so we finally took DH border back…

HoD i REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that you have a good explanation of how you ported golems from outer gate once it was down, directly into the ramparts of inner with all walls and gates of inner 100% intact, clearly in excess of 5000 range…

also a group of HoD earlier today got into inner of HoD hills with no mesmer. all outer walls 100% intact. no one had repaired anything at HoD Hills (there was nothing to repair no holes in walls or gates).

We hacked the code of GW2 and modified it to allow golems to walk through walls, and mesmersports to go an excess of 1 million range. We would of just made them fly, but were trying to be discrete as possible. Keep it down will you.

Hey thanks, we appreciate the compliment. It was my first night running my Guild as just my Guild since I got back from my vacation, and with school having started, my numbers were quite down. We ran from 20-25 last night most of the night, but I was really happy with the new tactics and whatnots that my guys had worked on.

Great fights from [Hawk], [RET], [NERF], [RAM], [HOPE] and the other 2 or 3 Guilds I missed. We may have been outnumbered most of the night, but I hope that we gave y’all some good fights.

WTF……really most skilled groups look for the 15-20 range.

You are a zerg nothing more.

Please do try and take 15-20 and beat a 60+ man zerg. <3. Not as easy as it looks.

It’s easy to kill massive forces when using a choke and/or siege, I’ve done it plenty of times. What’s hard is doing it in open field, against organized blobs. Fighting pug groups is easy, fighting good organized forces in open field, not so much. We’re working on getting better at it.

Watch out for Mesmer’s. Be cautions on high boon builds as many thieves run S/D in 1v1 situations (boon stealing). Mesmer’s, Ranger (spirit) and Thief (S/D).

Most other builds I don’t have too much trouble with. Though I went down so quickly to a power ranger yesterday (the red one)

Do you really want to be punished for having a lot of players around you? Do you want to be punished for having more siege on a map than your enemies? Do you want to have an uphill fight because the other server can’t muster enough people? I’m so sick of every thread saying “Punish players for this, that, and their mom!!!!” The answer is not “Punish people for simply playing a game.” Do you not see how completely, forgive my wording here, idiotic, selfish, and lazy that sounds? Would it even be fun for your enemies anymore? What you should be asking is something more like;

“Give us more ways in game to accomplish X, Y, and Z even while outmanned”

This not only gives you the ability to accomplish the same thing but creates a hell of a lot more counter play and just overall depth in game. Think outside the box as well. Think of player roles, new “siege”, anything you as a player would personally find helpful with whatever you thought when I said “X, Y, and Z.” As a game designer you can’t push debuffs on your playerbase just because they’re playing the game. What they can do is help give you (the player) more tools to help yourself. Let’s stop being a lazy community and start brainstorming real ideas. Even a comment like “Wtb anti-zerg trap nuke that deals 10k damage to foes in radius when it goes off for 250 supply” is more helpful than “Debuffs for everyone!!”

Some example ideas to illustrate this are;

-Clearly defined player roles such as:

  • Scout
    – At X rank can use signal flare trap(uses supply) that pings and highlights enemy players (such as a zerg) for all allies on the map. (like the green dots for friendlies but red and last for x seconds)
    – At Y rank can deploy a binocular stand (that uses supply) that allows him to see much further into the distance also seeing cloaked siege and trap outlines through walls (walls, not land).
    – At Z rank Ballista’s reinforced shot becomes ground targeted and does not need line of sight. Damage vs. Siege is increased.
    – Gains passive movement speed, snare debuff duration decreases (except immobilizes), increased damage to Yaks and escorts.
  • Siegemaster
    – At X rank reduces cost of deployed siege by x amount.
    – At Y rank can carry more supply.
    – At Z rank all siege weapons (except golems) gain a skill that deploys a Wall of Reflection in front of it.
    – Gains passive damage reduction of siege being used, decreases recharge of siege weapon skills, turn siege faster.
  • Hunter
    – At X rank can deploy a personal anti-stealth item (uses supply) that shows footprints of stealthed foes and siege within range (1,200ish?) but does not reveal them.
    – At Y rank can loot some supply (1) from foes that had supply and from yaks (2).
    – At Z rank can deploy a siege wall (uses supply) that destroys projectiles and stops foes from passing through it for x seconds.
    – Gains passive movement speed, snare duration buff, and longer lasting siege.
  • Defender
    – At X rank repairing becomes twice as effective. Can also repair siege weapons as well.
    – At Y rank can carry more supply.
    – At Z rank can deploy a defensive asuran laser (uses supply(1-2?)) that destroys slow moving enemy siege projectiles(single use). (Motar/Treb specifically)
    – Gains passive reduced damage from siege, and reduced damage from AoE abilities while within friendly walls.
  • Assaulter
    – At X rank AoE abilities can hit more foes. (2-5?)
    – At Y rank builds siege 50% faster
    – At Z rank Flame Rams gain a shield skill that blocks effects of ground targeted AoE skills for a few seconds for itself and the user. Golems run faster.
    – Gains passive damage reduction while using siege, deal more damage to gates and walls. (Applies while on siege as well.)

