Sad to see all the negativity on the official forms, but I wanted to at least take a break from playing long enough to throw in a positive word here.

This update is incredible! I don’t personally know of any other MMO that’s completely destroyed the capital of their world. I also don’t know any other MMO that releases significant content updates every two weeks! And you all have done the first in one of your regular updates and made it incredibly fun and I’m blown away!

Thank you, ArenaNet! I’ve been so impressed and enjoying this so much I’ve been gushing about it to everyone!

Yeah I’m sorry but you guys are being ridiculous. You might as well complain about every piece in the gem store while you are at it. Oh geez, I have to use a waypoint between crafting and throwing crap into the mystic forge, how inconvenient. Crafting tables are still all over the place, so are banks, and guild traders, too. Do you honestly think your whining will accomplish anything?

I for one really welcome that I can now load into a fractal without waiting for 10+ minutes for LA to load beforehand. Spreading this stuff out is a great move for me personally, and will save me a ton of time.

So there. Now you guys can proceed with your ineffectual outrage.

why is that patch good? we got nothing more than zerg event awful loot ONE, i repeat, ONE cinematic and the destruction of a main city which is probably the only fun thing.

Well because some of us are choosing to enjoy the game instead of crying about the lack of things. OR what the devs did wrong…blah blah blah…

Key Bind Profiles For Each Character

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Bombsaway.7198

Bombsaway.7198

I suggest that there be a way to save key bind profiles for each character. When you log into that character, you automatically get the saved keybinds.

Why?

Well, I play an engineer with completely different key binds than a ranger than a guardian. I suspect many others do too.
Now, it takes a lot of time to change classes which I would much rather play fighting.

Significant Dungeon Change - A New Game!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Xyonon.3987

Greetings everyone – I’ll make it as short as possible:

I feel like dungeons in this game are just a skipping puzzle and feel boring after you’ve done them a few times. You try to evade as much trouble as you can so you can finish the dungeon as fast as possible to get the rewards.

So … how about … that each mob in the dungeon grants your team points wich will end up in additional cash and tokens in the end of the run. So if you skip everything you’ll be fast but get less rewards. If you clear the whole dungeon even CoF1 takes 20 minutes to deal with but grants you more rewards.

It probably shouldn’t affect infinite spawned mobs like CoF2 helping megg to blow up the entrance to the endboss etc.

Also what about even more rewards like “you have never been downed this run -> +5% token” or “you rescured a downed ally with less than 25% HP, brave heart! +5% token” or what ever!

I wish there would be just MORE to do in a dungeon than just get trough there. Maybe even a randomized bonus mission like “if noone dies in this run +5% cash” “if you kill every boss before it’s adds +5% cash” etc etc etc.

I honestly think it would improve gameplay and generate more fun also buffing defensive equipment like healing guards, mesmer, or tanky condition builds. so…

what do you think??

About us:
A relatively new addition to CD’s plethora of guilds, [RI] is a 4-month old WvW focused PvX community of intriguing personalities and fun-loving crazies. Originally conceived by a core group of CD’s SEA WvW veterans, [RI] emphasizes team play, camaraderie, and tasteful silliness when tackling all the game has to offer.

Although we have deviated somewhat from our original goal as a WvW guild, [RI] remains invested in building up a guild group capable of dominating within that gametype. We’re currently working on our group composition and cohesion, as well as training upcoming commanders to assist in future matchups.

We have scheduled WvW raids on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9pm GMT+8, as well as on Sundays at 11pm GMT+ 8, though of course our group runs are not exclusive to these times alone.

We are a fully upgraded guild, with the Gathering and Magic Find buffs running permanently, while the Karma Buff runs roughly 4-5 days a week at the moment. We do ALL Guild Missions with the exception of Guild Trek once a week on Sundays, 9pm GMT+8/ 8am EST.

We are recruiting newbie and veteran Crystal Deserters alike to join our 125+ and growing community! Our most active hours are during SEA prime time, where we average about 25 members online, and 35-ish during the weekends. However, we intend to bolster guild activity outside of these times too, and would love more NA players to solidify our NA contingent.

