Well by some miracle thick leather has risen to 10c….
at least according to gw2spidy. I’m assuming that must be an error because there was over 7,000,000 units listed at 8c as of 2 hours ago. I can’t get ingame atm to confirm but wow…
This market is either going to crash hard tomorrow or if the boxes are worth it then it might continue for a while. Lets hope the patch brings a balance on the drop rate of these mats as well.
Don’t forget about the (possibly) huge explosion of gold that will hit from people earning their achievement rewards all at once. This will be an interesting day indeed.
Great even more currencies to buy useless crap.
with the AP rewarsd system, i believe you just “unlock” goodies as you obtain more points. so you don’t have to “spend” them per se. not really a currency in that sense since you don’t actually “lose” it.
if its useless, can i assume you don’t care about them? if so, then it shoudln’t bother you, no? ; ))

@ProphetOmega very well said.
I think it’s very good to have content previews, for the reason stated above, to keep people informed and wanting to come back, but I also agree with others who say that the content we are shown is too much before the event even goes live.
There is a fine line between not enough information and too much information, and it is not easy to find that nice middle ground, but I think if we continue to voice our opinion about it, Anet can find that middle ground
No one is forcing you to check the previews or live streams. This is no different then MMO champion in World of Warcraft, leaking tons of information before it was official.
The biggest part of this patch is the achievement upgrade, living story is really just a bonus. There’s also a potential Necromancer nerf as well, so something to look forward to.
Don’t use Dulfy then -_-
I make PvP & WvW videos
I’m certain that dulfy and other players who are part of the test server krewe have signed non-disclosure agreements that forbids them from revealing what they know to players who are NOT part of the test server, at the risk of getting their accounts banned. I’m unsure if they’re also forbidden from acting on the knowledge they have by stocking up on materials like Silk/Thick Leather before patches hit, but I imagine they are too. Even the devs are forbidden from using their insider knowledge to profit from it (or by just using their admin access to spawn items for themselves).
The recent change where information about the new content is being released one day prior to the actual release is new though, but given the fact that the info is released to the entire public at the same time, fortune favours those who are quicker on the grapevine and act faster on information, just as it does in real life.
As for me, I’m selling my personal stash of Silk and Thick Leather the moment I get home while the price is up.
I can honestly say that never occurred to be before. It is true though. The sneak peeks to provide a large advantage to Dulfy.
However on the flip side, for the amount of work Dulfy does for this community for free she deserves to be paid large sums of ingame gold at the very least. I hope she makes 1000’s of gold with this information as some form of compensation.
For a Black Widow Spider, you just need to get a certain number of points in your HOM from GW1. Once you have the required number of points (I don’t remember what they are,) sign on to GW2, open your inventory, and double-click the special token that will warp you to the HOM. You can get a Black Widow there.
As for your other concern: WELCOME TO GW2!
I’m not sure if I should applaud or be concerned about your hoarding skills

Why do you presume that — lacking any numbers to bolster your position — you can better predict the future of a game than the people running it — who have those numbers?
Scenario 2
I play the trading post each day and my returns are roughly 15-25% returns (and I think that is low as I am still learning the economy). Now lets say that instead of investing in dragon coffers, you flip other items and make a conservative 15% each day. By the end of WEEK ONE you would have more than doubled your money. By the end of the two months, you would have made $438,399,875 or 43,839 gold. This translates to a 6,521% return PER MONTH.
This is exactly like the newcommers to the stocktrading market expecting to be able to make 5% per day by daytrading and start calculating ridiculous numbers.
Like in the real market there is the trading fee’s. If you make 65x your money back every months you will soon own all the gold in the game.
The niche market you can get “15-25% return” per day dont have anywhere near enough flow for you to be able to do it with any meaningful ammounts of gold. Of course there will be temporally things like new event items, but even those cannot return 15-25% per day in any meaningful ammount.
And you say you return 15-25% per day “ONLY” because youre new? wow.. I must be really really behind with the economy. But… Ok… Since you like ridicolous calcalutions lets go. I assume you will soon be able to make 25% per day. (no fee’s incl)
You start with 1 gold.
After 1 month you have 65 gold.
After 2 months you will have 4225
After 3 months you will have 274625
After just 4 months you will have more than 17 million gold !! And its so easy! Cause you only have to make 25% per day af your gold.
My point being, flipping dosent work with any meaningful ammount because of the trading volume in the game. Noone can return 25% per day for any long period on any worthwhile ammount of gold.
Dont get me wrong. I also have things that gives me 25%+ and done it for months. BUT, its only a small income cause of the gold flow in the game and cant compare to the gold you can make buying the right thing at the right time.
And dont forget all the work. If you invest, you just buy, sit back and relax. If you flip youre constantly in the risk of being undercut and your money will get frozen or you will take a loss getting out.
Some of the people I know that made the most gold in the game have bought things , kept them for a month and sold.
And Of course you can get lucky with the TP in the first hour of a new event.
I think The dragon coffers offer very good value with very low risk.
GL to all investors out there