"Guest" & "Transfer" button interface issues

It should be easy to guest and really difficult to transfer.

  • The worst impact on a guesting mistake is 24 hours without playing with your friends, chasing world events, or buying obby shards in Orr.
  • The least penalty for a transfer mistake is 168 hours without being able to WvW with your friends, 1,600 gems, and potentially difficulty returning to your original server. The cost is much greater if both servers are high population and/or in different regions from each other.

There should be a separate interface row for the two functions:

  • Guesting row:
    • Select servers to guest to. Only pop up a warning at this step.
    • Once you have selected 1-2 servers, you see a new button to guest to that server (instead of the current interface that requires you to repeat the same steps and see the same confirmation, even though you are locked into your choice for 24 hours). No need for a warning, just post a notification.
  • Transferring Row
    • different color and font
    • pop-up warnings when you click the “transfer” button, before you get the list of worlds
    • pop up a second warning when you choose a server
    • pop up a third warning before completing the transaction, “this will cost _ gems and cannot be reversed; it will cost you _ gems if you want to return and you will have to wait 7 days”

Good Day to all! Even you non-quaggans, coo! Crystal Desert has finally decided that we are in of need more Quaggans, specifically of the Oceanic and Euro variety. The Quaggan council has realized that if we are to fight dirty Yaks, banish the Mighty Flame Ram God, and many other evils we must recruit more Quaggans to the cause, Coo. Now, we are willing to welcome any stray quaggans to our community, but as quaggans, we enjoy our fun and ability to roam free so our Golem border patrol, might have to turn you away if occupancy is high. Have quaggan caught your attention yet, coo?

Well, if not, let quaggan explain benefits package recieved by all in the Quaggan Sanctuary provided by Crystal Desert’s very own Quaggan Conservation Society[QCS]. *Note: QCS Only provides the Quaggan Sanctuary. All benefits procured seperately via your local Quaggan Representative or our precious Asuran intern, Bloo. (She thinks she’s a quaggan, coo… it’s quite sad really.)

~Quaggan Cooings~
We, quaggan, hold two Cooings a week. (Any more would make some Quaggans lose thier voices and a Quaggan who can’t Coo is just a sad sight.) One of our Cooings is for our Quaggan Commanders to discuss threats to our Sanctuary and how we will keep them the Coo out of our home. The other Cooing is for all quaggan, even the littlest of baby quaggans. At the open Cooing, quaggans coo about many topics, including Quaggan Sanctuary Defense (most Quaggan Commanders will Coo at this time), Quaggan Higher Education, and, of course, Quaggan Parties. (Quaggans party everywhere from Orr to LA.)

Crystal Desert holds two community meetings a week; one for WvW planning & one for overall Community development and activities.

As part of Quaggan life, Quaggan strive to always improve. In order for Quaggan to succeed, we have developed Quaggan friendly training for brave quaggans who venture into the realm of Yaks and Flame Rams. For the quaggans with OCD and a love of dank caves, we have organized activities to keep them busy for hours on end. (And out of our tails, Coo!)

