I wonder how much I’ll be willing to pay for a custom arena?

Let’s see. I would think it worthwhile to spend say 10 silver to create a custom arena lasting for a few days.

I hope it’s not much more expensive than that.

I haven’t seen how much it will cost, but I read somewhere that the starter kit would last one month, and you could add time to it with time tokens afterward. And anyone can contribute time tokens to someone’s custom arena. So a whole guild could contribute a little bit of gold (gem conversion) per month to sustain their own arena.

Finally, a reason to tax PvE and WvW players.

I don’t want to speculate on what the cost will be specifically, but it will certainly be substantially more than that.

I thank you for your time here, but dude that is plain sad, where did you outsource the code for this to?.

Collections can clearly support more than 1 item per slot, as seen elsewhere in the game. The problem is that it takes 8 times the amount of space to support more than 1, and PvP has a ton of items. In this case, “technical limitation” means size constraints.

There are a lot of simple things that would make actually playing the game more fun/pleasant/less annoying/less guess based. What would you like to see?

Here is my list, with the first 3 being most important (added great suggestions from thread responses to the list):

1- Make the left mouse button target on click and the right mouse button ONLY rotate the camera on click and not target. If I lose my target one more time when trying to rotate my camera because it was over some random pet I will throw my mouse at a dev.

2- The game needs an internal CD display of some sort for on proc traits and sigil/rune effects, desperately, it would increase the skill cap in a good way by allowing you to actually see what and when it’s coming off it so you can time your own actions appropriately, as opposed to guessing and hoping for the best which is about as good of an approach to competitive gaming as it is to medication.

3- Get rid of the confirmation screen when salvaging pvp items so you can spam salvage after clicking on the salvage kit once like in pve. Please. For god sakes. It’s a skin, and I have hundreds of them, I’m sure i want to salvage it. Tag this under carpel tunnel prevention.

4- Rather than vendors and manual assignment, in spvp runes and sigils should be selected from a pvp only interface where they are coherently organized and can be set up on the go with minimal clicking.

6- The little pop up screen that tells you your pvp match is ready and asks if you want to join needs to chill the kitten out. If i say “wait” it should go away until 30 sec before the match starts not pop back up every kittening few seconds.

7- Go through all on proc based traits, runes, sigils and abilities and please include the internal CD on the tooltip for the ones that don’t have it. Thanks, appreciate it.

8- I know you like your little guy standing on the podium but can you just allow us to queue for tourneys from the pvp menu so we can do it from pve/anywhere in the mists?

9- Option to bind keys on a per character basis.

10- Option to disable skill queue (or at least lower the range).

11- Enable auto target on cast to be set on a per skill basis (sort of like auto cast is now) as opposed to all or none, so players can set movement skills to not auto target when used for mobility while still having the auto target option for other skills.

12- Regular bank access in mists.

13- Pvp vendor also sells invisible bags for a high glory cost.

14- Build templates for easy swapping.

15- Ability to move trait points in pvp without having to reset the whole tree (+5 and -5 buttons?)

17- Create some way for players to store multiple stack of dusts and orbs in the pvp locker due to the high numbers of those materials players end up with.

18- Make “interact” stomp only and tie rezing to a keybind so they are separated. Not being able to choose whether you want to rez or stomp when a downed enemy and team player are next to each other is just really… bad.

19- Toggle option to make the UI click through.

20- Tool to resize and move around individual elements of the UI.

21- Resonable penalty/reporting capability for Akitten and offline players in tourneys

22- Make a crossed swords icon pop up over teammates in the minimap when they engage in a fight, make the icon flash when the teammate is low.

23- Toggle option for canceling targeting on ground click.

24- Stop ‘When enemy is at x% HP, y happens’ traits from activating on downed players and inanimate objects (great suggestion by Harrier.9380)

I don’t get it, do you not want devs to explore builds that are not up to par in spvp and try to figure out how to make them better?

Folly, he has been using them signets for a while, and I can appreciate the fact that devs don’t run what we do. Maybe he is on meta 2016 or something who knows. GW1 kinda went in a circle of gvg metas.
The weakness of the signet is two fold and simple. No team play and no instant effects. If they make signets instant active on wars, it would actually be a good build imo.

Discussion: Why people think Eles is Op?

