Hey guys, I just created a quick web page (minimal interface) to figure out the cheapest way to make a Zephyr Box. It uses real-time data from gw2spidy and is updated every few minutes. I hope this saves everyone some time and money!

Notice this today in Frostgorge.
Devious Teesa in Frostgorge stays level 80 in all areas of the map. However my level 80 along with the rest of the guild downscales to 74 in some parts. 74 vs level 80 who is bolstered because of the 10 of us fighting her becomes impossible to kill in the allocated time.

Please either give us something to spend Guild Merits on or increase the cap. We have 250/250 merits and the only thing we use them on is the Guild Heroes Banner, which we can only queue up one at a time.
With that, we spend about 15-20 merits per week, and earn 110 from missions. This is making us lose interest in guild missions, which has been the main focus for our entire guild for some time. Losing interest in missions will most likely lead to losing interest in the game.
You can’t put legendaries in the forge. It does not show up as an option and you cannot drag them in.
The only legendaries you can put in are Sunrise and Twilight – combining both gives you Eternity.

Having a defeatist attitude before even trying content gets you no where and makes your entire argument invalid.
Complete arrogant nonsense. I know what I can and cannot do. If there is a spot in the game where I can fall, I will. If that means I die, I simply never go back there. Ever.
Dying is never fun, but dying because some dev thinks it will funny to have players fall to their death is even worse. The next game I play will not have any jumping puzzles.
8 months is not new. Period.
If you fail the puzzle you don’t get the rewards. It’s that simple.
It’s got nothing to do with failing it. The guild actually completes it. It just doesn’t give anyone the chance to catch up and get in once others have completed it.
I assume you guys haven’t done the puzzle yet.
It doesn’t quite work that way.
Yes it does. You’re supposed to do it as a guild.
- Don’t start the puzzle until everyone is at the start and ready
- Don’t enter the elevator until everyone is caught up (don’t press any of the buttons either!)
- Keep four people standing on the buttons switches so everyone can get through
- Don’t travel alone in the maze and get yourself killed in some random corner
- Stragglers can port to the WP and go NW so a mesmer can port them to the beginning of the maze part
It’s really not that difficult and tons of guilds have successfully completed it with no issues.
Yes, that’s all well and good but that 1. Wastes time and 2. Shouldn’t even be needed.
If someone dies at the END from skritt or jumping or anything, they have to go to the START and do it all again. That’s not exactly fair play for a guild mission. You’d need to wait for at least 4 other people and hope they can get it done in time before the maze ends. If they get unlucky and there is like a minute left on the maze then they have to do the maze.
That’s not fair or fun. Both times I’ve done challenge there have been people in my guild (and yes, in one instance it was me) at least 5 people didn’t get the reward chest, despite getting upto the maze. Just because they didn’t walk in the room in time meant they didn’t get the reward. How is that fair?
If your guild gets to the end and you have participated in most of the puzzle you should get the reward. As I said earlier, it isn’t like rush where you still have a legitimate and fair chance to get the reward after it’s completed.
Also, those four people wont get rewards if they stay there.
Say a guild needs to organise better all you like, but if a single person dies and gets put back at the start, it’s not fair. A guild is left with a choice of “send more people back to help this person through, possibly screwing up the puzzle or making even more not get rewards” OR “just tell them bad luck and to try on their own”
That’s not in the spirit of being in a guild. That’s not fun.
If I’m going to pay money for this game and support them by buying gems I feel I get the right to demand that content be fixed. If they’re selling it and attempting to promote it (like there were when missions were introduced) I expect them to actually be fully working, fair and fun content. This is none of those.
I realize that the timing looks suspicious, but the maintenance update had nothing to do with the event change.
Good or bad, this patch or another, the change occurred and unless this is some new cosmic intervention in programming I’m not aware of, there are no patch notes to reflect it so people draw your own conclusions as far as honesty.
Stealth changes breed conspiracy theories.
Every time we have an update people insist that this or that has been nerfed. Sometimes we’re right sometimes we’re wrong, but regardless, this is bad for the game; it causes confusion and mistrust.
I’m not saying that Anet must include every minor change in the update notes, but by this point in time, Anet should know which changes we would like to see listed and which changes we don’t really care about.
I complain because it seems to replace an item of value from chests I can open one time per day.
If it is on a separate table fine. But I don’t want to see this special interest only item replacing a normal roll item.
I don’t get the point of whining about what you consider whining, either. See how that works?
Hey laza!
i know, you’re a very skilled ele
anyway, in the original post i said an ele could have atleast 30 arcane, 15 water to be competitive, i tried also many build, even my usually build, 10/15/0/15/30 with full arcane utility, zerker, it’s quite good, very high dps, decent survavibility.
but this don’t change the fact the our other traits except arcane/water are still underpower, near to useless, if we spec near to glass cannon, like you, we don’t still have enough burst to compensate the lack of survavibility.
in a similar setup, a thief, mesmer, can outshine us in burst damage, and in survavibility due to the stealth mechanics.
when we talk about bunker, we are exceptional, but when we talk about dps, we are not so good.
for example, if i rtl to a gc war, for bring him down i have to use rtl, fire 2-4-5 + arcane blast, arcane wave, when a thief use backstab, backstab, gg, a mesmer sword 2+shatter.
they have our burst only with 2-3 skill, reserving the utility for escape.
hovewer they don’t are as good as us when we talk about bunker spec.
even dev’s says that we have only one viable competitive build..
my op was provocative to all ppl that complain about x/d bunker ele.
The argument that WoW did not have it for years after launch is not a very strong one. If the world worked that way, we would have very little progress.
An analogy: imagine if cell phones worked that way. Well iPhone took 6 years to get LTE. That means that any newcomer should wait that long before LTE, right? Wrong. They need to have LTE at launch in order to remain competitive. If not at launch, they need it shortly thereafter. If they wait 6 years, then they are 6 years too late. PS: LTE, for those that are unaware, is 4G data speeds up to theoretical 100 Mbps.
My point is, to remain competitive in the market, Guild Wars 2 should have the base features present in other MMO’s. This includes, but is not limited to, a LFG tool.
Anyone who comes in here to tell me to use an external website to mimic a function that’s integral to the game can save their time and not post. Guild Wars 1 utilised a party system had an LFG working, and that game was around for SEVEN YEARS before this one came out.
So ArenaNET, why no LFG?

