I will never understand why dodge can be queued to begin with. It’s a mostly reactive ability; it does not need a proactive mechanic.
Again, I support this because skill queue is killing me via confusion stacks and things of that nature or just wasting my endurance bar for something that I don’t want to use it for.
Game changing to say the least.
when you dodge while a root hits you or while you are in root, you will ALWAYS dodgeroll after the root interrupting casts and heals which is gamebreaking.
This is some broken kitten interrupting a heal cd that is needed. For example i want to dodge mesmer root, he hits because i am too slow, server delay wahtever. Then i try to remove the root with ether renewal to get out of his blurred frenzy, but as soon as the root is cleansed my character dodge rolls interrupting my heal so i lose like 6k heal making me lose a game.
you need to fix this really quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
everyone, just try it, it´s stupid the way it´s right now!
EU teams often have a full bunker/support ele. The eles normally have a preference to s/d instead of d/d.
NA is normally more offensive with all their eles and include d/d builds with ogre runes or valk amulet. Pretty much NA meta is 1 bunker + 4 dps, but recently NA has run into a lot of engis with a lot of condi comps that include 2 engis or 1 necro + 1 engi.
Both servers usually have a mesmer/guardian somewhere in the mix.
tl;dr EU has bunker eles that run s/d while NA has d/d eles that are more offensive, NA more offensive in general, EU more defensive to play true conquest. Mesmers/guardians in the mix on both servers
Hey, I think I speak for many ppl when I´m saying thanks to Blu for getting the esport back into this game.
I think it should be in Anets interest to support him, and I would like to see him being given his own custom server, so we don´t have to deal with problems like they have them right now in the stream.

I think the passive might need to come up in non-healing builds. If I run a clerics tactics build this signet can hold its weight, but it currently has NO place in a berserker build. Not sure it should be as viable in a seeker build, but it needs to see some play in soldiers, and certainly Valk and Shaman builds. Really signets are still going to have a hard time without a stun breaker (particularly in PvP and WvW). Obviously Dolyak signet is the most likely candidate here. Our next balance patch will absolutely be looking at stun breakers and spreading them out on all professions to make more categories of utilities viable. I’ll probably post this in general later as well but this was a larger balance pass and we will likely let this meta sit a bit longer than previous ones while we work towards taking time to push more less effective builds towards viable status.

Just allow rangers to tame warriors as pet.
But that would be a ranger nerf
Just allow rangers to tame warriors as pet.
Well in roleplay, some warrior norns can already be tamed by cute human rangers.

Just allow rangers to tame warriors as pet.
Yeah it is stupid how strong rangers pets are. They were already strong before the patch, now their power level is over 9000.
Beast mode
Why is ranger’s pet better then the Warrior?
You’re wrong…correct question is “Why pets already were stronger than warriors and now you made then even more op?”
You clearly didn’t bring banners to whack them on the head.
It would have been better if it was ‘Burst skills crush boons, removing one and dealing X bonus damage. Cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds per burst skill’ (to keep Sword/LB burst from becoming godmode in one fell swoop) instead of another boring % damage increase that doesn’t even really help.
Boon stealing is an interesting mechanic and is on a really telegraphed skill so I’m fine with it.
Warrior’s version of boon hate is what I would consider the hilariously lazy balancing, I was making jokes that they would make boon hate something entirely worthless like a direct increase in damage for weeks before the patch and… It actually happened, fixing absolutely nothing about the class, adding no new dynamics to warrior play, not to mention putting it in the glass cannon traitline as a grandmaster trait.
They should have just made something about warr destroy boons, that’s way less OP than thief’s boon stealing but yet somehow a massive improvement to what we have right now.
E-sport this, e-sport that, it’s a bit sickening to see that word popping up everywhere and being so widely misused:(
E-sport is nothing but a business: pro players getting paid and competing for real money, whose games are commented by remunerated shout casters to an audience that generates money through advertisement.
See a trend here? Money.
Turning gw2 into e-sport won’t improve the inherent qualities of the game, it will just inject money in the circuit thus making it artificially more interesting to follow.
What the players need above all, and I’m really talking about the majority of players here, Not the 1% that have the skills to go e-sport, not the shout casters, not the guys who just sit and watch games without playing it, so what 95% of the players want and need is a polished competitive game with fun combat and a healthy competition.
Once this is achieved then please consider adding the money and waving the e-sport banner:p
Thanks Jonathan Sharp for the video.
I must say it looks really interesting, thought I must myself feel how it works. There are ‘hot spots’ but it seems you can’t walk around with the camera freely.
Hopefully it will work out really well, because it looks really good, imo.
Also a video about Custom Arenas here.
Also thanks to John Corpening for this video about Custom Arenas!
I must say this looks awesome as well, there sure are some lovely options there, more than I imagined.

