Please Please add that new melee martial art class (that chick with the purple lightning was amazingly cool looking)

Agreed, the Master of Lighting’s attacking style were really nice.
So sad to see Master of Sun died though… Would like to see her fighting style and she looked best of them.

Did we even play the same content Aden Celeste? Because Tangled Paths was rubbish.

Loved the new story patch, really good fight too in my opinion! I’m really impressed with the art direction going on, I’m an artist myself and I was literally blown away with the little details, the conversations… jezz, you have restored my faith!

Please Please Please upgrade dungeons with mobs as good as the ones you are introducing! With short HP but strong attacks!

Please!!! update all maps with a mentality similar to how you made these new maps, I mean, they are beautiful sure but wow these new maps seem so alive, not including the players there!

Please Please add that new melee martial art class (that chick with the purple lightning was amazingly cool looking)

Again, Excellent stuff, cant wait to play the next thing!

Why change how you get Carapace Armor Pieces!

Well, that’s your personal opinion. Personally I found the instances more fun than the zone. For me, Silverwastes basically just devolved into a “run to event, kill a mob to tag it, run to next event. Do Breach if up. Repeat” sequence. It was fun for the first few times, but then it just turned into a farming rotation. I couldn’t stand it for more than 2 rounds at a time. It was just so mind-numbingly repetitive, and the fast respawn of the events means there’s no real downtime either.

She did acted really strange this time and she has been so weird ever since we arrived to the Silverwastes land.
My thought is that Caithe might be somehow brainwashed, controlled by Mordremoth.
I do hope it has to do something about the Nightmare Court since I absolutely love them. Faolain need a bigger role in the story, specially when Mordremoth is on the loose!
I am really exciting about the next story...
It just getting better and better..

Well, with regards to the last point, Faolain knows that if she can isolate Caithe from the rest of her friends, she’ll have a much easier time convincing Caithe to “join the dark side”. As such, it MIGHT have been Faolain at work, intending to blackmail Caithe later with the old “Your friends will never take you back. You’ve always been sneaky and suspicious. They’ll never believe your innocence. Stay here with me, dearheart. You know I’ll always love you.”

That said, my personal theory is more that it’s either Canach or Anise disguised as Caithe who took the egg, or Caithe does indeed know something about why she had to take the egg. (It would be a glorious twist if an upcoming LS chapter reveals that YOU have become corrupted/influenced by Mordremoth after stepping into Omadd’s machine, and Caithe has to keep the egg safe from you, because the moment it falls into your hands, Mordremoth will seize mental control of you and direct you to bring the egg to him.)

I was expecting the very same thing! It wouldn’t surprise me if Modremoth tried to control us.

But I thought that maybe Caithe might take the egg and run to Faolain. As baseless as this might sound, it might “purify” her? But then that’s just positive thinking on my part. What you say is the most likely direction of the story.

“An ill-fated love.”

Something that kept jumping in my mind ever since Episode 4, what if Caithe is actually Faolain, we know for a fact Faolain is a Mesmer so it is not impossible for her to disguise herself as Caithe to mislead us.

I cant help but feel that it is entirely plausible that we are looking at this from the wrong angle.

Caithe doesn’t openly stalk you, she doesn’t act queerly in front of others.

That said, when she said no time to explain I still wonder if this is genuine Caithe but she deceived us for some benevolent albeit very foolish idea such as trying to solo care for the egg.

Dude, you are complaining about your full zerk pets diying easy. You are aware of that right?

Yes, additional defenses will make your pets last longer.

Yes, reducing your damage with not zerk gear, a shocker, will reduce your damage. But your (actually OPs issue) is that his clones/phantasms don’t survive. Well duh.

Let me have one more go at this.

Returning to the OP, his problem is (am I even getting that right, cause it’s never really explained) that his phantasms die too quick. So quick, that they don’t even attack aka. “blew up on summoning” → “This exact same issue happens with this chapter” (mind you, this is hard for me to believe)
Right?

I have not noticed this issue. Yes, my clones/phantasms die after 1-2 attacks, just like any other solo boss. Thus came my advice of maybe not waiting for popping out 3 phantasms and hoping for them to survive, but instead actively using them aka. shatter.

If OPs phantasm do not even do the first attack, he is either:
1. Exaggarating
2. Running so low defenses that it really makes phantasms useless

For this I suggested getting A – clone boosting traits, B – clone boosting skills, C – not full zerker gear

While this will lead to missing out on some damage that full zerk provides, it seems OP is loosing “potential 60%+ of his damage”.

So what to do? Buff up your clones to a point where they can do a successfull attack, and shatter afterwards for bonus damage, as they will die anyway.

For some strange reason my clones manage to survive with a 50-50% mix of zerker and celestial.

