Rapid Fire should launch your pet instead of arrows, so your pet could be useful.
Rapidly fire 10 brown bears… sounds devastating.

The naming policy specifically forbids “Reference religious or historical figures”. Not sure it’s a bannable offense, but if you get reported or whatever you’ll at least be forced to change it. So if it’s a new character, I’d suggest just deleting and rerolling with a better name.
(For reference: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-naming-policy/ )
In light of all the confusion, anger and discontent associated with the new leveling system ,which is supposed to be set up to ease new players into the game, maybe a tutorial that shows how to do the different features found in the game should have been made. The opening garrison could have been expanded and the story line could be modified to include a trainer that showed different weapons, combat movements, targeting, etc. Anet has done this before in Factions and it worked well for showing how to do things without level gating skills and such. This idea could be polished with input from the community and improved upon. Please note this is not a gripe post I would like to see other players honest input.
I remember the first time I played GW2. I walked out into Queensdale, there was the symbol of the scales on my map, all shiny and new, so I walked over to them. There was a man in a fancy hat below the symbol. At this point I was getting slightly confused, I’d already wet myself. I pressed F and a new window appeared, I wasn’t sure what was happening, I thought my game was broken, there were all these words and symbols and I just didn’t know what to do. By this time I was laying on the floor in the fetal position, weeping softly.
Sometimes I still have nightmares about that day.
Thanks Anet for removing the confusing horror that was TP traders in starter zones.
I just re-logged my GW and it patched about 28MB. any idea what this is from? I can’t see anything official regarding it
It’s in the release notes from the patch yesterday, as a new post on the thread.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
Strictly positive posts are no more helpful than completely negative posts. I get you may want to just be nice, but I think it much more constructive to give genuine feedback that covers positive and negative aspects of the game.
People should be able to express their opinions good or bad without being attacked by fanboy/haters.
I think you missed the part where Guildwars 2 is the sequel to Guildwars 1.
I hope you realize that Eye of the North was supposed to be the prequel to GW2. Primordus was introduced to show what you would be doing in GW2 = hunting the Elder Dragons. That was not stealing, it was paving the way as an introduction to GW2. Get your facts straight.
You lost me at the revive. No need to make the open world even easier than it currently is. It’s shamefully, awfully, dreadfully, truly easy.

Minipets have been, are, and will always be cosmetic.
EDIT: I will also add that minis are not at all consistent with lore, with some exception such as the Orange Tabby Cat and Rockfur Racoon, which would be that size. You don’t seriously believe the Pact would be cool with that miniature Tequatl the Sunless that you let walk around your feet?

If someone completes the dungeon while you are attempting to selling it, we are not going to take action against that person. If you invite them into your group or list the group via LFG, they are well within their right to finish the dungeon if you decide to leave the boss at 1%.
I’m looking forwards to show off my multi colored com tags in random locations in pve and lions arch and so do you
ANet, What do you have against us?
We went through the somewhat lackluster personal story, getting even more lackluster rewards. Now you announce that you’re updating the rewards to be mildly interesting, but those of us who already completed it get absolutely nothing. This is only one of many gripes about the announcements so far, but this one seems particularly irritating.
“A Fresh Start” is an interesting choice of words. If you continue to alienate the people who have supported this game (financially and otherwise), recommended it to friends, and done everything they can to be helpful to new players in-game, then it really will be a fresh start, because there won’t be veterans around anymore. This should not be read as a threat; I don’t have immediate plans of leaving, but I think I speak for most vets when I say that, especially on the 2nd anniversary of the game, it would be nice to feel appreciated as a loyal player. With more than a title and a cake gun, that is.
Follow up question: What use is it to make a blog post that only really affects people who don’t yet play the game?
EDIT: Now that this thread has a red post (merci, Stephane!), I’d like to request we try to keep the discussion civil. It’s OK to be disappointed, but it’s not OK to be a jerk about it.

Yeah, you must bind Eternity to your account, but doing so will unlock all the following skins:
- Eternity
- Sunrise
- Twilight
- Dawn
- Dusk
You are only catering to new players.
seems like a valid approach when talking about the initial part of the story.

I had initially thought I’d want to lock this thread. At this point, I’ll leave it open. However, here are some guidelines:
- We’re not going to say “this infraction will get a warning” and “that infraction will earn a suspension.” Please don’t ask that.
- We’re not going to get into a philosophical discussion about “If you’re warning about XYZ, then you are required to warn about ABC.” Just… don’t go there because any form of warning is a kindness, not a requirement.
- Any mention of “Freedom of Speech” or your other constitutional rights, or a citation of legal action, will be smote with my Bow of the Mighty Slaughtering of Fools. But then, I always have that bow at the ready.

Based upon feedback in this thread I reformulate my initial suggestion to serve as a new topic starter. Feel free to leave your comments after this post:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Revitalize-the-Game-World-Resetting-Hearts/page/6#post4359338 this links to this same post, but posted further into this thread, so you don’t have to read all through the thread.
Personal Heart Reset
The hearts in the world should be able to be reset by players individually, so that they can access that bit of content ( be it to participate with a friend, to regain background for the area, or to have something to do while one waits for DE’s to spawn in the vicinity ).
1. Talking to the NPC resets the heart ( ‘Need some more help?’ -> ‘If you have some time, all help is welcome’ -> ‘Sure, reset the event’. )
2. Once you reset a heart it will visually indicate you reactivated the heart, ( f/e a * will be displayed on the heart, or a green outline is added to the heart .)
3. Once reactivated you can finish the heart again, for one time, after completing it you won’t be able to do the heart until the system resets. ( This to prevent people from ‘farming’ the same heart over and over, or even feel compelled to do so, and to make people fan out through the game if they prefer to do more hearts .)
4. After a month the hearts you ‘reset’ during that month will reset itself, or if possible the hearts will reset individually after a month, so you can do them again.
=> Because the hearts are not considered main content, there is no real need to adding them to achievement lists.
I hope that with this new OP the suggestion is fleshed out, dealing with most if not all concerns raised in the thread so far. And as such can function as a new discussion starter for the rest of the thread.
… If you are interested in the original OP’s you can find it here:

I’m not really a guild player, and I don’t have any interest in GvG, but saying you can “technically” fight other guilds, in WvW or PvP, is really missing the point. A real GvG mode would likely get special rules tailored to it, areas designed specifically for it, and support for things like tournaments.
Comparing a game mode to something you can simply do is a bit like comparing Sanctum Sprint to simply racing other players to the top of Labyrinthine Cliffs. It’s similar, but not nearly as fleshed out as what people want from a GvG experience.

Frankly, I was too lazy to read the content of the post, but to answer the sentence from the topic – perhaps I wouldn’t mind that, if the story wasn’t so childish and shallow.
There should be a balance….to little text ppl will not take seriously…to much text ppl won’t even bother.
As for your Great Wall of Text about something that has been stated in almost countless threads so far. The game needs an expansion
LS in my opinion is just the buffer between major content expansions.
…and noo i didn’t read even the first paragraph of what u said, it’s just a hunch. Your text is bigger then most patch notes ANet gave us.
That’s quite a large wall of text to essentially say ‘everything in your game that isn’t gameplay, put together, is nothing compared to the importance of gameplay’.
Compiled from another gw2 forum before these came online, but some real gems in here
1. Purchase your gathering items asap. That’s a pick, an axe and a sickle that only cost a few copper and allow you to loot resource nodes.
2. There’s an option “melee targeting assistance” or similar that prohibits you from walking through enemies. It might be better to turn it off, depending on your preference.
3. Type in “/wiki” to open the GW2 wiki.
4. When playing on a foreign client you can instantly translate any game-text into English by pressing the right Ctrl button.
5. You can edit your own music into the game and have it play during different times as explained here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/c..._music_in_gw2/
6. Press the Cogwheel top right corner of your inventory
Press Deposit all collectibles to put all crafting materials into the bank. (which later can be accessed from the crafting UI from a workstation)
7. Press hide/show bags to make the inventory window into one big bag insted of seperate bags
8. Also, finish a zone 100% to get nice masterwork (green) loot and a black lion key. (all hearts, points of interrest, vistas and waypoints
9. Don’t delete your first character without first sending your backpack, goggles to your new char
10. After you finish a ? quest, go to the ? guy and check for gear upgrades, they usually sell great stuff
11. Be sure to save 10 silver for when you hit level 11, as you have to buy access to your traits
12. Don’t buy violet weapons from vendor in the Mists, it has no dps (its probably for WvWvW). Buy exotic orange weapons.
13. Trebuchet on Battle of Kyhlo is op, it deals 9-11k aoe dmg and you can rush it from start and shoot before enemies take first base (windmill/mansion).
14. Cannon on beach map can be used, you just need to carry cannonballs from nearby ship. It deals 5k aoe dmg and you can shoot both beach and docks with it )
15. Never run away once you’ve completed a Dynamic Event. Try to talk to the NPC’s around you are try to follow any of the conversations NPC’s may have. There may just be one or more events coming up within a minute or 2
16. The mails u receive when u complete a heart are not just mails….take the money inside
17. If you see a resource node don’t rush to it only you can mine it.
18. - you can join the Heart of the Mist by going in Hero – PvP – click Heart of the Mist icon in the top left
19. You can travel to every Capitals by going to Lion’s Arch (take the Asura Portal in any Capital)
20. You have the option “sell junk” in your bags (in the bottom right), it will automatically sell all useless non-salvageable crap.
21. Keybind your weapon swap (as a matter of fact, I suggest to keybind everything
22. I suggest to turn ON auto loot in the options (you just spam “F” when you zerg instead of looting every corpse)
23. You can adjust your mouse turning speed with the slider in the options.
24. EXPLORE EVERYTHING. I found an awesome jumping puzzle yesterday in Lion’s Arch. A dead pirate was messing with me all the time.
25. #1 ability is your auto-attack, so you don’t need to keep spamming it like I did…
26. Adjust your Camera rotation speed to very high to remove that sluggish feeling when you mouse turn
27. You don’t need the bank to access your bank items. Any crafting stations come with bank slots.
28. There are no mail boxes. You can send items away with a right-click, and collect them through upper menu bar.
29. There is a range indicator on your abilities. There’s a red bar below the skill if you’re out of range.
30. You can do every single crafting profession in the game. You can have two active at a time. It costs some coin to switch them out and the fee depends on how many recipes you have. You don’t lose the recipes you have when you switch.
31. DON’T pass up on a harvesting spot. It literally takes 2 seconds, it’s free XP, and you never know if you’ll want to take up a profession that uses it later… you can also sell the raw mats when the TP is up.
32. If you’re getting into areas with mobs that are too difficult, but you’ve done all the other events in that zone (happened to me around level 20), check out the other races’ areas! You get scaled down to match the levels in those zones and can do all of their quests and events while still earning XP and Gear to match your own level!
33. you don’t need to be there when an event ends in order to get credit for it..
34. stick around after a dynamic event, some npc’s turn into karma vendors, (just like haert vendors often do)
35. if you’re being chased by a ranged monster, you can use another monster(a neutral one like a boar would work well) to block the bullets, thereby angering the neutral monster and causing a fight between the two, letting you escape more easily
36. You can redye your armor on your hero page absolutely free.
37. You can /kneel in front of statues and idols to receive some short-term boons.