For WvW during SEA primetime specifically, [RI] is looking for roughly 3-4 Guardians, 2-3 Necromancers, and 2 Elementalists that are interested in zergball-oriented play.

Potential members should take note of the following:

1) Getting the guild to work together is important to us. As such, within team-based gametypes such as WvW, we strongly encourage members to find a balance between catering to their own individual play style, and what will improve the overall effectiveness and enjoyment of the group. This consideration toward the group extends to gear, traits, and utilities as well.

2)Keep an open mind, as our guild banter gets a little crazy on a daily basis.

3) Be willing to take constructive criticism and learn.

4) Use of Teamspeak 3 is NOT mandatory, though very strongly encouraged particularly for certain dungeons, guild missions, and our WvW raids for improved coordination and communication. You’d get to know some of us a lot better too! You do not need to have a mic; when it comes to organizing/executing our guild activities, all we need are your ears.

5) [RI] is a semi-representation guild. We do not, and will not, enforce a 100% representation requirement as we feel allowing members freedom of choice, particularly when [RI] is unable to cater to their needs at a particular time for instance, is a better alternative than making them feel chained to us. However, we expect members to take initiative and engage the rest of the guild from time to time, socialize, and to join us for our scheduled raids and missions if able. A guild is more than just a service, it is a community, so please treat it as such.

If our guild interests you, please do not hesitate to drop a whisper/mail to any of [RI]’s contact listed above. Perhaps we could schedule a conversation on our community teamspeak, should you so desire.

Until next time, see you in-game!

No defeat, no competition in S1

I’m talking about three servers here,

Blackgate
Fort Aspenwood
Henge of Denravi

Although their coverage and WvW participation are in different leagues, they all won 7 rounds undefeated. Besides the first week match with BG/JQ/SoR all of the matches that these 3 servers had were blowouts, the competing servers never had a chance. The players on these servers are not to blame, they all should enjoy the rewards they earned, however I think it will be unhealthy for WvW in the long term when some servers have a monopoly on winning. I’d like to see more competitive matches in Season 2, WvW will be more fun for all of us if that happens.

And I’m from Dragonbrand, I’m not sore about anything, we never had a chance at 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

Anet likely didn’t want to remove the armor stats entirely because…well,
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.

Not gold league but rarely outmanned…
The problem with that request is that RNG will still be a thing and that Silver league will be chewing up and spitting out a lot of servers over the next few months.

Your best bet as it stands today are Borlis Pass, Ehm Bay, and CD for Silver. I don’t know enough about bronze, though SF and HoD look pretty strong ATM.

Whining about Queue? Read this

in WvW

Hule.8794

Hey people,
for few weeks Anet was telling you that moving to T1 is not good idea.
They also made some free transfers so you can move from overpopulated servers.
Nobody cared about it that time.

And it is not Anet fault. I dont see people from Bronze league whining about queues. Rarely i see people from silver league. And there are servers you moved from.
There was queue before start of the leagues. You count count with queues after start of the league, but you still moved there or stayed there. It is not Anet fault.

ps: i am not Anet fanboy, i rarely agree with them, but this is just true. We in bronze are laughting about queues in T1 and about your whining

I think charging for ports is not going to work and is a bad idea. I never charge just offer a port when I am there for a few mins.. and I never tip when I get one. It is not like it costs anything to put a port down. It is more just doing something nice for your community than trying to make gold.

-Edit to add also 10 silver for a port is insane. Do you even get 10 silver out of a chest for the most part? I know I don’t.