Because when damage-dealers go all-in on them, they don’t die right away. And when your whole team focuses them, they don’t die right away. However, when they decide to fight you back, they effectively set you up to be killed. Some may argue that they’re too effective at what they do.

That’s the basic gist of everything. If every class in the game could fulfill those criteria listed above, then there wouldn’t be a balance issue.

I agree with you Stormleaf. The best fix IMO for Ele runners is to make RTL effected by cripple/chill.

I see all these comlpaints about the ele. they are warranted sure…but what about the freaking ranger? i’m seeing rangers carry orb from pedastal to raven in less than four seconds … taking almost no dmg and shedding any attacks and roots..one because of evades..and too because roots like inf strike don’t work on half the freaking map. they deposit orb..and bam are back at pedastal before it even respawns.

If they’re doing it in less than four seconds, they’re hacking =P

Either way it still only takes about half as long as an ele does if the ranger is even halfway decent. Plus like he said they have a million and a half evades and all that.

All their leaps are also slowed by cripple/chill (on top of the orb slow). They lack any form of aegis so they’re easily stopped from picking up the orb in the first place. They have to actually build around orb-capping at the expense of power if they want to truly excel at it, while Elementalists get all their orb-running tools for free in their standard, OP builds. They have limited access to CC, etc.

Sure, they’re better at orb-running than a lot of professions in the right hands, but complaining about that is just as foolish as complaining about any other class that can do things better than the rest when built right. Rangers are easily countered if you know what you’re doing, while Elementalists basically just get to do whatever they want without any consequences, regardless of how their opponents react.

i was in a group with 4 mesmers. i was the only nonmesmer, on my ele.

on a related note, ive been against a team of 4 guardians and 1 warrior. needless to even mention who won that one.

what needs to be put in place is some system that tries to limit it to only 2 per class on a team. not sure how easy that would be to implement, especially considering you can just make a team of 5 insert class here and queue up.

I would rather them figure out how to actually put 2 groups of close to equal skill together before this. But that is for a different thread.

Back on topic I feel that on Spirit Watch alone is where the Ele is OP. Any other map and you can work around it and make it useless, but Spirit watch it just seems unfait tbh.

Eles do have higher burst than other profesions if spected so (base damage on spells). Actually they can kill quicker than a backstab thief glass cannon.

Point is eles are actually to op. With experience and they big skill cap you can do tones of damage, bunker and all the things op said. Me, as a ele since beta I think they need some type of nerf, no that bigg because they can easily turn thm to squishy.

What we want is some type of buff with the nerf, so we have other viable builds.

It blows my mind honestly that we can’t just have random maps or even a different map everyday. Every other game has been able to generate maps randomly it can’t be that hard.

Did they ever say that they actually can’t do random maps or is it like this for a specific reason?

They think that having random maps would cause teams to run more generic / more balanced builds.

Of course this is absurd since most people only play one class and the only build that won’t be run is the ranger that ran orbs real good. They’re in a gw1 mentality since gw2 ‘builds’ are way more flexible than gw1 builds were.[/quote]

So no, they’re just absolutely incapable developers that can’t add something that exists in atari games.

He’s just pulling numbers over. Which is great, but he didn’t develop any algorithms or API. It’s not like he built a ranking system from scratch.

It is not my goal to make developers ashamed, they are much skilled then me, but they are small team with many tasks to be done, so they can’t really focus on everything at the same time
I’m glad people find this useful, because that motivates me to improve it even more!

well QQ or not, i believe 99% (random stat) of the pvp playerbase is waiting for the BIG pvp patch as a last chance for anet to make this a decent game.
so yes, you can see thread like this every day, to make sure anet underestand what is their community’s pov about this game.

Arenanet, this is not another thread about incoming features we PvPers want to see as soon as possible or a whine post about the lacks of… pretty much everything in this game PvP-side (there are already tons of topic about this). Every top PvP player loves this game and his combat system, but we are also very tired and bored and we’re leaving due to the lack of new features and the proper attention by the devs to the PvP aspect of the game. The competitive scenario is gone from a long time and the PvP overall is stagnant. Only six months have passed and the PvP of the game is already dead.

This is an advice for you, Anet: the March patch is for real your last hope to bring back old players who left and to save the game. If the next update will suck as older updates, you can definitively say bye bye to the PvP aspect of GW2.

Arenanet, we all love your game and its mechanics. Save it now. This is your last chance.