No life/dedicated gamer/heavy grinder/TP mogul/Gems to gold/early exploiter/etc.
There are many ways one could achieve such a feat.
I feel that the current prices of precursors is a bit outrageous… and you are right in some aspects.
Some people got in early with the precursor market with the dusk exploit…. and they will always be thousands of gold ahead of everyone else.
It really is unfortunate that Anet did not remove these items from players’ accounts, and instead allowed them to gain an insane amount of wealth.
Some people borrowed money from friends, made a legendary, sold it immediately for a profit, and then had enough money to make 2 more legendaries…. (and so on…)
Some people are credit card warriors, and they dump a lot of real-life cash into the game.
Some people are just really lucky with precursor drops.
Heavy grinding… i see the best way of “grinding” is CoF path 1 repeats…. 6 min runs, at 7g/hr. …and that’s a bit steep…. but also plausible. The thing tho is that DR will lower your profits after that initial first hour. Enough grinding and you will eventually get the cash to afford a precursor tho.
All these things play a bigger role than “no life/dedication”
I’ve played the game almost every single day for hours and hours every day…
I have no life, and I am completely dedicated.
…and I still don’t have a legendary or a precursor.
I’m not sure if this is an issue on my side, but just incase.
Attached screenshots speak for themselves. =) First shot is set to “Best performance” and the next “Best appearance”.
The location is the path to the vista right under Rally Waypoint in Straits of Devastation.
I play the game on my laptop, so I usually put the graphic settings that don’t really matter fairly low. Such as the “environment”.
As you can see, when you set it as low, certains objects completely fail to render at all. Normally this wouldn’t matter much, but in cases like these where the object is a platform which you must jump on to get to the vista, it does become a problem. Especially for those who have never done the vista before and don’t know if there is a place to jump to next or not. There may be other areas with similar problems too.
We’re all obviously quite fond of gw2, otherwise we wouldn’t be playing and we wouldn’t be taking the time to contribute to the forums. So let’s start off on that positive note.
As much as I love the game though, I have serious concerns with how Anet has handled player feedback, and their communication. When it comes to certain important issues with the game, they simply will not respond under any circumstances. When it comes to trivial issues, you’ll see them posting a few hours after a thread goes up. I can overlook them not responding if they were indeed making progress on addressing the issues, and just trying to avoid the flaming/bad PR that comes from controversial topics on the forums – but for a wide berth of issues there hasn’t been any progress made, nor have we gotten any response.
I’d post the laundry list of threads that have cluttered the forums (all on pretty much the same topics) because we can never get an official response to the problem (that’s meaningful, if we get one at all), so it just keeps getting brought up again and again.
i.e. DR and loot rates. Anet started their own thread almost 2 months ago, it’s grown to 30 pages long, with real data in there that they requested, and they haven’t said a word. Not even a thank you for asking players to do a job they themselves should be doing. If you look at the past threads over the last few months, people just keep creating new ones on DR and loot issues and they just get ignored. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Share-your-data-about-perceived-strange-drop-behavior-here
- as a sidebar, how long ago was it that they said vets and champs would be guaranteed to drop loot? Still no answers…
i.e. The economy and pre-cursors. How many times do we have to see new threads pop up about these problems before something is said on forums, or put into a patch. It’s absurd. I’ve already made my twilight, but I care because when this many people are that frustrated, they leave the game. Instead of trying to lessen the frustration and open up communication on the issue, Anet remains silent. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happens when someone has been frustrated for months and the only people that can provide answers are no where to be found. They’ll just leave.
While the laundry list can go on and on, I’ll leave it at those two (most frequent) issues so this doesn’t become an even larger wall of text.
No one is asking for Anet to respond to every thread all day every day. But I can’t be the only one worried about the state of management when they don’t respond to their own thread after 45k views and 30 pages of posts (which would probably be even larger had it not been stickied up at the top where no one looks imo).
Threads need to ‘promote constructive discussion’ on these forums or they get deleted. Hopefully this doesn’t get deleted, and hopefully Anet will take a good hard look at their communication over the past few months. Maybe we’ll have better luck asking them about their communication instead of asking about the same specific in-game issues over and over again.
Sigh. These are the rings we know of so far:
https://d2vn94glaxzkz3.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Ascended-EN.png
Primary attribute here is MF, secondaries are power and precision.Exotic combined stats:
7% MF
63 power
63 precisionAscended combined stats:
10% MF
68 power
68 precisionThat’s a 43% increase on the primary attribute and an 8% increase on the secondaries.
There’s a 10% to 20% step between other rarities:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Item#QualityGo figure what that means for a full ascended set compared to an exotic set.
Oh man, going from 3000 power to 3005 power is such a game breaker. +8% of 3000 is 240. If I got 8% more power, then I would be at 3240 power, but this item is giving me 3005 power total. Yes, going from 63 to 68 is 8% difference, but OVERALL, its very small.
If you all get owned in WvW by someone who has 5 more power than you, you’re doing it wrong.
There are many things wrong in this post. Let’s start from the start :
- you do not have 3000 power. Maybe 3000 attack though
- you can equip two rings
- the Ruby equivalent ring is bound to have more than a 5 power increase since it’s the main stat and the example we were given it was a secondary stat
- the power increase will be effective on ALL your gear so it adds up
- the ascended weapon will not only have more power, it’ll also have more damage in base so it’ll increase your total attack by even more
Before the patch you have 75% to get 80lv item.
Check for “item”

