How does one “un-sub” or formally “quit” playing GW2 in such a way that ANet could survey such a demographic?

I mean, I “quit” for over 6 months after the Ascended Tier announcement…yet here I am. I even gave my opinion, freely, no survey required, right here on the forums…got infracted for it, but there it was for the world to see, well til it was deleted.

I suppose it wasn’t as pretty a metric as a survey result of yes or no questions…

I’m afraid it’s not a good idea – this kind of system would only encourage mindless farming of mobs as weak as possible at maximum pace.

I had to buy the magic carpet. My Asura stands on it with her arms folded while floating down the road and while doing jumping puzzles. It’s hilarious.

They got it right with GW1 and I don’t understand how they can’t seem to get it right in GW2.

DonQuack, I think we are talking about different definitions of “bodybuilding”. I was assuming the extreme, something that is achieved via very specific exercise and a very specific diet.
That picture of Conan isn’t something I’d file under “bodybuilder”, at least not the stereotypical kind. Also, those are at least B-cups^^

Besides, what a man has packed onto his chest isn’t that different from what a woman has. Biologically, we start out the same, and that doesn’t change too much. A woman’s breast are a combination of muscle tissue and fat, the latter of which is specific to women, I give you that. But overall, when talking about boobs, we can safely include men. Especially when talking about the very buff ones, who do have more muscle there, thus forming the infamous “kitten”. Those aren’t exclusive to large men. The exact makeup of those manboobs doesn’t really matter, the form is there. Which is what my comments were mostly directed at. If I can’t show my naked chest in public, neither can a man, because he’s got basically the same business going on, it just looks a bit different. Likewise, if a Conan character can run around shirtless, a Conina character can, too.

Edit: Wait, I can say “boobs” here safely, but the short version of manboob isn’t allowed? oO

No, lady. I don’t do hundreds of push-ups, bench presses and dumbell flys for my chest to be called manboobs. They are called pecs.

Manboobs are what that Southpark WoW player has, obtained through lack of activity and poor diet.

If you want to refer to someone’s chest, the short-term ‘boobs’ can be used, but that tends to be a positive description for a desirable chest. Manboobs is a negative term along the lines of mosquito-bites.

FYI, you often misinterpret what people say and you project waaaay way too much. It often doesn’t help your side of the argument. I’m not going to break it down point for point. I’ll just remind you: perspective.

Not only that, but a lot of the time, they’ll go on to hold onto attributes like powerless, helpless, weak, sexual, subservient, impotent, unintelligent, expendable, etc as being predominately placed upon females when that is a boldface lie.

Well, neither would Conan while he’s sitting on his butt waiting for the fighting to start. Should he put on a shirt, too? I mean, they both should, actually, because it can get quite chilly up in Frostgorge Sound when you are just sitting around, but I have this supsicion you are referring to her boobs being out. So are his. Depending on how much he works out, his might be bigger than hers. Your point?

My point is, how often would a shirtless female armor be used against my argument for the sake of your silly desire for a shirtless barbarian woman that you don’t even want? I’ll tell you now that it would be used by men to have visible boobs on their female characters and be ogled by males and females would decry the effort to have barbaric equality among males and females.

Basically, such an addition would be used not for good but for evil. Evil people are the reason we cannot have nice things, not just men but evil women as well.

Why should Marjory and Kasmeer have all the fun? Let’s convince the devs to take a page from Baldur’s Gate 2 and give us some romance! Instead of Living Stories, we could have Loving Stories! Living Loving Stories in a Living Loving World.

For five minutes? Give me a break. They’re not spamming 1 once the tutorial is over…usually takes less than five minutes.

Maybe they’ll learn to move and fight at the same time, something you can’t do in many MMOs.

they have no reason to learn this though, because they trvialized the encounters. actionh games can get by early with one button, because they usually make early game about mastering moving and hitting at the proper times, but gw2 tends to have enemies with unclear hit boxes, poor feedback on when you get hit, poor movement, and their attacks are rare.

thinking about it, the monster basic behavior and movement style is generally really poor. i dont mean like AI, i mean like this monster tries to maintain mid range and use line drive attacks, this other guy tries to teleport next to you then strike, this guy does a damaging line drive. Just regular enemy behavior type stuff

People complain that people press 1 through the entire game and that complaint goes back long long before the NPE. So blaming that fault on the NPE would be misdirecting your ire. If your complaint is people can do content by hitting one, you’re considerably late complaining about it.

I’ve read those things in the past, but they typically do the same thing you are, overexagerating their case in a way that makes it more ridiculous than pointed. There are certainly places in which there is a disparity between sexualized women and sexualized men, but there are also places where the opposite is true, and too much attention is given lately to places that do things “wrong” than to places that do things right, such as your complaint about the 30% or so of GW2 light armors that are “too sexy” rather than the 70% that are not.

You see, it doesn’t matter what reality is, or what fantasy is. What matters is what certain people perceive to be reality or fantasy. There is absolutely nobody who seems to care about what the charr or sylvari look like. There’s even less people convinced the asura look ‘sexy’ from what I hear.

And I was serious on my post earlier up this thread. If you get skimpy male armor, I want to have beer guts on males and females. And for sheer absolute-equality absurdity, let’s let asura get them too.

I like the idea of playing an overweight engineer asura who cosplays as Lynch’s Baron Harkonnen in his spare time.

Skimpy armors need to be abolished. Noone in their right mind would fight with skimpy armor. Especially not heavy armor.

I personally was only looking for an advice to understand the obvious changes in the GW2 economy… And the answers I got were all rational/emotionless/factual. Oh well, these are too strict words to describe them, but anyway. No hate-speech/name-calling/cursing was involved. Neither towards the game, nor towards Anet emplyees. GW2 has regressed from exploration, discovery and fun to achievement points and collecting.

Considering the rewards for this – I`d strongly advise that you don’t collect anything, especially spoons.

You`ll go out, get many, hard to find, rare items, including ascended…..and in return, you`ll get back nothing of any use whatsoever.

Collections are basically a jumping puzzle that forces you to spend 50 to several hundred gold before it lets you open the chest. I don’t find that appealing really.

Is the word “toxicity” gonna be the new “troll”? I’m already sick of it.

i’ll bet you 20 gold that people will line up to vote for something that has to do with gw1, something that has nothing to do with gw2 or more free win buttons to make this game closer to farmville.. then 8 months later arena net will add time gated material and a series of overhauls to things that have needed absolutely subtle changes since launch

I feel your pain. I too have been a victim of said camping, but on this occasion it has sunk to new levels of depravity. There I was flying around minding my own business, when I saw a party of revelers having a good time, so naturally I decided to drop in and partake of the festivities.
No sooner had I arrived when things turned very nasty indeed and the revelers revealed their true nature and immediately started to attack me. Needless to say I tried, unsuccessfully to communicate my desire to join in the party by inviting a few friends and some party crystals, but to no avail, I eventually flew off in disgust.