Crystal Desert has an active set of WvW training courses held on a weekly basis, including class specific (currently, Mesmer, Guardian, Ranger, & Engineer), roaming/havoc, zerging/sieging and WvW basics courses. We have a Commander shadowing program that was very recently started. Also, for our PvP & PvE brethren, we have Orr Temple Runs, Dungeon guides, sPvP tournies, and Achievement point groups. Lastly, we occasionally have parades, giveaways, and scavenger hunts.

~Quaggan Community~
Quaggans aside, our server community on Crystal Desert tries to promote guild interactions as much as possible because we believe it creates a stronger bond for us as a community overall. In WvW, We have a healthy mix of roamers and zergs throughout the day so any playstyle should fit in well. Also, we have a 512-person Teamspeak Server for community use along with a Community Website & Forum. As for our policy for new guilds looking at us, we will not fund their transfer as we want players who want to be here and play alongside us. Once a guild is here, however, we will normally be more than willing to help that guild help itself get back on its feet in various ways. Lastly, yes, we do have trolls and forums warriors, but most every server has at least a few and ours are normally pretty tame.

I’ve watched all of your previous “interview” with the developers of GW2. Firstly, you and your guests are terrible at asking questions addressing problems within the game. State of the Game usually meant the whole game but all I’ve ever notice from all of the interviews were SPvP related. From my perspective, every single guests, who were asking questions, only focused on asking questions that satisfied their own needs. It’s time to start asking tough questions on all aspects of the game, not just SPvP. What about the broken stealth system where professions lacked traits or skill to reveal stealth players? Aren’t thieves supposed to be deadly assassins who finished fights once they picked one? The current system made them into running/restarting wussies What about the broken match-up systems? What about the broken queues? What about the lack of caps? What about the staled PvE? Especially world bosses being way too easy. We all know balance can’t be achieved through any measure of systems, i.e. ranking tweaking, when you have outmanned situations. How about addressing the issue where the developers weren’t ready to answer any questions when asked. They stumble to look through pages of changes just to find a 5 words answer. This shows me, as a gamer, the developers were rushing to implement random changes that none of the developers are in agreement with, or everyone on the team didn’t know about. How about on the next State of the Game we actually have players from all aspect of the game on the interview? We need player from PvE, WvW, and SPvP because everyone, or a majority of players, knew by now that GW2 wasn’t, and isn’t, just about SPvP. Get your head on straight GW2 and host of State of the Game.

Tier stagnation needs to happen.

Look at all the NA servers that are above BP. At one point in time they were the bandwagon server of the week.

The servers in the lower half of the tiers, do not have the population to be competitive with the upper tier servers.

This would be a great time for Anet to break up the NA servers into 2 distinct tiers.

To break down your ignorance of your attempt to show synergys with the Scepter with other MI.

Scepter 1 + scepter 2 does not equal Mirrored images, reasoning:

total cast time SS – 3+ seconds (based on distance from target)
total cast time MI – instant

Creation of clone button press requirements SS – 3 activations of primary attack plus 1 activation of secondary attack AND the requirement that you are hit while 2 is channeling.
Creation of clone button press requirements MI – 1 button

Damage outputted SS – White damage + block and torment
Damage outputted MI – Zero

Total recharge time for same effect SS – 12 seconds
Total recharge time for same effect MI – 45 seconds

Location of Clone creation SS – 1 on Mesmer, 1 at target location
Location of Clone creation MI – On Mesmer

On top of that using the subjective word of “Best” for control weapon, is always best prefixed with stating it is your opinion/perspective, after all in my opinion the Staff is alot more of a control weapon.

Who is [Kome] and why do you run?

Ask yourself this question the next time you fight the tier 1 heavies.. having your outmanned meter kept turning up means you have to choose your fight carefully.. eg. ytd in EB overlook hill.. took out 3waves of DB didn’t we?

But overall DB zerg have balls unlike TC they don’t scurry to nearest tower when you caught them on even ground.