Ah, so the difference is actually greater. (That’s a good thing)
I thought it was anything within 50 levels. It was in fact anything with 1/3 of your level.
If you were level80
Before: Areas level55~80 for gear your level
After: Areas between level1~80 for gear your level
Any complaint about drop-rate is pretty anecdotal and not to be trusted. The patch has only been out for about a day, and getting any level80 drops at all in areas below 54 is completely new – So the intended purpose of the change is an overall success: We can go to any zone freely and still expect drops of our level.

Currently, sPvP players who do not play in paid tournaments get the shaft in this game. Besides getting rank, there are no rewards for sPvP players. The only way an sPvP player can acquire anything from the gem store is by buying gems for real money, since sPvP offers no gold rewards. This is why I suggest being able to buy gems with glory. This system would be akin to gw1, where all forms of pvp gave balthazar faction, which you could use to buy zkeys and sell for a decent ammount of coin. Something like 5000 glory = 100 gems. Even for those of us who don’t want to strictly play sPvP, this offers a nice incentive to play since otherwise we feel like we’re wasting time that we could spend farming for our legendaries/ascended gear.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
The game isnt dead not yet at least. They made some horrific design choices without thinking through the consequences.
Maybe you werent on the overflow as that is one of the best ways to get a group together.
Add that to the mass player exodus you have what feels like a dead game. I think they sold a lot of copies but have a poor retention rate. As of right now there is only 1 place to get loot and gear so no one goes anywhere else. Add in the incredible grind and people just decide to move on since they cant get rewards for playing the way they want. The devs have also lost a lot of credibility over the past few months and that has also had a chilling effect.
I cant tell you if people will return because who knows but none of my original friends and guildies are in game.
Glacial ones are just uncorrupted ice, I guess. They drop from regular ice elementals. Not sure why there’s a need for two ice lodestones, but that’s what we got :/
We got doubles of all the lodestones-
Glacial Lodestones (Ice elementals) → Corrupted Lodestones (Icebrood)
Molten Lodestones (Embers) → Destroyer Lodestones (Destroyers)
Charged Lodestones (Air Elementals) → Crystal Lodestones (Branded)
Onyx Lodestones (Earth Elementls) → Piles of Essence (Risen)
I’m expecting to see new pairs and new recipies using them as Bubbles and the Sixth dragon are introduced.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Mission Accomplished!
Some of this has already been explained, but…
The longer a particular enemy has been alive, it will award you a bonus in experience. That’s because if the enemy has been alive in a really long time, granting you a big bonus in experience, then you are likely the first player to come that way in a while (or at least to encounter that particular enemy). Sometimes when you find places like that, you can make a lot of experience just because you explored off the beaten path. So, they are rewarding you for that exploration.
Isn’t that the one that increases the longer a given enemy has been alive in the world? So killing something that just spawned will be 0 (or close to it), killing something that has been around for a long time will give you a bigger bonus?

My feedback? Focus on fixing the permastealth culling issue/rendering bug. Once that is fixed, you can work on properly balancing the Thief class.