[Guide] Where and When to Reflect

in Mesmer

Posted by: Chaos Archangel.5071

Chaos Archangel.5071

FRACTALS OF THE MISTS

  • Harpy fractal (One thing about the harpy fractal. Traited focus is great for 90% of it. The mid point golem fight requires an untraited focus. I believe it is the only skill that can currently negate is spinning poison spread. The traited focus doesn’t seem to work.)
  • Fractals (Grawl) Endboss’ Agony Arrow
  • Fractals (Dredge + Dredgeboss) Bombs (I think you just destroy the bombs instead of reflecting them)
  • Fractals (Swamp) Mossman’s Axe/Bloomhungers Shockwave
  • First archdiviner in cliffside fractal has an attack that can be reflected where he spins around A note about the archdiviner. Sometimes when reflecting ( or not, I haven’t been able to figure out what on earth is really happening) you can get hit with a LOT of damage from an attack called ‘ring of warding’. Just something to watch out for.
Ring of Warding is the projectile attack that you “should” be able to reflect. It appears that even if you reflect it with feedback, and see him take 6 8k crits, the ability pierces through and can still hit the player. Since the damage is the same as if a bolt hits the player, I assume this is the case. Usually, this happens when I feedback at the moment he is doing it, whereas I am never hit if there is a good 2-second window where he is in the bubble.
  • Cliffside: For the arm seals, many of the trash mobs have a reflectable attack within feedback.
  • Ascalon: The archers and mages have reflectable attacks.
  • RANGED DREDGE EVERYWHERE
  • Jade maw fractal: the squid mobs have a charged up knockdown attack that can be reflected.
  • Ascalon fractal: when the final boss is in the firey greatsword stage, his standing still autoattack can be reflected for upwards of 25k damage.
  • Grawl fractal first boss: he uses a projectile burning attack that can be nicely reflected.

ASCALON CATACOMBS

  • AC p3 boss has an attack similar to the effigy which can be knocked back
  • AC path 2 final boss: the ghost eater uses a frontal cone aoe that is similar to risen elementalists, except it also applies bleeding and cripple. Chaining reflects will kill him incredibly quickly.

TWILIGHT ARBOR

  • Up/Up first spider boss and second spider boss: both use projectile attacks. First spider boss will receive 5x increased damage if you are poisoned. Same effect with champ spiders in arah.
  • Lavaelementals can be reflectet to not hit the Ooze
  • Sparki’s projectiles ignore reflections/destructions(Smoke Screen tested) (didn’t test untraited focus)
  • Slick’s shots can be destroyed but not reflected
  • Endboss’ AoE (Tools and Gears) can be reflected

CRUCIBLE OF ETERNITY

  • COE golem primes itself to fire a red projectile which can be reflected for like 20k
  • Icebrood Elementals

HONOR OF THE WAVES

  • first legendary boss in hotw p1 has a projectile attack that can be reflected
  • Most of the HotW stuff is projectiles based, story included. Final bosses rom explorables are excluded, since 2 of them are underwater and the one from path 1 has more aoe attacks than projectiles.

CAUDECUS MANOR

  • When in doubt, reflect. You’ll probably hit something.
  • Also in Caudecus story there’s a lot of projectiles. I remember that the final boss in story mode is a ranger, which didn’t touch me anytime thanks to iWardens and temporal Curtain.

CITADEL OF FLAME

  • COF effigy has an attack where it slams its fist in to the ground which fires five projectiles that can be reflected for around 50k

ARAH

  • Risen Elementalist in Arah basically kills itself on Wardens (he takes about 30% per blade volley).
  • Alphard, Serpent of the Waves can be completely shut down.
  • Orrian Turrets can be easily killed with any reflect skill.
  • Wraithlord’s Mage can be totally shut down, just like Alphard.
  • In addition to what was mentioned, mages use a projectile that reflects for about 10k. Hunters are by far the best, as they use a bouncing projectile that reflects for about 10k-12k and bounces around decimating everything. You can also reflect the poison spray from the orrian drakes, this will do a ton of damage to them.
  • Lupicus’ aoe attack in p2 can be reflected, but you have to actually be inside feedback for it. I will trait mender’s feedback, stand next to a downed ally, and wait to revive them jus as lupicus uses the aoes. Additionally, in p3 the attack with a large red circle right in front of him where he sprays the ground with green stuff can be reflected for massive damage.

- Legendary Jotun Stargazer of path 1, feedback can be used to reflect his main attack instead of needing reflecting crystals.

SORROWS EMBRACE

  • Prototype golems in sorrow’s embrace p1 can be decimated by reflects very quickly.