P.S DB Comd try not to drop open field ac when you already have overwhelming numbers.. One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards.

Make 'double clones' on scepter a trait

So this was a bug, but I really want to see it return as a master trait, added to ‘malicious sorcery’ instead of the condition damage or a new trait in illusions or chaos. For something that was unintended it had so many benefits:

-It boosted the viability of scepter.
-It would make for less reliance on ‘deceptive evasion’ and ‘illusionists celerity’.
-A build based around the traits that cause cripple, random conditions (weakness!) and confusion on clone death would be much more effective.
-It gave the scepter a much stronger and coherent identity of being a punishment weaponset, the ‘double clones’ add conditions to stationary targets while block skill adds a condition that punishes movement, so scepter becomes a weaponset that forces an enemy to keep moving and to be cautious of triggering ‘illusionary counter’.
-With this change and the 3 stacks of bleed on ‘Debilitating Dissipation’, it is the only way for scepter clones to add enough bleeds to equal staff or greatsword. That’s right a power weaponset when traited adds more bleeds than a condition weaponset.
-Build diversity!

I am so proud of CD! And thank you everyone who “called out” of work today for our “NA business hours” raiding. EBG was on queue all day and that hasn’t happened in a long time!
All our commanders are doing awesome and I love you all. Oh and Jacked, and the other commanders that were there, thank you for staying in CDBL all day long and getting everything fortified. It’s not always the most exciting position being defensive for 12 hours straight!

There is also the off chance they leveled. I have rallied from down after having repaired a wall that was being trebbed a couple minutes before. Defend the tower Event completed I got credit, leveled, and got up. Then got downed again. I’m not very good it turns out.

I don’t agree with the reset everyday, mainly because of the hard work people put into upgrading their keeps/towers to higher Tier levels.

My example is, imagine the keep you have been battling to maintain and get to Tier 3 (full upgraded for you non-WvW), only to log in the next day and its completely paper again (no upgrades) is frustrating. During the week, if that was to happen then its understandable, but to lose it because of reset sucks. On the flip side, taking down an enemy Tier 3 keep a few days later feels great for the players involved because its extremely hard to do.

Why is everyone complaining about getting greens?

Well for one thing one of the devs implied that either we would get rares or at least a good chance of rares.

Out of four chests today I have gotten two rares. Were you really expecting some kind of hand out? The chance of getting rares from these chests appears to be about the same as pve ones. (excluding the dragon chests) That seems fair.

Yeah, because gaining 5000 WXP is as easy as running (or being ported up) one jumping puzzle, and so much easier than slaying a mighty dragon!

I see now why giving Jormag’s claw a manicure is worth a guaranteed rare per day along with several chances at more from the chest, but taking 8 keeps is only worth a single chance at maybe a rare but probably a green. Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.

Where’s the website I can get the timer info for when my server is about to flip keeps and towers so I can farm them like dragon/event chests?

(Considering how fast the instigator events in southsun are plopping out rares and how much the price of ectoplasm has fallen as a result, I can’t really believe they are so concerned about the economy crashing if they gave the WvW players a rare every couple hours or so. I’m not saying there should be a huge chance for precursors or anything, but it feels a bit odd that I can get several rares in an hour of running events in southsun but I get one single green and a blueprint for what is often several hours of hard slogging battle.)

Yeah, but that’s not my problem, I’m talking about NOT playing on my rank 160 necro anymore, but starting a fresh new char. As far as I’ve heard, I will never get those 160 chests unless I force myself to play on my necro again. Since currently the World Ranks are character bound (which is bad as well imo).
I am not bothered about having to earn another 160 ranks for the chests because I surely will, but just on another character.

You aren’t supposed to have alts, or ever change your main. Those 4 slots to the right of your main? Those are for aesthetic purposes or extra sPvP characters.

Many vocal players called for more “progression” for their characters. A week after release the “there’s nothing to do at endgame” nonsense, that content locusts ruin every game with, began.

In order to appease these players, time gated power progression was hastily added in the form of ascended gear, and later in WvW as character bound skill/rank progression (WXP).