Will we be able to spectate from a party member’s point of view while defeated and wayting for waypoints to be enabled?
Currently no because of some conflicting features, but its something we’d like to add.
Does it have an “automatic camera” mode, so I can leave it on and just watch as if it were a stream or will it stay static?
There is not an automatic mode that switches camera and players for you. We’ve also talked about adding this in future updates.
There will be many possible additions for spectator mode. Like all features, they would be prioritized with everything else we’d like to do. Consider this a starting point
Bra (80 Guard), Fixie Bow (80 Ranger), Wcharr (80 Ele)
Xdragonshadowninjax (80 Thief)
preset cameras? that didn’t look too well :< why can’t I just click anywhere on the map?
edit: and maybe move around with WASD and pan the camera with the mouse..
We discussed having free-cam, but decided on not including it for this patch because of performance and positioning issues (We don’t want people flying outside of maps) I won’t say it will never be included though
Is it possible to just put in a “character” who’s completely invisible? And thus have no worries about rendering or anything.
Anything is possible with the power of code! Like any feature, we’ll listen to feedback and make decisions from there.

He’s not wrong, and this has been discussed to death in the warrior forums. Secondly, why would you have to nerf everyhing? If you were to buff brawn back to 30% the only skills that would need nerfing would be killshot/eviscerate.
Secondly, any replacement for brawn would be welcome. We’re the only class with a trait line with only one stat (3% increase on two skills might as well not be there). It doesn’t have to be damage, it could be -30% cast time on burst skills, +30% adrenaline gain, anything at all that makes a difference. I don’t think warriors would care what it was replaced with provided it did something other than give killshot an extra 300 damage.
Jangeol – WvW Warrior
As I have already stated, I don’t think that “Burst Skill Damage Increase” should be brawn’s effect seeing as a majority of the Burst Skills don’t do much damage.
Normally I would have suggested that they remove “Quick Bursts” (-20% on Burst skill cooldown) and make Brawn reduce burst skill cooldown by 1% per point. However they’re baking both Quick Bursts and Adrenal Reserves into a combined trait, reducing burst skill cooldowns could still work I suppose, being able to use your burst skill every 5s isn’t much of an issue because your adrenaline doesn’t build quickly enough to keep up unless you spec for it, which is a different tree entirely.
EDITED IN TO CLARIFY THE SUBJECT:
- Brawn affects Burst Skill Damage, the warrior profession mechanic attached to adrenaline. Not the concept of Burst Damage which is exemplified by say, 100b.
- Only Killshot and Eviscerate do high damage. The rest of the Burst Skills do medium to terrible direct damage.
- I, as the OP, do not actually believe this stat should be increasing Damage, should it ever be fixed. I’d much rather it be anything else.
WILL EDIT IN MORE STUFF AS PEOPLE CONTINUE TO POST FLAGRANTLY UNEDUCATED OPINIONS
“Increase Burst Skill Damage by 0.1% per point in the Discipline traitline.”
Not that I can blame the community guests for not knowing about this because literally nobody important plays warrior; But this is absolutely ridiculous and I feel a key reason why warriors are terrible in pvp. We essentially have a stat that is entirely useless built into our critical damage line.
I can’t be the only one who realizes how ridiculous this hasn’t been looked at since beta, when it was nerfed into the ground from 1%>0.1% because of the 1shot eviscerate build.
Also in case you, the reader of this thread, is really thick and think this stat is actually useful, investing 30 points into discipline would give you a grand total of…. +3% burst skill damage.
Let’s draw a parallel to every other class’s specific stat at max trait investment:
Elementalist: -30% cooldowns on Attunementswap
Engineer: -30% cooldowns on Toolbelt skills
Guardian: -30% cooldowns on Virtues
Mesmer: -30% cooldowns on Shatters
Thief: -30% cooldown on Steal
Necromancer: Increase Death Shroud healthpool by 30%
Ranger: Improve all pet attributes by 300, total of 1200
Aaaaaaand
Warrior: +3% damage increase on your burst skills, most of which don’t do much direct damage.
I would also like to kindly request this thread doesn’t get moved to the warrior forums, because that just kills any chance whatsoever it’s getting read by the people actually in charge of fixing kitten like this.
EDIT:
Popular suggested changes to Brawn:
- Increase Adrenaline buildup rate up to 30%
- Decrease Burst Skill cooldown up to 30%
- Increase Burst Skill damage up to 15%, or revert it back to 30% with a nerf to the base damage of Killshot and Eviscerate (Personally I am not a fan of this because a large majority of the other burst skills don’t do much direct damage at all)

