t running good condi cleanse. Then you come on the forums and cry about how condi is kittenting on you.
ye i am playing a guardian and i got full condition remove say hey to 4 spem condition ea sec i kittening remove that much ea sec. the problem it that guard dont get more the 20 k hp and its 1 of the lowest healing pool
If you are dying to conditions as a guardian you are doing something wrong.
I say this from a Zerker Guardians perspective.
You dont need to blow your condi cleanse on 2 stacks of bleeding, get runes of the hoelbrak, dont sit in red AoE’s, use blinds effectively.
With our rules we’re lucky if we reach 5k condition damage. Conditions take time to set up and even with the setup they’re pressure rather than burst, so it’s not really a fair comparison

I was defeated by a condi build, please nerf conditions Anet! My tank build was unable to stop every type of build, please nerf stuff Anet. I was beaten by a player, please nerf PvP Anet.

There are far more power/direct damage builds running around then condi builds since each class only has 1-2 condition builds because they are limited to only a few weapons in most cases. It is impossible for there to be more condition builds then direct damage builds unless your class has more condi focus weapons then direct damage weapons which isn’t the case for even Necromancers.
As far as what you actually see roaming. What is usually needed to have a successful roaming build?
Mobility/escapability and adaptability for more then 1 enemy or in other words the ability to possibly 1vX.
What classes have builds that CAN meet the above criteria? Warriors, Mesmers, Engineers and Thief, Elementalist. So that means many warriors, mesmers, engineers, thieves, and elementalist.
So it’s condi meta because those are the best classes to roam on? Engi is probably the most consistent condi build you will come across of those classes.
If you come across 10 thieves and 15 mesmers in 1 night of roaming and they happen to be all conditions that doesn’t mean it is a condi meta lol. Even in the player created game of “roaming” then it means it is a thief and mesmer meta.
I would need some video unedited roaming for somone to convince me that the majority of Warriors are running condi, same for Guardians, and Elementalist.
Thieves and Mesmers dominate roaming they set this “meta”. Instead of pointing the finger at what type of damage they are running count how many professions types you come across. *

Ow look its this purposely misinformative dogma again.
There is no condition meta. PvE is power, WvW zergs is power, WvW roaming is also dominated by power, sPvP is dominated by power.
These posts pop up a lot, and you know what else they have in common? A complete lack of any evidence to support the wild claims that are made in them by the Condition-haters.
Every one of these threads always end up dying when the condition-haters get logic’d out of the thread, but then they just go around and make the exact same thread again. Which will then also get logic’d and dies.
And the cycle just repeats itself over and over.
the reason why torment and confusion is prevalent is because most people are oblivious as to what happens if you just ignore them and carry on.
This means, you still move about, spamming 1 and ends up killing yourself.

Now when you are hit you get every single condition applied to you for 15 seconds (25 stacks of bleed and torment). Cannot be dodged or blocked. Still knocks you down. Still has gigantic aoe.

Personally I would only make it a stunbreak. But necros do need stability on a utility somewhere. The lack of active defence is disgraceful and having a class which can be completely stunlocked doesnt seem like good design. Being tanky doesnt help anyone if you are being used as a pinball.

Bind scroll wheel to left click. All you have to do is keep scrolling and you can go through a whole stack in about 15 seconds.

People need to actually run and compare the numbers instead of arguing based on “teh feelz”.
Condition damage pays a heavy price for being able to bypass armor. It just doesn’t scale up well outside of small group/dueling.
I USED to think conditions were OP too (check my post history from a few months ago). But then I got better at the game. Burst simply is more efficient and I play power builds on most of my profession. My main engi is condition only because I prefer pistol/shield and bomb kit playstyle and power builds do not work well with those.
Keep the models, just make them Norn sized.

I build exclusively for power. I don’t have much of an issue, i kill most people i fight. That may be down to my playtime on my main though (1k hrs). I’ve never found it unfun to fight condis. It never occured to me that it could be infuriating to. Fighting against someone that relies heavily on stealth is tedious but condis? lol. /cleanse

So I was on my necro the other day in WvW. I was solo flipping a supply camp. I wasn’t paying enough attention. Two, well coordinated Guardians caught off guard and killed me. So yes, I agre with your example. Direct damage needs a nerf.

It’s ridiculous that warriors actually have some sort of weakness. They already have the highest armor, highest HP, highest mobility, ridiculous HP regen, near immunity to all conditions, multiple access to stability, immunities, blocks, and still hit like a truck. God forbid that if you actually manage to survive being chain stunned into next year, you might put out a blind.
Is this thread a joke? Necro is currently in a great place right now. Condis are the current meta in PvP and WvW.