I have 4 “mains” which I switch between for WvW and I primarily roam, escort yaks and defend, so I don’t level fast. With the boosts to WXP gain, I got one level in 3 hours of play tonight, which is about my average time in WvW. This is just another thing that’s a good bonus for the most hardcore players (one main character, 8+ hours a day WvW, etc) but seems almost insulting to anyone who doesn’t zerg surf, or have a single main, or play all day every day.

I want to make a comment in regards to the chat filter. Ive been doing alot of digging and research on the subject and I just happen to know for a fact that Arena.net and Ncsoft have purposely developed the chat filter system to allow people to foolishly fall victom to their TOS and ban them. Its a way for them to make money and my source comes right from the horses mouth. A family who has partial ownership over arena.net. It can be considered a conpsiracy if you want to call it that but its fact that ncsoft perma bans peoples accounts over repeated offences. The chat filter is the most useless tool available to Gw2 Players since it only works 1 way. Im pretty angry over this fact and have asked for help with several outside well connected anet sources on the subject but responces have been very quiet on this topic. My guess is they want to keep it quiet and dont want people knowing. The fact theres no contract you sign when you manualy remove and unlock the chat filter is evidence enough that anet allows people to use vulger language. If your going to have a filter it needs to work both ways. And removing the filter should acknowledge that you are willfully signing an agreement that you infact wish to view vulger language and also to use it as well. If you remove the chat filter you shouldnt have the right to report vulger language in the first place, reducing the amount of reports for GMs to sort through. Ultimatly what it comes down to is $ money. GMs need tickets for their daily quota, so they go home feed their Kids and family. Have a nice cushy job and earn a descent income. But the fact that ncsoft refuses to acknowledge these details and my sources is proof enough. Its a cycle of corruption that has infested even the lead GMs of ncsoft.

Its sad, for a game that has half naked women that can strip down nearly naked, and weapons and art that reveal the most intimate parts of a woman ncsoft has declared its still just a game for younger teens. This is just insane. If Anet isnt willing to make the filter work both ways then its just showing that the cycle of corruption will continue on and on.

That is ludicrously ridiculous. Absolutely, provably, horribly wrong. You should be ashamed of yourself for entertaining such a notion and for posting it on this forum or in any way alluding to this nonsense.

I don’t know of any company that would act in the reprehensible manner you describe and certainly not a company of ArenaNet’s and NCSOFT’s stature. The $50 here and the $50 there that would be gained from exercising the components of this Tinfoil Hat Theory of the Day would not be not worth a thing compared to the loss of reputation that would occur if we were to act in this manner. Not to mention the bitter taste of unfairness that we — gamers like you — would feel if this was any policy or any process at all or in any way.

You don’t remove the filter, you simply choose not to use it. You do not own the right to determine what others will see, and the filter cannot ever be perfect, hence the actions that our GM Team will be forced to take on those who breach the RoC and the rules of commonly accepted game behavior.

We value every player and every customer. We do not suspend or terminate accounts lightly. We do our darnedest to work with individuals who have been suspended and even terminated, going the extra mile to give a second chance or to work with a person who has made an error in judgment. The suspension system is a model of balance and fairness. It is even set up to give second chances automatically. We do not conspire to ban people unjustly. We never, ever will.

CD and SBI, you continue to impress and surprise. It’s pretty much a forgone conclusion at this point that today will be the start of our last matchup for at least a little while. The new system leaves some confusion as to how things will proceed, but it’s a fair bet that we will go up and the loser of this match will go down.

The keys to CD’s success always lie in it’s participation. When they are on, they are a force to be reckoned with.

SBI, it’s been great to face you guys again; though both our servers look a lot different from when we were both the best in NA WvW. I hope that your fortunes improve and that you are able to forge a new WvW core that will grow and become the backbone of a renewed server.

Thank you both for continuing to bring a good fight, in spite of a lopsided score due to coverage differences.
I hope that SBI takes T5 to the woodshed, and that CD seizes the opportunity to take T4 (YB needs to be taken down a notch).