Oh, ok, I get it. People wanting dailies to not count are worried that people that play daily will earn more points than them? Huh? I never have understood the mentality of people obsessed with the fact that others might be able to earn perks more quickly than them, or get resentful if rewards are retroactive. I’m glad that my game play will be rewarded and I’ll earn what ever I earn. What others earn when and how isn’t relevant. I have the same potential to earn points as anyone else and I can’t begrudge people with more time, more focus or a more productive past earning AP.
BT’s GvG recap for the week. Enjoy.
Check the description to find where each guild is located in the pic.
ehh…kinda weak video considering the fact your blur out the mini map in the lower right hand corner in and effort to hide the numbers you are putting on the field during your fights.
I notice a particular guild is missing from your “exploits” as well…
I’m tired of people posting kitten about blurring videos. We do it because we use multiple commander tags for our strategies. You don’t see nfl coaches letting the other team read their play books do you?
I attached a playbook strat. Try to figure it out!
I also attached a picture I snapped during that south camp fight, so shut up already about us blurring things for our own right. Try to make the people in japan not blurr their porn! tyty
How is blurring a map comparable to allowing us to read your play book? Are the strategies you employ that simple that we only have to look at a map to see the other commander tag to understand everything you are doing? (BTW, that screenshot only has one commander tag…)
why would i include a screenshot that has more than 1 commander tag when thats the reason we blur it?

Congrats to SoR for the win this week.
Color me confused. You have one pic where sor is complaining about bg putting down arrow carts then the next pic sor is doing the same thing.
What you saw in that next pic of us “doing the same” is all siege we never built, never even put 1 supply into it, and it was mostly useless stuff (for that scenario) like rams, no actual arrow carts.
And the image that came right after was all the commanders you see in the picture waiting to get killed to see who will be the last one standing and BG did not want to come out
Best of today’s past 8hours game in EB :
1- Our bunker tactic and set up locked every our towers from being catch 8hours long in EB.
2- Well… BG and SoR attempts to coordinate attacks east and west failed multiple times. We are now 18k ahead (280 to 380 ppt on 8h long)
3- Some of you dont like wiping at towers gates
4- Good news : reset soon.
About people asking how SoR does better, you should better ask yourself what you are NOT doing to do as well.
About JQ mentionning RG fights I say LOL, I was farming them in EU long ago and did it here also: JQ lives in dreams.
About people mentionning numbers : we held outman and double teamed in EB 3hours long without loosing anything (you can no longer see outman buff)
About every others that think the meta is guilds rushes and zergs attacks only you are very wrong, strategy and tactic can’t be based only on offensive what BG and JQ are doing.
The old time Karma train are over. btw if you like it it can be found in lower tiers still.
Congratulation on SoR crew in EB and other BL for their dedicated time and great work. SoR is always working together to increase their quality in gameplay and it’s really nice place to be.
[LORD] Salute you.
Regards to my ex NA/EU guilds and friends both in BG and JQ (they will recognise them)

How quickly people forget! SoR did not come out to play when JQ had Red Guard butchering everyone! SoR has fair-weather players just like anyone else.
I think a lot of us were busy deconstructing the strategy and trying to counter it, which is why AGG is less and less effective each day…
I’m not denying that SoR doesn’t have fair-weather players, every server does, but what do you really expect to happen? Some guilds aren’t going to stand out there and wipe 100 times until they figure it out, they’ll wipe a couple of times and then take it to the drawing board…