Don’t derail my thread to thieves. Warriors will be strong. At least I will be OP

Temple of the Silent Skritt:
Everyone caps like normal until 8:30. Then everyone dies in the bottom of a pit trying to press ‘f’ on a shiny thing.
Legacy of the Faceroll:
You can dominate everyone here until they decide to kill a single NPC which automatically allows them to win.
Forest of Nifl’s-hell:
2 people hold 2 points while 2 other people run back and forth screaming obscenities, whilst a 3rd person generally a Thief dodges around a hostile crowd stabbing giant NPCs in the ankles with pine needles hoping he gets the kill.
Battle of Khylo:
1 Person stands on a point, while the rest eat giant boulders in a tower.
Raid on the Capricorn:
People run frantically back and forth between Beach and Dock trying to kill each other, while avoiding the water point as though it’s the plague.
Spirit Watch:
A spectating match between watching either team’s elementalist try to run the orb. Essentially like football, but less balanced.
Guardian:
He who spams boons. Generally annoying people by being hard to kill.
Engineer:
He who spams conditions. Generally annoying people by spamming conditions.
Necromancer:
Frustrated with watching his 8 stacks of bleed disappear due to constant AoE condition cleansing. Moments before committing suicide at the sight of a Monk from GW1.
Elementalist:
He who lawls loudly between mistforms.
Warrior:
Lives by the creed “Thou shalt not kill” added an extra rule “Thou shalt not live passed 20 seconds either”
Mesmer:
He who spams shatter whilst being begged by his team to set us up the portal. Can also manipulate time and space to allow his team to flail pointlessly around 50% faster with a 210 second cooldown.
Thief:
The lowly Scavenger, he preys on the weakest of the pack until people are impressed with his efforts enough to start the mating call, which roughly consists of “Omg Thief is OP l2p”
Ranger:
Trained from birth by the legendary Spartan Shaolin nomads to dominate people at a distance using the Bow of the gods and also a tiny bird hyped up on Steroids and Chuck Norris’ essence. They can also regenerate limbs.

What about people who managed to purchase Custom Arena Starter Kits due to a bug before? I know ANet said they will be usable when CAs get released but does it apply to beta too?
Yes they will be fully functional.

It’s great that PvP will bring some money to the developers, so probably PvP can be a higher priority, which is great.
The only problem is: PvP players make 2 copper a day (pvp daily reward). The only way we can make some more is selling dye from boxes.
So hardcore pvp players won’t be able to rent a server, only the pve dudes will have to money for that if they won’t make some changes.
Rare minis from chests or skins, like in GW1, would solve the problem.

Agreed. PvP players need some way to fund the expense of renting arenas.