Sorry, I didn’t know people actually liked standing in the corner, and mashing 1. Oh wait, In this case, it’s not even mashing 1, it’s summoning 3 illusions and standing still to win.

Never mind adjusting to the game/challange, no lord, heaven forbid. Ask for nerf, ask for unkillable phantasms, sure.

You know what, I think Full Nomad Guard should get a damage buff, cause it takes him too long to kill bosses. Seems only reasonable, no?

Okay, let’s go into a little detail here.

I will assume that OP is using the build posted in his signiature. Full zerk.

His suggestion is to make illus/clones immune to damage.

Wow. I mean, by god wow. Sure, why not, summon your 3 illusions then go /sleep in the corner.

Did you know that the downside of going full damage is low survivability? Did you also know that phantasms/clones inherit the caster stats? Does that explain why maybe your clones die such a horrible death?

Counter method#1: Don’t go full zerk. Never go full zerk man.
Counter method#2: Use traits that increase the health of clones/illusions (yes, trait change is free, try it)
Counter method #3: Use Signet of the something that increases illusions health

Don’t want to counter casue, by gawd, changing gear/traits for once is too hard? Rather roll with the tide?

Roll tide method#1: Summon phantasm, let phantasm attack, press f1
Roll tide method#2: Think and not spam. gasp Use your phantasms when they can actually do damage, and not while, for instance huge Aoe is up at champ Terragriff
Roll tide method#3: Actually gonna cheat here cause this yet again, needs trait swap. Get Debilating Dissipation so you even benefit, when your clones die, and are not shattered.

So hard.

Secret note: Every mesmer has access to shatter, you don’t need to be a “shatter mesmer”.

Ok, so it’s obvious that this is a lie, but just to call it out:

  • Full Zerker Elementalist: Not getting 1-shot. You cannot be more squishy, so sorry, you’re making that up.
  • “Thrown against bosses”. You don’t. There’s only 3 fights in this game which seek you out, all the others you can freely move away, study the fight, come back. The 3 exceptions are only 1 per character anyhow due to being related to the orders.
  • Bosses have secrets? If you mean stuff like the blue keep boss being healed by the poison bubbles, well, clock on those poison bubbles and read their description. It’s not exactly rocket science.
The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Teragriff Boss and Thresher Unfair to Melee

And why exactly shouldn´t there be different situations in game that favor one type of combat over others?

I think there’s room for this, but it shouldn’t be in the story. The story should be for every player, every build. Perhaps different builds should have to use different methods, but those methods should all be available and equally viable. For example perhaps a boss might have a “melee burn phase” in which range is worthless, and a “ranged burn phase” in which melee is worthless, or perhaps zerkers would be able to do a ton of damage in a short window but be too squishy to survive attacking during other phases, while tankier builds could deal less damage but constantly.

But however they achieve it, all builds should work for story missions.

Now in open world, they have more flexibility. They have four Mordrem bosses, for example, and it’s ok to have one be weak to range, one to melee, one to condi, etc., so long as each build type has one that they are good at, they can choose to focus on that one boss. But if it’s a linear chain, in which each player is expected to beat each boss, then the onus is on ANet to make each player’s build viable against that boss.

you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”

I’m not sure “unfair” is the word. I mean, the “zerker meta” has been basically “forcing” ranged professions to go melee since the dawn of time. Perhaps it’s time that some fights benefit players who prefer range.

As far as the Thrashers go, they’re ok. If I can’t stun and I’m full melee them I step out of their AoE for 2 seconds.

The Boss… yea… I found him irritating on Guardian, even with a Scepter equipped. Dem slow moving orbs…. The thing that particularly annoyed me was the Zephyrites in that instance. The boss would stop and they’d shout “Now’s the time to get close TROLOLOLOLOL—-LOL—LOL—LOL—LOL”. So you get close, and it activates one of those skills that deals silly damage from graspers out of the floor. Dodging out as fast as I could only left me with about 100 HP and a disinclination to take any advice from Zephyrites ever again.

All in all the most irritating thing about both boss fights in this patch (Terragriff and Predator) is the sheer volume of hit points they seem to have. I have to confess I got pretty bored waiting for the Terragriff to stop running around, and whilst chipping away at the Predator’s HP pool.

All PvE guardians should be carrying a scepter anyway.

Btw, for the instace with the thresher and the roots, there’s a flamethrower nearby that you can pick up and use to kill them all with a couple passes of the autoattack. You need to do this for one of the after-story achievements. I’m not sure if the flamethrower is available when doing the story itself though.

I blame death animations. Instead of skritt dying, when their hp reaches zero, they could instead retreat and dive underground or something. Not everything needs to die when its hp reaches zero.