LAST COMMANDER STANDING WINS. Fun in JQBL
Scrub D/D Ele. What’s server loyalty?
I posted on another similar thread, I think the issue is people who simply run past the holos looking for pirates. If none are found they do not activate the holo minions.
Thus, after a while most of the holos on the map will be the minion type, not the pirate type. Eventually as they are activated and respawn the pirates will have a chance to appear again.
If you aren’t willing to put in the effort, time, blood sweat and tears..
Then you don’t deserve those achievement points. It’s as simple as that.
That’s why they’re called achievements. You dedicated yourself to achieving whatever it wanted you to.
Want Diving Master? Sure, then you’re going to have to do both the easy and difficult content to get it

I think the reason it seems like SoR has more people is because they’re just generally more coordinated than BG. They have everyone going after one thing at the same time or they’ll be coordinating hits on several objectives at the same time so it feels like a coverage thing.
I’m starting to notice this more which is why I asked in my previous post hoping some SoR players would be willing to be more open about their server.
While I don’t agree with their posters or their current recruitment stance, I was being sincere when I said as a server, SoR seems leaps and bounds ahead of JQ and BG as far as organization goes.
I mean, sure if you asked me 2-3 weeks ago who was the smallest server, it could be said it was SoR, but now I don’t know if they are the smallest, with a population that seems improved and their already stronger than most organization, it’s becoming quite obvious that BG and JQ aren’t equipped. I mean we admittedly 2v1’d you guys from the get go this match but we simply can’t keep up.

Maybe they’re adding crouch to the game. There are several applications for crouch.
- When falling, pressing the crouch key right before hitting the ground will reduce falling damage by a certain percent and also prevent falling flat on your face
- Let’s you take cover behind certain low height objects so you get extra protection from projectile attacks
- Moving when crouched could potentially allow you to sneak past certain monsters when they would otherwise aggro on you if you got too close
I’d be down for that.

Everyone who placed and maintained siege surely knows the pain to log in a hour later and see it all gone, not because of the enemy, but because nobody from the team cared – or knew – to refresh it.
One reason for this is that many simply don’t know about it. The timers, the expiration, I’m talking about the casuals. Why should they do it, if they knew? I see no reason for a casual WvW player to do this boring task, instead of joining the fun.
Let’s give them a reason!
I propose a new type of defense event. It would count the number of siege in a tower that’s below, say, 15 minutes and if there are any, it would show as:
[Event]
Siege in the tower needs maintaining!
- 4 siege machines still need to be maintained
It would grant small amounts of karma and silver per siege ticked, and count as an event for deeds etc. Now when a new WvW player runs around, he will immediately see this event pop up, and will have reason to go into the tower and refresh all siege, without anyone having to beg in map chat to do it.
To make the event a bit harder and balance the gain of karma and gold, also for the sakes of realism, new requirements of maintaining siege could be introduced, mainly:
1. Placed siege expires after 1h
2. Siege can be refreshed for free just by ticking it, as long as the timer is >=15 min
3. Once the siege goes < 15min, the event is generated. All siege that falls below 15 minutes during the event, is added to the event total counter. This siege can no longer be refreshed by just using it. You have to spend 1 supply and use it, to refresh it back to 1h.
Now it is harder and more costly to maintain siege, but you give reason and a beacon to everyone and especially casual players, to do it, which should make it on the whole a lot easier.
Yay or nay?
God knows I have loudly voiced my criticisms of this game (and will continue to do so – lol) …
But yes, to date, this is the best MMO I have ever played overall. Sure there are specific aspects of some other MMOs with I prefer over GW2, but in general, when talking about all 3 modes (PvE, WvW, PvP), then yep, GW2 beats out all my previous mmo experiences.
So now that I got that out of the way, time to go back to my regularly scheduled program of loud criticisms and suggestions. ;-)
by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game.

I agree… this game is really, really good. By MMO standards, good community to boot
This game deserves a huge thumbs up, never played anything like it. Captures everything I love about video games. Awesome job guys.
Ahh yes, an MMO finally lives up to the challenge of producing content faster than players can consume it, and someone still manages to complain…
